I booked a last minute/day-of appointment online at Le Petit Salon Curl Concept for a curl style: specifically the curly style/finish. Multiple times slots were available online and I booked for 3:15 PM. Credit card info was required at time of booking. An hour later, I received a text message that my appointment had been moved up by 30 minutes. I subsequently spoke to someone on the phone stating I had another appointment prior and that the 2:45 PM time slot didn't work for me. They insisted I had to make it by then or close to it. I subsequently jumped through hoops coordinating my schedule, rushed and arrived to Le Petit Curl Concept at 2:50 PM. I was taken upstairs for my appointment. The business manager - Teo Sorce - was upstairs standing about 20 feet from me. She communicated to the receptionist that my hair was not curly enough and they would not provide any service for me. At that point I said it was okay, I would leave without receiving any service. However, I wanted to ensure that my credit card on file would not be charged for a service I did not receive. Teo told the receptionist to tell me that charging me was policy and my card would be charged the full amount. I asked to speak with Teo directly and she blatantly refused and told the receptionist to take me downstairs. I stated I would happily come back when she was free or wait for her to have two minutes free in order to speak with me directly. I reiterated that given the circumstances, the charge was unethical. She refused to speak with me stating she would not be free at any time for the rest of the day. My credit card was charged - not once but twice - for the full amount. I ended up having to call my bank who removed the second charge and I cut my losses with the first. It is much less about the money for me and much more about the underhanded and unethical business approach that Teo is comfortable maintaining. I have never seen this level of unprofessionalism demonstrated in any other business. Unfortunately I did not read the reviews until it was too late as I see other people unfortunately experienced the same treatment from Teo.

Usually a stylist will communicate what they are thinking for the cut. Instead she just yapped away with every third word being a cuss word. Also, very unprofessional speaking about other clients who complain about her method. I think with a little more bedside manor she would have less complaints. Last part that was an unpleasant experience. She upcharged me and gaslighted me at the end because she said I booked wrong. Her website is so deceiving. She tacked on another $100 to the total because my hair was longer than what I booked. Also, she is sneaky with that 3.9% surcharge for using a credit card! Most expensive experience for a cut and color and I could have saved 50% going to my salon in Boston . Lesson learned. In the end I paid over $400 in a cut and my roots colored (no fancy highlights).

I was headed out of town on business before the salon would be open again. Meeting my new co-workers next week- I needed cut and highlights today. As I as working to identify possible salons to call, I remembered Dellaria. I had several facials there in the past. I called (great hours- open 7am daily, a little later Sun, and closed Mon). They made me an afternoon appt. with Yelena-her only open slot. I arrived armed with photos and some specifics from my stylist. I hadn't had anyone else touch my hair in 10+ years. I just hoped for some decent highlights and cut- didn't need to be exactly like my previous cut/highlights for me to be happy. I had been a loyal, long-time customer and put plenty of money into this business over the years. Apparently, that loyalty means absolutely nothing to the owner, Pat. Right before I was leaving for a work trip, one of the stylists made a mistake with my hair. I was traveling the very next day, so I called Pat hoping she might show even the slightest concern and find a way to squeeze me in for a quick emergency touch-up. Instead of trying to help fix a mistake made by HER salon, Pat somehow managed to turn the situation around on me and accuse ME--the paying customer--of being disrespectful. There was no meaningful attempt to find a solution, no concern that I was leaving for a work trip the following day, and seemingly zero appreciation for the fact that I had supported her business for YEARS. The conversation ultimately ended with Pat hanging up on me. That tells you everything you need to know about how this business treats customers when something actually goes wrong. It's easy to take someone's money when everything is going smoothly. The true measure of a business is how it responds when it makes a mistake. In my experience, Pat's response was to become defensive, blame the customer, offer no meaningful solution, and hang up the phone. After years of giving this salon my business, I discovered exactly how little my loyalty was worth to them. If this is how a long-time customer is treated over a problem the salon itself created, imagine how you'll be treated when you have an issue. There are plenty of salons that actually value their customers and understand what customer service means. Spend your money at one of them. I certainly wish I had. I will never give this business another dollar.
