We really wanted to like this place. The pros: The server was pleasant, the manager came around checking in the tables. Not the fastest service for a Saturday but we weren't in a rush. The foot was fresh. Fresh, but bland. No sauces on the burrito nor the tacos. No refill of salsa with the chips. Lots of filler rice. But the drinks were poor quality, do not order a mojito, it tasted really bad. I think they should revisit their entire approach for making one. Sure didn't look like the photos. Tasted like seltzer water and old mint leaves. The margarita we ordered was just a house margarita but for almost ten dollars it tasted like the bottle mix you buy at the supermarket. The chips and salsa were nothing horrible, but we prefer the chips and salsa at Fat Rosie's, On the Border and even Chilis. Nice server. He tried. But the food was just bad. Chicken tamale had like chicken baby poop inside. Enchilada had no favor, just left it. Taco completely fell apart. Taco should be either a smaller taco or have two corn tortillas to keep that from happening. Beans and rice were okay. That's how we filled up, that with their chips. So, I thought their saving grace would be the sopapillas...but no...and this is the last straw.... Sopapillas, either soft and pillowy or crisp and crunchy, are served with honey. I don't know why this restaurant doesn't have a higher rating. I eat a lot of Mexican food and, though I'm not Mexican, I feel like their food is pretty authentic and I love it! Decent Mexican food at a reasonable price. Generally speaking you may have to wait a few minutes on weekends. They don't take reservations. Service is above average to good. They will give you complementary chips and salsa once you are seated. As far as food is concerned you have multiple options to pick from. My recommendation is their Carne Asada. They also have some vegetarian options in the menu. Additionally there is sufficient parking. If you are looking for a low key nite out I would recommend this place. read more

I wonder if they changed hands because we usually enjoy our meal. I had the stuffed chile relleno the cheese was mostly American or cheddar and very runny. Not the cheese i usially get. My husband choose the option 3 from the choose 3 the items were very small and very greasy. The salsa was warm and so watered down nobody enjoyed it. The couple with us also commented on the greasy taste of their dinners. Bottom line we will not be back there are much better Mexican restaurants around. So I understand it is rather difficult to find servers nowadays, truly, I do. However, when you plan on spending a pretty penny for a family of 6 one would expect at least some kind of hospitality. We entered and were shown directly to our table by the hostess. We waited for someone to stop at our table and offer drinks. We waited some more. And waited. Finally after 20 minutes waiting the server came and took our drink order. I requested waters with our horchata and margarita order. I had also wanted to order our meals at the same time, because who knew how long he would be gone for. However, as quick as a flash he was gone once more. We received our paid drinks fairly quickly, but did not receive more than two waters. Umm, my children really need water if they are consuming chips. I would have requested more at the bar, but there was absolutely no one working there! And so we waited once more. When he finally returned with our nachos I requested them again and he pretty much shot me down quickly by stating he remembered and would get them. Umm, and you expect a good tip? Finally, our meals arrived. With the rest of the requested waters. Their lunch specials are still fairly reasonable. Decent portion sizes for the price, albeit overly oiled. My husband also stated the shrimp tasted off. Presentation was good, though. Our server had no issue giving us our check, though. Sure, when it's time to pay he had all the time in the world. Another couple who had initially attempted to eat at the bar and were subsequently told to sit in a booth eventually left even though they had ordered drinks still left at the table, untouched. I was here last night my server was Martin Montero and the service was okay not that best we were a table of 6 people at the time we received our food my plate was wrong it wasn't what I order so I return it back to the kitchen and they took a lot of time to remake it, the manager took also a very long time to come and then I received my food after my friends were finish eating at the end when I got my check I pay normally but after checking my card I saw I got charged $60 worth of tip without my consent and I wasn't aware of it the server didn't tell me anything and he didn't say nothing either did on the receipt, They should make customers aware of this that the tip is included in the bill or put it in the bill after all this I think I would really think twice about coming to dine in here. read more

This is my second time here, my first time was cool because the margaritas are good but the food... hard pass. The food is not authentic and the service sucks. Today was hands down terrible, we got to the restaurant and got seated within 5mins, so cool, but then... seated and ignored. We got a table right by the bar and next to the hostess but that did not stop them from completely ignoring us for over 20mins. I watched as the waitress literally helped every table and looked at our table once but didn't come over to say a word. After coming here for 5 years I can't believe how things have changed. Their chips were stale and sent back 3 times. Waiter just said its where they get them from that cause this. Well I think all there food comes from a frozen facility and they us heat everything up while being served. Didn't give us water until we had to asked and I wouldn't drink out of the water plastic glasses because it had lipstick marks all over each glass. My husband and I did not feel well after eating anything at this place. I wish the old owner was still around. He'd walk around and ck on people and how everything was and now no one cares. The flauta's had barely any meat in them and was undercooked and raw. Only ate 1 1/2 of them till noticing. They charged us 1.29 for the tiniest cup of Queso when and 2.29 for the smallest cup of Guacamole I've ever seen! This place has gone done hill so bad. Noticed as we were leaving they had a huge ceiling area that had water damage and wonder how long that will take to fix. We went about 6 months ago and same issues before as well. I threw up after eating here. We started with chips, salsa, and guacamole. For the entree, I had the ground beef flautas and my partner had the fiesta enchiladas with ground beef. I pulled a stringy, fatty piece of meat out of the last flauta. We both felt nauseous after finishing the meal and I was sick by the time I got home. My guess is the ground beef was bad. My boyfriend talked this place up so much. The food was supposed to be amazing. Well, it was your standard run of the mill mexican restaurant as far as food but wow, Horrible service! 100% the worst I've ever had. First we were seated and then no one was by us for 15 mins, until I flagged down someone to finally just get a drinks. The waiter was talking so fast and moving so quickly we thought, cool, he'll get things moving and was funny. He came back with our drinks and we all ordered. He said my order 3 times back to me because he was "joking" around, which was all good until he brought my order out... He brings mine out first, sets it down and tell my boyfriend and his son that they were out of something in their meals and if they wanted to substitute it (I have my meal already in front of me?). They said okay. Well, I wasn't about to eat my meal without the boys, but I looked at it. It was supposed to be 2 shredded chicken and one shredded beef Taco dinner (he repeated back to me) on flour soft shells. Well, there were 2 ground beef and one shredded chicken on corn soft shells. So, as we wait for them to cook the guys, a manager comes over, talks to us like every day, nice, etc., asks us if there is anything we need and we asked him very politely if he could fix my order. He took it back to get it corrected. Well, about 5 mins later the guys meals come out from our waiter who was soooo quick, he never gave me an opportunity to me ask for water or more forks and napkins. So he's gone, boys have their food... About 5 mins later, the manager came back out with my food. He gets me the napkins and another drink, refills the boys drinks and finally we can all at least have food in our mouth at the same time for 5 mins? At this point I'm thinking they have to - or - actually SHOULD comp some of this meal. If not all, at least mine! Nope... Handed a bill for the full amount like they did a great job? After seeing that, I wanted it all comped... Now mind you, we were trying to have a nice meal, we were all smiles and polite to everyone and that didn't even help, giving them with the benefit of the doubt after the first 30 mins apparently is the wrong approach... Our cheese had a gross layer that we had to stir cause it was sitting out for a while. We just had a 4-hour dinner (it was so long by our choice, they could have had us out of there in less than an hour) with another couple and loved this place. I was hesitant because it had only 2-2.5 stars, but we found it to be a wonderful place to spend the evening laughing and enjoying a meal with friends. I got the baja fish tacos and they are probably one of the best I have ever had. Others in our group got the burrito, chimichanga, and shrimp fajitas and they were all good/fine. I ordered a strawberry lemonade with dinner tonight. I know there aren't free refills on this drink (clearly stated on the menu), but I've had it here before and it's been served in a large glass. Today it came in a tiny little glass. So no refills and a tiny glass? I mean how much could Minute Maid lemonade with a little strawberry flavoring cost them? I asked and the manager said they just changed the glass sizes for several drinks including the daiquiris. Not sure why they would also change glasses for a cheap non-alcoholic drink.
