After waiting 15 minutes, we had to call over a waiter to get our order. Luckily, the food came out in about 5 minutes. Food: 3/5 The food ranges from terrible to decent. We ordered a variety of different dishes, including nachos, quesadillas, tacos, and burritos. The fish taco we ordered was quite bad, and tasted old. The nachos and quesadillas were okay. The chipotle burrito I had was actually decent, especially the sauce. The portions were pretty large. Not to mention, the tortilla chips and the salsa given to us were not fresh, and appeared to be pre-made. (Tasted very similar to Costco salsa.) There's not that many places to choose from in the area, but make sure you stay away from Casa Mendoza. Below average Mexican food and bad customer service. They brought out spicy chips and salsa for us (which was good) but when we needed water it took another 10 minutes or so for them to bring it out. We were sweating out there. Also, the table was dirty and no one cleaned it when we sat down. If you're expecting good food and service don't go here for it. I had the chicken flautas and my sister had the chicken enchilada & mole. The staff was kind, efficient, and quick. I really enjoyed our experience here. Two stars because waiter was attentive. But.... Waited to be seated, and we waited at the little bar area where I could see the cooks cooking the meals. What a turn off to see one of the cooks get refried beans on his finger, lick it off, then proceed with wrapping up someone's burrito. Horribly hot. Not good for bacteria growing in food left out. Warm salsa, warm sour cream, with warm guacamole. Diet Coke was flat. Iced tea was water with a slight hint of tea. Enchiladas were watery as if they took a spoonful of watery shredded chicken, put it into a tortilla, then poured enchilada sauce over it. Yuck! This was a decent meal. Our combined order consisted of the grilled chicken tostada, shrimp tacos, carne asada sope, and carne asada tacos. Simple food that did the trick. The grilled chicken tostada is massive, basically a salad with a tostada at the bottom acting as a crunchy surprise with some beans spread over it. The shrimp taco was good, the shrimp was plump and juicy. Cooked to perfection with a nice warm tortilla and some filler. The sope was a nice little gem of an order, the carne asada was tasty. We came in for dinner after a long day of hiking up at Sequoia. We got there just ahead of a big group, and our server made sure our order got in before they placed theirs. Great food too - I had the Mole Enchiladas and they were awesome!! My oldest kid enjoyed the Chimichanga plate and everything we ordered was great tasting. The service is good and the food is tasty. They make fresh flan, and the chips and salsa are delicious. We ate: albondiga soup,chicken mole, supreme burrito, and beef taquitos. My husband and I were blown away by how disappointing this place was. Our waitress spoke very poor english, which is fine, except she messed both of our orders up after going through a long list of why we couldn't have what we wanted off the menu. Awkward. The food was not only poor quality, but also completely lacked flavor. After a small bowl of guac, two waters, 1 taco and 1 pork something (we had no idea what she brought to the table, not what we ordered). We paid $35! They have good, but not amazing, Mexican food that makes for a filling meal after a day of hiking. I had a veggie burrito, which had a nice mix of roasted veggies, along with a side of vegetarian refried beans and rice. The beans weren't my favorite kind (they were the kind of pureed looking light brown ones), but the meal was good overall and mixed together well. The portions were pretty good and the prices were average. The tables/chairs and atmosphere weren't anything special, but they were fine. (We sat inside.) This place is FABULOUS and DELICIOUS as a foodie visiting from Orange County!!! Shame on the bad reviews on service!! They work as hard and as fast as they can and the food was fantastic. While on vacation there should be no hurry people!!! We even brought our own bottle of wine from Napa and they brought an opener with no corkage fee! ahh... AWESOME. alongside the beers we ordered. Love Casa Mendoza - used to be called Serranos! The chips and salsa are the best ever...and you should know that if there is good salsa at a Mexican restaurant that they have great food! Love the albondiga soup! Perfect for a cold rainy day! My favorite are the shrimp tacos - so good! My daughter loves the beef sopes! When in Three Rivers you need to go here! We happened to run into someone who worked at the hotel we are staying at and he said that it is one of his favorite restaurants in town. Glad we picked this place for dinner while visiting three rivers. Homemade beans and rice, shredded beef burritos were very tasty. The price was decent, customer service was great, I didn't get the ladies name in the front but she was nice and helped me out with a smile. They had pleasant outdoor seating, but no heat lamps so bring a jacket. Service was very friendly but slow. Food was yummy, nothing too memorable but filing. The only thing I disliked was the salsa, tasted like it came from a jar. Love this place. The people are especially nice and attentive. Whenever we're in town for World Ag Expo, we always set aside one night to come and eat here. This time around had the Chorizo Burrito.
