What in the world happened to this place!!! Had server Donna T. She was rude and very curt. Served us drinks, took 2 steps to leave, turns her head half way as she is leaving and asked us are u ready to order? Had an ice tea, had to ask for lemons twice. Ordered the crab balls, 1lemmon for all four of us. Requested more, Donna stated more? She acted annoyed!!! The lasagna was small and warm!!! 1 pita pizza, chx broccoli Alfredo, diver scallops. Took over 30 minutes for the meals. She held up our meals, due to the scallops taking 40 mins. Unbelievable worst service! NO BREAD FOR US!! All 3 tables around got bread!!! The Maryland Crab Cakes are real MARYLAND CRAB CAKES, no filler and the lumps of crabmeat can actually be seen! We moved here from Maryland in 1999 and have tried every restaurant that advertised they had Maryland Crab Cakes and left them on our plates, and wanted to tell them to get a can of OLD BAY SEASONING and make them from the recipe on the can. They are good but will not come close to Casa Mia's. Like BRUSSEL SPROUTS? They have them as a starter, cooked in bacon grease, smothered in bacon pieces and I brought have of them home along with the dinner I ordered because they came to our table on a huge oval platter. They are not greasy, just scrumptious. We have been there many times and tried many menu items including their BRICK OVEN PIZZAS, the CRAB CAKE PIZZA is fantastic, just tomato sauce and huge chunks of Crab Meat. It is not cheap, but you get what you pay for and you will not care what the total bill is once you taste their food. We arrived only half an hour before they closed, but the staff was welcoming, and we never felt a bit rushed. The crab ball appetizer was outstanding with lump crab meat almost the size of my thumb. The portion sizes were large. Our crab & shrimp macaroni and cheese easily fed the two of us. They have a very good adult beverage selection and don't gouge you for a glass of wine. Although it's in a strip center, don't let the location fool you. Casa Mia offers a casual and comfortable atmosphere that is well worth the visit. read more

Had heard that this new restaurant had opened near my home and decided to check it out on a Thursday night with a friend. Enjoyed a well-made, lemon drop martini, wonderfully delicious Gorgonzola salad and a pizza with arugula and prosciutto. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Checked back with us often during our dining experience. Portions were large enough that I was able to take home for lunch the next day. I would highly recommend and hope to be visiting them again sometime soon! read more

The crab cakes were good, we are from Maryland and the crab cakes are the best we have had here. However, I had the lasagna last night and today I am trying to figure out what they possibly could have put into the ricotta for a thick gluey texture. I feel like it is stuck on my chest and not digesting. I think in the future I can make my own crab cakes and pass on this Italian (NOT) menu. We've given this restaurant three tries. Service is terrible. Food was cold 1. The hostess is the worst. She's the first person that you meet at the business. As a local business owner it's her job to greet customers and make them feel welcome and comfortable when they walk in the door. Be engaging and congenial instead of rude and commanding. Each time she has tried to get us to sit at the bar even with reservations. We don't drink. I'd rather have a nice quiet dinner at home than sit at a bar to eat. 2. I can't speak for all the wait staff but several of them still need training. One of them told us her life story. We couldn't get away. 3. All 3 of my dinners were completely cold in the middle. One of them was Spanakopita and the other two were lasagna. One time I can ignore but 3 out of 3 is a strike out! read more

I've been to Casa Mia's twice and each time was a great experience. I love the decor, there's a large bar area, several high top tables and then additional booths and tables towards the back. The staff is extremely pleasant and offer their input on the various menu items. The food is wonderful. The first time I had the crab cake appetizer and it was sublime. The second time I shared a pizza with a friend. The pizza is thin crust which is my favorite style of pizza. I will be going back to Casa Mia. There are so many other items on the menu I want to try! Visited Casa Mia for the first time today. It was excellent IMO. Casa Mia wins any Md crabcake competition in MB. Their Cream of Crab Soup was also delicious. Service was quick and courteous. Service is terrible. Will never go back. Waitress was completely inattentive, never brought water for table as asked for. She never brought pepper as requested after she offered. Pizza served was cold. Beer brought was not what was ordered after specifically ordering twice and confirmed. Billed for incorrect beer, so waitress knew it was the wrong beer. Pizza had the wrong toppings. Salads were not correct... ordered 1 Caesar and 1 garden received 2 Caesar. Will not be returning. read more

Worst service ever! Someone recommended this place to my girlfriend, who is from Maryland, for their crab cakes. The food is actually very good, and she did like the crab cakes, however, I'd recommend take out. First, we made a reservation, when we arrived, the hostess told us we could sit at the bar, because it's "first come first serve." I said: "we made a reservation." To which she replied: "let me see if I have a table in the back." She found a table and we were seated. About five minutes later our waitress came by and asked what we'd like to drink. My girlfriend asked for a water with lemon and a cocktail, I said I'd also take a water and a cocktail. After a few minutes, she returned with our cocktails, but no water. She asked if we'd like to put our food order in because they're busy and it may take longer. We ordered the crab dip and said we'd like to look over the menu. I also asked again for some water. About 5-10 minutes later, a young man came over to us with an order of crab balls (after having tried to deliver them to the table next to us), we said: "we ordered the crab dip." Our waitress came over and said: "you ordered the crab balls, here I wrote it down..." and she actually showed us her notes to prove us wrong! We both said "no, we asked for the crab dip," and I again asked for a couple waters (no, they still hadn't brought them. About 5 minutes later, our waitress was delivering food to the table behind us, I turned to her and said: "can we PLEASE get some waters?" A few minutes later, she returned with the crab dip and asked if there was anything she could get us, I said "some silverware and napkins and two waters would be great!" She left and came back with our waters and silverware, 50 minutes after we had sat down at the table!!! When she brought my girlfriend her salad, my girlfriend asked her to just box it up and make our food to go (my girlfriend is a bartender and was totally disgusted at the level of service). The waitress actually asked us: "is something wrong?" I just looked at her. Unbelievable. Let me start by saying that I grew up in Baltimore and lived very close to the Casa Mia's location in White March, MD, which is more of a pizza and sandwich carry out spot. The MD location was never a hot bed for MD crab cakes. When the Surfside Beach location opened here it immediately garnered rave reviews about their MD crab cakes. We decided to try Casa Mia's for the pizza and Italian specialties. We went about 2 weeks after the resaurant opened. All of the menu prices were higher than other Italian restaurants in the area, but that is okay if the food is exceptional compared to the other restaurants. The pizza was excellent. I decided to try the linguine bolognese, which also was excellent. Possibly the best I have ever had. It was a huge portion with great flavor and loads of ground meat. It was served with a very good Caesar salad, nicely plated. The dressing was drizzled on top of the romaine, with shaved parmesan mixed in the lettuce and also sprinkled on top. The following week my wife and I decided to go out for lunch. She suggested we go back to Casa Mia's. I said fine, but I would have to get the linguine bolognese again. The pizza was just as good as the first time and the bolognese was probably the worst I've ever had. Sauce tasted like it came from a jar, hardly no meat, The caesar salad was a bowl of lettuce with a sliver of cheese and what tasted like vinegarette poured over the lettuce, it was horrible. I brought it to the attention of our server, thinking that maybe a manager might stop by. When our server returned she simply said that the bolognese was made to order, implying that the quality of the dish was dependant on who prepared it. I emailed the restaurant on October 11th and informed them of our 2 visits and never received a reply. Trying to be fair, we decided to give it a third try. Again the pizza was very good. The bolognese was better than the last, but still nowhere near as good as the first time. I have had much better, and cheaper at other Italian restaurants in the area. The first 2 months of operation at Casa Mia's has been all about the crab cakes. Soon the novelty of the $29 crab cakes will wear off and then the rest of the menu will come into play. If it is more expensive and not as good as the other local, established restaurants, Casa Mia's will not survive. I gave it 3 shots, and I will not be back. read more
