Will require a second visit to make sure. Had a Togo order for breakfast tacos. Hostess and waitress greeted me quickly and when I said it was Togo they promptly took my order. Friendly and fast which gets a five star. Got two ham, egg and potato and a horchata. Total was $7.50 not including the tax which was an excellent deal. They also have a condiment bar with a variety of salsas, pickles, limes and onions. The Horchata was a bit bland but that's all I have found so far in Texas so nothing bad or good. The tacos is what I have mixed feelings on as they weren't half bad. On one hand it looks like they used fresh cut potatoes which is a plus. On the other hand they are blander than the pre-made potatoes. They were also just a bit undercooked, just a slight bit. The worst of it all is the eggs. OMG. Here I am enjoying my taco and half way thru, crunch, egg shell. Finished up the first one with that single incident and was thinking ok it's a fluke. I have cooked egg shells in accidentally before. I eat my second one, crunch, crunch, crunch. This one was littered with so much egg shell I think half of it was in there. I had to stop because the egg shells were to much. Again I don't see reviews of people complaining of this so I will have to give them one more chance. It may take a while as I get over this incident. Finally, they gave me my tacos on a plate. Ordered a shrimp cocktail and it was the worst one I've ever had it was just ketchup and no broth. The chips are from HEB bought from the chips aisle. The al pastor is red in color and bought from michoacana they can't even season their own meat. Their spiciest salsa is not even spicy at all. Heard a lot about this place, now have finally tried it! The menu offers various selections of traditional Mexican food, all with nice prices. I opted for the basic torta that featured sliced steak, ham, avocado, lettuce and tomato. The bread had a nice, slightly crisp inside with soft and chewy outside, which held together nicely after being fully loaded with all the goodies. The steak was sliced into wonderful tasty bits that complimented the ham and avocado well. I used the juice from the amazing charro beans as an au jus for dipping the torta into. Very delicious move indeed. The beans came with fresh sliced jalapeno, pork belly, and cilantro. The restaurant itself was very clean, laid out well, and has a nice side room that features a well stocked bar which one can also order food at. The salsa bar is loaded with many varieties of house made salsas to compliment all the dishes. I will for sure be back to try other tasty looking items from their menu. Taco More is one of my favorite places to celebrate big life events! This time, I went to pick up an order on Cinco de Mayo, and the experience led me to leave a 5 star review. I made a big mistake on my order, both women at the pick-up lane were incredibly accommodating despite my mistake. They had a smile on their face and all my food hot and ready in about 10 minutes. I went to lunch with a work friend and happened to sit at a table near the kitchen. I happened to look up when I saw the staff grabbing chips to put in the baskets with their hands, NO GLOVES. We showed up and our group of 5 was immediately seated outside (without even offering us the option of a table inside) in 100 degree weather with just 2 small fans out there - we were ok with this and just took it without saying anything, and there were about 4 other groups out there as well who were being served quickly. So we thought this would be fine. We waited around for a while, wanting to have our drink orders taken. There were waitresses coming and going to all of the other tables, not even looking our way despite yelling out to them and trying to get their attention multiple times. 10 minutes then passed without even acknowledging us. We went inside to tell the hostess what was going on, and she invited us back inside to wait for a table since people were starting to clear out inside. We waited there, and the hostesses then actually began to seat groups who were just showing up and walking in through the door before seating us. We reminded them that we had been waiting for 20 minutes at this point since showing up, and were then taken to a table. A few minutes after we were seated, a large group of 8 was seated to our left, and a group of 2 was seated to our right. Immediately after these groups sat down, both tables had chips brought to them and their drink orders were taken. We flagged someone down and told them we were still waiting for our waiter and they said someone would be with us soon. Ten minutes then passed. We got up and left. We spent THIRTY FIVE MINUTES at this restaurant with ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE. We understand it was a Sunday lunch hour, but we weren't even acknowledged by a waiter saying "Hey, I'm your waiter and I'll be by soon" and we noticed many other tables around us were getting excellent service. My family went outside to the car, and my husband and I went to the desk to speak with the hostess. We told them what happened and why we were leaving. We asked to speak to the manager. They pulled a random employee off the floor who, now that I've read other Yelp reviews, confirms to me that this was definitely NOT the manager. We told them our story. They didn't even apologize. They didn't care. And while we were telling them what happened, they began to bicker amongst each other and stopped listening to us entirely. I loudly exclaimed "If you won't even listen to us, we are leaving and never coming back" and the two of us left. - Little do they know, I am fluent in Spanish and know everything they were saying to each other while they fought. It was so disrespectful. I didn't speak to them in Spanish because I didn't want to cause a scene. By the way, Taco More, just because people don't look Latino/a doesn't mean we don't deserve the same respect at your establishment. I have seen other posts calling you "racist" and that is a very harsh term that I would never use, but my family definitely felt discriminated against. DO NOT go to this restaurant!!! I've only ever tried the cheese enchiladas, but from the first bite, these were immediately my favorite. Authentic, fresh made, and delicious. I can taste the spices with every bite. I pair it with a Jarritos de piña, and I feel like I'm back in the Motherland. I appreciate the free fresh veggie and salsa bar and the bottomless chips. Service is great as more than one person will come check on the table and act like they mean it. I tried their Bistek Tacos and the first issue was the waitress that was waiting on me didn't know what kind of meat goes on a Bistek Taco. Is there different meats you can have on that style?!? When I was in the Rio Grande Valley they just knew. Anyway once I spoke to a second person she told me beef steak is what is used so I ordered 3 of the Taquitos and they came out good just not great. First let me tell you the sopes are homemade. Super good. They come with beans, lettuce, cheese, avocado, and sour cream. I topped mine with green salsa. Yum. I highly recommend the carnitas. I don't know what these people are talking about. This place is NOT good. Here's the ONLY props I give them: their menus are pretty modern looking. The whole place is pretty modern -looking. OR it's just cheap and looks modern from its frugality masquerading as "modern minimalism". Either way, it doesn't work if you're looking for a good restaurant experience. My BIGGEST and first gripe: they have very FEW people who speak English. I swear, I'm not exaggerating. As I came in, all 3 servers who were hanging out behind the bar instead of greeting people at the entrance, spoke Spanish to me. I responded in English, and they still spoke Spanish. As I sat with my companion, the server comes over and she takes our order in Spanish. I quickly say that we don't speak Spanish, and she tries to take our drink order. Afterwards, a young man comes over and takes our order, telling us that he's taking over because he's the only one who speaks English. This is unacceptable. We are NOT on a border town, and while there sure are a lot of Hispanic demographics in the area, this is still an English-speaking country. And even if you have a mexican food restaurant, you ARE still, most definitely expected to speak the language. So this aside, let's talk about the food. The house salsa, which I believe, and I think most people would agree, is supposed to be a staple of your restaurant. This salsa is way too hot, dry, and not palatable. It's the absolute worst house salsa I've ever had. I'd be surprised if anyone can stomach two bites of chips dipped in it. The people saying "salsa bar"... Are you serious? There's a bar, with 10 trays...ONLY 3 salsas!!... And one of them was that aforementioned 2nd rate salsa. (I'll take a picture later) I ordered the "fajita tacos", which according to their menu and the server, it's the closest thing this place has to "carne asada tacos". For an "authentic mexican food place", to not have carne asada tacos as one of your staples is odd. The food came out "not hot", so within minutes, it went cold. It was also disappointingly plain, with each taco having only onions and cilantro. It just tasted BLAND. The other dish was a medley of sorts, with cheese, steak, tomatoes, and onions, made into a pile of food. And even THAT was bland. With the terrible service, I have no choice but to give this a 1 star. 2 stars would suggest I'm willing to return and give it another shot. I see no absolute reason to make my way back here, whatsoever. read more
