I had lunch there yesterday and I ate beef ribs there. I ordered them medium and they came well done. I paid the bill and left what I thought was a generous tip of 25%. When I arrived at home I realized that the restaurant had added a tip of 15% on the credit card printout. So basically I paid over 35% tip for a meal that was mediocre at best. I didn't come here for the food but for a club setting. It was kind of dead considering it was a friday night. Also, they only played Portuguese and Brazilian music for most of the night. If you are used to a variety of different genres played in a club, this place is not for you. However, having a live band was cool.their sangria is fantastic and at a good price. Was here this past Sunday and it was a table of 6 adults and 1 rambunctious toddler, which did not faze them; which is good.The restaurant is loud because there's a lot going on. They have a hot/cold buffet in the center of their two rooms, whichbis included with the rodizio dinner. They accommodate large groups and that's the reason for the noise. Great for all ages. They offer endless rodizio and a barbecue selection as well. Great food and service. Prices are comparable, considering this is the iron bound district and there are plenty of Portuguese restaurants. however, this place is also a Brazilian steak house and offers a bit more. Desserts are really authentic and taste great, especially the flan and tre leche. When you order the rodizio, they complete your meal with complimentary grilled pineapple. I wish I took pics, but too busy eating and having a good time with the "rambunctious" toddler, who btw, ate well too. They offer chicken fingers and fries for the little ones. read more

Casanova was my first time ever trying Rodizio and after having it, I immediately became a fan. As a first timer, I was blown away by the concept and had very high expectations after many positive reviews from friends. Fortunately, I was not disappointed. The skirt steak was amazing and would be a big reason why I would go back. They had karaoke which was a lot of fun and I even tried it the second time I went, and props for having nostalgic backstreet boys hits from the 90's . This place is good if you're looking for Rodizio that isn't overpriced, isn't dried out, and isn't overly fancy. It's more like a sports bar with TV's everywhere in sight, where you an enjoy your all you can eat, and not have to wear your Sunday's best. The rodizio is worth it, if you're in the mood to eat a lot. The regular BBQ meals are decent sized, but usually overcooked. The chicken is only 4 small pieces. Because there's a buffet to eat from first, usually the small BBQ meals are enough. However, by price, I would say it's a pretty small portion. The buffet is pretty small, but it's okay. I've had a few of their other meals, and they were actually pretty good. My boyfriend rarely gets the BBQ, and is always satisfied. Overall, I eat here because I like the relaxing atmosphere, and the service is usually really great. I don't have to spend an arm and a leg to eat rodizio. I'm pleased just with that. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I've been coming here for years. At one point I used to come like twice a week. The food is great and it's just a great place to eat and hang out, especially in the summer. There's the latest brazilian music playing and flat screen TV's which usually have the soccer games on so your entertained while you eat. All the waitresses and barmaids are very pretty and make you feel very much at home. THE FOOD IS GREAT! I almost always order the Rodizio which is seasoned and cooked to perfection every time and if you specify, they will cook it how you want it. The menu selection is great especially the Paella. If I had to find SOMETHING wrong it would be that the buffet/salad bar could be a little better on certain days, but that's just me nitpicking to be honest because with the menu selection they have, who is really going there for the buffet. Long story short, The food is great, girls are pretty, and the ambiance is perfect. This is the first place I bring my out of town friends. oh by the way if your American you may want to brush up on a little basic Portuguese because some of the waitresses don't speak English or they speak very little. read more

This was my first time going to casa nova grill and I was honestly not impressed. Our waiter was very unprofessional and when I asked about an entree on the menu and what kind of steak it was, he just replied, "umm just a regular steak". Also, on the side is like a little buffet or salad bar and I had noticed he was standing there mixing the food as if he had nothing else better to do. Knowing he fact that he hadn't even taken out drinks ,I believe that a waiter should know every fact and detail about what is on the menu. The single star is deserved for the ONE server that served the Rodizio. He was the ONLY bright spot on the night as he was attentive, friendly and made sure the two who ordered Rodizio always had meat on their plate. I really wish I knew why this place has gotten as high of a rating from other guests because our experience was FAR from a good one. Much of the meat served for the Rodizio was so rare it bordered RAW! My Fish Stew was tasty but hard to eat with every single bone a fish has in its body was in that pot, not to mention it was "Skin On" in a dish that was served in a sauce which is a NO-NO! Hard to enjoy something that I had to stop to spit out bones with every bite! One friend ordered a steak medium and it came to him well done and charred! The service was God Awful! I ordered the black beans, they brought me red beans. I ordered the Portuguese style potatoes, they brought me French Fries. We ordered a second pitcher of Sangria, waited almost 20 minutes before I had to get up, find a waiter and tell him we were still waiting for a refill (Sangria was mediocre at best). Since we were there celebrating a friends Birthday, one of our party had secretly asked to have a piece of cake brought out towards the end of our meal... It never came and we just said the hell with it. Last, came the bill! We were trying to figure out who owed what and afterwards the numbers just didn't add up as we were also including what we were going to give as a tip before we realized that these people actually had the AUDACITY to add an18% tip to the bill. Never heard this happening for a party less then five people. Mind you, we didn't give them that full 18% but Kudos for trying you (Insert foul language here)!!! Two summers ago when FERNANDEZ' closed down, this little spot became my fave for RODIZIO.

We didn't try the rodizio, so perhaps if we try again our review may improve. We tried the shrimp Parmesan and chicken in Brazilian sauce. Both were quite large portions and decently done. The flavors were okay though not mind blowing. For the price the food is substantial and the atmosphere is one of the nicer places nearby. read more

Casanova is a real authentic Brazilian restaurant. My wife is from Brazil, and this is the place that her and her friends go most often to get Brazilian food. They have the all you can eat ridizio for around $30, and the also have many standard Brazilian dishes on the regular menu. Parking is available at the shipping center across the street, so you don't need to pay for parking. Bobó de camarão is one of my favorites. read more

Well I came here for diner tonight and the food was ok as far as taste and presentation but I ordered a rare steak and it came out medium well but I dealt with it because the taste was there as well as the fact that I never saw my waiter again after he dropped it at the table as I came to find out after sitting there for over a half and hour that he had gone home and the new server never bothered checking with our table so needless to say the service aspect is lacking horribly and the kitchen just needs to step up the game on food temps I mean this is a steakhouse they should be served as ordered read more

Took a friend from TN here before he left back home. We came here and everything was going fine. The waitress sat us and asked if we wanted Rodizio or the buffet. This was our first time here and she did not explain the difference. Thinking that this was an All you can eat place, I said the buffet. Another guy came up to us and asked if we wanted the meats, and I replied yes. The first lady who sat us came over and said "I thought you said you wanted the buffet?" I thought the buffet was the all you can eat salad bar, so I said I want it all. She just rolled her eyes and muttered something and walked away. I got really pissed at her attitude and was ready to walk out. The gentleman who came over previously to ask if we wanted the meats, came over and apologized saying that the woman with the bad attitude was not a real waitress and that they try to help her out. He brought to us some breads, fried plantains and other things and apologized again. This is how true customer service should be. The rest of the night he came over frequently to ask how everything was and if we needed anything. This gentleman's class and service is what saved dinner for me and my friend. Group of us had dinner in the restaurant last night. We spent over $1,000.00 in the restaurant and it was very disappointed. We had Rodizio (meat buffet), meat delivery was very very slow. One meat come at a time. Sometimes the meat they brought not even last to the end table and we were waiting for the meat to come most of time. We have unlimited wine, beer, and sangria and it took forever to bring the drink to our table. Until my husband compliant to someone and food started to come but it was very late of our dinner. I made the reservation in advance and they should've known that we were coming. After dinner, we spent several hundred dollars on the scotch shots at the dinner table and at the bar. The bar service was terrible and we left the restaurant after 30 minutes. Learned my lesson and WILL NOT GO BACK AGAIN. read more

Unlike one of the other reviewers who took everything personally on her 6th anniversary, I thought that the guy with the polo collar shirt was very helpful and worked harder than she said. In her review I saw nothing about the husband's experience eating the rodizio, which is their specialty. All that she did was complain about her fish dish. My date and I had some pretty good paella. All of the sea food seemed fresh and good and there was more than enough for the two of us. The sauce was excellent. The only real drawback was that the lobster portion of the dish was a little over-cooked. Their caipirinhas were large and full of cashasah. I am spelling both of these words incorrectly since the spell-check is underlying them but if you've ever had drinks at a Brazilian restaurant, you'll know what I'm talking about. One star for the food, and only the food! The service was terrible, and thats being nice. We were eight people and were ignored the whole time. They forgot the appetizer and one of the entree's. The staff seemed to want to have fun with each other than serve us. It was not like they were busy. Only three tables and a few regulars at the bar. They try to hide the tip as a. " suggested table service fee". I get the gratuity added for large parties but.do not insult my intelligence by adding $60 to the bill and telling me it is only a suggestion. I do have to say they took that charge off and the entree off the bill. So if you want average food, like being ignored and have to almost tackle.a.server for service than this is your place. It may sound harsh but in my fifty years this is the first time I did not leave a tip. Very good in every respect. I really liked the salad bar. Good tuna salad. Instead of the all-you-can-eat special that seems to be so popular in Brazil, I had the, I think, 5 meat menu choice. The chef chooses the types of meat, came with a bowl of rice, a bowl of beans and the salad bar. The meat alone was more than I could ever eat, and I'm 6'5". And it was fantastic!
