Sad. Truly a sad place. First n foremost this place was trash for the price!! N I mean GARBAGE!!! The "chef" needs to be replaced or go back to cooking school or something! everything n I mean EVERYTHING, from the calamari which they serve u massive rings super unflavored, no lemon on the side, the "Seabass" is a Pardon my language a fucken joke!!! I've had tilapia taste better than than THIN side of under flavored, OVERCOOKED peace of fish n don't get me started on the sides that come with it, disgusting unflavored potatoes n the "grilled veggies" whoever is back there NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO COOK!!! Garbage! My son's "Mac n cheese" uff... grated PARMESAN CREAM SAUCE! Super grainy $150 for trash food, no wonder this place is empty!

Came to this spot after watching a Brazil game, worked up an appetite from stand. Our server was Arthur and he was absolutely phenomenal Food was good. Sangria was nice and strong. Sauce for the shrimp was amazing The restaurant also has many TVs, so the ambience is absolutely great Definitely give this place a shot

Tuesdays are the day to go. They have 31.95 Rodizio. Great price. All the meat you can eat and they will come back again. What they didn't have was the grilled pineapple. They said it usually goes to waste to so they didn't set it up. They all have a Rodizio special for lunch. The sea bass was not great according to my companion. It was a frozen fillet. Didn't taste fresh. The Rodizio on Tuesday is their best offer. It wasn't packed so you could hold a conversation.

I don't know how to describe my experience since I don't consider it bad or good. Food was good, just they forgot to give us something was on the menu. And the restaurant wasn't busy, very clean the restaurant. But was something else missing like that Brazilian vibe.

We went to Casa Nova on Sunday around 4-5, ordered delicious caipirinhas, enjoyed live music with great vibes, and met new friends.

Ended up in Jersey & wanted to take my uncle out for dinner nearby the port he was docked at! Our usual seafood place closed early so I yelp'd a bunch of rodizio places nearby & decided to try this one out! I called & made a reservation ahead of time just in case! Street parking isn't too hard to find! We came a bit early & the restaurant was all to ourselves wooo! The ambiance is decorated old school -- place is spacious & the service itself was good! The meats kept coming out (I wish it was a bit slower so you can thoroughly enjoy your meal but I appreciated the different options we had to choose from), the sides came on a tower (this is new but I loved it so you don't have to get up continuously to go to a salad buffet) & the chips to start with were delish! It was still happy hour (surprised Caipirinha's weren't on the happy hour menu) but we decided to get a bottle of wine that was recommended instead! The wine was dry .. just what we wanted! We ended the meal off with some coffee & were all happily in food coma! (Btw they have grilled pineapple - they didn't bring it out until I asked but that had to be my fav part!!!) Will definitely be back again - want to try out the sangria & next time I know to come hungry heeheee

We always love coming here. Tonight is no exception. Tonight they had live music. The norm is Hubby gets the Rodizio and I always try something new. Each time is an amazing time. Food is delicious and service is great.

As of 04/2022 -Service: have been here 3 times and it seems Service varies in speed depending on season and where you sit. Rodizio service can be slower outside. -Food: -rodizio sides: fried hand cut potto chips (crispy and food), green salad (light, fresh), potato or chicken salad (too much mayonnaise), rice and black beans (very good), fried yucca and fried banana (good). -rodizio: very good. $42 on weekends (starting Friday evening). Although it can be a bit salty, we love the lamb. I like that they bring by well-done pieces of the different meats when asked. -grilled pineapple: love the pineapple after the rodizio. Grilling the pineapple brings out/heightens it's natural sweetness. Excellent! Overall, very good. Will continue to patronize.

There was no way for me to make a reservation online so I took my chance. I was there with two other people and we were lucky to get enough to get there when we did. The place started to get packed quickly. We got a table on the top floor (there is a bottom floor). Our waitress/bartender CiCi was great. She was busy but still attentive. We got Louie Char Grilled Oysters, thai chili wings Catfish nuggets, fries and burger with fries. For drinks, we got blueberry lemon drop martini and margaritas. Both drinks were tad a bit too tart and not strong enough. Our food was delicious. Though I wish the fries were shoestrings fries and it they had a parmesean truffle option. Great place to listen to music, have some good food and drinks before a concert at the Prudential Center

He's the main bartender and he has a terrible attitude. I came in here for about four or five Fridays in a row because my job is right down the block. The buffet is pretty good sometimes. It really is Hit or Miss. The buffet was fantastic some days, but then other days the buffet had barely any food that was good. The buffet is all you can eat and it's $20 if you don't get steak. If you want steak with your buffet, it's 25 and the steak is unlimited. I only got the steak once and it was kind of dry. The food was good but what really turned me off was the service. The man behind the bar has such a bad attitude and we came in here five Fridays in a row and he never really greeted us. He would kind of grunt and throw menus right in front of where we were sitting .I could tell by the way he served us and looked at us that he didn't like me and my partner. Even on our receipt he would write Americans on it. I guess because we weren't Portuguese he didn't respect us. We would leave good tips every time and try to talk to the waitresses and him even using Google translate to try and have a conversation. He just had the most terrible attitude I've ever experienced at a restaurant. We would come in here Friday at around 12:00 and it would be dead. Probably because everybody knows this place sucks. Last Friday when we arrived there was a carpenter cutting into the walls making a terrible loud noise. I even had to tell him hey it's lunch time. You should be doing this work in the morning. I really wanted to leave but we were there to eat and I didn't want to look for another place. I ordered picana which is a typical Portuguese steak. It came super dry and very thin. The only great dish I've ever had here was there their yucca soup. That was terrific. My partner raved about their garlic shrimp. I would not return, especially since we found a place called Sol-mar right around the corner. Better food and way better service. I think the Bartender needs to learn how to serve Americans and not just Portuguese people. I would never return to this restaurant.

Had to flag down someone each time I needed something...never was 'checked on'. Also check your bill prior to signing...the automatically added a 20% gratuity to the bill without out asking OR informing. Horrible and deceptive ...seems to prey on those not paying attention to their bill. ONLY good thing was the food. Good portions but not great. I have had better food and same prices in Ironbound and I will not be back to this establishment

Whether one's in the mood for a cozy family dinner or a casual get-together with friends. Sitting on the banks of the Hudson River in Edgewater, my partner, our friends, and I decided on a celebratory dinner at the Haven Waterfront Restaurant & Bar. A reservation was easily made via OpenTable. Upon arrival as first-timers, we were greeted by the host and got a table immediately by the window inside their floor-to-ceiling dining room, evoking a relaxed yet upscale vibe. Their menu specializes in American/Mediterranean cuisine influenced by seafood, steakhouse, and pasta. For appetizers, we decided on Short Rib Crostini, Kumamoto Oysters, and Yellowin Ahi Tuna Tacos. Our main consisted of Pan-Seared Chilean Sea Bass, 7 oz Prime Cut Filet Mignon, Bangkok Roasted Duck Breast, Lenny's Lobster Pasta, Crispy Lyonnaise Potatoes, and French Butter Asparagus. We even saved room for dessert and got the Bailey's Crème Brûlée and Assorted Dessert Tasting for two. We washed them down with I Dream of Lychees Martini, Berry White Spritz, and Haven Espresso. Complimentary bread with softened butter started our meal. The food is presented like art, and the portions varied depending on what one ordered. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it and fair considering the quality. Our server, Juan, was friendly, accommodating, and took the time to answer all of our questions, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service and food didn't live up to the setting for us. Our waiter, Danny, seemed to have an attitude from the moment we arrived. He hardly checked on our table, and after overhearing his conversations with other tables, it was clear that the energy and attentiveness he gave them felt different from what we received. Since gratuity is automatically included for larger parties, it made the experience even more disappointing. As for the food, several dishes lacked seasoning, including the lobster mac & cheese, salmon, braised short rib, short rib ragu, and lobster croquettes. Our group spent almost $1,400, so unfortunately, we expected more from both the food and service. The views and ambiance are lovely, but based on our experience, I wouldn't return.

We also ordered asparagus, potatoes, truffle Mac and cheese that truly added more flavors to our lobster fest . Finally, dessert was amazing ! We had chocolate cake with walnuts and a mouth watering key lime dessert that added pure joy to our dinner experience Pablo our waiter really was very attentive to our every need . This evening exceeded our expectations and the vibe and lobster decor really showed their attention to detail. I absolutely recommend 87 Sussex ! Definitely an upscale posh restaurant with attentive waitresses. There's a small bar area as well. I wish there was a dedicated space for live music though as that would add something special to this venue. We heard about this place while going to wedding conventions. This place I would say is too small for an actual wedding reception unless you're having a very small wedding. I can see this place as great for small parties, small get together as with like 3 to 8 friends. You can probably reserve the whole place with a buy-out if you wanted to. I can see this place as good for a welcome party or dinner rehearsal maybe. Only downside is parking as it's in a tight location in JC. I also thought it was on a corner but alas I walked into a different restaurant. Still, you can find street parking I'm sure if you venture far enough. There's also the Whole Foods parking deck several blocks down if you are willing to make that couple block walk. Overall I recommend ride share to get here unless you're local, but even then. I would say this place definitely has potential. Would love to see this place come alive with jazz music one day. Did I mention the food and drinks were amazing? See photos. Will be coming back here for sure.
