Went to Six Flags and wanted authentic mexican food and this restaurant really satisfied my cravings! So sad giving this place bad reviews but it really was disappointing. I spent over $50 ordering their Carne Asada Combo, Tilapia Combo, and a chicken tortilla soup and everything was just horrible! The steak was very chewy and tough, tilapia had a bad smell and chicken tortilla was not good. Not a place I would return too unfortunately. The food is good but not consistent. Last time we came everything was crazy salty. Make sure if you come in the evening come BEFORE 7pm. The lady I'm assuming is the owner is incredibly rude if you come in at 7pm or later. They close at 8pm and she will do everything to let you know it! Including having loud conversations with other employees in front of customers where she drops the closing time unnaturally multiple times during the conversation. She, in my opinion, is the biggest detractor for this place. It's like she doesn't want people there and doesn't want money. He vibe is so unwelcoming. Best mexican food ive tried in Santa Clarita by far. Before our food came we were served chips and salsa. They were so good we finished them and asked for more! Nice little place for Mexican food in this area. The carne asada torta and shrimp scampi burrito were delicious and hit the spot. The hibiscus and pineapple margaritas were lacking. They said they prepare and make all the ingredients that come into making the margaritas themselves, which is nice, but the results are rather bland on the pineapple and overly tart on the hibiscus. Could use more alcohol too, since I couldn't taste any hint of it. I still recommend just for the good food and kind service. read more

This review is way overdue, I was meaning to write it a long time ago but I forgot. My fiancé and I stopped by here on our way back to NorCal after a trip to Disneyland in September. He had proposed to me on this trip but that later the same day, my phone was stolen. We had retraced our steps that last morning in SoCal at Downtown Disney asking every store if someone turned in my phone only to add insult to injury from the Disneyland Lost and Found refusing to validate our parking with no sympathy whatsoever. I ended up in tears leaving from the "happiest place on earth." It was a very emotional trip but I digress. We found this place on Yelp of course. We ordered the food and the flour taquitos were delicious but what most stood out to me was the service. The lady who helped us was so kind. Even tho it wasn't the type of restaurant that takes your order at the table, they weren't busy that time so she offered us table service anyway. She was helpful with her suggestions and just took the time to speak with us and asked about what we liked. She let us sample the horchata. She told us about how it was a family owned restaurant and they had changed the name and what not. I don't remember the details but she was so sweet to us. I'm not sure if we even told her about what happened to us during the trip but in any case, her kindness offered a much needed albeit brief respite from an otherwise chaotic time. My fiancé and I fondly remember you even tho we forgot your name! Thanks for being so nice to us and being a lovely reminder that kindness does exist and humanity is not a complete loss. . The chimichanga I got was so oily that I saw US troops getting ready to fight me for it. I drenched 4 paper towels wiping oil up. The chimichanga wasn't closed all the way so it was fried while open. When I got back to work, it was just lying in a puddle of oil. Too bad it took my coworkers and I 45 minutes to order and get our food so I didn't really have time to get something else. I ordered it Mexicana style with caramelized onions and so much regret. All I tasted was caramelized onions. There was more of that than asada. We got there at 715 but we didn't get our orders until after 8pm, after they closed. They had us wait to take our order. They were slammed, so the time it took to get our food is understandable. Let me start off with the positive: The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food is well made and tastes good. The negative: It is overpriced for what you get. A large drink is $3.89. One taco is $6. One taco and one burrito with drinks and tip added up to $30.04. On the American breakfast burrito, I added bacon ($2). The first small bite was had a lot of bacon and I thought - oh my this will be good. That was end of the bacon - In the rest of the burrito there was none. In the end, as nice as they were and as much as we desire to support local businesses, I doubt we will be back. read more

So after putting in my order of mixed combo Baja Fish & Shredded Beef Tacos, with rice and beans. Along with a medium soda with refills. No sooner was I getting my drink, the same young lady that took my order at the counter was patiently standing along side me holding my complimentary chips. She then followed me to a table of my choice and placed them down, along with three small cups for a trip to the salsa bar. Choosing a couple of mild and one medium salsa and bringing them back to the table I was ready for the all important chip test. Fresh chips, with a different texture to them that I'd never experienced before but still satisfying. The salsa was good, but the medium could have used a bit more heat. My plate came out about 15 minutes later, brought by the owner herself with a friendly "enjoy". She seems to have a very hands on approach with every meal, as well as clearing each table. Even though there are other staff members. As for my order I enjoyed my fish taco, though not nearly as much so as at Rubio's. Nice soft tortilla that held up through the entire meal, but I felt that the fish could have used a bit more crunch. The shredded beef taco, not quite so much. I felt I was eating more of a veggie than a beef taco. Not enough beef and rather bland. The sides of beans and rice were on point though. Both above average in freshness and taste. I would give this place a 4, but their menudo recipe has changed about 6 months ago. The soup base is not as good as before, and I used to order this about twice a month. Their old menudo was the best in town and had plenty of tripe and pata. If Casa Pasilla is able to bring that old recipe back, I'll gladly come back on a weekly basis. read more

Santa Clarita has some slim pickings when it comes to Mexican food, Chinese food, Filipino food, etc. I was craving tacos dorados and well, they have this snack combo that was pretty darn good and hit the spot. It comes with 2 tacos, 3 taquitos, a mini tostada, guacamole, sour cream and beans. For Americanized Mexican food, it's yummy. I would totally get it again. You have your choice of meat - beef, chicken, pork, or potato. I got beef, chicken and pork. In the future, I think I'll stick to beef or chicken since the pork had a sweet taste that I didn't prefer. Surprisingly enough, the portion was big. I don't know if this snack combo is to share as in it's supposed to be an appetizer, but I ate everything. And, I was full despite my hearty appetite. Maybe I'll order something else when I return. She told me (I knew this already being married for over 20 plus years) that she judges a Mexican restaurant by its Chile Relleno so they had a duo on the menu so we could each have one and then rice and beans. To me it was really good, nice flavor, well made but she said that the shell was a little too firm and even though she liked the flavor she said that she wouldn't order it again. The food is good, arguably the best Mexican food in SCV. However, I agree with others about their nickel and diming on condiments, salsa, chips. I totally understand it is a small business and money doesn't grow on trees, but as a customer, it is a bad look to charge $5 for an 8 ounce styrofoam container of salsa when I literally just wanted two more little containers. Imagine going to another restaurant and being charged for extra butter when your bread comes. And the hardest part to swallow was when she asked if I wanted chips because they're "free". The new name is tripping me out. It's supposed to be the same food and owner as Rosarito Fresh but something is definitely different. At the "new" place, I tried the nacho fries, shrimp taco, pollo asado plate, and street tacos. Why did everything suck so bad? Even the nacho fries...they were the soggiest heap of sadness I've ever seen and tasted. I will say though that the carne asada was tender, but that's as far as I'll get.
