I like going to Casa Ramos because it is close to home and you can play liars dice at the bar!!! I have had some pretty darn good nachos there (order them with flour tortilla chips instead of the regular corn tortilla chips... AMAZING!!). Now the last visit I tried the taco salad. My "guest" had a taco. OK.. bear with me here... I am not being a meanie but the taco shell was straight from a box (like the ones you buy at the grocery store) and my taco salad was a head of iceberg lettuce with chicken that I think came from a bag (that frozen 10 pack kind) that had a teriyaki flavor to it with a bit of cheese and not very good salsa. I honest was so disgusted that I did not even eat it. Taco Bell makes a better taco salad. I don't know if it was an off night or I just need to stick to the nachos. A girlfriend and I went to this location with our daughters after a day of playing in the park. The staff was very friendly, the food was pretty good...I got the enchiladas, they were delicious. They were very patient as well with my girlfriends requests, as her Daughter has multiple food allergies that are sometimes difficult to accommodate, our server was very professional and understanding of all of our questions about ingredients. There are some updated reviews I hate writing. This isn't one of them! As you can guess from below, I didn't have any intent on returning here. But lately I've had a few people up here in Lincoln saying they like Casa Ramos. So in fairness I finally decided I needed to go back and recheck it. And I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Okay, I was a bit overwhelmed by the Sunflower decor. Now keep in mind this is a chain, even if it's a local one. Consequently, my expectations weren't high. I went for lunch and and had the two enchilada combo. It came with the usual salsa and chips. The salsa actually had a nice little bite to it. The chips were not over salted as is so frequently the case. I had a cheese with a Ranchera sauce and a ground beef with a Mole sauce. The combo came with Mexican rice and refried beans. The rice was pleasant and the refried beans were tasty. As for the enchiladas themselves, the cheese with Ranchera sauce was pretty good and while the ground beef was only okay, the Mole sauce was very good. So over all my experience here was very good for the area. Yes I prefer a nearby national chain and certainly my favorite Mexican restaurant isn't threatened at all by any of the others throughout the area. But, when I"m in the mood for Mexican and working in Lincoln, I won't hesitate to come back to Casa Ramos. Thanks for the great service and the tasty food. read more

Went there last night for the first and last time. I expected a long wait because it's new in Lincoln. My whole family went and it was very hot and stuffy inside. The waiters hardly spoke English and rushed everyone in my party to order. The manager looked like a gangster thug as did all the waiters with their jail bird tattoos, this was very uncomfortable. The menu looks great, lots of options. I had chicken and cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. The enchiladas tasted good, but the beans tasted like pure lard or bacon grease and the rice had a corn filler in it. Woke up this morning dizzy and vomitting, I was very confused and disoriented. Called my sister and she had also been up late at night. We both got food poisoning from the chicken(we think). This place is horrible and unsanitary, do not go here unless you want to be sick. There are a couple local Mexican resturants that are a million times more authentic and cheaper, but the best part is at the other resturants you won't have to worry so much about getting sick. Super yummy. We finally found our place and lucky for us it is very close to our house. People say it's tex mex. Maybe I am unclear on what tex mex is but I beg to differ. I judge Mexican food restaurants on their rice and beans period. I love the decor. Chips don't taste like they are made in house but they say they are. Salsa is amazing and they even bring a non spicy one for the kids out. Margaritas are on point. My only complaint is the bathroom smell. It's clean but it smells like sewage they need to get that under control that's why I gave them 4 stars. read more

My family used to go to Casa Ramos all the time when they were still in Gold River off of Sunrise Ave. However, times have changed it seems. We went to the Lincolin location on Sep 8 of 2014 and were surprised at how bad things were. We were seated right away, but did not see our server for 15 min. The bus boy ended up taking our drink orders...this guy was AWESOME! When he told the server we were ready, the server just shruged his shoulders. Once the food finally came, it was ho-hum at best. The taco shells were not very good and everything was plain to say the least. The quality at Casa Ramos has really gone down the tank since they closed the Sunrise Ave. location in Gold River which was AWESOME!!! Now we go to Felipe's in Citrus Heights...they have the BEST Taco's and the service is Outstanding. Not sure what's happened to Casa Ramo's, but they need to get some people that actually know what it means to serve! read more

Ummm... I thought most mexican food was either great or just yum-ok. This was the worst mexican food I've ever had. Bland, expensive, just not yummy at all. I had a tostada, and I got a plate of lettuce...I searched for the tostada part and it was this teeny-tiny flat shell on the botttom that was so thin it was horribly soggy already. Sure there was meat, beans, and the fixins, but the meat was so bland there was no taste. I ended up pouring sour cream and hot sauce all over it to stomach it. It was a bit on the pricey side for what we got as well. Service was good though. I'd rather hit up a taqueria in Lincoln, or loomis lorenzos instead of eating here. read more

My friend and I went in today for an early lunch at 11:30. Took a long time to get our food. The last time we were there the food was outstanding. They must have gotten a new cook because this time nothing was good except the chips and salsa. Everything was so bland. Not a lick of flavor. Do not order the shrimp taco. I think the shrimp was from a can. I know the quacamole was from a can because of the slimy look and taste. The Mexican rice had a tinge of red color to it, but no flavor. What was Mexican about it? Also, who puts plain cooked beans under the meat on a taco? Not a hint of flavor, so scraped them off. Service was okay. Will not go back. Mediocre food and wasn't very authentic Mexican food. Food was pretty bland. It was maybe a slight step up from Chevy's but well below many other Mexican restaurants in the area. The price was high for the quality of food as it was a little higher than some much better Mexican restaurants around. Didn't even bother sitting down. They had the heater cranked so high (had to have been at least 80 degrees but seriously felt like 90) there was no way I could eat. The heat hit me like a ton of bricks immediately upon entering. I thought maybe the bar area would be cooler but to my disappointment it was just as stifling in there. I understand it's cold outside but this was ridiculous. There was also a terrible smell throughout the establishment, reminded me of bathroom cleaning fluids similar to the smell of a gas station restroom. Between the heat & the odor we walked out. It's been 5 years since we've given Casa Ramos another try. The food was fine, but the interior needs a top to bottom cleaning. I really couldn't concentrate on the food as I was so concerned how clean the kitchen was and if I was going to end up sick. It's truly dirty and needs a professional cleaning top to bottom including the carpets. I even took picture of their HVAC ceiling registers/vents that are dusty and black. Our philosophy is, if they can't keep the front of the house clean, how's the kitchen. We won't be back. :( I'm sure they could be busier if the restaurant had some attention focused on the day-to-day cleaning. I will be writing their corporate office. Been about three times to the "Casa", I like to consider myself a connesuir of Mexican (I eat it at ever meal if possible) , and I would have to say its pretty darn good, solid B+ possibly A-. Salsa is good, rice is excellent, chicken was good quality, what more can you ask for out of Lincoln for godsake ? My only gripe is there's too many kids at this place, felt like I was in a jungle gym. Keep your bratty kids at home. Another strange thing, I went yesterday for lunch, and things had changed, had a grouchy server who was terrible, and the food tasted a little different, did they bring in the A team for the grand opening, then bring in the bench warmers later in the game??? I've eaten at enough restaurants to know that when the owner goes all out on the decor and makes everything overly fancy, the food quality usually suffers big time. And such is the compromise of Casa Ramos. Either their rent is too high or they spent way too much on the decor, but the menu is expensive for what you get. Prices aside, the food really isn't that great. I've head better tacos at lunch trucks and quickie small taquerias for a lot less and with better service. This particular location isn't great, but the one in Sacramento tastes much better and is more authentic. For good chain Mexican food, you're probably better off going to On the Border or, dare I say, Chili's. I hope the food quality improves, but judging from the many reviews, it doesn't seem like the owner here really cares. read more

This place does not disappoint. You can count on getting a steady supply of chips and salsa, and a piping hot plate of deliciousness to follow. I'll admit I only order one thing (the chicken enchiladas) but they are so good. On a side note, I should add that their Spanish rice is the best I have ever tasted in my life. Part of me always just wants to order a huge plate of rice and dive in. It's so fluffy and moist, not overloaded with spices. A great accompaniment to their main dishes. The chicken in their enchiladas is never dry or chewy. It's moist and delicious. The service is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is really festive and clean. Good thing i ordered rice and beans because the chicken tortilla soup was awful. The chicken was bland and the bowl was overcrowded with soggy tortilla strips. I ordered a Tequila Sunrise that was over priced and overly sweet. The service was okay, our waitress checked in on us once and never returned. Although the waitress took my soup off the bill,her attitude lacked enthusiasm. Probably won't go back here in a while, if ever. read more

Went one day for lunch.. service was great. Very quick and staff was all nice. However, food was not too good. Got a burrito.. it was a huge portion - average pricing. Maybe it just sounded better on the menu, but the burrito didn't have much in it and didn't really live up to expectations. Didn't have much flavor either.
