Food here is pretty good and portion sizes are generous. Last few times here the service has been horrible. Went in July 20th with my buddy from out of town and sat in the bar area. Our server was rude and we only saw him to take our order which took 20 minutes and then to bring check. Was not busy, took forever to get in and out of there and as customers, we felt very unwelcome. Wont be spending my money here again when there are plenty of other options with staff who understand customer service. read more

So disappointed in this place. My wife and I are huge fans of Mexican cuisine and had high hopes for the place that took over the Applebees building. To sum it up, come back Applebees! This place has average at best Mexican food. We've tried to be impressed now on 6 occasions and I cannot waste another penny here. Honestly, the food is not horrible but it is not even 'good'. It's just filling. Oh, and by the way that 'filling' will cost you plenty. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this place is the biggest rip off I've ever experienced in the U.S for mexican food, which by it;s very nature should be a bargain. You cannot get out of there under $60 if you want a meal and a drink for 2. On the good side, their margaritas are very good. I'm done with it. I've been going to Casa Ramos Lincoln since it opened. They had a great manager who remembered your name and what you ate the last time you visited. Prices were good! I took my lady friend there recently and had a wonderful meal, full of flavor, and again, priced about right. Last week, we went there again because she was so pleased with her meal. I'll have to say, it was a major mistake. Water, chips and salsa were brought out almost right away. Didn't see a server for almost 5 minutes (chips and salsa were gone as was the water). Finally, the server came again and took our orders. After a very long (possibly 10 minutes or more) the food was delivered. She ordered shrimp tacos and I ordered a carnitas burrito. Her comment was, where are the refried beans. They put whole beans in my tacos. My guacamole is not fresh...looks canned. My burrito was presented totally different than it has ever been before and I've eaten a lot of them there. Normally, because the burrito is so large, they cut it in half, then separate the halves and put salad in the middle with other items on each side. This time, it was whole with a little lettuce sprinkled on top. Her tacos were not even okay. And, my burrito was absolutely flavorless. We didn't get water again until just before the check came out. Lack of service!!! Tasteless food!!! And the place only had one other table with people and it was noon time. Should have told us something. I'll go back one more time to see if it has improved to it's former level. If not, I'll never to there again. Too many local or nearby Mexican restaurants that give good service, good food, and at a good price. read more

**METAL PEICES IN FOOD*** Went to casa ramos several nights ago, probably our fifth time in. This was our first time not getting yesenia (great service) as our waitress. And it was a TERRIBLE experience. unfortunately i didnt get this waitresses name. But she had attitude the minute we came in. I told myself to stop being so quick to judge. Then the food came. I couldve sworn i ordered the chimichanga but she argued with me and said i ordered the enchilada. After making it clear the enchilada wasnt what i wanted she said well you ordered it, and i decided to just eat it since i wasnt 100% sure i didnt misorder. Then, i begin to eat and found metal in my food! The kind of metal peices that youd see on scrubbing device. Upon further investigation my spouse found 2 on their plate, so 4 pieces total! Granted she said sorry, she could not have sounded more annoyed. No manager was ever brought to our table. She simply said oh sorry, what do you want to do. So we payed for the single beer we drank and left our plates untouched. Id think they could atleast waive the cost of the beer, but no. And to top it off, i caught her glaring at us through the window as we left!! Although ive went several times before with no problems, this experience has been enough for me to never return. I've been going here almost since they opened and have always had a great experience. My friend and I were there last night; virtually no one in the "bar" area except patrons seated at the bar...we were the only two sitting at a table. We ordered just one appetizer to start and each a glass of wine. We were virtually ignored the rest of the evening. Our appetizer was partially hot and then ice cold in areas. My friend asked for a second glass of wine and they came over with the wine bottle and refilled her wine glass, which was still about 1/3 full? I've never had that experience in a restaurant. We ordered two items to go and both people who helped us acted as if the never heard of either item we ordered (a salad and a burrito, which we had to describe several times). We were really surprised at their lack of service, totally ignoring us, and how poor the food was. What has happened there? Does anyone know. The place was always amazingly good. The bonus is, I've been sick all night so clearly there was something wrong with our food. read more

I only gave 2 stars because the food was o.k. The service however, was extremely lacking, to be polite. First, I waited almost 20 minutes just to get a glass of water, chips and salsa. When my server (who was also the bartender) finally came, I ordered the Tostada, nothing else. Another 20 minutes later, the server brings me a Taco Salad. I tell him that is not what I ordered. I wanted a Tostada and that was exactly what I ordered. He told me that the Taco Salad was a tostada and that it was what I ordered and proceeded to put it in front of me. I told him to take it away as it absolutely was not a tostada, but a Taco Salad (which is almost $4 more). Then he proceeds to argue with me. I explain that a tostada is served on a flat corn tortilla with the beans, meat and cheese on top. It is not a fried, puffy flour bowl with the meat, beans and lettuce inside (which is what he put in front of me). It wasn't until I refused to pay for it that he took it away. However, he told me if I wanted just a tostada, that I had to order the combination meal. What the hell??? There is something wrong with Lincoln. They just can't seem to get their act together. I have traveled to many countries and have never been served a tostada in a fried flour bowl! Went there last night for the first and last time. I expected a long wait because it's new in Lincoln. My whole family went and it was very hot and stuffy inside. The waiters hardly spoke English and rushed everyone in my party to order. The manager looked like a gangster thug as did all the waiters with their jail bird tattoos, this was very uncomfortable. The menu looks great, lots of options. I had chicken and cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. The enchiladas tasted good, but the beans tasted like pure lard or bacon grease and the rice had a corn filler in it. Woke up this morning dizzy and vomitting, I was very confused and disoriented. Called my sister and she had also been up late at night. We both got food poisoning from the chicken(we think). This place is horrible and unsanitary, do not go here unless you want to be sick. There are a couple local Mexican resturants that are a million times more authentic and cheaper, but the best part is at the other resturants you won't have to worry so much about getting sick. Won't be back! Food and service was marginal! Ordered a Mexican Pizza - no beans. We discussed no beans in detail with the waiter. Part way through the meal we discover that part of the pizza was sitting on beans. When asked the waiter explained that they had to use beans to secure the pizza. When asked why we were not informed he shrugged his shoulders. After waiting over 10 minutes for the manager. the manger explained that they could not make the pizza absent beans. When asked why we were not informed he smiled. He saw no problem with serving us a dish that contained food we specifically had asked not to be included. Not a place I would go again for Mexican food.... I ordered taquitos and they came out looking good but they only gave enough guacamole for at least 1 taquitos. When asked if we can get more he said yes there was a charge..... Umh!!! If your serving 6 taQuito's maybe you should have enough guacamole to accommodate. We told him about the guac issue and he's words were " will guac is expensive and sour cream is cheaper so if you wanted no guacamole give you two scoops of sour cream but if you only want to guacamole we can only give you one guacamole its expensive". When you first walk in and are greeted the staff arent there ready with a big hello and a smile. They just seat you with a straight face, no expression. You get only ONE complimentary basket of chips and salsa, you will have to pay $1.00 if you want another. I ordered an enchilada and taco, it came with rice and beans. I took one bite of the enchiada, it was dry. I ate the taco although the shell was the same gross hard shells you can buy at the store. Nothing tasted homemade and authentic at this place. Live in the area. Been to the restaurant several times. Food meets expectations and is true to Gringo taste. Bar does a good business and drinks are great. The servers wear crisp white shirts and I think that is the way it is supposed to be. Price is not bargain basement, but not at all bad. I have taken Family there and I will do so again. Had my Grandson order in Spanish and the Server was patient and guided him thru the process. My overall impression, good food, not rushed, clean, reasonable prices and Friendly. My husband and I went here and did not enjoy our experience. The salsa and chips were not fresh, and both lacked flavor and were worse than stuff I've had out of a jar. Not authentic at all. The food was alright, however, it was highly overpriced for the portion and taste. The lettuce that came with the meal was old and browned. I asked for a side of sour cream and was given a spoonful and then charged $1.00 for it. I questioned the waiter about the charge and he didn't seem to care, stating "Well, nothing is free." The waiter who took our order initially never checked on us during the meal, and we had to go search someone to get our bill. On a less important note, the menu was difficult to read due to the font style. Would not recommend. read more

This used to be my go to spot when we couldn't decide where to go because simply, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. However, all that changed last night. We walked in, we were greeted and seated within 4mins. We were told that our server would be with us shortly. Instead of the waiter coming over, greeting us, asking how our night was going, and taking our order, we were told that she is too busy with other guests so the bus boy had to take our order. Made us felt like we weren't welcome and super uncomfortable. Then, my lady's water glass was so dirty that there was even lipstick prints all over the corners of it. All the forks and knives were dirty. This was literally the last time I gave this place another chance. The young kid that took our order forgot our fries so we had to remind him. Mind you, we were half way through our dinner. I get that he wasn't a waiter but, he's the one that took our order since the actual waiter was "too busy" to take our order. Never going back again.
