ATM outside. They only take cash at the window
    Ray H.

Just ok food here! I got the steak nachos and they were decent! They loaded up with sour cream and guacamole which was good. The steak was ok but i had better. Now would i buy them again here, probably not! They do have a nice staff here because they served me a bit after they were closing early. The area is kind of shady. I would not eat outside at night. They accept cash only so beware. They do have an ATM outside but i don't know how good it is or if it charges. I have always passed by coming from the traffic circle going to the west side and seen this place many times. I most likely won't visit again since there is tons of other good mexican restaurants around town.

Casa Sanchez is a small little Mexican restaurant with outside seating and a drive thru. Everything about the decor is outdated and not kept up at all. Honestly, you probably wouldn't even notice the place driving by as it kind of looks run down. And because the place is outdoor seating only, the weather has aged and worn it out. But I guess we are here to talk about the food. This location is a CASH ONLY place. So make sure you got cash handy. I don't normally get my Mexican food from here as Los Potros is across the street. But sometimes, they just don't have what I'm craving. Casa Sanchez serves ceviche! And that's something I just crave! And the best part is that it's ceviche tostadas. It's just the perfect amount for one person, at least for me. I normally get shrimp ceviche tostada, which is 4.25 for one or two for 8. Which is a good deal. The prices here for food is actually fairly cheap and decent. The food is pretty good, not the best Mexican food I've had. But it's pretty good. The tacos here are good too. They offer lengua tacos (tongue) which you can't find everywhere. Thei They also have a drive thru which is nice too. It's rare to find a authentic Mexican restaurant that has a drive thru when you're being lazy. But it's literally down my alley from where I live, so I just walk.

Green spaghetti with chipotle sauce and spinach chicken! Delicious

Not your ideal place when you first drive by BUT omg the food is absolutely delicious, the owner is super nice ! Today we stopped by and he made a special request for us. This place also catered food for my daughters 15th birthday party and the quality was amazing

This is one of the best Mexican food restaurant in Long Beach and I'm so fortunate to find it. The food is delicious and they have a drive thru if you're not dining in and plenty of parking spots if you are. The food is delicious, good portions, service is always friendly and attentive. My favorite is their grilled fish tacos and shrimp cocktails! The wet burritos are pretty massive and flavorful. They have outdoor sitting and it's cash only, they have an atm for your convenience.

So glad we found this spot. It was open late and the tacos were amazing. So was the nachos. We sat outside and enjoyed our food. The employees/owners were so nice to us as well. And so inexpensive. I wish we had a chance to go try more food. I had the carnitas and pastor tacos - yum. And the avocado made my day.

Order here and they got a drive thru

We had family in town and needed a last minute reservation on a Sunday for 12 people. The qualifications: AC and delicious food. Panxa Cocina fit all of the above and the entire squad left the restaurant raving about their experience. Our crew shared a bit of everything fried squash, queso, ceviche, enchiladas, and their verde chilaquiles with over easy eggs and chicken. Each of these items were delicious, but I'd return for the ceviche and chilaquiles. The ceviche was a delicious mix of sweet and salty. Their tortilla chips are made fresh in-house and paired perfectly with the fresh cut fish. I was also impressed by their cocktails. With family in town, we visited a number of fan-favorite restaurants across the coastline. Panxa stole the show for best mixed drink: the watermelon margarita. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

This is one of those places where you know exactly what you're going to get every time--great food and excellent service. The service is consistently excellent. The staff is attentive, friendly, and does a great job of checking on the table without being overbearing. Their salsa is probably some of the freshest and best I've ever had. It has great flavor and is one of the things I look forward to every time I come here. My absolute favorite is their green chile pork, which I get as a chile verde wet burrito. It is outstanding. I honestly haven't tried a huge portion of the menu because when I find something I really like, I tend to stick with it--and their chile verde wet burrito is just too good for me to pass up. That said, I've also had their ceviche, which is very good, along with their hard-shell tacos. Even the basics like the rice and beans are consistently good. I try to make it to Enrique's at least once a month, and after dozens of visits, they continue to deliver. Consistency means a lot to me when it comes to a restaurant, and Enrique's has earned my repeat business. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

First, we asked for a spicier salsa, and we were told that it could only be served with our meal. What's the point of getting the salsa with the meal when we wanted to enjoy it with our chips beforehand? They also used to offer free horchata refills, but apparently that is no longer the case. Unfortunately, they also got our food order wrong. We specifically ordered beef enchiladas, and my husband repeated the order three times, yet we received shrimp enchiladas instead. Overall, the experience just isn't what it used to be. It feels like they are nickel-and-diming customers for everything, even something as simple as salsa or a horchata refill. I understand they are renovating the front of the building, and perhaps the cost of the renovations is contributing to these changes, but the customers shouldn't feel the impact of that. The staff at the front may look nice and presentable, but unfortunately, the overall service doesn't feel as customer-focused as it once did. At this point, I would recommend looking for another restaurant where the service and hospitality are more consistent and where you don't feel like you're being charged for every little thing.
