ATM outside. They only take cash at the window
Ray H.

Just ok food here! I got the steak nachos and they were decent! They loaded up with sour cream and guacamole which was good. The steak was ok but i had better. Now would i buy them again here, probably not! They do have a nice staff here because they served me a bit after they were closing early. The area is kind of shady. I would not eat outside at night. They accept cash only so beware. They do have an ATM outside but i don't know how good it is or if it charges. I have always passed by coming from the traffic circle going to the west side and seen this place many times. I most likely won't visit again since there is tons of other good mexican restaurants around town.

Green spaghetti with chipotle sauce and spinach chicken! Delicious

Not your ideal place when you first drive by BUT omg the food is absolutely delicious, the owner is super nice ! Today we stopped by and he made a special request for us. This place also catered food for my daughters 15th birthday party and the quality was amazing

Casa Sanchez is a small little Mexican restaurant with outside seating and a drive thru. Everything about the decor is outdated and not kept up at all. Honestly, you probably wouldn't even notice the place driving by as it kind of looks run down. And because the place is outdoor seating only, the weather has aged and worn it out. But I guess we are here to talk about the food. This location is a CASH ONLY place. So make sure you got cash handy. I don't normally get my Mexican food from here as Los Potros is across the street. But sometimes, they just don't have what I'm craving. Casa Sanchez serves ceviche! And that's something I just crave! And the best part is that it's ceviche tostadas. It's just the perfect amount for one person, at least for me. I normally get shrimp ceviche tostada, which is 4.25 for one or two for 8. Which is a good deal. The prices here for food is actually fairly cheap and decent. The food is pretty good, not the best Mexican food I've had. But it's pretty good. The tacos here are good too. They offer lengua tacos (tongue) which you can't find everywhere. Thei They also have a drive thru which is nice too. It's rare to find a authentic Mexican restaurant that has a drive thru when you're being lazy. But it's literally down my alley from where I live, so I just walk.

This is one of the best Mexican food restaurant in Long Beach and I'm so fortunate to find it. The food is delicious and they have a drive thru if you're not dining in and plenty of parking spots if you are. The food is delicious, good portions, service is always friendly and attentive. My favorite is their grilled fish tacos and shrimp cocktails! The wet burritos are pretty massive and flavorful. They have outdoor sitting and it's cash only, they have an atm for your convenience.

Tacos !

So glad we found this spot. It was open late and the tacos were amazing. So was the nachos. We sat outside and enjoyed our food. The employees/owners were so nice to us as well. And so inexpensive. I wish we had a chance to go try more food. I had the carnitas and pastor tacos - yum. And the avocado made my day.

Order here and they got a drive thru

They were just awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand award this week for their excellent, affordable food. One thing that I appreciate about their tacos is that their meats have varied textures. The costilla (rib meat) is a crowd pleaser as you get the taste of the grill/charcoal. They have tripe that is crispy with corn nut texture. Cabeza (face meat) has a stewed texture. Unlike most places in LB, there is two hours free parking conveniently located across the street at the Harvey Milk Community Lot. This is easily one of the best options for tacos in Long Beach and, if you haven't had it yet, then you really should! This is the type of place that we need to support!

We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

It's normally taco Tuesday or dinner. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Mainly everyone was seated outside which we wanted a table as well. There was one that we were interested in and asked if we could have it which the waitress working was ok with. But it needed clearing up. It took a while for someone to come out and clear and clean the table up. It was fine waiting but it was like did someone forget about us. Anyways. We got seated and then the waiting continued. It could be that they were short staff but it seemed like there was only one person working. It took a while for someone to finally come back and acknowledge us and take our order. After that the chips and salsa were brought out. Once we ordered the drinks it was easier to place everything together. Menu for happy hour is pretty limited. A few drinks and beer on drafts and for food, maybe 6 items on the menu. Went with an order of the street corn which was quite tasty. An order of the mole chicken nachos and the queso dip with barria. Out of the three, the queso dips and the street corn were great. Nachos were good but nothing really major. The flavors of everything were quite tasty. Dishes were 12.00 an item. For happy hour, it was decent and what we had was good. The service was pretty slow at the beginning. Only the front patio and inside seating was available as the back patio wasn't open. We did start to see other staff walking in so maybe there was only one staff during the time.

The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

The food itself was actually decent and flavorful, so I'll give credit where it's due. However, the service was extremely disappointing. The employee who took our order had a very negative and dismissive attitude toward us from the start. I'm not sure what the reason for the attitude was, but as a Black couple we couldn't help but feel unwelcome based on how we were treated. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and no one should feel uncomfortable when spending their money at a business. Because of the way we were treated, we won't be returning. Hopefully management takes feedback like this seriously and works on improving the customer service experience for everyone.

The ceviche is basically an entrée disguised as an appetizer, and the chicken arroz soup hits every time. I opted for the carne asada plate - simple and not spicy. Hubby ordered the Carne en su Jugo- very spicy with tomatillo broth and serranos, cilantro, bacon and onions. Both of our entrees came with bean soup and tortillas. The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. He wished the broth had some rice, though, to accompany it. We could come back weekly to try many more entrees. Their salads sound tasty, too. Service was great.

It was open seating when we arrived which majority of the tables was taken where all the television were. The main dining area had a television set up but main bar area was where the action was taking place. We got lucky as there was a table available along the wall with perfect view of the game. Of course it was rain delayed so more time to enjoy food and drinks. Also it was happy hour and taco Tuesday all at the same time. As the game was happening, one of the tequila sponsors was there offering deals. Shot and a jersey. Tony took care of us that night and he was amazing. Made sure that we got everything we needed. Very sweet as well. Happy hour menu offered a good amount of items for a great deal. As well as draft beer and cocktails. Regular menu is great as well which we've had before. Food, an order of the tostada both with shrimp and aguachili. Served with two small tostada and handful of crevice on top. Both were quite tasty and very well flavored in the juice. Also two of the street tacos with birria. They were quite small but did have a major punch of flavor to it. And well priced at 2.50 a piece. Of course the crinkle cut loaded fries with added carne asada. Seemed like it was a popular item as every table had it. It was good but a little skimpy with the topping. Lastly the chicken wings, lemon pepper flavor. Six piece tossed in the sauce. It was good but way too salty for my liking. We still enjoyed everything we had. As we got the shot with the jersey earlier, the person who was affiliated with the sponsor brand was walking around with more shot. I must say, it does hit the spot big time...lol... The crowd was lively with everyone all there for the same reason. The game and good company. First time for happy hour and it was nice. We had a great time and everyone working was the sweetest. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH.
