Service was good. I went with a party of three, we all ordered cocktails. None of us liked our drinks, tried to swap, but we didn't like the other drinks either. Food was very bland, menu is pretty much all the same. It's basically either beef, chicken, or lamb with rice. I ordered chicken, it was really dry. Food is bland, not much flavor, and definitely not memorable. Really large portions though, so if you do go you can share an entree with a friend. Casablanca is our go to place for any special event we have from birthdays to graduations. One thing that I love about Casablanca is that they are very accommodating for larger crowds, and do not require a deposit or make the group pay a certain amount if they don't meet a food minimum. This makes it a great place because not everyone wants to order full meals when getting together, and would much rather enjoy some drinks and hookah. They stored our birthday cake in the back in a fridge for us to keep to it cold and then brought it out after dinner with sparklers and an additional free dessert as we all sang happy birthday, they were very sweet! The food is delicious and very decent serving sizes. I always order their hummus and rose lemonade anytime I'm there, it's a staple! They have a variety of different hookah flavors to choose from and they are very reasonably priced. On week nights they have many different deals, on some nights bottles of wine are 50% off! If you're looking for a fun place to bring your friends, or a large group event that's not going to break your wallet, Casablanca is the perfect spot. It's a very mellow and chill vibe, unless you're there on Friday evenings where they have lovely belly dancers who dance around the restaurant. Perfect date night spot! read more

Haven't been here in years since I now live 1.5 hours away but we were there 8-18 and had a great time. Were spending time with family (who also live out of town) and we never got rushed to move along even though our slow evening ended up being at least 2+ hours long. Had a lovely time sitting outside. Food was even better than we remembered and Ashley our server was FANTASTIC! At the end of our evening when talking to her she informed us this was her first night. She's a great asset for you. The food looks great now that I am home, but this was the worst covid service I have seen. The cashier appears with my order 10 minutes after I called to say I was there, (customer ahead of me does not have his mask on). Staff is roaming around without masks on, and she rings up my order with her nose above the mask. She asks me to step closer to sign receipt, which I refused until she put on her mask. The food here is so good and am really glad they are open during the pandemic. That said, they do need to tighten up the quality control when it comes to including all of the items on the order. It's happened on two consecutive orders. Luckily, they were small items both times, baklava on the first and tzatziki on yesterday's order. This was my first time eating middle eastern food, and it was more than I expected. It was AMAZING. It took almost an hour to seat our group of 6 at 9:30pm but the place was packed on a Saturday so that was our faults. The environment is very nice, great music, nice lightning. Now to the food, I got the beef shawarma and the casablanca burger. The beef shawarma was very good, seasoned very well and cooked just right. The burger was also amazing. Our waitress Christine also made this a 5 star experience. She came by our table very frequently and made sure the food was good, our drinks filled, and that the hookah was hitting right. It's my first time ever at casablanca and I'm excited. I'm meeting a group of friends that have been there for about an hour. I get there and notice that everyone has a drink, so I go to the bar and order a rum and coke (I'm 22). To my surprise, the bartender takes my ID and brings it to the back. He says "your ID is very flexible." To that I reply: "I'm aware, that's how IDs from Minnesota look." About 5 minutes later, the manager comes out and tells me it's a fake. I try taking to him and offering him other forms of ID that corroborate my name and identification, but he decides to laugh and walk away. So, of course, I call the non emergency number police (I don't want to spend $20 at the DMV). After he sees me calling he tells me I can have my (real) ID back, but that I am not allowed to have any drinks at the bar. At that point, I leave the establishment. As a result of my experience, all I can say is that they have poor leadership and focus too many resources on confiscating real IDs instead of working to improve customer service. Unbelievable. Went during 1/2 price appetizers hours. We ordered all appetizers plus drinks and hookah. When bill came all appetizers were full price. Asked and they said not anymore but it was even in the menu that appetizers were 1/2 off. She said sorry. Then the manager came and said there is a sign and there was no sign. Only a sign that said no drink specials. No compromise at all. Worst experience from the moment we walked in the door. While we were waiting, we ordered drinks from the bar. We asked the bartender if we could stand at the drink pick up location while we ordered and paid for the drinks. Another waitress came and audibly telling her coworkers that we need to get out of the way and very rude. I was hoping that she wasn't going to be my server. And surprise, she was. When ordering hookah, we asked if we could mix three flavors. She stated that's probably going to taste like sh%# cause she's a hookah smoker and it didn't sound good. Not professional, could have used better terminology. She brought the appetizers and our food out at the same time. I think she was already annoyed from the bar so she purposely didn't run our food out when it was done. Everything was cold. When AZ the manager was told about the situation, she told that she honestly didn't care and wanted the tip from our table regardless, if they had someone take over. 200$ for cold food and an attitude. My family of 4 had the Sunday buffet brunch here. The food was okay for the price. But the restaurant imposed atop the price of the meal a mandatory 18% gratuity. This is my first experience that a restaurant adds an 18% gratuity for a party of 4; usually a party of 5 or more requires that gratuity. I would have even paid up to 20% if the service was prompt and if the waitress wasn't rushing us up by asking us to hand in the check while we were still eating our desserts. Prompt service requires the server to voluntarily clear up the plates without us calling or waiting for the servers to clear the plates up. read more

I spend most of the year traveling down south. Every now and then I get the chance to travel north. My destination was for the first time Milwaukee, WI. I was in town for a few days and decided to get a drink. I had a black car service pick me up. I ask my driver where he recommends I go for a drink, he told me about this restaurant/lounge Casablanca. So I went. I walked in and sat the bar. My bartenders name was R.J.....I think? Long story short, the cocktails where great, the conversation kept me longer then I expected. The lady to the right of me dressed very well, but the smell of her perfume was out of this world. I wish I knew what it was, I would buy it for my wife in a heartbeat. It was so relaxing, many, many personalities that make that place what it is. I grew up in the bronx, my mom and dad are from Italy and moved us to the U.S. when we were little. I read some of these post dating back as much as a year. It shocks me to see someone complain about the lighting, its a lounge, it has low lighting...we get it! Not your style, I'm sure there's a dive bar some where. To see some reviews talk about the recipe or what's traditional and what's not. My mother owned a small Italian dinner and got criticized the same way. But it was Italian because my mom is Italian and its her recipe not Italy's, but hers! Casablanca will not have the same recipe as a another middle eastern restaurant, it has It's own. It's unique because of that. My first time being there, in Milwaukee as well. If my travels bring me back, then back to Casablanca I'll go! It had been to long! We were so glad to have returned to one of our favorite eateries! The service provided by Andrew was spot on. Very attentive, yet never overboard. Accommodating to our allergy issues and quite adamant about getting all the information to us. His timing for all aspects of the evening were perfect. The food was spectacular. The original beef kabob was tender and juicy; the portion quite generous. Cooked to our liking. The Basmati rice was flaky and moist. Dinner salad was crisp, fresh and the house dressing to die for. Mediterranean restaurant on hip hop Brady Street. The unique thing about this place is that it offers all vegetarian buffet throughout the week but Sunday. Food was okay especially for this price, I should say it was good. Quite a few varities on the bar. Besides food, I loved the ambience and atmosphere, it was very lively, great music playing, servers were very friendly which is uncommon on buffets, outside sitting on the second level just like a balcony or a deck, the inside is also very bright with lot of natural light through huge Windows. Either the people giving 5 stars have never had good middle eastern food, or my experience was an outlier. Regardless, I will not be returning to Casablanca. This was quite possibly the worst dining experience I've had in Milwaukee. We went in a group of 8 and I never set high expectations for exceptional service when I dine with large parties. However, I do not plan on being tricked into paying extra. Many of us had ordered the shawarma sandwich and our waitress, who had been rude and short with us the entire night, asked everyone "would you like cheese on that" (after listing the many types of cheese options). First off, Swiss cheese on a shawarma sandwich does not make sense. Second, if a cheese is $3 extra (nearly an additional 50% addition to the price of the meal itself), don't you think it would be appropriate to mention that before 5 people decide to order it? When it came time to split the bill, this turned into a logistical nightmare. "Oh sorry, we can only take 3 credit cards." After looking through the receipt trying to figure out who ordered what, we found out that there was an additional $30 for our large party. If I could insert expletives into this review, there would be many in this sentence. We arrived at casablanca before 5 p.m and did not leave until 7:30. Mind you, almost every table around us was empty. To say the service was 'slow' would be a gross understatement. I don't think I've ever experienced service that slow in my life. Aside from the negatives, the meal itself was not that bad. However, nothing really stood out. If you are looking for authentic middle eastern, this is absolutely not it. If you are looking for rude and deceptive service and also looking to spend most of your evening in a restaurant, casablanca is the place from you. read more

Honest opinion : Food is pathetic. None of the items on the menu were good. We ordered Chicken Shawarma and Chicken Sheesh Kabob. The shawarma's bread wrap was too hard to chew and was as good as stale. The sheesh kabob was dry , tasteless and didn't have salt in it. And come on, which Mediterranean restaurant does not serve Garlic sauce with Shawarma???!!! Ambience is good though, belly dance was entertaining. For years now my friend John, the Certified Italian Chef has been raving about the Casablanca being one of his favorite restaurants. In fact he comes here at least 30 times a year. So with it his turn to buy during our weekly encounters and him driving, I was forced to head for this landmark on Brady Street. John, who has been a vegetarian now for more than five years, loves Casablanca's daily lunch buffet ($8.95) and while I'm the meat eater among us, I was afraid there might not be anything I liked on the menu. After all, I didn't ever plan on coming here. From the moment we were seated and handed two different menus, I was pleasantly surprised. First, Andrew our server welcomed us with a big smile and warm "hello" and second, taking the tour of the lengthy Buffet, this was a unique place. The dark interior gave an impression of an upscale restaurant but with very reasonable prices. There is even an Entertainment Book coupon to get you started. With nothing on the Buffet table despite a wide variety of Middle Eastern offerings I don't eat, I ordered the Beef Kabobs ($9.95) and was richly rewarded. Five individually grilled medium-well fileted pieces of delicious beef and surrounded by a heaping serving of the best basmati rice I have ever had, made for a perfect lunch. It even came with a choice or soup or salad. Thank you John! Although the food was indeed the star here and of course it should be, our server Andrew came in a close second. With a great personality and a desire to make sure all his tables were enjoying the Casablanca experience, he was indeed a professional. Newly renovated, this place is g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s. It's a beautiful spot to take a date, with its low lighting, big windows, curtains, and shiny leather booths. I had the lunch buffet today, and wasn't 100% impressed though. Yes, I realize that buffet food will never be as great as food prepared in a kitchen, so I lowered my expectations accordingly, but I was still slightly disappointed. The falafel wasn't great, it was really sharp and hurt my mouth to eat it, I much prefer Sherezade's over Casablanca's. I also expected more hot, main course type options. There were lots of sauces and dips offered, but not much in the way of entree style food. My last complaint (I promise!) was that there weren't labels on anything! This is a MUST for a buffet, and it is inexcusable. That detail definitely made my experience more confusing and less enjoyable. Hell, I like to know what I'm eating so that I can recommend it to friends in the future, na'am saying Casablanca? The stewed vegetables were divine though, as were the roasted carrots. The desserts were super yummy (and four to choose from! yay variety!). The service was friendly and very good: recognizing that we were just in for a fast buffet meal and didn't have time for menus or much chit chat. She gave us our check very speedily! A server that can identify when customers are in a rush and when they want to be schmoozed is a rare find. Usually I like to interact more, but on this occasion her brevity and understanding were much appreciated. The prices are more expensive at night, and I can't eat any more then than I do at noon, so lunch is our preference. This is definitely a hot spot in Milwaukee. I really enjoy their hookah flavors and their food. The only things I am not fond of is their hookah hose and their service. I've been here 2 times before but this third time was just all bad. Waters weren't refilled, my mouth was dried out the whole entire time. I had to grab a friends water that she wasn't drinking and drink that. And the hose situation, seriously? Twice, we complained to our waitress (Jade was her name btw) about our hose and there was still rust pieces shooting into our mouths after she changed it twice. We just decided to leave it alone and try to enjoy our hookah. She even had the nerve to say, "oh its suppose to be like that sometime." What the heck? That's if you don't clean it. I have a hookah myself and I hookah all the time, and I never had that problem because I clean my hose out properly. She finally admitted the fact that it was a bad hose but it seriously took her that long to realize that? We also had a party of 6+ and our waitress specifically said that if we had a party of 6 or more it is required to have a second hookah. We were going to order another hookah regardless because we don't like to smoke just one flavor. It gets boring. But after the rest of the party arrived, our second hookah wasn't placed on the table yet. So we flagged down our waitress and ask for our second hookah. She just asks, "you guys ordered a second one?". Well... uhm... didn't you say it was required? How could you forget a rule that you probably made up. I even asked a regular, who is a client of mine, if it's required to get 2 hookahs for a party of 6+ more and she said no! Wow.. really?? And she also put gratuity on our bill. I understand that we are a huge party but she definitely didn't deserve the added gratuity. Overall this place is okay. I really like the food. But the service was just all bad. I did not believe I could love Casablanca any more, but I'll be damned. I do. Took a group of consultants/friends there last night and as usual, it was a stellar experience. My friends were able to partake in the hookah and loved it. Admittedly, there were 6 of us so without reservations we had to wait a bit. But once seated, we were in the upstairs dining room. And let me just say, it was worth the wait. That new addition is incredible. You can tell that no detail, nor any expense, was spared. I cannot wait for the new balcony patio this summer. All I have to say is WOW! First, off the atmosphere and the attire of the restaurant is beautiful and there are different ambiences on each floor, including the balcony. I loved the elegance yet friendliness of the servers. My boyfriend and I chose to sit outside on the balcony on the second floor, and it was well worth the wait. We had our server bring us hookah, which actually burned for almost two hours and it was some of the strongest that I have ever had. I ordered the grape leaves and was a little nervous, and my boyfriend said it did not look that appetizing, but it was so amazing. I have never had a dish like it before, but I would order it again and again and again. With my entrée, I had the lentils soup, which was phenomenal. Every Thursday, they have a select martinee for only 5 dollars. This is probably my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee. I cannot wait to return! read more

BUT that was the restaurants delivery service posted on their website. The manager told us we were "on our Own" to resolve this. Avoid this place! read more
