I came here on a Friday night without reservations (my understanding is that it's walk in only for small groups). I was initially concerned that the wait would be long since it was packed with people, but my group of four people was seated immediately. As we waited for our server to come by our table to take our orders, I casually looked around the room to get a sense of the vibe of this restaurant. It's basically a Mexican food restaurant that's Casablanca themed. The walls are decorated with different variations of Casablanca movie posters. But the restaurant does have more character than that. It has a very lively and fun atmosphere which I think would be great for after work happy hours. In fact, they had a person walking around with a mobile margarita cart to make margaritas table side. I won't say the service here is spectacular, but it was better than I expected given how busy this restaurant was. I didn't see an empty table for any extended period of time. What sets this restaurant apart from other Mexican restaurants is the fact that they make the flour tortillas fresh in the dining area. They give you these tortillas nice and warm in lieu of tortilla chips. The food here is excellent, including those fresh tortillas. I had the Queso Fundido, and Red Enchiladas. I would recommend both. For my drink, I had a virgin pina colada. It tasted very good, but it wasn't fully blended. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but it had chunks of ice in it. I would have preferred for it to be fully blended. The restaurant has a parking lot, but there are not a whole lot of spaces given how popular this place seems to be. You may have to drive around the restaurant to find street parking. Final thoughts - I'm not going to say this is one of the greatest Mexican food restaurants I've been to, but it's definitely worth checking out if you want to to go to a restaurant with a unique and fun vibe.

This was my second time to Casablanca- talk about traveling in a time capsule! Unlimited fresh tortillas with a green salsa and large chunks of cheese. A Cadillac margarita cart and huge portions of fajitas and combo plates at super reasonable prices. Will continue to return again and again!

It's my favorite restaurant, the drinks, the vegetables, the desserts, everything is very delicious, the very good service here, we always enjoy the best moments with my family. The atmosphere is super nice, very pleasant and romantic

I went to Casablanca Restaurant with some pals today. I had the Two Chicken Enchiladas meal. I thought the green salsa on my enchiladas was a bit overly salty. I thought my meal was decent overall. I love the tortillas made on site along with the accompanying green salsa. I love the live music. I appreciated the staff honoring one of my pal's bday with song and a slice of cheesecake.

Such a fun and inviting restaurant! Locals know it as a favorite themed restaurant for entertaining and serving delicious food. We did call ahead to make a reservation since they are packed every night. We were seated once our entire party arrived (as we did come a bit early). As soon as we were seated we were greeted by our server who took our orders right away. We did miss the margarita cart because our server was too quick with the drink orders, but that's okay, we were just happy to get our margaritas! The margs were quite strong at first, but after mixing them a bit more the marg had a perfect balance of mix to tequila. We did receive our salsa verde and fresh homemade tortillas right away. I would give 5/5 stars for this restaurant due to their tortillas alone. No other notes needed. Honestly all I needed was their margaritas and tortillas! I did end up ordering the chicken fajitas for my entree and it did not disappoint. The seasoning of the chicken and veggies was so flavorful. When I was served my entree I didn't receive tortillas and my friend that ordered tacos also did not receive tortillas, which I did find a bit weird. We ended up requesting tortillas for our meal and eventually we did receive them after two separate requests. I'm not sure if that's how the meals usually come or if they just forgot our tortillas but it all worked out. Otherwise, the service we received was good. Again, would go back for the tortillas alone. Just a heads up! There are not a lot of spaces in their parking lot so be prepared to find street parking and walk or uber/get dropped off there.

Our family came here for an early Father's Day lunch. When we entered, the restaurant was pretty empty but we were presented with fresh hand made tortillas. To say these were addictive is an understatement. Their menu had the usual fare that you'd find in a Mexican restaurant. However, I wanted to try their calamari after seeing pictures on Yelp. I was not disappointed. It was a generous portion of tender calamari with a sauce that included a few bay scallops. Others at our table seemed to enjoy their meal as well. The restaurant was decorated with a Casablanca theme, of course, which made sense given the name of the restaurant. Prices were reasonable. Free parking in their adjacent lot.

On our way home from LAX, we were starving and as it was my sister in law's (and brother in law) wedding anniversary, who both love, love Mexican food...I made a bee line for Casablanca Mexican restaurant. I've made numerous visits but it's literally been 12 years since my last visit. I can only account for what I ordered, the Chimichangas, which was delicious and filling ! That said, everyone, a party of 7people, universally loved their food! Particularly the hand made tortillas! My wife, children, and in-laws had never had freshly made tortillas (at other Mexican restaurants). The fresh tortillas were a revelation! We received very good attentive service and didn't have to think twice about water and soda efills. Lastly, my in laws were touched that they got an acknowledgement of their anniversary on their dessert. The team took care of the little things and the food spoke loudly. We're not in the area often but will remember this experience! One last note: parking isn't plentiful! We found street parking and walked.

We had a really good experience at Casablanca. There is some parking but it does it crowded, so you may have to search for street parking. There was a little of a wait but nothing crazy. The fresh tortillas are the standout. They have chefs making the tortillas within view, which was cool for some in our party. The portion sizes are large and the food was really good. We had no complaints there. Will definitely be back.

this place has quickly become my go-to place to take out-of-towners. go for dinner. went on a friday & was seated in the patio. at first, i was nervous it'd be too chilly, but no. heaters. and are we in austin bc hello live music. of course, their tortillas are THEE best (enchiladassss omg), but can we talk about their rice? seriously, does anyone know more about it? it's giving... cornmeal or something, & i am obsessed. can you tell im from the midwest? lol margarita cart is bae. gonna be that girl & say get the skinny marg. it's so fresh. the service was outstanding & friendly. i love this place & can't wait to go back :'-)

Popped in for some lunch at this establishment that has been opened for over 40 years in Venice. When you walk in, you feel like you stepped into a history museum with all the collectibles lining the walls, tables, ceiling and more! Plus the old vibe of the bar takes you back! The restaurant features a massive bar and bar seating. Plus there is the main dining room with tables and booths. Also there is a small patio area. As for food, the restaurant features strong drinks and calamari. Unfortunately I did not try these items as I had my mind focused on fajitas and guacamole. Before we could even order we were greeted with homemade tortillas: freshly made right in front of us. As for guacamole, it is sold at market price: we learned that the price of the day was 16 dollars, a bit steep! Too steep! Plus we received our steak fajitas for 23 dollars: there was plenty of meat offered, plus small guacamole, rice, refried beans and peppers. Plenty of food for two people to share. The meat was a bit tough and fatty/grisly for me. I also like my meat not well done, but medium rare. Rice was a bit blah! The best item was the green salsa and tortillas. Overall the restaurant was ok! I appreciate the fresh tortillas and salsas! Plus

Casablanca Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Casablanca Restaurant

Are there any vegan options?

Hi Jason! I posted a review on this.

Is there Happy hour?

No. One set menu and the server will predictably try and push you to order one of their overpriced menu items that are ALL garbage. But tortillas are good. But not worth coming back.

For street parking, which streets are good to look for spaces?

Is Casablanca vegetarian-friendly? What type of vegetarian items are on their menu?

They have some vegetarian options in the menu. But is not a vegetarian restaurant.

Is there an outdoor area here! And if so are small dogs allowed? Thank you!!!!

Where's your most updated menu? All I see is Sunday brunch menu

Do they do on line reservations? or call only?

Reservations are not taken

Do they have happy hour?

No - their hostess told me they do not offer happy hour.

Is mimosa brunch available on weekdays?

No, I believe it's only on Sundays.

Do they allow pets?

They do not. No outside sitting area.

What time is the Sunday brunch?

They open at 11am on Sundays. Enjoy!

Do they have kids menu?

They don't have a kid's menu but they do have a la carte dishes that may suit your children.

Do they still do the Sunday brunch with bottomless sangria?

Yes they do!!

Call ahead for patio reservations!…read more This place is really pretty! Lovely decor, comfortable seats and an amazing view of the beach! We didn't know we would need reservations for the patio so we had to sit inside.. it was still lovely. My friend and I both got the chorizo breakfast burrito. It did NOT come with the pickled onions which we didn't realize until after we left.... The potato's were tater tots which was disappointing. I dont think any one expects tater tots in their burrito when it says "potato's." It was still good. Te salsa was a little spicy but I loved it. Side of avocado was 1/4 of an avocado. Huge burrito with tiny amount of avocado.. Friend got a mimosa and I got a French 75. Yummy Service was ok. They were busy so we didn't see our server much. We will definitely come back for the view alone even just for drinks. Lovely place.

When I reviewed the menu online the menu they offered or should I say had listed had a very wide array of different options to choose from. I was really excited to surprise him here. As we entered there was no staff around so we were just standing there for a while and a line began to form, the restaurant was not busy at all, but the bar was almost full. We were seated and our waiter was the most impersonal waiter ever, he never even said his name, to us. It was like he was a robot. Again to see that the menu was not the same was disappointing, yet our appetizer came out super fast and over all the food was bland and nothing special for the price point, yet it did come out hot, which was a plus. I had asked for the server to sing him happy birthday and for a desert to be brought out and I picked out the desert to add to the bill and he said that he could not do that service, yet before leaving 2 other servers were bringing out deserts and singing happy birthday to 2 other tables. The view was pretty, I'm sure this place is beautiful and wonderful for brunch, but for dinner this is not a place to be for elevated dining. I was better off taking him to SALT for a better dining and food experience.

The vibe is casual and beach chic. All of the food is delicious and this is one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The restaurant has very few parking spaces on site. The only downside is that the paid parking is ridiculously expensive. Anywhere from $10 to 15 minutes to an hour, $20 for two hours and the price goes up and up. There is one hour metered parking nearby which isn't very convenient if you have to keep going back to refill the meter. If you're lucky you might find distant street parking that is unpaid. This is nothing against the restaurant, but as Venice as a city in general. High prices like these without any special validation, are sure to keep people from coming to these places at all if you can't afford it. Perhaps that's how Venice would like to keep it. Only people who can afford the parking are allowed to enjoy these businesses.

The ambiance was very chill California energy (I'm from New York lol), which I loved. The decor also was giving spa vibes in a good way. Byredo hand soap in the restroom, okayyyy! My server Joshua was super friendly and attentive, appreciated his good energy. Breakfast menu had a lot of delicious sounding options but I went for the breakfast burrito with hot sauce and it was fantastic. Breakfast burritos are very hit or miss IMO and this was a hit. I also had two cappuccinos bc I am a caffeine fiend and also jet lagged and they were both very good. Highly recommend to anyone in the neighborhood. I just realized they have other locations throughout LA too which I'm sure are also good but this one did not disappoint at all.
