I have been going to this vet since 2015, though I switched for a few years due to the front end staff, I came back about 2 or 3 years ago. The same staff I struggled with was there but other's had joined which seemed to create accountability. I find the facilities clean and the staff generally polite, but the level of politeness definitely varies from one customer to the next. This is observable from the waiting room. The doctor's and assistants are professional and personable. I generally see Dr. Kraabel, but have see a different Dr. for the last two visits. I recently scheduled an appointment when my Sheba showed signs of an ear infection. He had also developed an occasional tearing from one eye which this doctor had observed in May. I suspected his eye may have been scratched from my other dog's tail. For cost reasons I had been applying a human prescription lubricant which I brought in to make sure it was safe; the Dr. made no recommendations. I asked her to take another look at this visit which she did. After a brief exam she suggested a glaucoma test, when I hesitated she told me the worst case scenario, losing an eye without warning and I quickly agreed. The assistant had taken an ear swab when we arrived and now the Dr. escorted my pup to the back. When she returned a few moments later she told me he didn't have an ear infection and showed me how to clean his ears by unrolling the cotton ball and inserting it in his ear. She then went over my entire bill; almost $400. I was aghast, this was more than when he gets the expensive ear treatment. I tried to back out of the $77.00 glaucoma test, but it was already done. It was then she told me that that test was negative as well and suggested a cheap bottle of eye drops. In the end I spent almost $250.00 (with flushes and drops to be filled elsewhere) to be told my dog doesn't have an ear infection and needed eye drops. The doctor later sent results in which the findings showed mild conjunctivitis, yet she withheld that information, choosing to use fear in order to motivate me into agreeing to an unnecessary test. This was a shameful exploitation of the pet connection (a trend among vets) as well as a betrayal of integral trust one must have with the medical profession. All of that, on top of ridiculously high charges for a simple office visit. I left feeling I had been played; swindled, legally, but robbed none-the-less. Needless to say, I will search high and low to find an alternative medical provider for my pets. read more

Veterinarians at this practice are top-notch. Our chihuahua was 16 and had a cough. The vet gave me different options for treatment and was very supportive. He improved and regained health with her recommendations. The front office and vets work well together so the whole experience was positive. read more

They help me book appointments around my schedule, and I have not had to wait longer than 10 minutes for each of my scheduled visits, which is extremely helpful if you have a tight schedule. Shyla helped us out with getting a last minute appointment for our dog who clearly has a gross ear infection. We put 85$ down which we were told would go towards the total. It was last minute and early in the morning. We got lost and parked in the lot behind the vet, which turns out is for employees NOT CUSTOMERS so we had to walk all the way around the block to get to the entrance where SANDY told us they would not take us anymore for being late. She said we can pay another $85 fee for an appointment in the future (separate from the $85 I know the treatment is going to cost). I feel pushed aside and like my dog doesn't matter. We were lost and late and punished for it. I also really do believe you can do an ear swab in 15 minutes. Sandy why would you say that your staff can't? I cannot recommend Cascade Heights​. read more

Full transparency: I didn't end up visiting Cascade Heights Veterinary Center. I called this morning with hopes that I could get my dog in urgently. I advised Sandy that my dog had blood in her urine and I was hoping there was a chance that we, new customers, could be seen today. Rather unempathically, she replied "We are taking new customers, but are booked out for two weeks." I asked if there were any options (again, blood in her urine), and received a solid no. I have been eyeing Cascade Heights Veterinary Center for a while, now, in hopes to move my dog's care closer to home, but that is off the table. I understand everyone is busy, but Sandy's rather uncompassionate, unyielding response confirms that we won't find what we need from there. I don't recall the details, but this is a second one of similar conversations (don't recall who I spoke with). I had attempted to get my dog in there previously and that attempt didn't pan out either, so not a one off incident. read more

Happy every time I visit. Most recent visit was this past Monday. Sunday my dog was obviously not feeling well. I left a VM Sunday night & received a callback before they even opened. The Vet Assistant was so friendly & kind & the Dr was just wonderful. My pets are always well cared for. read more

Avoid this vet. Sometimes the staff will straight up say "we can't do anything" and hang up on you. I started off giving this place 2 stars because sometimes some staff are actually nice, and the doctors sometimes do their job, but it's not worth it when your pets health is on the line. They will cancel your appointment that you have had booked months in advance without telling you until you get there, or like less than 24hrs in advance. They charge more than their estimate and will always push their gross food that has repeatedly made my pets sick. They also miss very obvious health issues that luckily another vet had caught. How do you miss a heart arrhythmia? I can tell just by putting my hand on their chest and even bringing it up they just ignore it. Because of this my dog went years without being treated. Maybe this place was better before but we've been going here for years snd honestly they've always been very shady. I do not recommend it one but. Please go to urban animal if you're looking for something in the area, or just anywhere else. I could not recommend this place less. read more

This is a welcoming, busy vet center that allows emergency walkins, so it is always a bit lively. I think most vets don't allow walkin's so they perform an invaluable service in the area, and provide really solid care and documentation. We have an anxious puppy who really does not like vet office/examination rooms, and they were very patient with her throughout her initial shots and spay surgery. The busy tech's really tried their best and I fear we left some messes behind for them to clean up :-0 We have shifted to a mobile vet which is better for all involved but really appreciated their collaboration with an anxious dog during COVID times. read more

I called this hospital needing veterinary care for my pet earlier this week because they had such rave reviews. Hard to believe they are real because this turned into a nightmare for both me and my pet as it delayed his treatment by at least 2 days! Here is what happened; I called the first time and they asked me to hold, I said sure and they put me on hold for almost an hour then disconnected me. So I called back, please hold "sure" I said. Again, the same thing. Ok, must be busy, so I took the voicemail option that promises a quick response in a day. 2 days go by, nothing. As I said, I really wanted to go here because of all the rave reviews they had. Big mistake! I called again after 2 days, got put on hold again 20 minutes go by and disconnect. I call back and told the lady answering she was hanging up on me every time I called. She put me on hold again, and promptly disconnected me. I said nothing bad. Was not angry, just wanted to let them know they had an issue going on with their phone. Now I knew, it was the grumpy old lady answering the phone who was hanging up on me. You can just hear the contempt in her voice. Now I know, according to the reply post on google reviews, she is over worked by poor management. Not that this should be my concern right? Well, according to their management, I, the new customer am the problem. And she lied saying I was "combative". I never talked to her longer than 2 seconds! How can I be combative in 2 seconds? SO I WROTE A REVIEW ON GOOGLE. HERE IS THAT REVIEW: --------------------------------------- I think this amount of positive reviews are bots and sock puppet accounts! They hang up on you while you wait on hold, don't return your calls and are generally rude. The grumpy old lady answering the phone is having a bad day everyday. I wouldn't take my pet to people who behave this way with their customers! ---------------------------------------- THEN I GOT THIS RESPONSE FROM CASCADE VET: --------------------------------------- I'd like to take a moment to present both sides of this situation. First, this person is not a client at our clinic. Second, our amazing staff was working double-time all week thanks to our phones and internet service going down multiple times. They put in long hours to get through the backlog of phone calls that managed to get through, voice messages from clients that couldn't get through, and the ever-steady stream of emails. The team did all of this while still ensuring our patients who came into the clinic were being thoroughly cared for with kindness and compassion. Finally, when one of the most loyal, caring and committed staff members I've had the honor to work with is brought to tears because you swore, were combative, and disrespectful, I cannot stand by without a response. Every one of our reviews are hard-earned. There is no review service, no bots...they are an honest reflection of how hard our staff works at giving our patients and their humans the best attention and care possible. --------------------------------------- Can you believe that response? Not a care in the world for the well being of my pet who was delayed medical appointments for 2 days. No remorse or empathy for the treatment I received from this mess of a veterinarian hospital. On top of that they lied and said I was "combative". I never spoke to anyone more than 2 seconds! As you can see by the response their excuse is their management is poor. Watch out for businesses that make you and their poor management the excuse to overwork their employees into poor performance issues and have no remorse. Especially in a business that deals with animal care! I'd stay clear of this one and move on to somewhere else! When my dog and I arrived, the front desk person said "Viktor!", as if he were her favorite dog on earth. The tech greeted him the same way. When she took him into the back for his treatment, I heard at least half a dozen people gleefully call out his name. My dog is a celebrity!!! I can't say enough about how grateful I am to have found Dr. Paulson and Cascade Heights. I have an almost nine year old Corgi who has had a couple issues over this past year. I initially brought her in at the recommendation of family; they take their two Bostons to Cascade Heights as well and spoke so highly of Dr. Paulson. Now I can't imagine bringing her anywhere else. They've been able to squeeze her in on very short notice when we've had a couple health scares, and even for regular appointments, I can usually get her in pretty quickly. Dr. Paulson goes above and beyond in educating you about what's going on with your pooch and the best course of action to treat the condition. She also has an amazing calming presence. After your visit, you are sent a report card summarizing the reason for the visit, and providing feedback on your pet's overall health. The facility itself is really nice and very clean. The staff are all friendly. The prices are reasonable. I highly, highly recommend Cascade Heights Vet. read more

I have never left a yelp review before but I have been so impressed by our vet that I felt the need to share. My dog is reactive to other dogs and they have always been so accommodating and non-judgmental of his needs. The veterinarians are extremely knowledgeable and up to date on best practices and everyone who works in the clinic is kind and easy to talk to. The prices are also very reasonable, we moved here from a lower cost of living area and I was pleasantly surprised to find such a great vet for such a good price in Seattle. So we've been here a handful of times now so I feel confident in leaving a review. We had previously went to a vet in Renton because it was recommended to us but we quickly realized that place was garbage. Anyway, I did some research and found Cascade Heights. We were able to get an appointment within the same week for our new pup who was experiencing diarrhea Dr. Tran was super thorough and listened to our concerns-- she wanted us to test for parvo because he was a new pup but I didn't feel like it was worth the $80+ since it was likely he just had worms. She agreed to test his poop for all the parasites before testing for parvo and luckily we found he had Giardia cysts. She didn't try to up sell us on anything we didn't absolutely need. Every time we've taken our pup in, the staff is super warm and friendly with us. I would 100% recommended Cascade Heights to anyone who lives on the west side! read more

I picked Cascade Heights Veterinary Center because of the great reviews that it had on yelp, and I am happy to say that it was the right choice! My dog is a rescue and can be very skittish in new surroundings with people that she doesn't know, especially in enclosed places like the doctor's office. I did a bit of research to try and find the right place that I thought would be the most convenient for her and affordable for myself! We headed in for an appointment as she needed to get a series of routine checkup shots and a parasite screening. Dr. Paulson was fantastic. I had recently relocated to the Seattle area and had a lot of questions about moving from the mountains to the city affecting my dog's exercise, my dog's diet and activity, and several other things regarding her general health. She took the time to explain everything and was much more thorough than any other doctor I have taken my dog to. All in all we were probably there for about 45 minutes, and my dog loved her! I also appreciated that they were able to contact our previous home veterinary center to obtain health records, as I couldn't seem to find them after the move. I would definitely recommend this vet clinic! They also mentioned that they are having wine and doggy events coming up this summer, so I can't wait to see what all that entails!! :) read more

I was thinking today when I got home from a visit to Cascade Heights that I had written a review for them, but I don't think I had, so here it is... When I moved to Seattle in 2017, it was what was left of my stuff and two dogs and me. I had no job, no permanent place to live, and no real friends, except my two boys, who are pretty much my world. It was looking like I probably would end up in West Seattle, so I decided to find a vet there, planning ahead. I ended up finding a place in the northern part of Ballard, which made them totally inconvenient, but they have known me and my boys by name since the first time I came in there. They laugh at my silly Sam and his crazy antics, and we all enjoy my sweet, old Winston, and they genuinely seem to care and to offer lower-cost options for something when that is possible. My tiny friends have some health issues, and I am stretched thin much of the time, so that means a lot. Almost two years later, we are still there every few weeks, and I haven't even tried to find a vet who is closer to our home. I feel like we are valued there and that the concern is sincere, for both the dogs and for me. That's worth the drive and earns my loyalty. And my boys actually pull on their leashes when we get out of the car, powering to the front door to get inside. I feel like I am doing the best I can do for my dogs by bringing them to Drs. I had a great experience at Cascade Heights today! I brought in my cat Rhaena for a check up and to establish care. Rhaena hates traveling and was trying to escape the whole appointment but they handled her beautifully! Dr. Timothy Kraabel examined her, and gave me some great tips on making her more comfortable for future appointments if needed. The front desk staff were also very pleasant and helpful, and called my pet insurance to figure out how the claim process works for me, then sent me the claims form themselves. I also received a very detailed "report card" via email with all the exam results and a treatment plan for her upcoming shots, etc. I highly recommend this Veterinary Center! read more

Bummed it didn't work out, although I did try. I can only comment on my attempts to make an appointment (unsuccessful). I cannot comment on their services or staff. I heard good things about the clinic. I called and spoke to a receptionist to make a hearing exam appointment for my elderly pup. A few days prior to our appointment, I texted (since I hadn't received a confirmation), and received a text back saying there was no appointment for us. So, I then called and the receptionist did find our appointment (apparently they had two separate records for us). She said they needed to fix their records. By the time we arrived the following day, our appointment no longer existed. And, I was told they do not perform hearing exams for dogs (?). I have to give them 1 star, wish it could have worked out differently. read more

I feel so reassured and comfortable when I take my two pups here. I was concerned I would not find another great veterinary clinic like the ones I have been to in Pullman, but fortunately I did! Cascade is so friendly and welcoming. The setting and environment of the clinic is very clean and modern. I honestly love how the staff would interact with my dogs during their appointments. I have an anxious pup who knows whenever she's at a veterinary clinic and tends to stay distant/not cooperate. I really love how Dr. Paulson sat on the floor to gain my small pups trust. I am extremely pleased with Cascade Heights Veterinary Center. We anxiously awaited our new companions arrival back in May, we have been looking for a good vet since before he arrived! Tough to find. Our criteria was bright, honest, strait forward, compassionate, and knowledgeable with a professional but caring staff. We looked and looked and we were definitely picky but no luck. Meanwhile we had been using the local places for vaccinations and exam but hadn't found the right vet. Unfortunately our little friend, 74lb. 7 month Rottweiler had some intestinal issues diarrhea etc. We went back to one of the local places and received care but not the level we were looking for or and they really didn't seem to care. Fortunately for us our neighbor recommended Dr. Paulson and Cascade Heights Veterinary Center. Wow! What a great find. This will be our permanent vet, attentive, compassionate, knowledgeable and relatable, and the staff was just as kind and caring. Thank You! read more

I was unhappy with my previous vet (lengthy wait, impersonal, pushy sales type diagnosis). I did extensive research and waited a few months to finally see Dr. Paulson. There were 5 star reviews so I went in expecting a good experience. On the day of the appointment, I showed up early but still had a wait. That was fine. What really irritated me was that after waiting over 15 minutes, I was ushered into a cat room. I'm not sure if it was for cats or just cat-themed but it had charts for cat medication, etc and I'm allergic. Another 15 minute wait and the doctor finally came in. She took my pet and put it on the examination table that had a cloth mat. Without sterilizing! I could literally see hairs on the mat. Maybe she assumed the receptionist who led me to the room had sterilized but this was not acceptable. I did the tests she said would provide some answers, but ended up having no conclusive solution or diagnosis for any of my concerns I had brought in. She suggested further testing which I declined. Overall this was a disappointing experience and a shame because I had wanted to do dental work as well. I got ZERO answers to my pet's problems. Essentially had the same issues like my previous vet except they actually sterilized their surfaces and were 24 hours. Pros - neat lobby, some tests are cheaper. Cons - seems sales oriented (they send ads every week), inconclusive results, unreliable cleanliness. read more

My dog is a rescue who is skitterish or at least she was- this vet rocks! They have pampered her and she will even let them walk her on a lead! They recommended that we just come in for friendly quick visits for treats so that Arlo would be come familiar with the staff. The staff is always friendly and concerned about my pet. They have been very forth coming about pricing and options.
