Mary had the Steak Dip; St Helen's Farm's sliced culotte steak, fontina, horseradish aioli, with au jus, served on an Alpine Bakery hoagie, along with fries tossed in rosemary and thyme, topped with parmesan; the sandwich and fries were both delicious. I had the West Coast Philly; St. Helens Farm's culotte steak, grilled onions and peppers, good ol' American cheese, and house chipotle aioli, served on an Alpine Bakery hoagie. This is not an East Coast Philly and is not trying to be, but it was delicious; the steak was thin sliced, tender and delicious, just the right amount of onions and peppers, the melted American cheese had a similar effect to East Coast Whiz, the aioli was not overpowering, just a hint of additional flavor. The Alpine Bakery hoagie for both sandwiches was crisp on the outside and soft and tender on the inside, and excellent sandwich bun. We came here for lunch on a recommendation from a friend, and his praise was spot on. The restaurant was very clean and smelled like good food when we arrived. We sat ourselves and were immediately greeted by our waiter, a friendly guy who took our drink orders right away. I used the restroom, and it was super clean (a good sign for a restaurant). My friend had the salmon sandwich and I had the steak sandwich. While nothing stood out as amazing, the food was really good. The fries and the fry sauce were delicious. Cascadia is one of our regular go to restaurants. The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. My husbands favorite meal is the steak dip, and i always get the blackened salmon Cesar salad or the steak salad. The one negative thing is, Depending on what bar tender is working, sometimes the martinis are Not made correctly. I order the cucumber martini every time and it always tastes different. Also, when they are busy, The service can be quite slow. Maybe understaffed? I don't know. For example yesterday when we went, the manager asked if we wanted fry sauce and then never brought it to us. He had a couple friends drinking at the bar so he was mostly chatting with them the whole time. Ok, this place is decent. I would like to give more than 3 stars but I just didn't love it and there were some flaws however, this place is brand new and it always takes a min to find the right groove so I would definitely try again. First off, it's Cinco de Mayo so they had $2.50 Coronas which was awesome and they were icy cold! We had the pretzels for an app and they were good, could have been cooked just a touch longer as they were a bit doughy but still tasty and the beer mustard cheese sauce was delicious. For dinner, I had the Oregonzola Steak Salad as a wrap with Parmesan herb fries. The Wrap really was tasty but a bit heavily dressed and unfortunately the fries were cold and just kind of lacking. My BF had the Salmon Caesar Salad as a Wrap with same fries and he loved it. There was a huge piece of salmon which was cooked well but again his fries were cold too. Service was great, especially considering it seemed like they were understaffed for how many people were in there. All in all we did like it and it was a cool joint but there was room for improvement on the food and it was extremely loud in there as there is no insulation to soak up the noise. read more
