    Broken break line

WORST SERVICE EVER! I took a 2021 C8 Corvette into Casey Chevrolet service center on Jefferson Ave Newport News 1 July 2024 for a state inspection, and requested to have the brake system flushed and new hydraulic fluid installed, because I had a break warning light showing on the dashboard. After waiting 5 hours I was told that the car had failed inpection because I needed and new mastercylinder which would be $2,300. I did not believe this was required so I told the service writer Dre Bell to put a rejection sticker on it and took it home. After inspecting it myself, I found that it had a broken right front hydraulic break hose. I was charged $324.34 for the state inspection and a break flush ( which they obviuosly did not perform, because it had a broken break hose.) I returned the car the next day and talked to the service manager, and asked him to order 2 new break hoses for the left and right front break calipers. The car was in Casey Chevrolet shop until 15 July when I returned and was told by the service writer Dre Bell that the total was $1600 to replace the 2 break lines because it took 8 hours, and they could not clear the warning light. I had previously supplied Dre with a written procedure to clear the warning light and asked him to try the procedure, which the service tech did successfully while I watched. The service manager previously apologized for the trouble, and said he would only charge me $120 an hour for labor to replace the 2 hoses ( maybe a 2 hour task) and said I would not have to pay for the 2nd break flush that would be required because I already paid $324. The parts department had quoted $88 each for the break hoses, yet Dre Bell said the parts were $302 and tried to charge me $1600 for parts and labor. I had to haggle with the service manager to come to a agreement to pay $445 for 2 hours labor and parts. After I got home I found a scratch on the right rear of the car that was not there when I took it in. There is a reason EVERYONE calls Casey Chevrolet a STEALERSHIP. THESE PEOPLE ARE THEIVES WHO CHEAT ANYONE THEY CAN. They told me I needed a $2300 mastercylinder that I didn't need, then tried to charge me $1600 for a $445 job.

My crooked steering wheel after their alignment
    Kris D.

I initially took my car (a corvette Z06) to Casey Chevrolet to get a routine alignment on 17 March. My car drove fine but I like to stay on top of it (performance tires are expensive). I was told it'd be quick if I made an appointment first thing in the morning, so I did and was assured it'd be "1 and a half hours tops" so I waited in the waiting room. 4 hours of waiting with no updates later, it was "done" however they couldn't provide any alignment specs due to "system issues". I was told "major adjustments were done to get it in spec" and was promised (by my rep, Jeff) that the alignment specs would be emailed to me later that day. I received nothing that day or the next. I called in and left messages and was blown off repeatedly. It took contacting the BBB to hear back from someone WEEKS later. They offered to redo the alignment free of charge since they couldn't provide info from the previous one (was it ever even done?). I accepted and made an appointment with the service manager for a 9am drop off on 8 April. I had the car there at 845am and was told that they'd be starting right away. I get a ride into work and continue my day. At 3:06pm I get a call saying my car was done. Over 6 hours later from when I dropped it off. When I get there, they say it was done "for awhile now. Hours ago". I'm annoyed, but they have my printout and said it's good so I leave. As soon as I turn on the main road I can see that my car is pulling to the right. You'd have to be vision impaired to not notice. The corvette logo on my steering wheel is clearly tilted when driving straight. I turn around and go straight back to talk to my rep (Jeff, who was the one who kept blowing me off after promising my specs last time) and get told that they can get me in the following Wednesday to do it again. It's currently Thursday. Ridiculous. I ask for the service manager (Walker Ellwanger). He listens and states "I don't know what to tell you but if you can bring it back in we can make a 'quick adjustment' and get it right". I asked if they took it on a test ride after, and he said the tech did but maybe missed it being off. HOW? It was the sole purpose of the test drive after the alignment. We're standing in the service desk area discussing a solution, and Walker asks what I want at that point. I ask to speak to the General Manager because there's clearly a disconnect and I just want the job I paid for to be done right. Mr Walker Ellwanger literally just points in a General direction and says "he should be over there" and stares at me. WOW. Top notch customer service. I ask if he can maybe bring me to him so I don't have to walk up to each staff member asking who/where the GM is, and he looks at me like I'm crazy and says "sure come on". The GM wasn't in of course, and I'm told to contact the main line tomorrow morning to get ahold of him if I insist on speaking to him. They wouldn't give his direct contact information. Back to back horrible experiences with this dealership.

The salesperson Esaa and the GM Ron Smith made this process much easier than I expected.

Finding a good and trustworthy auto shop is always tricky. After doing some research, I took my…read morecar here and was thankful for such a quick appointment. Making an appointment was fast and easy and customer service was great up to this point. So far so good. I made my appointment for 8am for a diagnostic and was told i could expect to hear something back around noon. After not hearing anything, I called close to 1pm and was told my car was next for service. When 4pm came around and I didn't hear anything I called again only to find out my car still wasn't looked at. At this point I was told to expect my car to be kept overnight but only because I asked about it. I was pretty frustrated considering I had an early appointment, all I needed was a diagnostic and for the simple fact I had to call for all updates not to mention having to now coordinate a ride home. I called again first thing in the morning and was then told I would have answers around 9. I was convinced then that my car wasn't looked at, at all the day prior. I did get a call shortly after 9 and I was apologized to and did get the answers I needed on my car. When I picked up my car, they were super apologetic and assured me this was not the normal way they conducted business. Because of the inconvenience, I was not charged for the diagnostic. While I was thankful, I was really disappointed with my whole experience. I understand things happen but good communication makes all the difference. Maybe my case was really just a one off, but this trip made me want to take my business elsewhere.
