ATTENTION! This moving company is DESIGNED to SCAM you! I'm pleading with you to NOT use their services at ANY COST! You are a number to them, not a customer. It is their hope that you will accept their scam tactics during your move and NOT complain about them. The Rolling Stones wrote a song suitable for this company called, "I Can't Get No Satisfaction." Where do I start.....? Moving a 4 Bedroom, 13 room home from MA to Maine. Was guaranteed 4 movers, the largest truck available, a piano dolly for Upright Piano and lastly the move would take from 8 am to 6pm. I My wife and I did ALL packing prior to move. Results: 3 Movers showed up sub-contracted by Casey, Rented Mid-size Truck used, no piano dolly, (Mover said, "You have a piano?") and move went from 9am to 8:30pm. Piano alone took 1 hour to move! Because of the Truck size, they were unable to complete my move. Office said they could return in 2 weeks for add'l $600.00!! At time of Sales Estimate, gentleman quoted price which I accepted. I asked him to buffer it up (increase) to account for any unexpected costs. He said he already added add'l $200 to estimate which I should probably get back as a credit! Little did we know that the SCAM was in play!! How the Scam works: Halfway thru the emptying of the truck, the Driver (Supervisor) asked us to settle up. He then calls the office (Danielle) and goes over the move up to that point. At conclusion of call, Danielle says we owe add'l $653!!! What?? Nothing has gone right with this move based on THEIR estimates BUT we owe them more money?? Here's the best part.....if we don't pay it, driver leaves premises with your personal property on truck. (Sound familiar? "60 Minutes" had an episode of this a few months ago.) Not only did we have to pay the add'l $$$, but remember, they couldn't fit everything in their truck so I rented a van for 3 days during the July 4th week to complete the move myself. I DO NOT recommend this company. Be warned: Casey Movers is completely unprofessional, with terrible customer service. The entire process of moving our friends (within 128 belt) was unbearable. We should have reacted to all of the red flags during the ordeal but did not until it was too late. The original quote was for a complete move and unpacking, and that was captured on paper. But, they did not unpack anything and just left the boxes in the middle of the living room and dropped the furniture. Communicating with customer service? I wish I hadn't hired this mover for my mother in law. They were supposed to show up between 8 and 9, and they showed up at 1015! After calling me multiple times because they got lost. Seriously, who can't find an address today! I had estimated the amount of stuff to be moved, and it was more than I expected. Basically more boxes, no heavy stuff. He gave me push back that it was more than the bill of lading. But they were booked for 5 hours, which was more than enough time for the job. They backed off, and did the additional work. Rating: 0 This was the worst move I have ever experienced (and I have moved a fair number of times in my life). Casey Movers cold-called me when the sale pending sign went up on my front lawn. They were friendly and and engaging and very solicitous of my business. They also offered 20 free boxes if I hired them to move me. They sent someone to my home several weeks before the move and he went through each room meticulously noting all of my possessions (including a piano) in order to give me as accurate an estimate as possible. They seemed very organized and came in with a good price, so I hired them. I had to call 3 times before they dropped off my 20 free boxes. They dropped them off Tuesday afternoon - two days before my move. The 3 men who showed up on moving day were timely and courteous. I Showed them around the house, pointed out where boxes were marked and they got started. Despite the fact that the man who gave me the estimate promised me that all of my furnishings and artwork would be wrapped well by Casey Movers, I did not see a single item wrapped. Which could account for the shattered glass from one piece of art before even making it to the truck. The movers moved my possessions in what felt to me a random order. When I noted that to one of them he said, "I'm awesome at Tetris." Apparently this was supposed to make me feel better about my belongings being stacked and shoved into a mound in the truck. After about 4 hours of grueling work (and it was extremely hot that day) one of the guys approached me to say the truck was full. There was plenty of my belongings still in the house. When I questioned this, I was told simply that the truck was full. When I suggested that was a problem I was told by another man that they would take care of it, even if it meant coming back the following morning. When I panicked (because the walk-through with the new owners was the next morning) he assured me that he and another guy would show up at 7:30 in the morning and take care of it. When I asked if this was company policy he told me that it was done quite frequently. When we arrived at my new house I wondered if they were going to take a lunch break. Not that it was my business necessarily, but it was 90 degrees out and they were doing demanding physical work. They told me they were fine and would just push through. They brought dolly after dolly loaded with boxes into the house and tilted them into random rooms - despite the large colorful letters naming where each box was to go. Boxes marked "THIRD FLOOR MASTER BEDROOM" were carelessly tossed in the basement. Then they brought in my piano. The company was well aware that I had a piano and it was going to the second floor. Unwrapped, the 3 men grunted and groaned and sweated, slamming the piano repeatedly into the wall all the way up the stairs. I was on the third floor horrified as I listened but too stunned to actually do anything other than pray. About halfway through unloading the truck we were approached by the lead man with the paperwork. When I questioned him wanting me to sign before the work was complete he said it was pretty standard procedure and that if I wanted I could look around and that there wasn't that much left on the truck. I chose to look around and found a number of boxes in wrong places, our chest freezer on its side in the middle of the basement floor (not plugged in), and a general lack of order (some boxes stacked, others on their sides, boxes on top of furniture, etc). I did ask them to rectify a few of the more egregious problems (like the freezer), but quite frankly, it was 8:30PM and I just wanted them out of my house. I gave them the bank check they required and the extra money they charged for additional time (the move went well beyond the estimated hours). It wasn't long after they left that we found the giant crack in the side of my wife's dresser or the fact that the sofa had no legs or the fact that the bed was not put together properly. As anyone might guess by this point, they never showed up the following day to finish the job. I had to borrow a minivan and have friends help move the remainder of our belongings. When I called Casey Movers to complain I was basically told that because I didn't call when the first picture shattered and because I signed the paperwork I had no recourse with them. I begged for some help. The new owners had shown up for their walk-through and were furious, threatening not to release the funds for purchase. Casey Movers said that wasn't their problem. I seriously would have settled for an apology from them, but instead I was berated for entering into an unlawful contract with one of their workers. Apparently having men show up the day after a move to complete it was not company policy. Not what they advertised. First, they don't bill you for actual moving time. They bill you for "port to port services," which means the drive time from Boston to wherever you live. "Hey, man there was a lot of traffic" was what we heard about their trip from Boston to our home. Second, they take pictures of their work on our time and stop for drinks on our time and use our bathrooms frequently. They are not careful with furniture and if you have something with drawers it baffles them. Half way through they mentioned that they accept gratuities, "you know, tips," and then told us they were going into over time with half our stuff still on their oversized truck. On July 21, 2017 I hired Casey Movers. I had called the day before to confirm and had asked to start at 7:30 am. Deirdra the manager said no problem. The driver showed up at 8:25 am. I had been calling the office since 7:50 am speaking to a sales person asking where driver was. He said he no idea, everyone was gone and assumed they were on there way. The company is maybe 5 miles from my house. I asked the driver what happened, when arrived, why was he late. His exact words " I know I am late, can we get passed this", I said excuse me? He said I know am late, lets just get passed this is move on. Shocked, I said ok but what time are you logging in your start time because I start paying you when you left your office and you left the office prior to 7:50 and did not reach my house until 8:25. He said we'll put down 10 minutes ago. I said 8:15, he said yes. We started going thru everything that needed to be moved. He says to me I'm going to move the truck into your driveway because it will be easier. I said really, the truck was parked in front of my front door, all by boxes were next to the front door, my stairway from the upstairs is a direct line out the front door to the truck. The driveway is on the other side of the house, it would have made it a much more difficult move to put the truck there. And I told him that. He says mam I am a professional mover and I know what I am doing. I said really because it doesn't seem like this is a good idea. He says mam are we going to get over this? And that's when I lost it and I said no, first you're almost an hour late with no apology and now you're telling me you want to move the truck to the other side of my house which makes no sense. That's when he accused me of cussing at him and said he was not going to move me and walked out the door. I was shocked. He just left me standing there. The company never called me. I called my sales person a couple of hours later and asked for my 250.00 deposit, asked if he heard what had happened and he told me that yes and there were two sided to every story, I said ok, can I speak to the owner, he told me that this was a cooperation and there was no owner, I said really, who's the owner. Again he said there is no owner, Deidra is the manager and will be at noon to call you and please do not call this office again. Of course, Deidra never called me. And I am still waiting for the 250.00 deposit. But what kind of company a treats a customer like that. DO NOT HIRE CASEY MOVERS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.....unless you have money to burn, and want to live with damaged furniture, smashed belongings, etc... Casey Movers are thieving, lying, deceitful robots (I use that term, as there is no way they are actually people, with hearts inside their bodies). Obviously, I had to give one star - as there are no negative stars. I hired them because I was in a hurry to find a mover, and they had sent me a postcard. They assured me on the phone they would take good care of me, as I had a similar, although as it turned out - not as bad experience with Father and Son's Movers (who I had to take to court, and won). When Casey Movers arrived, (late) they demand $500 for insurance. I had packed everything carefully and felt that was a lot of money for insurance. I had moved many times, and NEVER had a broken or damaged item. Before they got to my place, I saw their truck on the side of the road near a Dunkin' Donuts. I ended up waiting and waiting because they claimed they had the wrong address. Then they demanded another $1000. I just wanted my belongings, so I gave them the money. They started moving my belongings in. They were dropping items, and banging into doors, gouging my furniture. They told me they were tired. There were broken items, which looked as if they were purposefully smashed or broken, i.e. a heavy wooden piece which held a mirror - literally impossible to break unless it was done with intent. There were pictures which were wrapped with smash glass. These people are crazy! THEN, they told me it was too dark, and late and they would take my belongings to their storage place and unpack the next day. They assured me there was no charge. Stupid me, because when I called the next day, they said they couldn't deliver it until the following day, and wanted another $1400.00. Had salesman come over to the house, I told him what needed to be moved at one location and I had another location he should come to check out before giving me a quote. He stated that it would cost x amount that included the truck and 2 men!! I asked him why he did not have to go to the second location he said estimate would cover it!! I was told by the sales man the estimated a 10 hour day, He did not tell me that in the estimate was a 2 hour drive from Rockland and Back that was a 4 hour reduction I was not told about!! Moving day comes 3 guys show up not 2 like I was told small truck they could not go to the second location, and I owed them another $400 bucks!! They said that I would have to book them again to come back and get the rest of the items which would fill the truck for another $1200. I gave Casey Movers a chance for my second move within a year because they earnestly sought my business after coming in 2nd place the first time. The estimate was reasonable, based on their assurances that they could hoist items to the 3rd floor apartment rather than carrying them up winding stairways. When the crew arrived, the indicated they never hoist. The small job came in at 25% more than estimated as a result. But the real nightmare was trying to recover that overage over the next month, or, should I say, even to get them to respond to my calls or emails. They generally ignored me or sporadically answered, but they refused to refund the difference or any part of it. I am also missing one of the 4 matching dining room chairs I had but they never even responded to that or agreed to provide compensation for it. They also expressed surprise that the crew did not hoist, claiming "we do it all the time". I believe that unethical business practices and poor customer service are endemic to this organization and recommend you hire somebody else and spare yourself a lot of headaches. I will give this company a big fat 0 rating. Although their drivers were true gentlemen, their office staff is beyond unprofessional. They arrived over an hour late and came with a much smaller truck, hence making a 2 hour job into a 6 hour job. Movers still there while new buyers doing final walk through. Delivery 1 week later and a 1/4 of our stuff not on the truck. 3 different stories/reasons why. 1st was accidentally forgotten, 2nd didnt know whose stuff it was 3rd, most likely the truth, Not enough room for it. Couldnt deliver our belongings for a week which was today. Danielle, who is extremely rude and unprofessional tells me delivery between 3 and 4, even tho I was told delivery was going to be in morning. I explain its unacceptable, basically she tells me that's the time, not getting it until then. 5pm rolls around, no delivery, my husband calls and is told now 8pm or later, of course Danielle, Who claimed to be Mrs Casey, went home for the weekend without notifying us of time change. Finally gets delivered tonight, SURPRISE, stuff still missing. Highly disappointed with lack of professionalism or customer service. Would never recommend this company. Very dishonest people. Wish I had read reviews before hiring. Oh and by the way, I was asked, by Kayla, to write a review, so being a woman of my word, I was happy to oblige and fulfill my word and stick by what I said I would do. Our experience with Casey Movers was excellent from start to finish. When my wife called to inquire about having them move our belongings to our new house they were very friendly and accommodating, and the manager promptly came by to arrange the move and provide an estimate. On the day of the move the movers showed up very early in their scheduled window, finished the job within the time frame that we had discussed, and gave us a reasonable final payment figure that did not exceed our estimate. In addition, the movers were very friendly and efficient and worked hard to accommodate all of our requests. Before we gave our deposit,it was important to us to know that they could do the times/days we needed. Casey Movers is just out to steal your money. They send you a contract AFTER you give them your $100 deposit. They don't give you time to look the contract over and if you are not satisfied, they won't refund your money. I booked this mover (out of stupidity!), looked over the contract, was horrifed at the negative blogs, and did not want to get shafted, so I called to get a refund of my money, just 2 days after I booked the move, and they refused to give me my deposit back. I was guaranteed a price not to exceed $7500 and on moving day they charged us an additional $4000. they also were not suppose to deliver until 12:00 p.m. and we were told at 10:30 a.m. that we had to pay by 11:00 or else we would have to pay each man $50 per hour for 5 guys. I told them I was moving my mom into assisted living--something very difficult anyhow, and that it had to be the next day. They said they could do it. A few hours later, at the end of the business day, I got a call from them saying they couldn't do it. It was too late to call someone else. They refused, first stating that they would charge me $200 for every hour that they waited if they could not unload. Okay I said, there will not be a problem. Then,they wanted me to send an e-mail stating that I knew there would not be a problem at the senior living community. Finally, when I suggested they really didn't want to do the job, they agreed and that was that. They were afraid that we didn't have an unloading permit. I made it clear it clear mom was going to a facility that was on its own acreage, near Jamaica Pond, not in a neighborhood. They could have looked up this information too, but did not. They knew I lived in North Carolina, and had the gall to tell me that "this was Boston and so I didn't know"--well,I was born and bred here but never mind. The upshot was, they are terrible business people, unethical, and not knowledgable. In the end, we got a great mover (Baby Boomers movers) who was professional, efficient, and kept their word. I would recommend them to anyone and you will not be disappointed in their service. They disassemble and reassemble your furniture to its original form in a timely manner. I would give negative stars. This company moved my family from MA to TX. They were completely careless with all items. Boxes were not labeled (some that were had been marked with a yellow highlighter which was practically invisible at arrival to TX), my Waterford crystal was packed with tablecloths and placemats, pieces to my piano were left behind etc. They actually told me that they were "piano experts" then when the guys attempted to put it back together in my new house, they told me that they had never done it before. I have at least three phone calls and several emails in that have yet to be returned. It was the absolute WORST experience I have gone through. We used this company to move over six months ago, and it still stresses me out to think about them. They were unprofessional, rude, and had no sympathy. They arrived two hours late, caused a four-hour delay due to problems with their own truck, then charged us extra for the extra time spent. The men who actually loaded and unloaded the truck were great, except their stories about the delay did not match what the company told us. The worst moving experience I've ever had! Casey Movers estimated the move at $3000 and charged me $5000; they lost an antique jardinière and after a month returned a broken jardinière that wasn't mine. I had pictures of my matched pair of jardinieres so it was obvious they'd given me someone's else's property, but Casey had the audacity to claim I'd probably broken one before the move and substituted it with the one they gave me -- my motive being to extort money from them! Several pieces of my wood furniture had bad nicks and they didn't bother to wrap my white couches and chairs so they arrived with dirt marks. Casey Movers is not a member of the Better Business Bureau which should tell you something. As a final note, I moved within the town I live in -- so it was a matter of loading my property and driving it three miles down the road and unloading it. This was the worst moving experience we ever had. they do not deserve any stars. The main office is in Rockland but the truck left from Randolph, Ma.We had so much damage that the reimbursement they gave was absolutely absurd, covered very very little of our damages.Our hand paintedinning room chairs were banged and scraped, a living room cocktail table was gouged on all four sides, an antique piano lamp, dated was picked up by the neck and when I spoke to the mover he sourly said, :It is an old lamp!"This lamp has to go in for repair.A glass top table, gallery bought was scratched. A bedroom bureau, and desk were also deeply scratched. A silk lampshade was badly torn as they paced one on top of the other.I could go on and on We also caught them overcharging on the time. As the movers were very late my husband called the ofice and was told the time they left which did not coincide with the movers time. The owner we dealt with immediately agreed to repay us for that.He came to our home, saw all th damage, wrote it all down and promised to to get right back ti us which he did not. My husband called over and over and still no reply. He then remembered that he had the cell phone number of the owner,called it and got him! There were many excuses to try to worm out paying, but he knew he was completely in the wrong and we received our very inadequate sum of money. If we hadnt had the cell phone number we would not have been paid. I forgot to mention that a piece of the piano lamp was missing. The movers said they would go out to the truck and find it. They went to the truck but drove off. They had not put our bedframe togehter and my husband had to do this so we could get to bed, When the owner came he decided to try to amuse us with a story. It was far from amusing. He told us of an old lady they moved. He placed an antique bureau on the sidewalk while taking the mirror into the house.When he came out the bureau was gone. Then when I had run out to do an errand on the move day they harrassed my pregnant wife into paying an extra hour! I was so pissed off and mad that they had taken advantage of her! Worst Ever. The men who pack our house were great. Furniture arrived scratched broken, pieces missing and rodents had been in some of the boxes. Family pieces are ruined. As others have said, the movers were hard workers but broke several things, brought boxes in upside down and left things outside that belonged in the house. They held my belongings hostage until I went to the bank to get another check that doubled the price quoted for the move. They will be the last company I would call in the future. Terrible. I will never use this company again. I was quoted one price with two movers. Three movers show up saying they will get the job done faster. It took 9 hours to move my one bedroom apartment which included a 40 minute travel time. They charged me over double what was quoted. Every item that I labeled fragile was upside down upon arrival. They left my bed blanket in the elevator, it just was happen chance I found it. Then the three movers coerced me into giving them tips, saying if I give them tips, they won't charge me for the last hour. ( they did anyways). I asked for a receipt, never got one. Calling the manager was useless. She said she would email me the receipt (took 3 phone calls). I wanted to discuss the fee and mud quoted estimate but she had her lackies intercept the phone calls. I wish I had seen the Yelp reviews before hiring this company. I wish there were minus stars, they don't even rate one. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a service provider. I used Casey's for a move out of my house to a large storage unit that they also owned. The original quote was reasonable and the sales man was nice. During the move, the man in charge was very rude and demanded payment half way through the truck being filled. I thought this was unfair as the move wasn't finished and there was no way to know what the final hours worked would be, but had no choice but to pay him. The movers were also careless with things and I was worried about the outcome. My things were in storage with them for a very long time while I was working out of state. Billing was random, sometimes I wasn't charged for months, and sometimes I was overcharged for future months to come. When it came time to get my things out of storage and in to my new house, I called several moving companies for quotes. I did not want to use Casey again because of the unprofessionalism they displayed during the first move. When I called Casey's to let them know I would be hiring someone to take my things out of storage for my move, they informed me that they would not allow another moving company to remove my things and they would charge me a minimum of $300 to load someone's truck. None of the other moving companies I spoke with had ever heard of such a practice and they all refused to work with Casey's on this as it was a potential liability on their end. This left me with no choice but to use Casey's again. I remembered that during the original move, they told me that if I used them again to move my things out of storage, I would get a significant discount, so I thought that at least this was a benefit despite my being terrified to use them again, much less to see the condition of my things after witnessing how reckless the movers had been during my first move. When I asked Casey's for a quote, they gave me a reasonable price, but then the manager, Matt, wrote me to say that they would actually be charging me the same thing that I paid the first time. When I asked about the discount I was promised, he said that I was already getting a discount and that I hadn't paid much for storage. Despicable. He did make it sound like it may not be as much depending on how fast the movers could get my things in to my new house. He would not tell me what time they would be starting, however. I had a very bad feeling about this. Well, moving day came and when the movers introduced themselves to me, one of them seemed half drunk. As I watched my things being removed from the truck, I did notice a few damaged items, which the mover's responded to by saying that the things were probable already like that. Once again, about half-way through the truck being emptied, the man in charge demanded payment. I told him that I would pay when the truck was empty and I knew the final tally of hours worked. He then called his boss, the same rude manager, Matt, that I had dealt with to date, and he put me on the phone. Matt informed me that they would not finish unloading the truck until I gave them the full payment of what he quoted from the first move, and that they wanted a certified check. It was never mentioned to me that I needed a certified check and I didn't pay with one the first time which I mentioned to him, and he told me to read the fine print of the "contract," by which he meant the quote he had e-mailed me. Matt was very rude and angry. When I reiterated that I would not pay until the truck was empty, he called the guys moving my things and told them to pack up and leave. I called Matt back and told him that I would call the police if they left with my things, he told me that he would call them first. The guys moving me then said they weren't leaving, but got in the truck and peeled out of my driveway, speeding down the street with my things. I couldn't believe what was happening. I was backed in to a corner and there was nothing I could do. I called Matt back and told him that I would go to the bank and get a certified check, which I did, and to tell the movers to come back and he agreed. Shortly after this conversation, the police arrived at my door and asked what was going on. When I told them what happened, they were shocked that this company had actually called them instead of the other way around and went out to look for the truck. After this, it was more than 2 hours later that the moving van returned and the guys were extremely irritated and angry. Instead of looking to me to direct them where in the house to put my things, they just started throwing things in to the nearest room. A woman from the company pulled up and said she was there to collect payment. I gave her the check and asked for a receipt which she said she didn't have. She told me to e-mail the manager for one. At this point, the only thing I could keep reminding myself of was that this was the last time I would ever have to deal with these people. read more

We had one of the worst experiences of our lives with this company when we moved in August. While we could go on for pages about our problems, here are just a few lowlights. After visiting our home to provide an estimate we were given a number that was more or less in line with a couple of other quotes. After choosing Casey we were shocked when moving day arrived and we were told by the moving crew that the quote we were given was not even close to being accurate and that the true cost was going to considerably higher. We had no choice but to proceed. At the end of the day, the cost was 65% higher than the quote. The moving crew was unprofessional and among other things we spent the day listening to grunting and vulgarity. Exercise equipment that was supposed to be reassembled at the destination was left in pieces on our basement floor. Repeated attempts to contact the owner were ignored. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. read more
