a long table with a variety of candys

This is known as the most socially prestigious club in Chicago and occupies a dark and somewhat peculiar-looking one-story, green-and-black Art Deco building tucked in behind the Hancock Center. It has no sign and, at first glance, appears to be a drab, diminutive structure of no special value. Not so. The people who run the machinery and institutions of Chicago tend to be club members. They like to eat lunch at their club, or read the paper at their club or just go to see who's there. This is a private club that is truly a part of its member's lives. The food is excellent and, despite one Yelper's experience, the service is beyond impeccable . . . it is always perfect in every way. Though called "Casino," the club is not a gambling den. It derives its name from the more apt definition: "a building or room used for social amusements." It was founded in 1914 down the street from its present site, to which it moved in 1928, and its raison d'tre was to provide a place for both city and suburban elite to refresh themselves after or before some downtown social or cultural occasion. The little club rulebook notes that "Dressing and bathing facilities are available for both men and women members upon reasonable notice." Ranking the clubs that come after the Casino (there are many clubs in Chicago) would be tough considering the nosebleed prestige it occupies, but all sharing roughly the same next-level-down would be the Union League, the Chicago, the Tavern and the University. I love this place. I am newly impressed every time because it is so beyond anything else I have the privilege to experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough and encourage anyone who has the opportunity to attend an event here, to do so without hesitation.

No notes. The sandwich had candied bacon on it with this perfect sweet flavor, and it normally comes with honey Dijon--but I don't do Dijon, so I swapped it for this garlic sauce ‍ And when I say that garlic tanginess mixed with the sweet candied bacon... whew. Chef's kiss. Absolute perfection. My boyfriend got the steak wok bowl with corn, broccoli, brown rice, and some other veggies--and I definitely stole a few bites It was SO good. Like... flavorful, fresh, just everything. The whole vibe? Perfect for a lunch date. The ambiance was cute, relaxed, and just right And I loved that they serve room temperature water (because ice? not my thing ‍) But let's talk about the real star--our waiter Eli He was AMAZING. Super personable, funny, and just a whole vibe. He had the cutest red cat-eye nails and burgundy hair accents--like, style on point He told us he manages both the Gold Coast and River North locations, so I'm definitely hoping we run into him again. And when me and my boyfriend were holding hands at the end, he goes, "Aww this is so cute. I'm not jealous though" we all cracked up. Just made the experience even better. Listen... 5 stars is not enough. It's just not. If you've been thinking about going--THIS IS YOUR SIGN. Go. I promise you won't regret it

Our friend said one of her favorite places to suggest to visitors was Doc B's Restaurant. So, we gave it a try. The menu includes a wide variety of salads, wings, wraps, sandwiches and, my favorite, burgers. I was with a group of 4 and we all ordered burgers - and none of us opted for the same burger. So, our little group got to try 4 different burgers. And all four were delicious. Three of us ordered with a side of fries - also delicious. Great place for dinner in the Windy City.

Being the planners we are, we…read moreendlessly scrolled through Yelp looking for the perfect post-Christmas shopping meal for our group of five adults. We are starving, hangry actually. We saunter up to our chosen restaurant only to find a sign on the door that says, "closed for private event." Did I mention I was hangry? My husband suggests Jake Melnick's. It was within walking distance ... did I mention it was raining that night? And I was hangry? I was game for anything at that point. We arrived and waited probably four minutes for a table. A couple of the adults ordered a beer, the others ordered a Coke. We ordered a large pretzel and our mains. The pretzel was so good. All the meals were outstanding (a sliced brisket sandwich, some wings, chicken tenders, onion rings and a burger). Service was great. It was a little loud when we first arrived as there was an intense Illinois State basketball game on but as soon as the game ended, it was much quieter. We really enjoyed our meal at Jake's!

Our dinner guide, Nicholas, was superb. Very knowledgeable about the menu and suggested two perfect spirits from the bar. My wife had the Irish old fashion which was excellent. I had a vodka Gimlet, which also was superb. Palate pleasing! The meal was absolutely enjoyable. I enjoyed the Curry Chicken. The thigh meat was tender and succulent. The curry was sweet and creamy. It came with pita bread which added to the dinning experience. Just wonderfully enjoyable. My wife enjoyed the Fish and Chips which beat Bobby Flay. True words from the menu. Wife said if was the best fish and chips she has ever had. Then came the dessert. Now I asked Nicolas and he suggested Pavlova and Blood Orange. Which lead me to survey Margaret and she suggested Sticky toffee date cake. After a friendly jostling back and forth of desert knowledge Greg the Maitre-d made also suggested the Sticky toffee. Both came and to be honest both were outstanding. Excellent choices. All and all this was a great dinning experience from beginning to end. We will return next time we are in Chicago.

They have a huge selection of things to choose from which made it hard to decide on what to order. This Cheesecake Factory is located off the magnificent mile which makes it super convenient to get to. The interior design of this Cheesecake Factory kind of reminded me of Willy Wonka. They brought us a brown bread roll and a white sourdough-style baguette with butter on the side as we were deciding on what to order. I ended up ordering the pickle fries which came with a spicy ranch. The ranch was so good but the pickle fries were just ok. They were mini pickle spears with a breaded coating. For my entree I ordered the egg roll sampler which included Avocado Eggrolls, Tex-Mex Eggrolls, Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, and Chicken Taquitos. That was super tasty! I'm glad I ordered that as I was indecisive as to what egg roll to order. They were all so tasty in their own way so it was hard to decide on my favorite but I liked the chicken taquitos the best. My friend ordered a skinnylicious beet salad that she said was good and the avocado egg rolls. That was a big portion so she was able to take some leftovers home. The service was attentive and the food came out quick. For dessert I ordered the Oreo dream extreme cheesecake and my friend ordered the dulce de leche caramel cheesecake. The Oreo cheesecake was the best cheesecake I ever had! I would go back just for that cheesecake.
