This was my first visit and it was delicious! I ordered the chicken kabob with saffron rice. It came with a cucumber salad and tziki (sp?). The saffron rice needed a slight umph to it so I added the yogurt sauce and hot sauce to it. I'll definitely be back! read more

I had the Caspian Kabob, which is a chicken kabob and a veggie kabob. It was super tasty. It comes with a choice of rice, salad, or pita, and a cucumber and tomato salad. Wow! The reviews here are true. This place is truly a hidden gem in Portland. Came here around 3 pm. Had the chicken kebab. The owner is very pleasant and fast. I asked him why the short hours, he explained that he starts at around 7 am, shops for fresh ingredients every day, cooks everything by himself, cleans up and between having a family and trying to build his dream, he gets everything done by 7 pm, and does it all over again the next day. What a guy! I really hope he flourishes and he finds a brick and mortar place where he could have his own restaurant. This guys food is way better than any other Persian places in town, including Nicholas. Much better prices too. Highly recommend and will come back again. read more

I LOVE the food here! I don't usually eat middle eastern food because most of the time it's spongey crappy meat slathered with high sodium sauce to cover up. But the food here is AMAZING! The meat is all handmade and perfectly balanced it doesn't need any sauce. The vegatables are always fresh and crisp. Even the sauces are good. They should really bottle that hot sauce and sell it. The Kubideh over salad is my go to. Never disappoints. I eat here at least once a week. They know what they are doing. This is one of the best spots in Portland. Seeing many 5 star reviews for this place was tempted to try this but was disappointed with what we had. We got the Veggie kabobs with rice and a skewer of the Chicken Kebab. The veggie kebabs were nothing special and the rice that came with it definitely needed salt and was too bland and lacked flavor. The chicken kebab skewer was just so so and also was less on salt. I am always up for trying out a new place. My colleague shared with me the amazing reviews this place had and after looking at the menu and even some photos posted by customers I was on board! I went for the Caspian Kabob. My mouth was watering as I ordered and waited with the anticipation of a one of a kind experience. However after I had the first bite I have one word to describe the experience: DISAPPOINTING. The meat was rubbery and it lacked flavor and texture. The rice felt like dry cardboard and the vegetables were dusted with something I wish had added some flavor. Whatever it was it wasn't good! Such a sad experience considering Persian Food is known for it's amazing texture and flavors. All of which my Caspian Kabob experience lacked! Unless the owner can tell me this was one of their "off" days. I am going to go with "Is not the kind of food I would recommend to my out of town relatives when they come to town". read more

We were visiting Portland from Los Angeles and stopped at this little gem on a rainy day for lunch. I am so glad we did. The food was amazing! My husband had the koobideh, one my daughters had the chicken kabob, and my other daughter had the vegetarian Kabob. I had a little bit of all three! All dishes come with a large portion of basmati rice, grilled tomatoes, side salad, and yoghurt and cucumber dip. The Kabobs were very juicy and flavorful, the portions were generous, and the price was very reasonable. To top it all off, service was excellent. Victor, the chef owner, is such a nice and humble gentleman. My husband had a wonderful conversation with him while we were waiting for our food. We both felt his warmth and genuineness.
