It was a Thursday evening. Live music was music-ing; easy on the ears! Dinner for 10, celebrating "CousinTines"; like Galentine's but more special! Some confusion with order the 5 course special for 2 (x3), ask about the "special". I think everyone agreed the food was delicious. Portions are definitely shareable. Staff attentive though felt a lil rushed at times. Overall good experience! Good 1/2 way point for us from Torrance - Murrieta. Will go again if in the area...

I love Persian food and was excited to discover that this building that had housed so many failed restaurants was Persian. And, I was blown away at what a beautiful job they did in converting it from the last concept. It is really attractive. But, restaurants are about the food, so the jury was still out. The minute I was handed my menu I searched for my favorite flavor - Fesenjoon. The walnuts and pomegranate and molasses are the ugliest, yet tastiest combination ever. Sure enough, it was there on the menu. So, we ordered the Fesenjoon and Qabuli Pulao, which is basmati rice with raisins and carrots and almonds. We chose lamb as our protein. The Fesenjoon was amazing. It was paired with crispy rice, which was so crispy and delicious. I am salivating as I am writing this. The Qabuli was excellent also. The service was fine...efficient, but nothing special. But, we were treated to live music. The whole experience was much better than we expected and we can't wait to return.

It was our first time at Caspian restaurant and Dory was very nice and accommodating. It was Valentine's Day & we didn't have a reservation. We got there at 5:00 and special event was at 7:00. She said I could give you a table if you could be done by 7:00. It worked out great we were done by 6:30. Our server was very nice and efficient unfortunately I didn't get his name but the receipt says team 19. We had a feast an everything was delicious and excellent service. Shout out to Server 19! Sorry, didn't get your name. He was extremely accommodating, and made us feel welcome. Inside is very nice. Most people dress nice, but some were very casual, too. We made reservations for 6:30pm and got pretty good seats. Singing started at 7pm, belly dancer came on a little after 8:30pm. All the food tasted really good, but neither of us liked the tahini sauce.

I tried the lunch buffet today and was very impressed. The restaurant is beautiful inside, with a large dining room and outdoor seating. There is even a stage for live entertainment. The buffet had great variety, beef, chicken,fish and plenty of fresh veggies. The chicken kabobs were my favorite, juice, tender and full of flavor. I also loved the the warm pita bread, the hummus and yogurt dip. The only downside was the fish, which had a noticeable smell and did not taste fresh. Its a solid buffet with lots of options, especially the kabobs and sides. I would come back for sure.

Stopped in for lunch on a weekend, very excited after seeing high reviews on Yelp. We arrived at opening, the restaurant was pretty empty. We were seated outside on the patio. The entire restaurant is very well decorated and well kept, very cute for a girls lunch, date or special event. The food was okay, we tried the red lentil soup which had good flavor, the fattoush salad and split peas with eggplant. Glad we stopped in, I would consider returning for the buffet option during the week.

Our party of 6 and 2 babies came here for an early dinner and first off, it is very spacious, easy/plenty parking, and people here were very kind and welcoming. I ordered the lambsicles and they were cooked and tasted perfect! I also tried others - salmon, koobideh (beef and chicken), and chicken kabob. We ordered the samosas, which was amazing, and a side of raw onions and tzatziki! Everything was really really delicious with all fresh and good ingredients. Too bad there was no live music/dancing. Make sure to come on a Wednesday, when they do have music/dancing.

We came on a Saturday and were treated to more than just dinner - Caspian is a good time w/ live music, a wandering belly dancer, and an active dance floor! Beautiful indoor & outdoor seating. Hookah available, along with a roaming inhouse photographer (pics available for a fee). All the food was great, especially the beef koohbideh, even earning my Persian sister in-law's full seal of approval. Everything was first class, minus the unattentive service.

My friend and I tried this restaurant for the first time as it is conveniently located near the fitness center we exercise at. We were going for a healthy meal that was packed with protein and flavorful seasoning. The service is quick and friendly. We chose to sit outside and there were outdoor patio heaters available. We were very satisfied with the entrees and also tried the desserts. A live singer with accompanying musicians was also performing inside the restaurant that evening.

my family and I celebrated Mother's Day at Caspian Mediterranean restaurant in foothill Ranch my mother's favorite restaurant they had live entertainment, including an amazing singer and belly dancers and endless buffet style meal. Food, service, decor and ambience were overall AMAZING! Loved everything about it. The live music really set a mood and the servers could not have been any better. My family and I will surely be coming back. Tonight Valentino and Moses were stupendous; they were attentive, respectful, and took great care of us. It was our first time here. The decor is very sterile, it looks like it's still not complete! Food was mediocre, way overpriced and service not good at all. Restaurant was very understaffed. Even though they were not busy at all, our server was no where to be found! We had to keep waiting a long time to get sumac or bread or water,even for our bill at the end! If they want to survive and keep charging these expensive prices they really need to work on their level of service! read more

My partner & I had the pleasure of visiting Caspian this past Saturday. I had the pleasure of being at the old location in Irvine--however, the transformation of it genuinely was uplifting. From the first minute we were greeted, we were treated to a fabulous level of service that words cannot simply justify. The Chef has also done justice to the cuisine as the food, and its' presentation has been utterly transformed. I look forward to many visits as I congratulate Caspian Management and wish them continued success. As I conclude these brief thoughts, I also have to make sure the live entertainment was also noted. What an amazing experience!! I'm glad we waited for the new location to open because it was definitely worth the wait. Zero is very high score for this restaurant. This incident happened twice in raw . We made a reservation and then we showed up they didn't have a table for us . Tonight is my boyfriend birthday and we invited people I called day before and booked for 8 pepole and specifically asked to be near to stage . We showed up after waiting 10 minutes finally they said we are busy tonight and not having available table for us . Ridiculous and very disappointed. No one take a blame even though my name was on the list . We never going back to this place . I hope this review help them to manage more organized. read more

Been coming to this place for years at their Irvine location so it was a bummer to hear them temporarily closing. Now that they're open again I can't wait to stop by for some delicious Mediterranean food. The entire staff provide exceptional service with top tier hospitality. If you ever find yourself visiting, ask for Aldahir he will take care of you 110% and make you feel like family. The kitchen always satisfied my taste bud needs. My favorites were definitely the beef satay which was cool to perfection and the pad Thai - very well done - and I've been eating at different Thai places since I was a teenager! The noodles were on point with the texture, the flavor was saturated throughout every bite, so yummy! I did not try the pad see ew but it looked really good. Love the quantity given and the high quality of the food. Our meals fed three very hungry JV soccer players and four famished parents. Our waitress/server was very attentive, friendly, and smiling with a welcoming air that made us feel like we were eating at her home. Loved it and we are definitely returning! Thanks Thai Garden!

I stumbled onto the Caspian Mediterranean Kitchen by accident. We were nearby to watch our grandson's performance in his first play at the Civic Center and had 2.5hrs between shows to kill. We drove around looking for a comfortable place with crystal & linen so we could feel catered to...but the surrounding eateries were just sad. Lotsa fast food and 3 star hole-in-the-walls. As we were preparing to leave Foothill Ranch we saw Caspian. It stood out...boldly. Indoor/outdoor seating, firelight accents, nice cars in the parking lot...we had to try it. Upon entry it was clear a large private event was taking place, and we fully expected to be turned away. The interior was beautiful, spacious, and appeared to have just been built. Everything looked brand-spanking new. Staff was scurrying amongst the very large party of guests, and it was clear they had recently arrived too. We were greeted with smiles and our request for seating in a quiet, out-of-the-way table was instantly granted. The 4-minute rule was honored despite the busyness of the engagement party going on in the next room and our server was warm and welcoming. We had time to kill and enjoyed some wine and appetizers, stalling placement of the food order for quite a while. Now understand, I can be a challenging customer because I have been the food service profession for decades. I can look at an item and tell you if it came from SYSCO, US Foods, Restaurant Depot, or some other popular source...and my familiarity can adversely impact my dining experiences. I tend to be critical of both the front & back of a restaurant (kitchen staff & servers) and this skepticism is magnified when I feel the need to be catered to. Yes...I'm that guy. Well during the hours we spent at Caspian, we were greeted by the owner Esie as well a manager, both who engaged us in brief conversation that was enjoyable and appreciated. Not so much that it became intrusive (like some places I've visited...once) and it was clear they were going above and beyond to make a meaningful first impression. Our server recommended a red wine that was perfect, all the appetizers and entrees were cooked properly, delicious and served like artwork. The eyes dine first so the hard look I give food when it's brought to the table, comes with expectation. Caspian did not disappoint. Something else I found exceptional about this place was the coffee. My wife and I are addicted to the stuff; both the coffee and cappuccino was so much better than the coffee we make at home we were stunned. We buy premium whole beans that we carefully mix, our Jura Capresso makes every kind of coffee drink and yet...the java served at Caspian head & shoulders above my best efforts. I am hopeful they will share the brand and source with me...I want that coffee every day!!! As you can surmise...with three people looking after us, we felt fully catered too. If you are a tough customer...if you scrutinize things like the crystal stemware, steak knife and water carried, if you know when your server is providing the ideal level of service (not stopping to check on you too often or disappearing for too long) and seek a dining experience in very elegant and comfortable surroundings, then do yourself a favor and go visit Caspian Mediterranean Kitchen on a day when you need to be treated right...very spoiled. This place has a certificate of excellence...not a commonality in the restaurant business and something the most discerning customer appreciates. You need to take an OCD approach to cleanliness and food handling to earn one of these certificates and it is clear the management and staff at Caspian treat every diner like a published food critic. That is rare. Go ahead...treat yourself...you'll return, even if it's a bit of a drive. I visited Caspian on Saturday, April 26, with my family, hoping for a meaningful and uplifting evening. The restaurant itself is stunning, clean, beautifully decorated, with warm lighting, great music, and an ambiance that immediately transports you. The belly dancer was incredibly talented and truly the highlight of the evening. Her performance was elegant, joyful, and added such a special energy to the night. This visit was deeply personal for me. I was feeling a little down and missing my late mother, who had a deep love for Middle Eastern culture. Although we are from South America, we grew up in Glendale surrounded by that influence, and I've carried it with me ever since. I wanted to share a piece of that with my family (specially my 9 year old son)here in South Orange County, where Middle Eastern restaurants are few and far between. At first, everything went well,our server was friendly, and we enjoyed delicious drinks and appetizers. The lentil soup and cucumber Greek yogurt dip were especially fresh and flavorful. But when it came time to order entrées, things took a disappointing turn. My son and husband were ready to order, but due to medical reasons, I follow a restricted diet and couldn't have a full entrée. The waiter insisted that all guests must order an entrée, and when I explained my situation, he simply suggested I order a salad. I asked to speak with the manager, who reiterated the policy that everyone must order an entrée because they offer live entertainment. I understand if that is their policy, but it would have made a world of difference to be informed of it when we arrived, not after we had already ordered drinks and appetizers. It left me feeling uncomfortable and saddened, especially because I had come with sincere intentions to celebrate a culture that means so much to me and my family. I still tipped the dancer generously because she was truly exceptional, but sadly, the overall experience left me with a heavy heart. I admit I've been hesitant to embrace this new Caspian. The reason? A price tag on their entrees that dances a jig $10 higher than its Persian counterparts in the vicinity. But oh, the lunch buffet, a symphony of delectable offerings for a mere $20! Imagine a verdant tableau of mixed greens, Persian yogurt and cucumber raita, hummus as smooth as whispered secrets, and pita bread, the perfect vessel for scooping. Rice, fluffy and fragrant, sits beside an orchestra of grilled delights: chicken tenders, ground beef kabobs, their juicy cousins the chicken kabobs, and even shrimp, each a chorus of flavor. And the quality? A resounding operatic crescendo! Every morsel, a testament to the freshest ingredients, lovingly prepared. Caspian Mediterranean Kitchen (Jan 13, 2024) I don't enjoy writing negative reviews, but after reaching out to the business and receiving no response, I felt it necessary to share our disappointing experience. We've visited Caspian a few times for lunch and found it to be ordinary, but our Saturday night dinner was far from acceptable. The issues began with our drinks. My husband and I ordered simple martinis with olives, but what we received had an odd froth and a strange taste. When I questioned the waiter, he repeatedly insisted that "nothing was wrong," despite the drinks being off. It seemed like the bartender hadn't cleaned the shaker properly, as the drinks tasted like remnants of a piña colada. The food didn't fare much better. The Baba Ganoush tasted off, the Hummus was dry and overly spicy, and the Tahdig with Gheymeh stew was disappointing. The Tahdig was soft and lacked the usual crispiness, and the Gheymeh was watery and flavorless. The Filet Mignon Barg was okay but bland, and the presentation--with a lone cherry tomato and a large jalapeño--felt out of place. When we asked the waiter about the jalapeño, his response was, "Persian food is bland, so we wanted to add a kick to it", which felt like an odd justification. The owner, who was making rounds, mentioned they had changed their approach to attract different crowds, which seems to have worked since most of the patrons were Hispanic. However, I couldn't help but feel like they've sacrificed the authenticity of Persian cuisine in the process. Although the food is still good, I must express my disappointment with Caspian's recent changes compared to its previous location. Upon being seated, we noticed that the customary bread, onion, butter, and sumac were no longer served as complimentary starters; instead, they are now offered at an additional cost. Furthermore, it's quite perplexing that they no longer accommodate requests for half koobideh and lamb, which used to be a staple. Additionally, the portion ratio of rice to meat was inadequate, and the rice itself was not served hot. I do understand that Caspian is trying to embrace a new direction with this location by modernizing its atmosphere and introducing a broader range of dishes, including pasta. The waiter even mentioned plans for incorporating Mexican or Spanish cuisine. However, regrettably, these changes have resulted in the loss of everything that made Caspian truly exceptional at its core. It saddens me to say that this will be my final dining experience there, but I sincerely wish them the best moving forward. read more

One of the standout dishes I had at Caspian Mediterranean Kitchen was the eggplant dip appetizer (can't remember the name, but they'll know what you mean!). The creamy, smoky flavor of the eggplant was perfectly balanced by the tangy, fresh flavors of the accompanying vegetables. The dip was served with warm, soft pita bread, which made for the perfect vehicle to scoop up all that deliciousness. But the real MVPs of the show were the bartenders, Brandon and Soleil. These two were absolute pros at their craft, expertly mixing up all kinds of cocktails and always with a smile on their faces. They were also great at recommending drinks and food items based on our preferences, and their recommendations never disappoint. Overall, the eggplant dip and the top-notch service from the staff, and especially Brandon and Soleil made for a truly memorable dining experience. The food was good, the ambiance enjoyable, and we were happy with the experience until we got the check. 20% MANDATORY TIP? When did tip get mandatory? Automatically added to your bill. How is this even legal? Not only they didn't say anything about this, there was actually another print for tip, in addition to what they already decided to tip themselves. Not only infuriating, but insulting. If you cannot pay your own employees and need to charge your customers to cover your staff's salaries, on top of the cost of the food, you are anything but a good business. This place is expensive, but the problem is that the prices do not reflect a class experience. It felt like scamming and a rip off. Forcing customers to tip is so embarrassing and low class, never going back for sure. read more

Caspen Caspian Persian Restaurant has relocated from Irvine to South OC, and the new location is a really nice upgrade. The original spot had a much darker, more traditional atmosphere, but this one is bright, stylish, and definitely on the bougier side. The menu has evolved into more of a Persian fusion style, though they still offer the classic Persian dishes. It is a bit more expensive than it used to be, but the food still tastes great and is well prepared. They also continue to have live entertainment on specific days, which adds to the experience. Service is alright. If you're looking for Persian food with a fancy, modern atmosphere -- whether you want a fusion twist or just traditional dishes in a more upscale setting -- this is a great place to check out. read more

We had an amazing experience at this Mediterranean restaurant! The chicken kabob was incredibly juicy and full of flavor, perfectly grilled and seasoned. The filet mignon was tender and cooked to perfection. To top it off, the cheesecake was a sweet, creamy finish that wrapped up the meal to our satisfaction. I had a very disappointing experience at Caspian Restaurant. I made a reservation for four people via Yelp in advance. When we arrived, the hostess struggled to find our reservation but eventually seated us on the patio towards the back. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from there. After being seated, we received no service at all. We waited for over 20 minutes without a single waiter or waitress attending to us. It was clear to us that they did not want our business. We finally decided to walk out and leave. Needless to say, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this place to anyone. The lack of service was unacceptable. read more

I have been in too many restaurants from all the nations but I have never paid for one tea without any refill $6. This place is empty but they will double charge you to catch up for their expenses, for example for one tea and one free refill after that you pay $12 here which is kind of overpriced but I talked to their waiter about it and he said because they increased tariffs!!!! we increased price for hot tea !!! Which is insane. Each tea should be $3 with a free refill on it. These people need to know that they are losing their customers. read more

Mother's Day dinner would have been better if the waiter had gotten our water glasses and champagne in a timely manner. We never received the champagne for my two sons who had asked during the meal. We were ignored and then then given our check. The waiter mentioned that he was working alone during the time we waited. It does not excuse poor service. Management should look at staffing issues especially on Mother's Day celebrations. The ad on the Caspian Website Mentioned Unlimited Champagne on Mothers Day; yet we were told one glass per customer. read more
