Our 20-something year old awning here in Signal Hill was stuck in the extended position. We heard about Pedro through relatives that had a beautiful awning installed in Huntington Harbor, so we gave him a call. He was available within a few days and quoted us a very reasonable service call fee over the phone. We thought we would have to replace the awning due to its age (and that the original manufacturer is out of business) but Pedro had spare parts collected from his jobs over the years. He was able to perform the repair on his initial visit and our awning works again. This is quick, effective, well-priced service. We contacted Castagna awnings to repair a broken arm on the retractable awning above our deck. We did not consider contacting any other awning company for this repair due to prior experience with Castagna where they were exemplary in replacing our awning canvas cover. The same day that Castagna was contacted for the broken arm repair, Pedro came over to our home, and at our request, provided proposals for the broken arm repair as well as complete replacement of our approximately 20 year old awning. We opted for the proposal to replace both arms with upgraded product as the awning, and especially the canvas previously replaced by Castagna, was in excellent condition. The very next day, Pedro called and stated that he had acquired the new arms for the awning and indicated that he could come over that day and affect the repairs, which he did. It was a difficult repair process due the design of the original arm brackets, and the corroded nature of the components. Pedro completed the repair flawlessly and the awning is now operating better than ever. I really appreciate the rapid responsiveness of Castagna, in addition to the fairness of their proposals, and the excellent work performance. We just recently had a window awning and a motorized sun screen shade on one of our windows. Wow, both are so handy to have. It's so nice not to have to rely on plantation shutters, which darken the room too much. The motorized screen shade is so easy to use and lets a lot of air and light in while cutting down on glare and heat. We really like this feature. It's not cheap, though. Getting a quick estimate, reliable communication via text, and getting a fairly easy and quick installation done by Pedro, the owner, are what led me to give them five stars. Definitely would recommend. They are unable to get Sunbrella fabrics at this time due to COVID-19 manufacturing delays, but they offer a comparable brand that had nice colors. read more

Just came across my own review! A few years ago I got the house painted and used Castagna for a new fabric awning over a west facing bathroom window. Gets hot in summer! Upon further inspection, much later, I noticed the new awning was smaller than the old one. So in fact they stole my larger awning frame which covered more of the window and gave me a smaller one. Now it's time for a new awning and I'm looking for a reputable contractor. I may want a metal awning. read more

I called Pedro out to see if he could replace just the fabric on the awnings he had built for me probably ten years ago. There wasn't anything wrong with the fabric other than our homes in a townhouse community had recently been painted and I needed them to be a different color. He came out in short order and even he was amazed at the excellent condition the Sunbrella fabric was in after ten+ years with the harsh west exposure. Not only did he have the perfect color, but he took the measurements and said he would be back to install the replacement fabric on-site so I wouldn't have to live without any awnings during their manufacture.
