    Where's the beans

My wife and I have been supporting this business for years. They have done nothing but go down hill. Even though giving them second chances time after time, they continue to show their true colors. Prices keep increasing but the service and quality keep getting worse. Including the portion sizes. The latest is the bean tostadas. Normally so big that it breaks the tortillas from the size. Not so much anymore. The amount of beans was literally 1/3 of the normal amount. Definitely not a $6.00 bean tostada. Even as I called and let them know a local fast food restaurant for $2.99 gives a better portion they didn't bat an eye. Now I know why they have recently posted a sign about wrong order issues and not giving refunds or fixes. We go through the drive thru to take it home and enjoy. NOT. to have to take it back 10 miles one way to have it 'fixed'. Do it right the first time and you wouldn't have so many complaints. And on top of that, loose so many customers. After so many changes, we are done. New, and more customer oriented establishments are out there and will deserve our ongoing support. It used to be such a great place to eat. Key words, used to be. So don't bother nor spend your hard earned money. Their own sign of warning should be more than enough to understand that they don't care. Attached is a picture of my so called '$6.00' plain bean tostada. You be the judge...

Pool of liquid from grilled fish burrito

Ordered grilled fish burrito and it was so full of this liquid that it literally made a pool on my plate that went past my nail bed. The burrito literally squished and they even wrapped it three times to contain it. How do they find this acceptable?

So good but it too big

Service is very bad and talk back to customer too. I came to this restaurant around 10:40am. On July 20 we pay $74.22 is a lot of money. And the guy talk back to us too. He said "So don't Come Back" u don't suppose to said that to customer.

Fake cheese like plastic and bleeds out grease. Literally worst food you can buy don't do it! The lady at the window seems nice though.

I ordered the three rolled tacos with rice and beans. Love the fresh guacamole, lettuce, tomato's & cotija cheese on top! The menu includes the following: tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, enchiladas, tostadas, nachos, asada fries, combo plates, family pack (includes one pound meat, rice, beans, onion, cilantro, red or green salsa, flour or corn tortillas and liter of soda), catering (five or ten pounds of meat), breakfast plates and burritos. Meats to choose from: asada, pollo, alpastor, carnitas, deshebrada, lengua, tripa and buche. Nice, friendly, employees, great food, plenty of parking out front and in the back. Note; inside is a small seating area, however you can get it to go. Wish they were closer so I could visit more often!

Tacos were $3 each and 2 were a light meal.  If I was very hungry I'd want 3.  Carne asada was tender and I liked the flavor which had a hint of sweetness along with the beef flavor.  Flour tortillas were soft and I liked the mild flour flavor. Server was nice and efficient.

We decided to sit down for lunch, and they had some pretty good deals going on for their specialty enchiladas: only $9.99 for two enchiladas with beans and rice. Hell yeah, dude! You even get to choose red or green sauce and shredded beef or chicken. It was absolutely delicious. My daughter and I shared an enchilada off of the children's menu. I've gotta say, our waitress was pretty freaking cool. She was super understanding of the fact that my child was frustrated because she was hungry, and she was very patient with us--which I appreciate, especially having anxiety in public. The cute little shop has plenty of seating, including kid-friendly options like high chairs and boosters. It's very clean and smells amazing! The food was out fast, hot, and delicious. The staff was friendly, courteous, and kind. Even the customers, who seemed to be regulars, were very understanding of the fact that my 10-month-old "chose violence" today. Thank you for hosting our lunch and being an amazing part of Yucca Valley! Guys, if you need a fast Mexican spot, this is definitely it. Enchiladas on point, rice on point, and the beans taste like you went straight across the border and got them from someone's abuela. Food wise, that turned out to be the highlight. Anyway, I ordered the El Guero Soecial: steak with cactus, and all the fixings. However when I ordered the steak "medium rare" I felt that it is at this point when the server should have told me that the steak is prepared in beef jerky-like strips, more appropriate for a fajita plate. But even for fajitas, they are served on the dry side, salty, with a texture more resembling leather than beef. It's not so bad when you combine it with the accompanying pico de gallo, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, rice/beans and wrap it into a warm corn tortilla. No lime sightings anywhere for some reason. Now, the cactus: maybe if you're a fan of Okra or any other slimy textured veggie, you might like it, but I just can't bring myself to enjoy what I would describe as a green pepper that was trampled over by a garden snail. But try this desert delicacy and judge for yourself. Finally, do NOT order the chicken wings. I paid $15 for six small, burnt, overly salted wings. Not sure what I was thinking. Mexican restaurants aren't known for chicken wings after all, are they. Great ambience, maybe try the tacos and enchiladas next time. That's all...

Okay, being totally honest, this wasn't the absolute best food of our entire Joshua Tree-Palm…read moreSprings trip, but a close 2nd. BUT it was definitely the biggest, most positive surprise when it came to expectations vs. actual quality! We landed in Palm Springs late in the evening and were starving on our way out to Joshua Tree. After a quick Yelp search for something open past 7-8pm, this spot popped up. We pulled into a super quiet parking lot and found this tiny little place. Looking at it from the outside, we honestly figured it would just be a quick, forgettable pitstop. Boy, were we wrong. For starters, the place was relatively full for a Tuesday evening! We ordered the duck confit nachos, the kimchi bulgogi sandwich, and the pony wings. Wow! Granted, our expectations were unfairly low walking in, but this turned out to be probably our second-best meal of the entire week--and we ate out every single day! It absolutely crushed it in terms of exceeding expectations. It also helped that we happened to be there on a Wednesday, so all the wines were half-priced! Unfortunately, since we weren't familiar with the area, we didn't know exactly how much further we had to drive to our accommodations, so we couldn't imbibe more in such a welcoming environment. (Missed opportunity, but safety first!) Oh, and definitely save room for dessert--their pie with ice cream of the day was delicious too! If you are passing through, do not sleep on this place. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in the area!

The young lady who served us was very sweet and understanding. We had a 2yrld with us and we requested extra pickles (cuz that's all that toddlers want).Eventually another staff member visited our table for some chit chat and had a laugh. We ordered 2 entrees and an app. Crispy chicken sandwich - the crispy coating slid off of the chicken thigh but still had some good flavor. The jalapeño ranch was expected to have somewhat of a kick but was more of a love tap. Imo, the crispy potato chips were a nice touch. Pretzel balls - excited for pretzels and cheese, the plate arrives at the table looking more like falafel than pretzels, they taseted burnt. The cheese they come with however, SPOT ON! My fiance had the Tiny Pony burger and stated the caramelized onions were top notch. Then she proceeded to scarf the burger down and say "it was alright"..... make it make sense. Overall, we will be visiting The Tiny Pony again in the future.
