It's actually zero stars. This company was called out through our home warranty. They rescheduled twice and when they showed up, he breezed through and said he had to measure the spring for our garage door. He said we had to remove our storage racks above because he couldn't work with them there which is BS. I'm in my mid 60's, I can't take all the stuff down and remove the racks. Then he said he didn't have the spring in stock and would have to order it. He said he would send me an email with all the info. Never got an email. I sent an email to the address on the business card he gave me and never heard back. I called this morning and left a message as to how long it would take to get the spring and for them to come back out. (Door has been broken for 2 weeks now with my car trapped inside). Still haven't heard anything. We finally called the warranty company backed and asked if we could find another vendor. They said there was a note in the record stating this company turned the order back over to them because they didn't have the part and to find someone else to fix it! Here we are waiting for info and they blew it off! Terrible service. read more

I contacted Old Republic Home Protection for an issue with my garage door. Old Republic contacted Castle Contractor (license #933993). I received a call today (12/30/2019) at approximately 11:26 AM from Castle, to schedule a window for a contractor to come by from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. I was told I would be given a call when the technician was 30 min out. The contractor, Alex Castillo, didn't call me until approximately 5:00 PM, and stated he was running late. Castillo showed up at 5:20 PM and I showed him the garage door and explained what happened. Castillo did not bother to inspect the door, and within about 30 seconds of stepping into the garage, proceeded to lead the conversation with what he thought the warranty was or wasn't going to cover. He said that in his experience the only thing the warranty would cover was the spring but that the spring on my door looked fine. I told him that my warranty covered more than the spring and I said I wasn't concerned with what the warranty covered, I wanted to know what was wrong with the garage door and what it was going to take to fix it. Castillo refused to provide an estimate and proceeded to argue about the warranty. He expressed that if he did the work he wasn't going to get paid, that he wouldn't do a job for people like me anyway (whatever that means), and that it wasn't worth his time; at which point I asked for his information and kicked him out of my house. His lazy attitude and passive aggressiveness is not the type of service I need nor expected to receive. Please send me someone that is willing to work and provide honest services for honest pay. read more

My main torsion spring broke on our new home so we called new home warranty and they called Castle on 1/24. Their tech came out on Saturday 1/25 but did not have the .250 spring I needed so he told us he would place an order with his office and they would let me know when it arrived and set the appointment. Understand that when this spring breaks you can't open the door so my car was stuck in the garage until this gets fixed. After hearing nothing from Castle on Monday we called them and text the office 2 times with NO response, on our call on Tuesday they answered the phone to tell us they have no idea when the spring will arrive even though these springs can be bought at Home Depot for $70.00. We called New Home Warranty who called Castle and then called us back to tell us that the spring was in now stock and they would be contacting us. It's now Wednesday and we have not heard anything from Castle so we text their tech and he told the spring is not in stock and he as no idea when they can repair the issue, so Castle lied to New Home Warranty. We called Home Warranty again to tell them to cancel this service as I called Avila Garage Doors who has the spring in stock and will fix my problem with 2 hours of my call. My garage door stopped working and my home warranty company sent out Castle to do the job. I called them immediately since it's so inconvenient when the garage doesn't work. The female who answers the phone is always friendly and professional. The tech they sent out, Alex, was excellent. His customer service skills are top notch. He showed me what he replaced, how it worked and was kind and professional the entire time. He did not leave until he knew I was satisfied with the job. He assured me that I could reach out to them if there were any issues with the work. He even fixed a broken latch on my garage door. That's top notch service! Noe originally came out to look at a circuit issue as part of my home warranty. We discovered we needed an upgraded panel. The panel was installed in 1968 so it was time as we plan to do a kitchen remodel and solar as well. Noe just finished the job today. He and John did a first class job. The new panel looks great and they even took my garbage cans down to the street and washed off the driveway from the drywall dust. They closed in the drywall removal that needed to be torn out to install the new panel. Noe even corrected a few of my DIY electrical mistakes. Unfortunately I didn't have a choice picking this company they were assigned by OLD REPUBLIC HOME PROTECTION a warranty company picked out by the sellers we bought our house in Vista, CA which I would give ZERO STARS if possible. I explained to the warranty company that our breakers were tripping constantly in the house he said that would be covered under warranty & was a definite issue. Technician from Castle came out said our breakers were too small & would not replace under the warranty did Nothing and left. Was charged $65 for an issue that was supposed to be covered technician took 1 minute to look at box & left very rude people. Bottom line DO NOT USE CASTLE OR OLD REPUBLIC they are into scamming customers!!! read more

I had an electrician from Castle Contractor come to my home on a warranty call. He was somewhat rude to us but I felt as long as he fixes our issue then no problem. He told me that it was a wiring problem and it should be no problem. I got a call and was told it was not under warranty and they would not cover it cause the electrician said somebody disconnected the wires on 5 lights. REALLY? One day the lights worked and then all of a sudden they magically got disconnected. I am sure he just did not want to come back cause he felt he could not make money on the repair call because it was warranty work. I feel very cheated by this company!!!!! read more

This company was sent from my home warranty. A breaker that worked fine for 15 years for a water heater wasn't working properly. I had to work so a friend was at the property when the tech came. He was literally there a few minutes, did no trouble shooting, said that the breaker wasn't sufficient, took the $75 copay, and that he was going to call me. He never called. I called and left a message but was never called back. I called again and they actually answered the phone for the first time after several calls. I spoke with the woman in the office who was no help. She said the breaker needed to be upgraded. I asked why it worked fine for 15 years and she said "I have no idea." Then I got an email from Old Republic stating the job was complete. The job was not complete because Castle did nothing other than take my $75. I see why they have so many bad reviews and am filing a complaint with the warranty co. read more

Had this company come to fix my garage door through fidelity National home warranty. They came to "fix" my garage door, charge us $175 more for replacing parts not covered by the home warranty and told us to call them if the issue still persists. A few days later, same issue happened. We called castle contractors and we were told we should call the home warranty again for them to come over and fix the same issue. They came back and finally fixed the garage door issue. Then I found out later on that fidelity National home warranty charged us another fee for the second call coz castle contractor charged us for their back job. Now am trying to dispute the second charge and getting nowhere. So frustrating especially when you paid extra to have parts replaced and get double charged for the same service. read more

I'll be quick: Service requested Last November. My Landlord already paid the service. I have called them at least 8 times. left 8 messages with my phone number. Nobody answered the phone and nobody called me back. I contacted my landlord, he told me that after 3 attempts he was able to get them on the phone, but nobody ever called him back after his previous calls. He suggested me to keep going calling them until when they will answer the phone. BTW, Has been 5 months I have been waiting for this fan to be fixed... thanks God it was a water leak!!!! ahah So far terrible experience. Do yourself a favor and call a different company that cares about its customers, as Castle Contractors surely DOESN'T! My home warranty set up an appointment for a contractor to investigate and fix an electrical outage in one of my apartments. I called Castle Contractor on the first day and asked that they contact me directly regarding the outcome. 5 days later when they finally came out, I again called and spoke directly with "Artemisa" and explained that I was the home owner and the technician was on his way to my property and I wanted to make sure that he contacted me directly to discuss the outcome. Artemisa agreed she would call the technician immediately and remind him to call me. He never called yesterday, so this afternoon I called and spoke with Artemisa again, and she stated that if I wanted to know what the outcome was I would have to call my home warranty directly. I told her that I am the one paying the fee and warranty and I am the owner and I should be able to know from the technician what was the issue, and she became very arguementative and stated that it is not her responsibility to let the homeowners know what the issue is, and since the technician turns in his findings to the home warranty if I need to know anything than I need to speak with them, which is ridiculous. I explained to her that I had already spoken to her and she agreed to have the contractor call me, and she said well I think the contractor already told your tenant what was wrong and he is only advised to tell one person! wth?? That is a lie, first my tenant was not home, and 2nd I am the Owner and since I am paying the fee, I am entitled to know what are the findings, and she said again if you want to know call your home warranty. I explained that it takes about 30-45 min to get through authorizations to speak with the home warranty, and she said she did not care. I told her I would never use her company again, and she said, "again, I do not care!" Ugh! This is the 3rd time I have had issues using this company. Artemisa is a very rude and condescending employee with no communication skills. She does poorly at her job and should not be in customer service. When they contacted us they were told that we needed the balast replaced in our kitchen. They new that this was a "Warranty" job from Old Republic but scheduled an appointment anyway! When they came out that is when they said it "Wasn't Covered" di nothing and still charged us the $75.00 fee. The company was dispatched through my home warranty company, Old Republic Home Protection. The work of fixing 2 electric outlets in the dining room. The technician provided two solutions to the issue during the visit. 1, Break the wall inside to do the rewiring. 2, Lead new wire from an exterior outlet, break the exterior wall and connect the two outlets to electricity from the exterior. To avoid the hassle of fixing drywall inside, I choose the second option, and the technician said he will *send a report* to the insurance company, and the insurance company will dispatch him again to finish the work after the work approved. All seems good by that time. The result is a different story. In the report to the insurance company, the technician said because of a *wall remodeling* he had *no access* to inspect and fix the issue. A "remodeling" exists maybe years ago by previous owners or exists in the original building plan of the house. I have to remove the whole wall between the dining room and the living room he can go back to finish the rewiring. And he didn't even mention a word about the option of fixing the outlets with an exterior wire. After 4 times' phone calls, 175 minutes' calling time in total with Old Republic Home Protection. They still denied the serviceservice and told me the decision is from a supervisor. What serice did I require? 1, The technician told me another solution to fix the issue, no need to break the wall inside. "Sir, this is not in the report. We don't know what you are talking about". 2, Dispatch the technician again, tell me which part of the interior wall I need to break so that he can do the rewiring. "Sir, the technician said he already told you the part needed to be broken during the first visit, you will be charged a $***.*** fee if you want him there again." Guess I need to either pay the extra cost from my pocket or break the whole 7-8 feet wall for him since, in fact, he didn't tell me during the visit? LOL. 3. Fine, I am frustrated by the service provided by both Old Republic Home Protection and Castle Contractor. Provide me several hundred dollars as credit so that I can hire a contractor myself to get the outlets fixed. "Sorry sir, we can't do that. You need to fix it out of your pocket first and then provide us the receipt and contractor information." Then you will cover the cost? "It depends sire. If the work is covered in our insurance after review". BTW I still owe them a $75.00 trade call fee. Guess I have to pay it no matter what before it due and future liens or collections come. read more

We loss services our door camera, entry way and the lighting to our stairway. Fidelity National Home warranty Company sent Castle Contractor to our home.... Noe arrived nonchalantly. Opened our electrical panel visually checked our light switch to the. Stairway and said he couldn't done the problem. His trouble shooting was at a minimum... he states that there's a pinched wire inside to walls what ever sense that made and he would submit a report to my warranty company.... 1 1/2 weeks fo by and I call for a follow up.. his report to the warranty company was way different. The funny part about it is FIDELITY honored to bogus report and stated it's not covered... I was livid the said we can report CASTLE CONTRACTOR and never refer customer to the .... well it appears that they're in this fraudulent business together according to all of the similar reviews. Long story short I called another company and the problem was resolved in less than 30 minutes.... it was a loose negative wire in my upstairs switch that controlled the stairway lights... Noe never used any equipment to test anything. What a waste if $75 and a service call.... THIS COMPANY AND FIDELITY HOME WARRANTY ARE RIDICULOUSLY FRAUDULENT! We had Noe, the owner, come out for a Fidelity Warranty claim. He was super professional, nice, patient with explaining the issues, and very honest. I would call him back for service aside from a home warranty claim any time. Reading through some of the poor scores for his company, I think people have a misconception of how it works. He is not in cahoots with the warranty companies. He has his own independent business, and makes money off of the work he reports as needing to be completed. I've gotten upset about a plumber coming out before and saying the work wouldn't be covered by the warranty, but after understanding why, it made sense. My home warranty company - Old Republic Home Protection - assigned Castle Contractor to fix an issue with my garage door opener. I received a call on the first business day after I submitted the service request and they scheduled an appointment for the next day. Alex called 20 minutes before he expected to arrive, arrived at the beginning of the 4 hour window, immediately diagnosed the issue, and replaced the bad part and tested the opener in about 10 minutes. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY!!! If your home warranty company assigns this vendor for your garage door/opener repair, do NOT accept them and ask for another vendor. They are unreliable and not competent. They will NEVER answer your calls and screen them. The ONLY way to reach them is to use a different phone number to call them...and then, they will lie to you about the status on looking for the parts or reporting back the solutions back to the warranty company. It appears they just get the fee payments for the initial assessments (or non-assessment at that) from the warranty company and that will be the last time you'll hear from or see them. This is after more than a week without a functioning garage door. I had to, ultimately, pay for another garage door repair company to come out and assess. I had placed a service call in February 2022 for my garage door thru our home warranty. They dispatched this contractor to come out, after they came out they stated they had to order the part, weeks passed and didn't hear back from them. Weeks later they called me to inform the part had arrived, once I called them back to schedule a time for them to come out they stated it was the wrong part(made no sense to me). I called them multiple times after this and they would never answer the phone. When I would text them they would take days to call/text back, they would tell me the part was backordered. Fast forward to June 2022, they informed me that they couldn't give me a ETA for the part. She stated she would tell the home warranty to cash me out. I called a local garage door repair company on a Sunday morning, 2 hours later they were out replacing the part that this contractor stated didn't have an ETA. I have Fidelity Home Warranty, and I called to schedule an appointment to fix the kitchen garbage disposal. Fidelity referred me to Castle Contractor. The first visit was scheduled for a Wednesday 1:00PM to 5:00PM timeframe. The technician came at the house, and confirmed the garbage disposal needed to be replaced. However, he couldn't do the job because it needed its own outlet to be compliance with city code, and he's not an experienced electrical technician to do the work. Therefore, I had to take another appointment for the coming Friday 8:00AM to Noon timeframe. Friday came around, and the technician (Alex) called me at 9:15AM leaving a VM stating that he would be there in 20 minutes. I spoke with Alex at 9:29AM to confirm that my father was at the property to let him in the house since I couldn't be there myself due to the work schedule. However, Alex said that my father wasn't there in time, and he scheduled another appointment in the meantime. I tracked the phone records, and this wasn't even 15 after Alex had left me a VM stating he'd be there in 20 minutes. He clearly set expectations that he didn't meet, but said that he would be back in the afternoon to replace the garbage disposal. The technician never showed up in the afternoon. There was no answer each time I called the office number, and when I was able to finally get a hold of someone, I was told he wasn't going to make it, and I would have to reschedule for Wednesday of the following week. I visited Yelp to find out the experience people have had dealing with this company, and I should have done that in the first place. These guys are not professionals, and need to change their service philosophy on top of hiring better technicians since the second appointment shouldn't even have been necessary had the first technician known what he was doing. I will never recommend these guys to anyone, and I'm not even sure why they're contracted with Fidelity Home Warranty. read more

This company provided a false claim to my home warranty and they denied my claim for my garage repair. I called Veronica at 905 when they are supposed to open to get clarification on the contractors report and got no answer. I called back again at 930 and she said she just opened! From the beginning Veronica was very defensive and rude for no reason. Veronica was made aware of how rude she was being and she responded in a very unprofessional way and hung up. I get a phone call five minutes later from the Noe (her husband) defending her and being equally rude and unprofessional to me. All I wanted was an explanation of his report. Mind you, when the contractor came to my house. Noe was late, completely unaware of the fact he was supposed to take care of both my garage and electrical concerns. Not to mention he never even took a look at my garage to fully be able to give it a fair diagnosis. But he goes to his car to see if he has the part to fix it and leaves. We get a denial a few days later. This company take the bids and make the bids low so they get them but then submit false reports to avoid having to fix the problem. When trying to locate them there is no physical address and no phone number to contact contractors directly. They call from blocked numbers and you can only reach them on their business cell phone. Virtually a business ran out of an apartment. There is a reason they have no physical address and actual phone numbers and it's because they run a shady business!! Fidelity National Home Warranty assigned this contractor to us. I see a prior pattern of other users being stuck with this contractor as well. It is in the warranty company's interest to deny claims so they will not have to pay for preexisting conditions. This contractor will find any reason to help the warranty company deny your claim. WARNING: don't pay money for their services. They seem to be able to survive by being the "expert" who will deny your claim for the warranty companies. read more

This company was assigned to us by old republic home warranty. Came to the house and said burnt breaker was not covered and was preexisting problem because of the burn marks. Wanted 300 dollars more to fix, when it should have been covered by warranty. Lights were on, next day off...how is that preexisting? I called receptionist.... Very rude and unprofessional. I asked if they looked for reasons to say it's not covered .... she said many customers have said the same thing and laughed.....huh maybe we are on to something here? I called old republic and they agreed that it should have been covered and are sending another company out to fix problem. DO NOT USE.... there are other good companies with good customer service use them instead. Update....2nd company came out to the house and diagnosed and fixed/replaced 3 breakers in 5 minutes. This new company said they didn't understand why Castle didn't fix it to begin with. As I told the technician that the garage door is broken. And that night, I put the lock on, so that the door would not open during the night. He came out next day and I told him that. Later he reported the home warranty company that I open the door with the lock on and that's the reason the door is broken! And obviously, the warranty company denied my claim. I called this company and explained everything, but denied to change the report and denied to accept their fault. I spent over $700 to fix this, which could be covered by the warranty company, because of the technicians lack of listening and care for their customer.
