The Fried Chicken sandwich with spicy honey and the shrimp and crab roll, which I split with the wife and some Cajun fries

Tucked away in the downtown district, this little gem will give you a taste of the Big Easy with a NW twist and locally found items. A larger restaurant than you may think, this place has a front, bar and then a back section. Service is always prompt, appropriate and knowledgeable. You will find the decor a bit eclectic as you get NW vibe with the whimsy of NOLA. Cajun inspired with scallops, shrimp and grits, bone marrow and other delicious bites, you will find a veritable plethora to choose from. A large and very diverse libation menu will also keep your attention.

Wonderful, incredible service. Our waitress was super awesome, we brought a bottle of wine and she offered to decanter it for us. I got the filet (5 oz) and it came with super yummy mashed potatoes and asparagus, perfect portion for a small 22 year old. The restaurant itself was quiet enough so u could easily hear people across the table from you and it is super pretty inside, very nice ambiance.

Filet Mignon (8oz) with Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Honey Carrots and a Demi Glaze Sauce.

After receiving the small gumbo (Decent but too sweet, definitely missing some Cajun Seasoning). As it stands I'm sitting on 30+ minutes waiting for my meal (Filet Mignon). Nice spot but that's where this review ends being positive. Meal arrived 35+ minutes later. Great presentation, decent flavor but the Filet seems pretty tough. I'm seated at the bar and the tender isn't very attentive or friendly. The hostess however was incredible, nice and very polite. All in all, this would have been a 4-5 star review but the wait was a bit too long for the product.

Love the vibe of this place. We stopped in for beverages and had 2 very different both very good espresso martinis. The bartender was so friendly, prices are great and I know the food is too from a prior meal here

Fantabulous farm-to-fork focus fare using local producers as much as possible, artful all-inclusive ambiance (including wheelchair accessible front and side entries) with standard height tables throughout with plenty of elbow room between them, warm welcome at the door and stellar service throughout the meal made our early dinner at Castor on a rainy Monday evening the food highlight of a multi-day visit to Corvallis. MENU: changes at least seasonally so see the website menu link for the full offerings as the website is kept up to date. HOURS: Open for lunch through dinner on Tuesday through Saturday and for dinner on Monday starting at 4:00. Happy Hour here is called "recess" - clever given Corvallis is a college town - with discounts on some menu items and libation specials. LIBATIONS: Full bar with specialty cocktails and also no alcohol creations. Thoughtful wine list by glass and bottle. Also well curated pour lists for hard liquors. $: Our choices for this meal were glasses of wine from a thoughtfully curated list (an Oregon Pinot and a Rhone blend on 'of the day' special at the "recess" price for total $21), salad of local farmer greens ($8), pimento cheese board with bacon jam, fresh peaches and crostini ($14), gumbo ($12), ricotta gnocchi with summer veg ($15), and two desserts of whiskey and cookies ($10 each) for $90. We thought the prices were so reasonable for excellent food. SERVICE: The server, Margot, who greeted us warmly at the door had us feeling well tended throughout the meal. Both friendly and professional, she knew the menu to make recommendations, offered a taste of the wine I was considering to help me decide and paced the meal perfectly. Brava. TUNES: Even the playlist was perfect for the space and at a level that added to ambiance but didn't compete with conversation. ACCESSIBILITY: On this trip I was using a wheelchair and I so appreciated that there is FAQ at the website that speaks to wheelchair access at both doors, front and side, and assures a diner that both levels are equally accessible to diners with mobility limits. Few restaurants get it this perfectly right. All people are welcome here to enjoy the food and hospitality. https://www.castorcorvallis.com/faqs PARKING: On street in downtown Corvallis.

Great experience at Castor! The pork chop was phenomenal, and the sear on the scallops was perfection! Really enjoyed the cozy but upscale dining experience. Highly recommend!

What is there NOT to like about Castor??? From the food to the service, from the quasi-industrial/antique vibe, Castor Rocks! If you arrive after 6, parking can be found next door and an after dinner stroll downtown is the perfect topper, that's only after an amazing dessert! Btw, many of their offerings (which changes!) are locally grown/acquired!!! Thankful my Aunt turned us in to this new "fav"!

Good day Yelpies!! Imagine a place that not only makes…read moregreat food but will tantalize your taste buds. If you haven't experienced this before then this is a great place to start. Everything on our plates complemented the steak and fish. Both were cooked perfectly and literally melted in our mouths. I've been in the food industry for years and have found a place that really knows food and the process to make it an experience. I almost forget the server who took the time to help us with our food choices and drinks. Get in here my friends. You won't be disappointed Cheers The Dutchman

A full-blown masterpiece. This isn't your average slice of cheesecake. What Craves serves is a velvety, rich, and luxuriously whipped creation perched atop pillowy-soft brioche toast that's lightly crisped to perfection. It's drizzled in a deep marionberry reduction that strikes the perfect balance between tart and sweet, and topped with plump, juicy blackberries that taste like they were picked fresh that morning. Add in the subtle crunch of a graham cracker crumble dusted over the whole plate, and you've got a dessert that's indulgent, elegant, and dangerously addictive. The texture contrast between the creamy cheesecake filling, the light toast, and the rich berry drizzle is unforgettable. It's like French toast met cheesecake, fell in love, and had a baby--with Oregon marionberries blessing the union. Whether you're a local or just passing through Corvallis, make Craves your dessert destination. I'll be coming back for another round (or three) of this marionberry magic. Bravo to the team--this place is a sweet tooth's dream!

The menu is broad enough that there's plenty to pick from. We were there for dinner. The food was delicious! Mom had the grilled cheese with sweet potato fries (they were even good as cold leftovers!!). The sandwich comes with a combo of 3 melted cheeses. Dad had the honey glazed chicken. Also really good. Hubby had the 2-meat BBQ plate with pulled pork and 1/2 rack of ribs. He really liked his ribs. He was pleased with the baked beans, too. And I got the steak salad. Delicious! When trying a new place, I always go for that and I was not disappointed one bit! I tried both the baker's roll (rosemary and sage today) and the heart attack roll. Neither made me think I was eating GF. As first-timers, we were given free chocolate chip cookies. The centers were soft and moist with crisp edges. I do like a ymmy sweet to finish off the meal. It's really nice to have a GF restaurant where the family can all go and find something without compromising selection or taste. We'll certainly be back!!

The moment we walked in the door at Eats & Treats, we got a friendly greeting and a smile. As we…read morewere walking to the table, they asked if it was our first visit (it was), as that meant complimentary chocolate chip cookies! The large menu can seem a bit overwhelming, but once you figure out how the BBQ plates work, it's easy to order one of their standard dishes, or customize your own combo. I ended up going with the "Single Plate", with an additional side. I got pulled pork with Carolina BBQ sauce, mac n' cheese, a baker's roll (varies from day to day), and added sweet potato waffle fries. Everything was delicious. The pulled pork was a little more "wet" than I'm used to, but it was smoky and flavorful, especially with the BBQ sauce. The roll was almost muffin-like, with rosemary seasoning mixed into the batter, which I quite enjoyed. The mac n' cheese definitely has a cheesy texture, with a caramelized top, but the flavors weren't as sharp as I like -- still very good, especially after I accidentally spilled some of that Carolina BBQ sauce on top of it. My food gets all mixed together on a BBQ plate, anyway; so why not? LOL The sweet potato waffle fries get their own section, because they were that good. The coating was crispy and well seasoned, with a slight kick -- they were amazing. I would probably ask for ketchup to dip them in next time, but since they had brought me extra BBQ sauce (without my asking), I just used that... or ate them without any dipping sauce. Our server was amazing throughout our lunch. She was always friendly and informative, and really helped make for a great experience. She remembered our cookies at the end (we got them to go), and didn't miss a beat when we decided to order from their dessert case last minute. Since it was "pi day", they had lots of pie related options -- all small servings, for 1 or 2. My wife and I shared a Key Lime bar, which was delicious. It was a little richer than I expected, but was nice and creamy, with that tart lime kick. The crust was good and crunchy, too. We knew coming in that this establishment was all gluten-free, even though nobody in our party needed to avoid gluten, and I was preparing myself to be disappointed -- and I can happily say that never happened! A lot of what E&T serves is homemade, and they obviously know what they are doing, so their GF offerings far surpass many dining establishment's full gluten options. If you have lower expectations for GF food, as I did, leave them at the door. Even my daughter, who is a pretty good baker herself, was impressed with the "heart attack" roll that she ordered with her meal -- we have never seen GF bread that fluffy! These guys obviously know what they are doing. Oh yeah, and those chocolate chip cookies? So good -- soft, and loaded with chocolate chips. We will definitely stop in again next time we are in the area.
