Their prime rib is so tender you can cut it with a butter knife, all dinners served with a warm loaf of bread with homemade cherry butter. Service was excellent, the waitress made us feel very welcome. The food was great !!! My only complaint would be that the table was sticky. The waitress said that it was due to them using bleach to sanitize the tabletop. Over all, the experience was above average!!! I would recommend this place to others. read more

I'd give this one or two stars if it were in town. But considering the location it was ok. And power was out in the area so they were jammed with people. Staff did a great job taking care of the crowd. I got the impression the owners add Greek seasoning to stuff just about everything. The Onion soup was ok but had a weird flavor/spice added to it (Greek?). Mac-n-cheese I sent back it was I edible. Ribs we're fall off the bone tender but had a par-boiled taste. Why three stars? Came here for the first time a few days ago for my birthday dinner. Recommended to us, we were pleasantly surprised on how great the place was! We tried the ka bang shrimp which is similar to any bang bang or firecracker shrimp appetizer but with an extra little kick of hot sauce. Delicious! Ceased salad was good but the croutons got soggy pretty quickly which was disappointing. We both had filets, which unfortunately were a bit undercooked but rather under than over, I guess. Not a very large portion of meat but it was enough considering the amount of food we ordered. The perch partner was great. Bread was good but I would pass on the cherry butter, not tasty in my opinion. And the yummy sanders cream puff topped off the meal wonderfully! Service was okay. She seemed a bit overwhelmed, our food came out slower than the other tables that got there after us but we weren't in any hurry so it didn't really matter to us. We were in town exhibiting at the Algonac Art Fair. After seeing amazing reviews, we decided to try it. I had the pan fried walleye/perch special and my husband had the ribeye. I'm definitely a city girl when it comes to food. For a small town with nothing else this place is fine. I like the salads and the american cusine is ok for not having to leave town. I have tried the filet but not impressed. I would rather drive to my favorite steak house or a good fish place then get either. Sandwiches are good as well as the burgers. They told us it would be a 15 minute wait so we stood by the bar about 10 feet from the hostess stand. After about a half hour we checked and found our name scratched off. The hostess said she called us three times. We think she accidentally scratched us and didn't want to admit it. A few minutes later she quietly called our name, led us to a table, tossed the menus on the table and kept walking. The server was very nice and apologetic about the treatment. She brought a bread basket and I cut a slice and started eating it. I felt a hair in my mouth and pulled it out with the chewed bread still attached. I held the chewed bread dangling by the hair while servers and busboys walked past oblivious. Finally our server saw it and said "gross." She apologized again and offered another loaf of bread. I wasn't looking for a handout but thought they should have offered some kind of consolation. I think she may have offered a free drink but I'm not sure. The good news is that the ribeye steak was excellent. There aren't many choices in this area for a good meal and that steak was comparable to one you'd get at a legit steakhouse. I ordered the seafood platter & it came in under seasoned & the food was cold. The salmon on the plate was raw in the center, the Scallops were raw in the center & placed on top of plain white toast. The mussels were chewy & bitter. The clam chowder has overuse of flour with two pieces clam. The only thing good was the bread they bring before the meal. The kids chips was burned. Best to make reservations past 6 PM as this place is always packed, especially on weekends. We feel that Catch 22 is the only restaurant in this area that is "on the riverfront" that gives you a view and 5 star service, food and prices. I like the sesame tuna ahi the best but the rest of the family has their own favorites. Their strawberry cheesecake is the best I've had in ages. We all recommend this restaurant. The wife and I had ribeye my son had the salmon. We had the artichoke dip as an appetizer. My son had the ceaser salad the wife a house salad and I had mushroom soup. I've never reviewed a restaurant before (despite working in them for over 15 years) however I was so impressed by this place I had to share my experience! The service, food and overall ambiance all deserve two thumbs up. The teamwork was exceptional and the manager (or owner) made his presence known in a helpful, pleasant manner. We had bussers, servers and the bartender all greet or kindly address us throughout our experience- all with smiling faces! Having worked in restaurants most of my life I know how difficult/rare it is to genuinely exhibit a pleasant demeanor constantly, especially on a night as slow as it was tonight. Food was very good. Seating was awful. Asked hostess for a booth, there was a corner one available, bit they didn't seat us there because we were "only" a party of 3. Instead a tiny table in middle of aisle. Bumped constantly all dinner by other waitresses. Lots of tiny tables crammed together. Won't go out of my way to eat there again. read more

This place, Catch 22 Bistro is so dirty!! There is dust hanging down the walls. We were in a booth by the wall and my grandson pointed at it and said "Look how all that stuff (dust and dirt) is hanging on the wall." We will try it again but if they don't clean it up we won't be back. read more

My daughter had fish and chips which was mushy kind of like frozen fish sticks. My father in law and I both had the walleye/perch combination (pan fried) and the fish was practically tasteless except for the taste of uncooked flour. I've been here honestly 4-5 times trying everything from hamburgers, steak, salmon, and Alfredo and never once have I liked anything they have made me. The only things I've enjoyed from this restaurant are the appetizers. I will be giving this place a two star review because the service is always slow and the food is over priced for what you get. If you do try this place go for the spicy shrimp appetizer or the flaming cheese. read more

Very disappointed!! I was not satisfied with the sandwich I ordered (the way it was cooked), I sent it back and the waitress brought it back to me and said the cook said it's cooked perfectly?? Well it was chicken and it looked pink to me, so I was not going to chance it. I sent it back again and they had the nerve to put in on my bill. I told the waitress I would not pay for a sandwich I wasn't satisfied with and I literally took two bites. They did take it off the bill and charged $2.00 for the chips I ate. So I was pretty excited to eat here as my parents have been here twice and said the food was good, especially the prime rib. Naturally I order the prime rib, which I was told was almost out, and french fries. When the salad came out, I had a big hunk of lettuce and when it broke apart there was dirt on the inside. Should have been clue one, but instead I pulled that piece out and ate the majority of the salad, excellent ranch. When the prime rib came out, ordered medium, it looked pretty rare although I still eat rare. When I bit into it, it was unfortunately luke warm-cold. The flavor was not bad, but I am not a fan of cold or luke warm meat so I lost my appetite. I shared a piece with both my mom and step dad and they agreed that it was not what they have come to expect. My mom ordered the scallops and unfortunately for her, they were also luke warm to cold. She ended up eating them because she was really hungry, but again not an ideal meal. She also ordered the rice with her meal and it was also so cold that when she put the butter on it, it would not even melt. My step dad ordered the shrimp, and again it was luke warm. Since he had been drinking the majority of the day (watching the OSU vs. Michigan game), he could care less and devoured the shrimp as it was. When the waitress came over (she was friendly but did not pay much attention to our table as she would have noticed pretty quickly that the food was disappointing), I gave her the prime rib to package as my mom said she would heat it up at home. I did inform the waitress that it was cold and she apologized, but in the end the entire meal was disappointing for two out of three people. After I left the restaurant, I went home and am currently heating up some turkey from Thanksgiving as I need something good to eat tonight. So word of advice for people eating here, make sure that you ask immediately to ensure your food is heated properly or else you may have a "meh" experience. Probably one of the best places to eat for Algonac and surrounding areas. The service is always great and I've never waited to sit down during prime dinner hour. My husband and I are new to the area. We chose to try bistro, and was pleasantly surprised by how cozy it was inside. Very nice ambiance though casual. The food was fantastic and we've been there a few times. I highly recommend their Mac n Cheese. As a foodie and really good cook, I am hyper critical of most places I eat. (only to my husband). As most locals know it used to be called The Galley and had average food. So they tried to take it up a level. The staff dress fancier, the menu is more classy, and the portions are huge. But one thing that hasn't changed and is stopping the place from being upper class is the bar. The same rowdy crowd is there every time we come in and they are very loud. While there are many families there, the bar patrons don't seem to care by their loud drunken chortles and filthy language. So until this raucous bar, which takes up 1/3 of the restaurant, is dealt with, families BEWARE! read more

Reservations for a table were made a week ahead of time for a special occasion, our anniversary. Yet, when we were seated, it was in a tiny 2 person booth. When we asked the hostess why we didn't get a table, she told us that she was "forbidden" to change the seating arrangements she had made because other people had reservations, leaving us wondering what she called our week ahead reservation! This was a bit hard to understand as we saw that we were at the top of her list because of our early reservation. We were quite upset with this woman and the management who "forbade" her to honor our request for the reserved table we asked for when we called in. The most puzzling part was that there were several empty tables available. The moral of the story is, don't make a reservation or a special request ahead of time, as it is a guarantee of nothing. We left very disappointed without celebrating our special day with Catch 22. Not sure if we will ever take a chance on this restaurant again, despite it being recommended by a few good friends. read more
