We did not have a reservation the day we tried Catcher's Fish House, but I'm sure glad we stopped in. I had my two toddlers with me, and they accommodated my stroller on the outside deck area (while my youngest son snoozed peacefully). We placed our orders and took in the view of the water, and our food came in a reasonable amount of time. Let me tell you, I tried my son's chicken tenders (to test the temperature of course), and this is literally the BEST chicken tender meal I've ever had. I didn't know if I was just really hungry, so I had my friend taste a piece too, and she confirmed these were top tier chicken tenders we were dealing with. The waffle fries that came with it just somehow made the meal better (and they were perfectly fried). We had the calamari for an appetizer and it was delicious. My 3 year old even got in on helping us devour it. My salmon was good, and my friend's rigatoni dish was also good. These folks know what they're doing with their breaded chicken. With the combination of the beautiful weather, scenery, polite staff, and delicious food - this was a delightful experience. We'll be back! read more

Finally went to Catcher's for the first time the other day after passing by it on a near daily basis for the last year. Their mocktails and gelato dessert were quite tasty and I loved that they had the Knicks playoff game on. What I didn't enjoy however was that they didn't once check up on us after our drinks and food were ordered. I most likely would have ordered another beverage had I been asked how my first one was. Also, I didn't really appreciate the automatic addition of the 20% tip on the bill nor the additional service fee, especially when it was only two people. I took a look back at the menu and neither were disclosed first hand. I'm now seeing other reviews from fellow annoyed Yelpers who were equally frustrated. Perhaps a reminder to dig deeper next time when choosing a place to dine, even if it is just for drinks and dessert. read more

Came here last summer with a group of 4 and I recall our server making a smart remark because I ordered a mock tail while everyone else got shots & cocktails. He remained sarcastic the whole time. Anyways I let it go, maybe it was just this server. Came back recently on a weekend. We sat at the bar, the bartender was nice and greeted us. After placing our order, and receiving our items, we were no longer checked upon. There was an unusual smell at the place too, not sure what that was about. There's a lot of places on the Nautical Mile, but I enjoyed going to this one. Classy place, and the staff treated my family and I very well. As for the food, I had the paella and it was quite tasty. The space is like others but a bit more intimate. I've been here a few times and the food is very delicious. I've always went with my dad and his girlfriend when we were on the boat. There is also a street side so you can park in a parking lot and walk over. The place is very nice and you can sit inside and outside. My dad and his girlfriend all sat outside and it was a very nice day for it. The place is very modern which I like and where you can take your family to. As long and thin and not really wide. Service was great considering it was about 5 PM on a Tuesday. There was only a few people there and even when we left it wasn't crowded at all. I got the salmon which was very delicious , my dad's girlfriend got a burger, and my dad got the seafood dish. we also got steamed clams as an appetizer. Like I said before everything was very delicious and we enjoyed the meal. We got the bill and saw how expensive was. My first time here and it was great. We started outside but the flying bugs ran us inside. We had the oysters that were delicious in a cream sauce and we sopped up the sauce with the fresh bread they gave us. The mussels in white wine sauce was also really good. My main dish was bronzini fillet with spinach and roasted potatoes. I will definitely be going back again. It's a lil pricey but I can't complain . My friends and I were looking for a spot for lunch and came across this restaurant after roaming up and down the block. It stood out cause there was a huge space and there was indoor and outdoor dining. Plenty of tables but fairly empty on the Sunday afternoon that we came. Prices are reasonable considering there's lots of seafood options on the menu and portions are big. We ordered a few appetizers for the table: - Crispy calamari: wish the calamari was thicker. The ones here were the thinnest I've had and not my preferred texture since it was so thin but still fried well. - Crab cake: delicious, good chunks of crabmeat. - Coconut shrimp: 4 big pieces of fried shrimp per order with some kind of fried things in the middle. Good flavor! As for entrees, I got the crab bucatini. I was looking forward to bucatini pasta but unfortunately, they said that it would be served with linguine. The flavor was actually really good. Lovely tomato cream sauce with good amounts of crabmeat. I also got a side of seafood risotto which could be on entree on its own! It had smaller pieces of seafood but still very flavorful. I got to try my friend's seafood paella, which was so yummy. It was a huge portion, good to share for sure, and had lots of seafood and even chicken. The seafood on this was bigger pieces than the ones that came with the risotto. The tomato flavor in it also stood out and was really tasty. I also tried the sides of lobster mashed potatoes and parmesan truffle fries. The fries were just okay, not much truffle flavor and more like shoestring fries but not crispy enough in my opinion. The lobster mashed was delicious and had a good amount of lobster in it too! Overall, a great spot for lunch, dinner, casual meal with friends, or even a date. The menu has a decent variety of items but seemed to be more Italian and seafood focused. Definitely get their seafood items cause they don't skimp on the seafood and everything was cooked nicely! Opted to give this "new to us" place on the Nautical Mile a try tonight. This is there 3rd year in business according to our waiter, on the site of what was the former N'awlins restaurant. What was good - the service, the atmosphere, the seafood bisque and the charred octupus appetizer. It also looked like they had some nice cocktails as well - but we stuck with wine (pinot grigio and merlot) at $16 a glass. What was not good - the prices! I know food prices have gone up but damn! The lesson I learned, ask the price of the specials before ordering lol. $65 for the fra diavolo and $65 for the seafood paella. Wouldn't have been so bad as the portions were decent, but the seafood paella was disappointing. Not in the amount of seafood (plenty), but in the flavor. From now on I will be sticking to ordering this dish only from authentic Spanish restaurants! The other thing I didn't like is that they automatically added a 20% gratuity - we were 3 people! Came here once this summer and I would have never thought that this place would have kicked out the food they did I mean it was horrible I have to be honest. I started with oysters and had to send them back they were DIRTY a bunch of black stuff I was wiping on napkins it was gross!! Just horrible I sent them back and the replacement's weren't much better. I would never order oysters from here ever again & most importantly I do not recommend. Next I ordered a crab cake it was a good size , very good and tasted good also. I ordered a crab pasta and they must have held off on the crab because I didn't see any pasta in my dish at all. Unfortunately for me a random stranger walked up to me and touched my food so I had to send it back. When they sent it back out to me the pasta was completely different. We alerted the Maitre'd that our friend has a dairy allergy.... Oooops! That was forgotten. Not good. There were four of us, we ordered coffee. Only two were served. We ordered three deserts.... Two came out, and the Maitre'd began an argument with one of the servers in front of us. He threw the check in the table before we had finished our meal. We gave him two credit cards.... He charged one twice and said we could take it up with the credit card company. What should have been a $250 meal for four was $475.00 The prices on the menus were reasonable, but because he did not say the prices of the specials, we were shocked. The drinks and the food were good However, it wasn't until we received our check that we noticed a very unusual "note". The Bill read "WHITE COUPLE" on the upper right. I get that some restaurants use unique descriptions to identify customers but labeling ANYONE by race, and/or ethnicity is just not OK. There was live music and it was a really nice day which made for a nice ambiance. Service was good, our waiter kept coming back to check on us in a timely manner.
