We were regular customers in Moore for many years. When you closed we said one day we will drive out to Yukon and try it there. When we arrived no cars were there we should have taken the hint. The food is nothing like it use to be. $39.04 for two people is a waste. The baked potato was so cold the butter never melted. You could tell it had been In that pot a really long time. The collard greens here are REALLY good, and the catfish isn't bad. (It's the mild, corn-fed, farm raised stuff, not the muddy old farm pond catfish I grew up on in Arkansas and Oklahoma.) The bread pudding is decent but not stellar (ask Cajun King about good bread pudding!), and the Broccoli Slaw is really tasty, albeit just a bit sweet for my tastes. The hushpuppies come out of a bag -- that's abundantly clear. (It doesn't exactly require neurosurgical skills of the highest caliber to make fresh hushpuppies, for Pete's sake. Really.) Same goes for the tartar sauce -- again, something that's neither difficult nor expensive to make from scratch, yet the stuff here comes out of a huge jar in the back. The collard greens here are, again, damn near perfect. BIG smiles here for the greens. Service is essentially non-existent -- expect to be a big kid and serve yourself. (Hey, it's a buffet, Buttercup. Deal with it.) It's loud in here, so you'll have to adjust for that. Oh, and the average diner here weighs about six hundred pounds, it seems. (Sorry, but it's a fact. Must be a Canadian County thing. Maybe all that blubber keeps them warm in the winter. I dunno.) I hate all the plastic waste this locally owned chain generates -- Styrofoam plates, plastic flatware, etc. (Ever heard about compostables?) It's not cheap to eat here, by the way, some good dishes or not. Go in expecting to spend around twenty bucks a person when you add in drinks. I'm grew up on catfish in the South. I don't know what the product is that they take from a box in the freezer and fry and serve as catfish. The filets are thin, heavily battered and overcooked. The problem is not that most of the menu is fried, but that it is NOT fresh, it's frozen. WAY overpriced for such junk food. Pass it up! read more

When I first walked in, I got the feeling of a dumpy street vendor atmosphere. I looked over at the buffet area and was not impressed at all. Plastic utensils, star foam plates, plastic cups and paper towels. The only item I enjoyed on the buffet was the fried shrimp. The catfish and clams over battered, over seasoned. The hot vegetable area of the buffet item's looked over cooked and over buttered. Tried the mac and cheese, which tasted like water down imitation cheese with over cooked noddle's. The cocktail shrimp was very nicely presented and kept on ice. The cocktail sauce didn't complement the two varieties of shrimp. The cottage cheese on the salad side of the buffet had a twang after taste. My son's girlfriend wanted to use the bathroom and couldn't because the lady's room had fecal material on the toilet seat. I will never return to this place for over priced, nasty, crappy tasting sea food. Oh, Frog legs are extra, and crab legs will cost you dearly. So lets start off with I have been super excited to try this place from all the advertisement on Facebook!! When you enter the restaurant it definitely has a chill vibe, its a buffet served on paper plates at $18.00 per person and I believe $30.00 when they have all you can eat crab legs. So you pay at the cashier and they ask you if you want to tip then, which is wierd to me...not sure how the service is yet, but okay I chose 15% as its a buffet so should not be too much service involved. BTW service was great she was very personable and had I known I would have tipped more! Sorry I didnt bring any cash okay so onto the food, salad bar was well stocked and looked super fresh, then I go to the hot foods...as you can see in my video everything is fried and just kinda not exciting. The peel and eat shrimp is not deveined so if your like me you can just remove it yourself at your table. All of the breading is similar...you have cornmeal and another maybe panko, so it can get kind of muted with the flavors. So I said damn I paid 18 bucks for this im gonna get creative, lol. So I asked for fresh tortillas and they were more than happy to bring me 2, I put the fried fish nuggets on there and slapped on some coleslaw and it was very refreshing. Overall the fried food is okay, to be honest the salad bar was more impressive and they have baked potatoes you can really have fun with on the toppings. We always eat the catfish dinners and have received excellent tasting fried catfish with homemade fries and fried okra. The catfish has always been fresh and never greasy. Their salad bar is very fresh and has lots of good choices with three kinds of salad, relishes, beets, peel and eat shrimp and all the fixin's. The broccoli salad and coleslaw are light and not too heavy on the dressing. The peel and eat shrimp are large and have just enough seasoning to make them very tasty. I could make a meal of just that portion of the buffet. The catfish is done just right with plenty of meat, hush puppies are a little small and over-done but still pretty good and there are plenty of other choices of fried items such as french fries, clams and shrimp. Pros: Employees were nice. Cons: Everything else. Pretty much everything is fried and nothing is hot and crispy. Most of it was room temp. Or soggy as if it was sitting out for a while. Styrofoam plates, cups, plastic silverware. Expensive as hell. Catfish and seafood not very good quality. The creamed corn was extremely hard as if it was frozen and wasn't cooked enough. The mac and cheese was soggy, watery, and flavorless. Watched employees clean bathroom, walk out and ask if we wanted our drinks refilled and empty plates taken. Didn't wash their hands. Watched the hostess go to the restroom and come back out without washing her hands. Watched a bus boy sit on his phone the entire time instead of help out, when there was fish and trash sitting right next to him on a drain on the floor. When we walked out my dad almost puked in the bushes mostly because of what we ate, and only partly because of what we witnessed. Disgusting restaurant overall. The service is outstanding and the staff is, by far, the best in the restaurant business. We travel 3.5 hours at least once a month to eat here and have for a couple of years. I always get the all you can eat crab and my husband gets the buffet. First off their salad bar is always clean, always stocked and delicious!!! Def homemade ranch which is a huge plus. Their catfish batter is always great and they have really good big clam strips. Their Mac and cheese is so creamy and def not like fast food Mac and cheese. Now the crab. They usually bring it out very fast and hot and fresh. A few times they were kind of dinky that's why I took off a star. It wasn't very seasoned either BUT this last time we went... literally the crab legs were so big. I was in crab leg heaven. They were so hot, so seasoned, and big huge piece of meat were coming out in one strip. It was perfection. This makes me not mind paying $34 a plate. Some people think that's expensive but for all you can eat crab, shrimp cocktail, and unlimited sides and did I mention homemade vanilla ice cream and pies?! Hidden in Yukon,not a long drive from where I live. When you walk in you expect to have a fine dining feel,but you don't,it's a family style buffet with a bit of "Oklahoma" thrown in! I hadn't been to Catfish Cove in a long time and had never been to the one in Yukon. There was no whole catfish. They only had small pieces of fried, poached and cajun catfish nuggets. They did have fried and peel and eat shrimp that wasn't too bad but nothing special either. Their coleslaw would have been good except it was too dry. The broccoli salad was good but was swimming in dressing. The best thing about the entire meal was the homemade ice cream and blueberry cobbler. Hostess was awesome....Our waitress was infatuated with herself. She spent way to much time discussing her body building regiment verses actually working. I ended up getting our own drinks plus having to ask the hostess for service. Which she was happy to help. Literally our waitress would walk past us oblivious to service. I wanted to make the best of our visit considering the amount we paid for the privilege. Finally just deciding to serve ourselves. The crab legs lacked seasoning. But made up for it in size. All in all the food was ok at best. I did enjoy the shrimp. It was just extremely greasy. But the flavor was decent other then the grease. We were told the rolls were homemade. Didn't appear that they were. And they were awful. I tried the bread pudding. It was dry and lacked taste. The desert bar was very poor in appearance and taste. It did have homemade ice cream. But I didn't try it. It would not recommend this restaurant to my friends or family. I wouldn't want them to pay that amount of money for piss poor service & mediocre food. Tried a few things. Peel and eat shrimp was leather. Half of them were clean and de-veined and other half was still full of grit. If you like deep fried, then this place will do it for you. This is a really good catfish buffet. The people are always friendly and courteous. Everything on the salad bar is homemade and delicious. The fish and shrimp are always fresh and never overdone. The fish fillets are not as big as they used to be, but the flavor and taste has not changed. I recommend this place if you like some homemade grub.
