I had Chicken on angel pasta and husband had beans n rice with sausages. Husband's was just ok. My Chicken was not cooked very well. More chewy, tuff so after a couple bites it was pushed aside. The service was fabulous and the employees super friendly. I ordered the crawfish trio. The fried tails and cocktail sauce was really good. The gumbo was good. The étouffée was a really light flavorless roux and very little roux at all. And only the gumbo was temperature hot. My husband got the taste of New Orleans. Only difference between our dishes were he got red beans and rice instead of fried crawfish tails. Red beans and rice also pretty flavorless. We used a lot of hot sauce. The cafe has really good food. The rice is a bit plain and the service always takes a long time. Even when I have placed a Togo order and drove all the way there I have been stuck waiting. Service also is sometimes helpful and welcoming and others very unfriendly. read more

Cajun food is known for amazing flavors. Staff was fine, not sure what happened to the flavors.

The food was so good! I got a house salad with the blackened chicken pasta for lunch and they have this special dressing called swamp sauce that can't be topped! The service was great, even met the owners and really made the establishment more of a welcoming atmosphere, and I loved the cute little decorations all around the restaurant. While out cruising Historic Route 66, aka "the Mother Road," the wife and I decided to have some lunch. My wife and I are former Yukon residents, so she had a hankering for her previous favorite spot. So The Big Easy it is. Upon walking in we were greeted by a nice young lady, who told us to find a seat anywhere. So, that we did. Walking to our tables, we noticed the nice New Orleans decor on the wall to set the mood. Some nice Cajun like music played and we picked our seats. The restaurant had a lot of patrons, so this place had to be good. After a short wait, the nice young lady who told us to grab a seat returned and took our drink order and we perused the menu. As she walked off, the radio switched to "Private Eyes," and we got to enjoy some Hall & Oates. Nothing says Cajun like Hall & Oates! I got a chuckle, and kept browsing the menu. After browsing the menu, it all looked very delicious. My wife and I insisted that I go for the red beans and rice, so that is just what I ordered. Red beans and rice with onions and bell peppers, with a kielbasa blackened type sausage all resting on a bed of rice. Sweet corn also is mixed in. A disclaimer - I cannot say I've really had genuine Cajun food in the past. I'm also not one for the exotic taste of alligator and crawfish, so I steered away from all of that. On my next visit I do plan on venturing out and trying something out of my comfort zone. But for now, I'll stick with the wife's recommendation. For my buddy Jeaux D, if you are reading this, I hope we can still be friends after my Cajun food comments. In good time, the wife and I both received our dishes and began to enjoy them. Our drinks stayed full the whole time while we waited and the staff were very friendly. The sausage was delicious and well seasoned, the rice was great, the beans and corn were delicious. My wife was very satisfied, and stopped short of licking her plate clean. No complaints at all with our food. I recommend this place if your travels being you to beautiful Yukon, Oklahoma. My craving for New Orleans food was satisfied! I ordered the shrimp po boy and blackened catfish with crawfish on top. The only area I felt improvement was needed was the friendliness of service. Amazing cocktails, amazing hush puppies (cleverly named 'Shut Up Dogs), amazing entrees, and amazing service! I had the Blackened Pork Chops and was in complete bliss with each bite. The savory blackened seasoning and sauce were truly the stars of the dish! They had so much flavor packed in that I found myself tempted to lick the plate clean. Ok... so the portion size is just about right and the food isn't too shabby. I would say i've had a little bit better.. but this little stop is worth a visit.. I wish i would have had the steak though, b/c I tried a piece of the kiddos steak and it was really pretty darn good! I do hate to give the one piece of criticism... a little more salt/pepper and flavor would have made it go over the top. We ordered the Ribeye New Orleans: Ribeye on pasta then smothered in a cream sauce of shrimp, crabmeat, crawfish, bacon, onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. So good. My one mistake was ordering the steak medium well - don't do what I did. My wife likes it that way but she had wished she ordered it medium as well. The food was great though. Perfectly creamy and spiced. I don't think I've ever eaten steak with pasta but with the addition of seafood... I was pleasantly surprised. This was enough for my wife and I to share but I could see one person being able to eat it though. Came with a side of corn. We also ordered the Seafood Pasta: Good portion. Different cream sauce than the New Orleans. Still really good. Service was good. We got there 45 mins before they closed but called ahead and they were really kind and accommodating saying there's plenty of time to make the steak and not to worry... just come on in! I only have one thing to say... NASTY!!!!! My husband went by this restaurant in person to order : Seafood Pasta. We live in Yukon so we are not that far from the restaurant. He also ordered me Red Beans and Rice. The pasta noodles was overcooked and were cut into small pieces. The only seafood in the dish was crawfish. The whole dish lacked ANY FLAVOR.. I took 2 bites and threw the rest in the trash. I couldn't even eat the 1 slice of bread that comes with the meal. It was old and cold...!!! Next I moved onto the Red Beans and Rice. It had no flavor at all. It got tossed into the trash also. We used to get good food here but something has changed. If you want great Cajun food go to Pearls Restaurant. Their Red Beans and Rice is the "bomb". We will not order anymore food from this place. read more

The prospect of another burger was just about enough to make me commit seppuku so we just had to find something different. I definitely wasn't expecting to find a Cajun food place in the middle of Oklahoma, and certainly not a decent one but The Big Easy came to the rescue and just knocked my socks off! The blackened catfish had a really good flavor, and the blackened chicken and pasta was just too good to be believed. They don't just throw some salt and pepper on their dishes and call them seasoned. They actually Season their food with wonderful spices that tantalize the taste buds and cook their dishes to perfection. I just ate so much, and my only regret is that this place is 965 miles from my house so it's unlikely I will get back here in the near future. read more

Had our Valentine's lunch here; walked in around 12:45 and were seated nearly immediately. Wasn't too busy. We were given our menus and served our drinks promptly. The majority of their lunch items consist of shrimp, crawfish, crab, and catfish, although there are a couple chicken items. I'm not big on seafood (I was hoping they had some salmon, but I guess salmon isn't "cajun"!) so I ordered the blackened chicken over angel hair pasta; my husband ordered the red beans & rice with sausage. We both enjoyed our meals and the service was good. Enjoyed the Louisiana-style music in the background! Our server asked us if we'd like dessert; they serve just 2 dessert items. We chose the apple tart with vanilla ice cream topped with caramel sauce. YUM. Even my diabetic husband couldn't resist a few bites! We got takeout from here yesterday and it was great! The phones were really busy but as soon as we got through the line, their service was really fast. We ordered the crawfish étouffée and the Louisiana crab dip. The etouffee was great! Lots of crawfish pieces, the rice was buttery and delicious, and the corn added a nice texture. The crab dip was also really good, except it was too salty for my own personal liking. My husband loved it though. We'll definitely be trying out more dishes from here soon! read more

I've eaten here for years. The food is ALWAYS delicious and a great staff. They make me feel welcomed every time I visit.

So walking up to the place it's nothing to special but what comes out of that kitchen sure is. The food not only came out fast but they had huge portions of some of the best Cajun food outside Louisiana. I had the spicy shrimp pasta and even here in OK they some how managed to get fresh shrimp. It was the perfect amount of spiciness to the pasta and so filling. My husband had the Filet New Orleans. Before anything else...when you go make sure you wear stretchy pants. Cheese Sticks...I don't know what kind of cheese it was but it wasn't mozzarella. It was a big hunk of creamy goodness. Shut Up Dogs...hush puppies that are not overwhelmed with onion like more are. Pretty tasty Blackened Trio...shrimp, fish, and chicken. The little bit the hubs allowed me to taste was delicious! Not too spicy but enough. And you get it kicked up if you want. I got the something else trio that crawfish etouffee, red beans and rice, and seafood gumbo. AKA spicy, more spice, and the most spice. Momma got the creole chicken, which I thought was pretty good but mild. Grand momma got the blacken pork chops without the blackened. She got two chops and immediately asked for a to go box. It was a tad bit tough though. Every dish comes with corn and for good reason. I'm typically not a fan of restaurant kernel corn but this was gooood. The bread pudding...if you have room left then definitely get the bread pudding. No raisins! I can't stand chewy wannabe chocolate chips! The bourbon sauce was yummy and not overly sweet. A coworker of mine took us here after we were on the subject of food. Anyway, we were going to order the Louisiana crab dip for the table, but they didn't have it. So we went with the fried oysters. We all love it, mainly the batter. It was very fresh and crispy. I think it had more batter than oysters, but still, it was tasty. For the entrée, I had the ribeye royale. The portion is huge and was worth the value. My ribeye was tender and flavorful. My pet peeves are salty food if you read my reviews, but the meat itself needed salt for once. For the sides, the corn tasted similar to canned corns, and if they could've toasted the slice of bread, that would've been nice. I was not too fond of the rice due to the consistency and taste of it. Lastly, the service was sweet, so no complaints here. So far, I haven't had good Cajun in Oklahoma, but the overall meal from here wasn't terrible. Compared to my friends, I'm generous with the ratings, since they had a different experience with their meal than mine. On a trip to NOLA last year, I was wishing that a great New Orleans style restaurant was around me when I suddenly remembered this place! This is such a low-key place that everyone should know about! The big easy used to be a great restaurant until they got a new manager. She left a 17 dollar meal out of our order and then called us liars when we called and asked to come get what she left out. I would advise any other seafood fans to take their business to Ragin Cajun on mustang road. Their service and hospitality is wonderful.
