Very disappointed. Ordered on line and picked up within a reasonable time frame. When I got home I discovered that one of the items I ordered had not been included in my order. I emailed the restaurant and asked that I my credit card be credited with the amount that had been deducted for the food item I did not received. I got no response, so I emailed the restaurant a second time with the same request. Again, I got no response from the restaurant. It is unfortunate that we try to spend our money locally and we get this kind of customer service. The food was not anything to brag about either. read more

This place reminds me of the movie "Grumpy Old Men". Fun, kitschy signs abound. As does good food. Kid and I both had all you can eat catfish and popcorn shrimp. The catfish had a thin, crisp coating and was delicious. The breading on the shrimp was quite as good. Entrees come with unlimited fixins, but I didn't even try the coleslaw or beans. The rolled hush puppies were tasty and I appreciated being greeted by a bowl of them when our server first came to the table. He said the most fish filets he'd seen anyone eat was 16. I had 12 and 2 servings of popcorn shrimp. Next time, forget the shrimp and focus on the fish only. read more

First time taking my boy with me. He's 4 years old and loved the mac n cheese. Great, laid back place. Very relaxing. Catfish was awesome. Shrimp was small but good too. Best family friendly place ever. Nice quiet and full of color. Lots of momentos on walls from all eras. Very friendly staff as well. Had a great time. Usually with four kids it's hard and they made it very personable and heart warming. Just so happens kids eat free tonight so worked out even better. They do what is necessary and no further. Everything here is routine and consistent. They have no need to overcook their seafood because its quality. The waitstaff seems to be patiently vetted and hired as they all seem to be of sound mental health. The decor is a perfect reflection of the soul of the area: Classic Southern Americana. We always enjoy eating at the Parlour in Georgetown. You get a lot of food for the price. The only food item that needs some improvement are the beans--they have too much water added to them. We visit or get takeout from CP every couple of months, and think that they do a good job with their fish and sides in that price range. However, the blackberry cobbler, which I do not normally order, was not worth the price, and requires a major makeover of the recipe in the kitchen. There was more filling than berries, and that plus the crust was disappointing ----too bland, not to be redeemed by vanilla ice cream. Just guessing that the peach cobbler offers the same experience. I love this place! Let me tell you- the food is fried and yummy! You get family style all you can eat coleslaw, beans, & my FAVORITE (real reason I come here) the HUSHPUPPIES!!! Jalapeno and regular dipping sauce. Salad bar comes with most meals (it is pretty much lettuce, cheese, croutons, and dressings). Cost is average around $10- 12. Yummy! read more

First off I know everyone has a bad day but dang, we did a call in order got there and the order was wrong. But they change it and made it right that a point to them, then their CC machine was messed up and we had to leave and go find an ATM to get cash and go back and pay. By the time it got home most of it was cold the shrimp were rubbery and the catfish was way over cooked and the shrimp cocktail was five baby shrimp. I love this place! The Christmas Story corner is my favorite place to sit...so much ambience. The decor alone brings a smile to my face! The food is always good. Hushpuppies are addictive. Yum! My husband and I have enjoyed fresh, perfectly cooked catfish and shrimp for years. My husband's family knew Mrs. Kerbow when they lived in Wimberly. Catfish Parlour continues to provide their bottomless fabulous unique hush puppies as soon as your seated at no charge. Warning: after you eat their hush puppies, you will not like other restaurants hush puppies EVER. In the past, the catfish dinners came with unlimited family style pinto beans, coleslaw, breaded french fries, and Caesar Salad. Now they offer 2 sides with your meal which are brought to you in individual serving size bowls along with a few french fries and unlimited Caesar Salad bar which includes very fresh lettuce, croutons, tomatoes, shredded parmesan cheese with your choice of dressing . The quality and freshness of the food remains excellent but 2 of my 3 pieces of catfish were much smaller than past orders. They were far from a fillet; more like large nuggets. I could not believe I was served such small peices of catfish. Now, after you are served, the only items refilled are your tea, water, salad, hush puppies, condiments(tartar sauce ect) and if you chose the unlimited catfish, the waitress brings you more catfish. The change of no free boxes for your leftover food is new.The menu states if you request to take your leftovers with you, you will be CHARGED AGAIN!! I understand no to go boxes if you order the "all you can eat" catfish, but if I do not finish my 3 pieces of catfish or jumbo shrimp, per the menu, I have to pay again?? Also, the prices have gone up. They are losing their uniqueness and are becoming a typical Austin area expensive restuarant. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!! On the way down south, we usually stop to eat here. Hell, we've drove here to eat and came right back before. The fried catfish is good here. It's always fresh and tasty. They have a salad bar or "fixins" as they call it that comes with your meal. The last time we came I got the grilled catfish and it was great. Always enjoyed my meals here. Good bargain! Most appetizers and entrees are $1-3 below prices for the same dishes elsewhere. Portions are reasonable or large, depending on the dish. Shiner Bock is $2.50 per smallish mug. Service was very accomodating and attentive. Ambience is good. No wonder the new place is always packed! A half-order of thick onion rings was a good sample. The price was about $2.50 (!!). A considerable amount of onion within the batter. Not dried out, or fried to a crisp. Just right, altho' the slightest bit greasy. When was the last time you got a half order of onion rings anywhere, much less for $2.50?! I've paid as much as $6.99 for a full order. The fried oyster appetizer came w/regular and spicy, by request. Both were excellent. The cornmeal dusting is light. The oysters tended to be small, but good flavor, and not overcooked. The great Jalapeno tartar sauce is a great touch for plain fried-anything. We paid extra for grilled and blackened catfish on a salad. (Fried stuff is always cheaper, alas.) The blackening did NOT overpower the delicate fish. Bravo! The plain grilled was good too. Not overocooked, the cornmeal dusting delicate--not crisp, or overpowering. Salad fixings were varied--not just iceberg. The light ranch dressing was subtle as well as low-cal. The fried hushpuppies got good reviews from a fried-food-averse friend. They were unusually tasty. Again, the two types of tartar sauce was a welcome touch, especially the Jalapeno version. There are all-you-can -eat specials daily, but almost exclusively fried versions of seafood. Grilled and sauteed cost more. Boo! Check the menu. Quite a selection available. Nice decor: old time this 'n' that. Sophisticated serving system tho'. Be warned: they will not seat you until all members of the party are present, and waits can be long. You can meet people and kibbitiz, however. This restaurant is a very Good Value. read more

I tried the gluten free menu and had fried catfish for the first time in over 8 years. YUMMY!! The hush puppies and slaw were delicious. The waitstaff asked if I had celiac disease or if it was "just a diet" which at first irritated me because I am gluten intolerant and get very ill for days when I accidentally ingest gluten. We have enjoyed the N. Austin location for years. We were delighted when one opened in G'Town, somewhat closer to us. We are very disappointed that they feel the need to charge 1.95 for a cesaer salad that has ALWAYS be complementary to the customers at the N. Austin location. We are basically 1/2 way between the two restaurants..so we will continue going to the N. Austin location. read more

We went there on a Wednesday night, the service was good. My husband had the catfish and he typically loves fried catfish. It was supposed to be Cajun but had no flavor. She offered to have the Owner remove one meal from the bill and did. When we paid the owner acted a little irritated and instead of apologizing tells me "hang in there better luck next time". We opted for a mix of regular and spicy catfish. The regular was bland, the spicy too dark, with a subtle but creeping heat that didn't seem to complement the fish. Tge hush puppies were burnt and the prices were very high for what they are. BUT the service was awesome, and it is one of the few places that serve decent kids stuff. I got the catfish and it was decent, parts of it were overdone, but decent. Its price was ridiculous though. Kids prices were ok. My wife got the shrimp and the price was something like 2.30 a piece, and they weren't really that jumbo. Seems high since it is not even a fresh seafood place. We enjoy the catfish parlour for casual dining on a regular basis. The customer greeting & offer of a drink at the door is the first impression you get which is welcoming & ensures your experience is kicked off right. The food is consistent & portions are generous. I am not a "catfish person" so I typically order the spicy gulf shrimp. My husband typically gets the catfish & fried oysters and never has a complaint. Above the food - the service is always top notch. There are several other "upscale" places in Georgetown that we've left after being seated & waiting 10 mins with no request for a drink order. The team has the coverage of tables & solid servers that know how to keep customers content (drink refills, taking orders, refills of hush puppies etc). Highly recommend the CP for large dinner groups - where seating has never been a problem. read more

As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by a super friendly older gentleman who explained how it all works. The guys behind the counter and the waitress were equally as friendly. We all enjoyed the food (kids included). My husband is not a fan of catfish, and ordered the chicken fried steak instead. He said it was really good. The beans are great.
