Our favorite new restaurant on the shore! I'd seen a great review of this spot on social media and it lived up to the hype. It seems hard to get a reservation here, though we were able to snag a 9pm slot on a Saturday about a week in advance. They accept reservations on Resy. To start, we tried the crispy rock shrimp, kung pao bacon (more like pork belly) and Caesar salad. All three were good. Unfortunately they were out of the tuna cannolis when we went (downside of a 9pm reservation). For entrees, we had the lobster rigatoni and the wagyu bolognese with burrata. The bolognese was unique and delicious! While a 9pm reservation isn't ideal, food came out quickly. Our server was attentive, friendly, and happy to make recommendations on the menu. Overpriced. In a small house first floor in the middle of a neighborhood. No silverware at the table. Bread was eh, flatbread special was burnt, chicken scarpello we all had it at our table, and it was so spicy and it was like a chicken finger breading. Our first time here on a busy Friday night. The food was excellent! I had the Short Rib special. The meat was unbelievably tender and the flavor was outstanding! My friends all had the swordfish and loved it! We ordered the Brussels sprouts which were cooked perfectly and easily fed everyone. Our deserts were sinful and worth the calories! Excellent new restaurant in Point Pleasant , New Jersey. Best steaks (most on the specials menu), very fresh fish crudo, fresh made pasta. We were lucky to get this last minute table, it's a hard reservation (on Resy for reservations). Service was excellent by our server , Nicole. This is a BYOB. They do have the usual soft drinks etc. I was impressed that the have Mountain Valley Spring water which is the only bottled water I drink and hard to find. The food was unbelievable good, even for my husband who had the Steak. I had the pasta which was excellent and rich. My tuna Crudo was so fresh and paired with amazing fresh olives & olive oil. My husband had the Kung Poa Bacon which he devoured. We also enjoyed the grilled Asparagus. Do no walk but run to your Resy App and put your self on the wait list , that's how we got in last night! Went for dinner this evening as a party of seven, service was great and the food was outstanding! Three of us ordered the Pork Chop and it was spectacular; I ordered the Wagyu Bolognese and it didn't disappoint! Katie had the Cacio Pepe and it looked amazing. We had the meatball appetizer, bacon appetizer, beet salad, artichoke appetizer and burrata, they were all outstanding. Nicole our server was attentive and made sure we had a great time. We ordered a few flourless chocolate cakes and the key lime pie with graham cracker crumble for the table and no complaints could be heard. Although the manager tries hard it's time to close. We gave this place a lot of tries we assumed it needed time to work out the kinks. The kinks have won. The menu is limited and expensive. The physical plant is poor. Perhaps those are not the real issue - the meals bear little resemblance to the menu. It seems each cook does what strikes his or her fancy based on what they have available - but not skillfully. On our most recent visit when our food arrived not one meal had the listed ingredients. The wait staff was nice but oblivious. The meals varied between poor and inedible. I like the folks who tried to run this place but it needs to close. read more

It was a very weird experience. We had a reservation for 4 people. We checked in and saw there was one awful table for 4 next to the door and kind of backing up to the lobby/entranceway. We were told our table wasn't ready and sat down to wait. We were happy that we weren't getting that bad table by the door. We wait 15 minutes and what happens - they sit us at the crappy table. No worries. We'll make the best of it. We have 2 bottles of wine to open for 4 of us. The server comes over and opens the bottles and informs us that they are out of wine glasses since everyone brought wine that night! Will it be okay to use water glasses? WHAT? So delicious. We went the first month they opened and loved every bite. We went again today when our Easter plans fell through when some family members got sick and it was incredible. They were SO sweet with our toddler and overall, wonderful service. Left very full and with leftovers we can't wait to eat. Our first time at CFT (catherines farm to table), as their prices are on the high side. Restaurant week the perfect time to give it a try. Three in our party and all enjoyed our meal. Mussels fra Diavolo were cooked nicely with a bit of a spicy sauce. Caesar Salad was not over dresses but someone went a little crazy with the black cracked pepper, lastly the crispy artichoke were done well with a spicy sauce at the bottom that didn't overwhelm. Bread and seasoned butter was shared by the table. Main courses were delicious. Two diners order the braised short ribs with veggies. The meat fell apart, very tender. Veggies nicely done. The sauce a wine reduction was still quite heavy on wine flavor which was a bit strong. The pork chop was delicious. Cooked perfect with a lot of flavor. The disappointment was the whipped sweet potato , it was like a glaze on the plate--almost transparent. There could have been a bit more as it went well with the pork and cabbage. Desserts did not disappoint. Pumpkin cheesecake was nice, creamy with a slight pumpkin flavor. Flourless chocolate cake was fudge like but light at the same time , it could have used just a little whipped cream to round it out. Best part for my husband it is a BYOB. Service: Our waitress was attentive, but not in your face. Drinks were refilled without being asked to. She was busy as the place was packed. Courses came in a timely fashion, there was time to breath between them which I like. Ambiance: Very simple decor, which is fine as you not there to check out the decorating, your there to enjoy a meal. The noise level, VERY LOUD! It was a times difficult to hear my table mates talking. One negative was when our check arrived. They add a 5% credit card user fee. We were not asked if we would be paying by credit it was just added to the bill. We brought a couple bottles of wine and the waitress brought out the worst wine glasses I have ever seen. Thick, clunky and just awful. Now to the food, the burrata was good but served with one very small crostini...odd, when asked for a couple more she brought the regular cold table bread, the other appetizers were good but not memorable. Mains were just ok. Two of us got pasta and it was good but not great. My friend who go the halibut was another story. Very over cooked and dry. This is one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Made a reservation for the patio, but when we arrive we're told was going to be a 25 to 35 minute wait which was really not acceptable. However, we accepted our fate and went inside peace with the fact that there wasn't room for us to sit on the patio outside unless we're willing to wait probably much longer than 25 minutes at any rate we ordered our food very quickly and 35 minutes later even our salad didn't come out after the waitress kept telling us your salad will be right out. The Matt did nothing to accommodate us when I told him I think we're going to leave. He just shrugged your shoulders. I offered to pay for the coke he said oh don't worry about that didn't try to comp us. Didn't try to go into the kitchen to find out what was going on. It was outrageous. I instructed the person who brought them out to return them the kitchen and we would advise when to fire the entree. When we did receive one of the entrees the strip steak was tough as shoe leather. This was supposed be a birthday celebration for our daughter in law. This was the second time I had the same quick service. My first dinner experience it was our 40th wedding anniversary the waitress rushed the food out and we were out of there in 45 minutes. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. We especially appreciated not feeling rushed through any aspect of our meal. So, that's what my stars are based on. However, we were expecting much more of our food based on the price. They are not very accommodating of allergies and even simple dietary modifications like a request for going light on salt. My entree was so heavily salted it really took away from the high quality of the seafood I had ordered. I had an allergy to one element (eggplant) of the original dish and was told they could remove it but could not substitute another vegetable. Instead I was 'offered' a $13 side. So my meal was $65 when all was said and done. My partner's dish was drowning in oil and he could not get through his meal. He ate a little because he was so hungry and requested some extra bread which sadly was stale. In hindsight we both should have sent our meals back but we didn't want to bring down the celebratory mood of the holiday. He did mention it when our server cleared his plate and saw most of the meal still remaining. They simply said, "oh, I haven't heard that before." I get the sense that the staff is not empowered to do anything in the face of customer dissatisfaction which is sad. Thankfully our other family member was very happy with their meal so we let it go. But considering the prices, I expected a lot more and really wanted to love this place. I was also surprised that for a small, high end, farm to table restaurant, they don't emphasize that aspect. When I think of true farm to table, I think of the ingredients themselves being the true stars vs being hidden by heavy salt and sauces and for the restaurant to offer where their ingredients are sourced or what local purveyors they support. I'm always rooting for new, independent establishments and small businesses to do well at the Jersey Shore but I won't be back anytime soon. It was too expensive given our experience. Little hard to see our appetizers but the light came for entree. All the food was excellent (salad special, scallops, and lobster pasta) with the exception of the pork belly- serving was small for $20 and the pieces were either completely dry or straight fat. This byob is a new jewel to Pt Pleasant and the Jersey Shore restaurant scene. The food is a level above anything I've ever had down here. Actually it was better than any dinner I had in the Hamptons last month too. The food quality, design, freshness and creativity were outstanding. Our apps were the fritto misto and tuna crudo with yellow watermelon. Both were excellent and I can't express how fresh the tuna was. The fried seafood in the fritto misto was fried perfectly and the salt of the ocean burst with every bite. It didn't even need the aioli sauce it came with. Our pasta dishes were the rigatoni in crab sauce and lobster pappardelle and both were terrific. Our server was energetic and very attentive and a pleasure to have. My only regret in posting this review is that we cause Catherine's to get more crowded and we wouldn't be able to get reservations because once word gets out it's going to get full real fast lol.
