Great breakfast place. Get the T Town burrito. For dinner or lunch, tacos are pretty good, guac is mid. This location on S Lewis does not have Margs or beer even though it's on the building and on their Yelp pictures. Also, you'll leave smelling like smoke from the kitchen. read more

This is my second visit to a Catrina Fresh Mex location. It was my first visit to a location in Jenks that pushed me to go back to try them again because the first visit was so enjoyable. On this visit I ordered the Birria Tacos with rice and beans. Plus added a side of guacamole and chips. The great thing about Catrina's is the fresh salsa bar that has mild tomatillo, medium and hot salsas, cilantro and onions, plus veggie relish. All of which is super fresh and tasty! The veggie relish is my fav at on the salsa bar!! Service was quick, hot and correct. I wouldn't say that Catrina's is fast food but as quick as they get your order to you, one could consider it fast food. It's rare these days when it comes to fast food to get what you ordered correctly and in this case super good!! The birria tacos were just slightly crispy on the outside with marinated meat, onions, cilantro and melted cheese inside. The birria broth had bold flavors and was great to dip your tacos in. The rice and beans were not overcooked, both rather moist and just right mix of spice and flavor. The fresh guacamole was excellent and really stood out. Definitely one of my new favorites places to order guac. The inside of some of these locations are small but with the type of quick service patrons receive there are usually plenty of places to sit and enjoy your meal. This location also had outdoor seating which will be nice on warm, sunny days. Overall Catrina's is a WAY better choice over many of the fast food chain Mexican restaurants and honestly rival some well established restaurants in town. GO CHECK THEM OUT! So I today I placed an order for delivery because didn't want to show up at the restaurant and get people sick. In the notes for the order numerous times requested extra salsas since we ordered 4 breakfast burritos. Order was delivered with just 2 small things of salsa total for 4 burritos. Called and spoke to a male who asked if it was inconvenient for me to come get the salsas that were not added. I got 3 tacos. 2 were al pastor & the other was chicken. I ordered a side of rice as well along with their hot salsa (hottest level). Everything I just mentioned was incredible. Al Pastor was PERFECT! The tortillas are STUFFED with the meat you choose. It's even better with lime, you can't go wrong with or without the salsa. The chicken was just as good. Nice & smoky, on the charred side with flavor. The rice is something that made everything complete. The lady who took my order was nice over the phone & when I came to pick up the food. There are only two reasons I feel compelled to write a review...I've either had a really good or really poor experience. My experience at Catrina on Lewis today was overall really great. First of all the place was clean and the employees seemed intent on doing a good job. The girl that took my order had a smile on her face and even though it was busy she didn't seem fazed. I saw that they now serve Birria tacos so I decided to try them and they exceeded my expectations. There are a lot of posers out there selling half ass concocted birria out there...Catrina is doing it up right! (at least this location) The outer shell was a nice crisp orange color just like it should be and the tacos were stuffed full of delicious birria meat and cheese with cilantro (no onions for me). The consume was also very good though it could have been a little more full. I appreciate the meat in the tacos was all good edible product with no hint of fat which some others places have been very guilty of trying to feed me straight up fat on my tacos (see my previous review of Rodrigo's Taco Shop...Beto's and Dona Gloria have also served me excessive fat). Let's face it...consistency is an issue at most establishments these days. I just hope next time I visit Catrina on Lewis that it is just as good as it was today. I feel confident it will be. I was disappointed. After reading all the rave reviews, I expected more. Sometimes when our expectations are too high, we can be disappointed by even good restaurants. This is a self service restaurant. If you pay with a credit card, you will see that they expect you to tip the same amount you would at a full service restaurant. The day I feel obligated to tip 20% at a fast food or self service restaurant will be the very last day I patronize such an establishment. I don't mind ordering from the counter, eating on paper plates, and busting my own table, but I'm not going to pay for what I do myself. The people who ate at the table next to us did not do a good job of busting their own table. We looked at food scraps on that table for the twenty minutes it took to get our food and while we dined. We didn't try a burrito because they are nearly $10. For the same price, we can get an entire burrito dinner at a full service restaurant. It might be that Calaca Fresh burritos are far better than any other burritos in T Town. I will try one soon to see if they are better, but for our first time to Calaca Fresh, we decided to start with the street tacos. We each got 2 street tacos, 2 beers, and shared guacamole. The street tacos were delicious and priced fairly. We both preferred the pastor because we liked the spice. The beer was $2:50, which is definitely a fair price. We got a generous portion of guacamole and it came with a bag of chips. The price was fair, but the guacamole looked and tasted like already prepared guacamole from grocery stores. Ok, very salty and sloppy but tasty tacos, decent plastic cup margaritas, and ok picnic table outdoor seating. When we were there, they were out of at least two taco varieties and I had to be consulted twice to get a full order of 3 tacos. Bf had the quesadilla - he loved it. Margaritas were good for plastic cup variety but on the sweet side of commercial sweet and sour margarita mix. My order came out wrong and when I asked about it, they were going to charge me extra, mid meal for something I know I ordered, so blew it off. Definitely not too concerned about customer service. We have been seeking good street tacos in South Tulsa for quite sometime and we are so glad to report to you that we have found it! With great street access, ample parking space, clean indoor and outdoor seating and fresh tacos and burritos, Calaca Fresh Mex is the place to be. Lengua (tongue) and Cabeza (cheek) tacos are well seasoned, hot and fresh. The tripas tacos are interesting but it's a little on the chewy side. The tortillas are good. We ordered a pair of draft Modelo (cold and fresh) to pair with the food which was perfect. The staffs were very nice and courteous but they have so many DoorDash and to-go orders that it took about 20 minutes for us to get our food though. All in all, we really like this place and we can't wait to go back for another. read more

We've only tried the location at 31st & Sheridan. It was dirty. The surfaces were sticky. It appeared nothing had been done to renovate the old Taco Bueno. There were some spices floating in the air that caused my wife and me to be choked up. They have no free water; so, we had to buy a bottle of water to wash away whatever was choking us. Then, the meal arrived. The burrito was assembled in segments such that we had to eat through the beans to get to the meat. Is it really so difficult to blend the ingredients so they can be enjoyed all through the meal? On top of other disappointments, the staff we indifferent and disinterested in our business. We shan't be back - ever. There are too many great Mexican choices to choose from to tolerate bad Mexican food more than once. read more

Ordered to go, i work 2 minutes from the restaurant, when i got to work my birria tacos were mush the tortillas just fell apart, i asked for cilantro on the side and they didnt give it to me. The birria tacos lacked flavor as well. The chips were good, some chips had no salt while others i had to spit out because they were so salty. The queso was barely heated, and had lots of clumps where it was cold then reheated. They might be okay to eat inside but with the blaring music and staff that talk amongst themselves more than the customers i dont think ill give that a try. read more

Today after waiting for 20 mins for our food in the drive thru this older man comes to the window DEMANDING we move. He does not check for our food even though my husband tells him we've been waiting. We move to the parked waiting area.
