Not happy at all. I ordered my food to go. Then I ordered an extra tortilla after. It took 45 mins to get my food. Then they forgot the tortilla I ordered and I even asked them if they put it in the bag. I hate getting home and not having my order right. We got the Mar y Tierra burrito, 4 tacos, and pineapple agua fresca. The burrito was DELICIOUS! A wonderful mix of rice, carne asada, shrimp, veggies and guacamole that all melded really well together in a grilled tortilla. It was a cohesive, delicious experience. The tacos were fine but nothing to write home about. The best one was the al pastor that came with grilled pineapple. Speaking of pineapple, the pineapple agua fresca had great flavor and was not too sweet. Food here is quick, it only took a couple minutes to come out. The art on the walls is fun. As far as COVID precautions, everyone in the kitchen was wearing a mask, but the guy at the register wasn't when we were there. No hand sanitizer either. We tried Calaca's for the first time and really enjoyed it. I had the chicken burrito and it was very good, though it had a little too much rice and not enough chicken. The rice by the way is very good. My husband had the Calaca fries with steak. They were good but would have been much better with fresh cut fries vs the frozen battered fries. We ordered chips and guacamole, which was very fresh but needed some seasoning. The restaurant is cute and very clean. The menu prices are fair especially for the amount of food you receive and everything is a la carte. The staff was friendly and super helpful. I look forward to going back and trying more of their menu items. read more

I joined a friend for lunch on a Monday at 11:30am. Ordered at counter and had a seat in the well decorated dining room. I ordered the steak torta and the Calaca fries. My friend ordered the carne burrito. Food was amazing! A very good portion for lunch. The Calaca fries are basically nacho fries. A friendly staff and very clean place. Picked up a chile verde pork burrito here this morning and I was not disappointed! Would happily return for another. Ok, so I have lived in San Diego, South Texas, and Colorado. I feel that I have tried a lot of breakfast burritos. I'll break down the Calaca Breakfast Burrito: (1) I ordered this on DoorDash for breakfast. Food arrived nice and hot. (2) Tortilla is flaky and thin....like the ones from the tortillarilla on 21st. Good because I really don't want to fill up on tortillas. (3) REAL cracked eggs. I get so frustrated when restaurants use pre-mixed eggs from a carton. Also had bacon pieces that tasted firm, not floppy & undercooked. (4) potatoes were good, but I would have loved to have freshly sliced & cooked potatoes. These tasted pre-made and soft. (5) two people (or one big dude) could eat this. It's a full-size tortilla filled with good stuff. (6) salsa could use some work. Recommend the owner go to Thee Tequillas on Brookside & try their fresh salsa. You could kill it if you served this burrito with fresh salsa. Final Comment....top 2 breakfast burritos I've had in Tulsa so far. I'll definitely order this again. read more

We were excited to see this restaurant come to South Tulsa but we weren't sure if the food could live up to the new, fresh cool look...it does! The food was fresh, hot and full of flavor. The Calaca fries are the Mexican response to Kimchi Fries...or the other way around. Either way, delicious! The service is great and the restaurant feels very clean. Placed a order via door dash, I ordered the calaca fries and a California burrito. The calaca fries were so dry, they put in a to go box fries. When I open the box is was pure potato and hardly any meat. Which is disappointing because I was looking forward to some meaty fries. Worse part was they didn't put any sour cream that comes with the fries or cheese and the guacamole was a tiny scoop that wasn't even a spoonful. The California burrito was dry as well and lacked meat. Mostly more fries and rice. I was excited about trying this place but now I know to stay away.
