Their whole beans run well through my espresso machines. Their brewed coffee always seems to need a shot or two to give it some taste. I do have an issue with their breakfast sandwiches ( at all CR locations). They have it seems gone to lengthwise slicing little tasteless sausage links instead of a real piece of sausage. It just takes away from being ok to eat to a stellar sandwich. Myself I would prefer a sandwich from Hole in One donut shop in Homosassa . But I will continue to by my beans there as the pool is a bit shallow for coffee roasters in Citrus County. (Please management don't contact me as you have a habit of) if things change there I will amend this, but I would need to buy another sandwich) y'all see it's a catch 22 right ? Took my nieces there for a day full of fun. We had cookies and bubble tea. There boba tea menu was limited to three flavor which did not include brown sugar but the young man working there went out of his way to make me a brown sugar tea anyway. He did a great job and earns an A just for his patients and effort. All the employees were exceptional. Cattle Dogs is in an old historical house on citrus ave in Crystal River. They have a small living room to cozy up with your coffee and a larger living area with tables. There is also a nice front porch with steps to relax the on and watch the shoppers while sipping your coffee. read more

This was an unexpected surprise -I was coming back from Tampa (to Tallahassee) and my GPS took me to a country road (not on the highway) and I happened to find it after I stopped for lunch. It's cute, a bit rustic, and quiet. Nice people working. I asked for a cortado and got something more like a macchiato. Their espresso is dark-roasted with a bit of an edge. Clean flavor. But the real star for me was the chocolate espresso pecan biscotti! It had more of a shortbread texture than a biscotti..and it was huge! It had such nice flavor of chocolate with just the right amount of pecan pieces and hint of espresso. If I ever drive to Tampa again, I'll make sure to swing by this place. read more

I had a coffee and a muffin and they were fine. The inside is nice and there's lots of seating. There were a lot of people sitting outside on the porch reading and working on their laptops even though the weather was pretty hot, and when I stepped inside I realized why. The music was too loud for me to concentrate on the book I brought to read, so I cut my visit short. I was the only customer seated inside and an employee was talking to a woman at the table close to mine. I assume the woman was an owner or a manager, because she told the employee, "Just keep upselling," and sent him back behind the counter. I understand they have a business to run, but it seemed like poor taste to say something like that in front of a customer. read more

Spazzy nutty monkey sounds like it may be too flavorful but even with the chocolate syrup at the bottom its has a light sweet flavor than one may assume, I ordered mine w almond milk & the Carmelita is soooo yummy very caramelly & sweet my husband asked for another shot of espresso in it actually just to dull down the sweetness if it. This was the only restaurant we visited twice during our visit and took home some baked goods to family in Miami. The boys working behind the counter were very nice and friendly. My husband ordered the pastrami on Asiago bagel sandwich both times, he loved it! It had just the right amount of spice. I ordered the blueberry sandwich the first time and the Hampton BLT the 2nd time. They were both so tasty! Hearty and full of flavor. Definitely sit down sandwiches. Would not want to try to eat one in the car in the go! They were so good, worth the time to sit and savor. We took home some k-cups home because we don't have a CDCG in Miami...yet! We got the Southern Piggy Biscuit Bread sandwich and a drink. The sandwich was really good- the bread was fresh and had a lot of flavor. The sandwich had a little kick to it but nothing crazy. It was filling but not over the top. We had a slice of the cranberry nut bread. That was phenomenal!!!! I would have bought a whole loaf if they had them for sale. read more

Having lived in this area for nearly 3 years, I really want to like this place..... there is NOTHING else (unless of course one is a gas station coffee drinker, which I am not). I wanted them to make my very specific $7.00+ coffee correctly. I wanted to not wait an excessive amount of time while it was wrongly made and then wrongly remade. I read the online menu and I'd seen the building many times, finally got my hubby to go with me to Cattle Dog. He said the burger (mango chutney, cheddar cheese etc) was the BEST burger he's ever had, and he's 76. I have to agree. Headed there with friends so we can share the experience. The coffees are beautifully displayed, I think I'll try one this time (had the sweet tea last time and it was delightful). There are gobs of choices in coffee and tea too! The menu is small, which I prefer- too many choices confuses these old brain cells. There are just enough items on their slate. Can't wait to return!! I am going to go ahead and give this place a solid 5 stars. First of all, the amounts of flavored coffee that they have and the mere fact that they also sell coffee pods. I have never seen a coffee shop sell these individually. The great thing about it, is that it is THEIR coffee, so you can take some home and try it before you go buying a half/pound of it for the house. Me on the other hand, saw that they sold Butterscotch flavored coffee and I was in. "That'll be a pound for me!". My boys and I all had something different.
