Came by here for a catch up brunch with girlfriends. They have a wide variety of items on the menu to choose from, from traditional pancake and eggs, to Mexican style breakfast items, and even steaks. We ordered an omlette, brioche french toast, 2x2x2, as well as a couple signature lattes and iced latte. The food was fine, and the portions are fair. I was told by our server that the brioche French toast was savory and sweet and I decided to try it anyway, but I personally wasn't a fan of the savory marscapone cheese filling. I tried a bit of the buttermilk pancake and it's not like the thick, fluffy kinds that I like, it's thin and a little more dense. The signature latte is a must have if you like lattes - so good! We finally made it down here and not what I was expecting with the word cafe in it . It's more on the higher scale of decor and service . I read somewhere that the chief is award winning . I ordered the shorts ribs, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Brother had the rib eye , and my wife had the salad. We also had the garlic bread and they give free homemade chips. New, happy breakfast experience here! I am expecting great things for this breakfast/brunch/lunch eatery now that we have tried it. Opened a mere 2 months ago, this is Executive Chef/owner Nef's first restaurant, after a long career cheff'ing with the formidable Ruth's Chris Steak House giant. He learned well and is doing everything right to guarantee his own successful future. Quality ingredients, lovely service, charming ranch-themed atmosphere (well, maybe a bit loud), great recipes, and a kitchen crew that is well trained to meet Chef's high standards. Chef Nef is very personable and welcoming and completely surprised me by making the super effort to leave his kitchen domain and greet his patrons and chat. He is very insightful on how to please his guests. First impressions... no waiting! We came on a Sunday morning at 10 and were promptly seated. Trust me... this will not last after people discover this place. And, oh, look! A puppy friendly patio, too! Now, about the food. Short Rib Chilaquiles. Not at all dry, unlike a few other reviewers have suggested. The meat was tender, moist, and just a hint of fat. The bed of blue and yellow corn chips was still crisp and fresh tasting. These were topped with a generous portion of the chopped meat, two eggs, a chunky salsa of chopped tomato, and feta. It's definitely a great choice. Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. The two house-made crab cakes were made with real blue crab and a minimal amount of cracker crumbs, so there was no mushy texture. This made me happy. I hate mushy crab cakes. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection with the whites cooked well enough to be opaque, but the yolks were still spilling out perfectly when poked. His hollandaise was made from scratch, a classic recipe with a very delicate touch of tarragon. Usually, I am not a real tarragon lover, but this was so balanced it was lovely. My only wish would have been for the crab cakes to be slightly larger. You have a choice of house potatoes (grilled with onions and bell pepper) or Ranch beans. A single buttermilk pancake, ordered as a side. I will never look at a pancake the same way after nibbling on this one. Exceedingly moist, thinner than expected, this is not a wagon-wheel sized cake. It is extremely flavorful. Chef confessed he adds secret ingredients that create a batter, unlike most. It is served with a whipped, cinnamon honey butter and a small cup of syrup. An absolutely wonderful treat that Mr B insisted reminded him of a moist bread pudding with no crust (his contribution to my review). I am so happy we tried it. Prices are moderate but it is easy to be even more economical by sharing. There is a real bar. Lovely restrooms. Plenty of parking. Happy diners. Spacious and able to accommodate large groups. I wasn't sure what to expect when we visited. Upon entering I noted that the space looked different than the photos - smaller and cozier feel. The right side was the bar area and the left had the tables. We sat at a table near the front - nice and bright. When I visit new brunch places, I like to order the simple common entrees. I got the two & two combo - eggs, bacon, and pancakes. I know what I like when it comes to pancakes and I've also sampled pancakes from a plethora of restaurants. This is an acquired taste, in my opinion. That one review that said the pancake was raw - I see what they mean. And that other review that said it tasted like bread pudding - I also get it. The pancake texture is dense, yet chewy. It's not your stereotypical all-American thick fluffy pancake, but it's definitely worth a try. First bite, I didn't know what to make of it. Then it grew on me and by the end, I loved it. I still prefer the fluffy texture, but on days when I crave something different, I know where to go! Oh and the latte I ordered was delicious. I'd give the food a solid 4 stars, but I'd give the hospitality 6 stars. They got heart. The hostess and our server were really hospitable and took care of us. The owner and Chef Nef both came by our table to chat. They took the extra step to ensure the guests' dining experience was nothing short of amazing. They were both super warm and welcoming. I ordered the signature latte with decaf coffee and eggs Benedict. --They make the latte so well, it's just the right amount of sweetness. It is a lot more milk than i expected and not a very strong coffee scent but overall definitely recommend! --The thick grilled bacon slice is not too salty and it balances well with the creamy hollandaise sauce. We went for brunch/breakfast yesterday (Saturday). We love this place. The staff is so welcoming. We arrived after the morning crowd; therefore, we were seated right of way. We started off with the amazing Lavazza coffee. I chose the signature latte with an extra shot of espresso! (I needed the extra boost to tackle a few projects ) OMG! It did the trick! We opted for the Crab-cake Eggs Benedict w/ranchero beans and the Chorizo con Huevos w/ranchero beans. My husband really enjoyed the crab cakes with the eggs benedict. I too really enjoyed the chorizo and huevos because it had a lovely potato and peppers hash under it. We both really like the Rancho beans. We also ordered two pancakes with fruit which were fluffy and delicious. On another breakfast/occasion, I chose the chicken and waffle. I was amazed with this combo. The waffle is sweet & fluffy. It comes with a nicely sized crispy chicken atop. I didn't need the syrup as much as I really enjoyed the habanero salsa poured over the chicken. Now, THAT combo was very tasty! You must try the salsa if you like a little heat. It's not too hot at all. It's perfect. I did include our dinner pics from the week (or 2) before. This was one of our most amazing dinners thus far. They had a tomahawk special. Of course, we chose it medium rare with the brussel sprouts & loaded baked potato as the two sides. Chef Neftali brought out the tomahawk steak! This steak was amazing! Cooked to perfection! The brussel sprouts were cooked totally different than I had ever had before. They were delicious!! The baked potato was just that "loaded". Very tasty. I was mainly looking for a spot with a variety of options, but it was essential that they served chilaquiles since my husband is obsessed with them. Luckily, it wasn't busy when we arrived, and we were seated right away. We started with drinks--I chose a blended frappe, and my husband went with an iced latte. Both were delicious, and I still think about that frappe, to be honest. For our meals, I can't remember exactly what I ordered, but it included a hot link sausage, eggs, and pancakes. Ours sons ordered, Chicken Waffles, Breakfast Burrito and Meat Lovers Omelette, all very good! I ordered the chicken fajita omelette. Delish. The beans had bacon, oh we loved that! Good service! Very clean, even the restrooms. The restaurant has 2 sections in an open area, there was party of 10 ladies on the opposite side of where we sat. The tables were decorated beautifully! The Ranchero beans were THE BEST!! The Ranchero beans were a take on "frijoles charros;" beans that are cooked with meat, peppers, and chiles. We also ordered the Chicken and Waffle, and a pancake breakfast. Everything was enjoyed so much, we went back for a second time the following week. Food: We ordered the Prime Burger, Flat Iron Steak, and Beer Battered Shrimp. We love them all. My Beer Battered Shrimps are some of the best I have had. The shrimps are fresh and huge ! The batter is just right and each shrimp is very consistent. Make sure you try the Sautéed Vegetables Medley as a side . The steak is juicy and well seasoned. It's just the way the like it. I had tried both iced and hot Signature Latte. It has a very unique flavor from the coffee brand Lavazza which I love. The hot latte even comes with a cute little birdie art on top when served. Service: Customer service is great and tentative. The waitress made sure we were well taken of. Food came out quick and I love how all the dishes came out at the same time. Ambiance: One of my favorites is the large mural on the wall. I couldn't stop staring at it and it really gives the restaurant a ranch like feeling. The restaurant is clean and neat. However I ordered the short rib chilaquiles & they were very regular tasting plus the steak was cold not even warm. I understand sometimes places have stuff premade but you could at least heat it up when serving it to someone . Also when I went to pay my bill I got charged an extra $7 for using card which is absolutely ridiculous if you ask me. When I asked to break a $100 bill the man at register said he didn't have cash. So you're forced to pay with card then? Kinda seems like you're getting over on people & forcing them to pay with card. Food POISONING!!! Had dinner here and my son ordered the salmon. His plate came out and 5 minutes later the waiter came out with a plate in hand as if he was walking towards our table and made a U turn but had a weird look on his face. Another few minutes later the waiter comes out and says we gave you the wrong plate we gave you the sea bass and not the salmon. My son didn't realize it was sea bass he just thought it was prepared differently so he ate it. We left the restaurant shortly after and my son started puking and having irratical bowel movements. Obviously the food was not prepared properly. I called the restaurant and left a voicemail to let them know. This is a premium restaurant. The location is easy to get to, plenty of parking. The interior is very relaxing and a nice feeling of space. Service is very good, very polite with pleasant servers and management. The food is absolutely great! I have had both the chicken dish--which I could not finish--and the short ribs. Both were outstanding. My wife had the filet which she loved. My personal recommendation is to start with the Spring Mix salad. Please support this restaurant.
