The cheeseburger never disappoints. Very large portions. The beef was seasoned to perfection. The split top bun was soft. The bun didn't fall apart. All the vegetables were fresh and crisp. The French fries have a breaded coating. They were hot and crispy. The whole meal was delicious. The service was attentive and fast. The interior of the restaurant is rustic, all wood and stone. Great food and pretty good service. We stopped in for breakfast and wow they had a lot of delicious choices. My granddaughter got The Cowgirl breakfast and it was cooked exactly like she ordered it. I had the cattleman's breakfast it was a more than I could eat but everything on it was delicious. I also got a little side of their homemade salsa & all I can say about the salsa is WOW! It's so good tasted so fresh and made me feel like I was actually in old Mexico. The next time I come here I'm trying a Mexican breakfast item they have a few and I know from the flavor of the salsa they'd be fantastic. Our group meets there on the first and third Mondays of each month. Friendly service, delicious food. I like the blackened catfish that comes with a light cheese sauce and four or five shrimp on top. Delicious. Another favorite is the King Burger, which comes with pulled pork and onion rings on top. I prefer it without the bun which makes it a low-carb treat. If you are really lucky, they will have Ding Dong cake. The baker apparently can't keep up with demand. It is extraordinary, but so is the carrot cake. read more

With a name like "Cattleman's," the menu doesn't have a lot of beef on it. The menu looks good enough, but the place looks run down and dreary. Ordered the chicken fried steak. It was a steak, but not a cube steak. Seasoned pretty nicely, but bland frozen veggies sautéed in bacon and onion and soupy instant mashed potatoes. Sweat tea tasted like powdered made with saccharine. Don't think I'll be back. read more

Server seemed to have an attitude, and I ordered steak and eggs and a pancake, the eggs and hash browns were perfect but the steak was very hard and chewy and not exactly how I ordered it and the pancakes were sweet but slightly raw. Stopped in for lunch on our way to see some friends. So glad we did. Hubby got steak and eggs with hashbrowns and a single biscuit with sausage gravy. I got the steak and shrimp with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, green beans and Texas toast. A little more food than should be consumed at lunch time, but oh man oh man was it good. The prices are fantastic especially for the serving you get. The staff was super friendly and helpful. It's attached to a livestock barn which for me personally just added to the ambiance. Very country vibe, but clean and comfortable environment. The restrooms are rustic, but functional and clean. Overall a fantastic experience and we will definitely stop in the next time we are in the area. read more

This is the place of choice for the Green Forest Lions Club -- we enjoy their food at noon on the first and third Mondays of each month. The Green Forest Chamber of Commerce broke with tradition and moved the annual banquet to Cattlemen's this year as well -- largely because of the impact made by Fernando and Elcy when they took it over. The two chefs have absolutely turned the place around. Superb food, excellent service. read more

Don't stop. Don't stop. Sonic is only a block up the road. The food was not good. The French fries were served cold. I am not sure what I was served as coleslaw. It was a mini bowl of cabbage and mayonnaise. Disturbing disgusting. My mouth could not even swallow due to the gag reflex. read more

Coming back from Eureka Springs looking for a place to have breakfast, saw the sale barn with a restaurant and decided to try it. Wow, had to be the best breakfast I've ever had! We usually go on Friday or Saturday night for the best fried chicken and fried catfish. The food is home cooking including the pies & cake. it is excellent. The entertainment is local people playing mostly country and bluegrass music with a little gosple. it's the best deal around for about 12 bucks for whole evening's meal and entertainment. read more

For the real Midwest farmer dinning experience, this is the place. The amount of food is farmer style and is good. The hamburgers and fried chicken are very good. The conservation at the " local" table is pure country and is worth the price of the of the meal. Since the restaurant is located at the local livestock auction, Thursday the day after the sale, lends a special oder to the experience. We had heard about this restaurant locally and decided to try it. I don't know where these 'other' reviewers usually eat, but they must be accustomed to really awful food. They are supposed to be known for their Chicken Fried Steak, which I tried. It was so tough that I feel sorry for anyone wearing dentures and trying to bite through meat that was slightly less tough than shoe leather. The corn on the cob was a 4 inch piece of cob with corn that I believe must've been steaming all day long. It was mush. The potatoes were lumpy, but the gravy was actually decent. My wife had the buffet, which again must've been on the steam table all day long. She tried the German Chocolate cake to try and at least get a decent dessert, but the coconut looked burnt and she said it tasted like it had gone bad. It was so dry it crumbled. They obviously don't know how to make German Chocolate cake either. If I could've given them LESS than 1 star I would've. If you like food don't waste your time here... read more
