Steak that was supposed to be prime rib
    Karen C.

We had a reservation and went on a busy day. They have a private parking lot, and opened early which was nice. However everything went South after we arrived and were seated. Our young, male server (name unknown) was slow and forgetful. But he was nice and apologetic. The steaks and salmon were charred beyond belief! The steaks (requested to be medium well) were burned and black on the top and bottom. They were sent back, and burned the same way the 2nd time as well. Literally HARD to the touch. It was so bad I thought maybe the server put the order in as well done - even then they were burned. He said he hadn't. The salmon was grilled so hard that the grill marks were hard to the touch - and I do mean hard. Another of our party ordered prime rib instead the 2nd time, but received steak. The fire was obviously too high for cooking which rendered everything burned so badly they were black, hard, and overcooked. When the 2nd round of steaks and salmon came out the same way we were floored! The lobster was cold, and our party requested no bacon on the loaded potatoes but yes, you guessed it, they had bacon. It was a terrible experience and a super long wait for meals to arrive at the table. This was not our typical experience here so we were very surprised. I had requested this place for my special dinner but this experience totally ruined it. We couldn't eat any of it. Mary the manager came and apologetically took the food away. By that time we were terribly disappointed and didn't want to sit for or trust a 3rd remake. We ended up grabbing fast food to go from another restaurant and went home.

Went on a Friday night and it was packed. Had reservations so we didnt have to wait. I have to say we had the best waiter Cayton. He was awesome and was soo attentive to us and our needs. We didnt have to ask for refills or anything he was on it. I do have to say I had the best meal I've had at a Cattlemens so far. The steak was cooked to perfection melt in your mouth good. The bread was fresh hot out the oven and so good. Our wings were hot and fall off the bone delicious. Our Peter pan cookie with ice cream was hot out the oven and so ooey gooey goodness. I highly recommend If your looking for a good steak, great service and a cool fun ambiance then come here you will not be disappointed.

Stopped in again on our way home from Santa Cruz on a Saturday night because we're steak lovers and don't have one near us. Wait was 30 minutes for dining but they had open bar seating we were welcome to. They have a lot of space in the bar and despite being busy, we found an open high top. Our server was Taylor and she was fantastic. Appetizer 5/5 Complimentary bread 5/5 served almost immediately after Taylor took our order. Warm bread, slightly cold butter melted onto it pretty quick. 5/5 Calamari Large serving, crispy and flavorful but batter was surprisingly light with a perfect crunch, absolutely delicious! Both rings and tentacles and one of my new faves. Dipped in the tartar sauce but the cocktail sauce had a hint of horseradish kick to it. 4/5 Brussels crispy and beautifully presented, and well cooked and seasoned with a crisp finish but would've loved a little more sweetness to it. Still super solid. 4/5 All you can eat salad -still love this concept! Didn't finish it so didn't need a refill but the iceberg, onions, croutons and cherry tomatoes were enough. 5/5 Rustler ribeye (14 oz) shared with the hubs. Came with a potato side and baked beans. Got a loaded baked potato and also got a side of mash because fluffy Mel was in charge today and wanted to compare both. Mashed wins! Split between the two of us was still plenty of food. The ribeye was cooked medium rare and had rich flavor and not too much fat. 4/5 Side of mashed potatoes - side serving was a bit small and also served room temp, but it was still good. We both actually preferred it over the baked potato this time. 2/5 side of button mushrooms - there was a bit of a vinegar type of taste to these, where I'd prefer garlic. It was not my favorite but it was only $5 or so, so I'm not bothered by it. I just won't order again. Wanted to get the apple pie or carrot cake but couldn't breathe by the time we packed our leftovers. We'll be back next time we pass again!

Cowboy feel. Get there early or call in a reservation it gets busy. Their Happy Hour is legit. (Ribs, potato skins, lamb chops...allll fire) house beer and margarita on point and not pre made! Cowboy steak and beans phenomenal! Best part was the fresh and hot sourdough with unlimited salad tossed w blue cheese. Fire!! Service was amazing and the inside had a great western feel, clean and comfortable.

First time to a Cattleman's so was curious to experience eating here. Ordered a martini which was tasty, no complaints. Then the smallest 9oz cut prime rib, medium. It comes with all you can eat sourdough bread and salad both of which were pretty good. However, when they brought out my prime rib, it was clearly not medium more like rare. And was sliced very thin. So I sent it back and I'm not sure how they cooked it more but it came back about half the size as it was before. It was pretty mediocre as far as taste and texture. I must say the service provided was excellent, just the food wasn't all that great. I think Black Angus has them beat. I don't think I'll go back.

    Beef ribs super yummy!

Awesome!! This place is awesome! 5 of us had dinner here Thursday night. The food is so wonderfully delicious! Everyone loved their dinner and only one maybe two of us in the group could finish the gigantic portions you are served! Come hungry to this very welcoming honey place! The ambiance of this restaurant makes you want to stay all night long! Everyone loved their meal! The only regrets are that we were so full we couldn't order dessert and we hadn't worn elastic pants. The food is so good that you continue to eat well past the full mark of your belly! Great place with excellent friendly service! Please see pictures below and let your eyes do the feasting! We will be back!!

We decided to give this place another try and glad we did. We were greeted as soon as we came in and were walked to our table. Our server, Caden immediately greeted us and offered us drinks while serving us bread. At this time, we were really impressed. It was so different from our experience before. Caden was cheerful, friendly, professional and so attentive. We didn't have to find him or wait on him. His timing was impeccable. Needless to say our dinner went flawlessly. Now the food, AMAZING! We had calamari and brussel sprouts as appetizers. The calamari was cooked to perfection and the brussel spouts were sooo good. Crispy and tasty. You must get these appetizers. For main, we had ribeye and steak with shrimp scampi. Both were cooked to our liking. Both were so flavorful. Great steaks!!! Salads were fresh and the balsamic vinaigrette was on point. The veggies that came with my entree were also cooked just right. The colors of the veggies were vibrant reflecting their freshness. Now to the dessert. I was so full but my husband wanted to try the fried apple pie that came with 2 scoops of ice cream. Yupp, 2 scoops. Definitely get this dessert. Place was spacious but cozy. Bathrooms were clean and lots of parking. I highly recommend this place.

It's been about ~17 years since I've been & the bf's first time. We celebrated a "Fredaversary" (inside joke). Got there about 5:45 on a Friday & the saloon was packed - was hoping to order off the HH menu but no luck! We waited about 10 minutes for a table in the dining area. Service was great! Our server came over and took our drink order fairly quickly. Ordered the Cowboy Cooler and Cattleman's Old Fashioned. Both were delicious. He gave us a couple of minutes to look over the menu & we decided on the original steak dinner for 2: appetizer choice were the Tumbleweed onions (huge portion!), bf got the 14 oz NY strip w/broccoli, I got the steak & shrimp scampi w/sweet potato. We added a side of mushrooms as well. We both requested for medium well & the steaks were perfect. The meal came with dessert (chose the deep fried apple pie) but took it to-go as we were both stuffed. TIP: don't fill up on the sourdough bread like we did! LOL We'll definitely return, hopefully we can sit in the saloon next visit.

Amazing! Our server Bridget was the best. The service was on point, we did not need to ask for anything. We arrive in New Year's Day, party of 3 @ 7:30pm. Sat right away in the main dining area. The decor was good to entertain my 5 year old for a short period of time. Food was great, service was fast and great. Not a lot of options on the menu. Complimentary bread 10/10- warm sourdough bread who can deny. Mozzarella moons- 8/10 not out of the ordinary, best while hot. Potato skins- 8/10 yummy and glad they served with ranch and sour cream. The big house salad and boat off ranch was something that stayed on mind as well. Triple Threat Brochette- 10/10 two steak skewers with veggies marinated with teriyaki and grilled served with mash potatoes were the best. Big enough portions to fill up in or share. SBL cocktail- 10/10 (spiked blackberry lemonade) strong enough to fill the buzz, tasty. Not too sweet or too tart. An enjoyable night and dinner.

Located inside somewhat of a warehouse style with loads of other restaurants and shops. There's even a mini grocery store inside. The place was packed but we manage to get a table on the patio. It was perfect as the day was gorgeous and the patio was covered. Inside was mainly the bar area counter which was packed. Also, it was highly recommended by loads of friends. I've done the one in San Francisco but this location was new to me. Service was great when we got seated. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Menu, seafood and more seafood. We opted out on wine as we've been drinking all day to begin with. Food, it was a mixture of everything. There was a good amount of us so sharing is caring. For starters, the fries with eyes, fried anchovies. You either love them or hate them but these were nice. Fried to a nice crisp, you don't really taste the fishiness of them and with the dipping sauce, it was delicious. Of course you have to have the chowder. It's a bit different from your traditional clam chowder as there's the clams in shell with all the topping. It's good but a bit messy with removing the shells. And the mussels, another favorite. It's like you can't go wrong with steamed mussels in a nice wine broth. So delicious and worth it. Gotta go with the oyster as well. We ended up with the variety of the grilled oysters versus the raw. They were quite tasty and flavorful. I believe it was 4 different style of arrangements and they were all delicious. The grilled squid salad sounded amazing but it was a bit underwhelming. Even the presentation was just a little blah. It was tasty but it could have been a missed. The shrimp po boy was another that was just ok. Not like your roll that I'm used to getting but it was on a burger bun with 4 piece of shrimp. The coleslaw and the pickle veggies that were part of it were tasty. I was expecting something different but it was ok. Lastly the linguine and clams. Decent size bowl but packed with everything. Loads of clams and pasta. Broth was tasty and was a hit. Overall, some dishes were a hit and some were a miss. Of course when you leave, you see dishes that looked amazing and regret not getting. Oh well, give us another reason to come back. Service and meal great.

One thing to note: they do not take reservations, and lines can start forming as early as 20-30 minutes before opening on weekends. I know because I was absolutely one of the early line-uppers. The bar at Hog Island is definitely a vibe, especially if you enjoy watching the oysters being shucked right in front of you. That said, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and grabbed a seat on the patio instead. They also have heat lamps overhead, which was a nice touch in case it got a little chilly. We basically ordered as much as we could. The oyster bar mix was a great choice for sampling a variety of oysters, and the Sweetwaters ended up being my favorite. Honestly, I'd probably just order those next time. The grilled oysters were also amazing. We got the miso nori butter, and if we hadn't already ordered so much food, I definitely would have gotten another round. The rustic seafood stew was one of the biggest highlights of the meal. I genuinely don't know what they put in that stew, but it was so rich, cozy, and addicting. We also got the grilled cheese sandwich, which I tragically forgot to photograph, but it was perfect for dipping into the stew. Lastly, the mussels were wildly delicious. Make sure to scoop as much of that broth into the shell as possible before taking a bite, because that's where the full flavor effect really hits. Overall, Hog Island was such a memorable Napa experience. Between the oysters, the patio, and all that incredible seafood, I'd definitely come back the next time we visit.

Always a good time at C2!…read more I don't always make the trek here, but when I do, I make sure to visit C2. The service is superb. The staff is courteous and friendly, and they check on you during almost every course to get feedback. The dim lighting, personal lamp on every table, and white tablecloths give it the classic steakhouse feel. They used to have these cool light-up menus that illuminated as you opened them. I'm a little sad they don't have those anymore due to vendor issues--it was a small, thoughtful detail that really made a mark on me. The food is great. The steak is always perfectly seasoned--not overly salty or overdone, just right to the point where I don't need to add anything else. Even the roasted bulb of garlic that comes with the steak is perfect for adding extra flavor if I want to. The sides are what you'd expect from a classic steakhouse. One thing that sets them apart, though, is the bread. They always have a great variety, plus a huge helping of butter on the side. If this place were closer to home, I'd probably be here every other month. So it's probably a good thing that it's far away.

This place is never open! Anytime, I've tried to go eat there it's closed or they have a sign on…read morethe door that says they're closed. But online it says they're open. So disappointing. Have you yet to try it so I can't even give them one star.

We found El Capi on Yelp and were impressed by the great reviews. When we walked in, it was completely empty, which made us a little hesitant--but the vibes felt right, so we decided to give it a shot. First impressions? The place is super cute and spotless--huge for me. Even the bathroom was chef's kiss clean (major points!). The server was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Booths were spacious and spotless. You can order from physical menus or scan a QR code, which is always a nice option. Here's what we ordered: * Caldo de Camarón * Calamari * Spicy Edamame * Two shrimp tacos * One fish taco * Shrimp tostada Everything was seriously delicious. The edamame had a great kick, and the calamari was perfectly cooked--crispy, not rubbery--and paired with a zesty tartar sauce that really elevated the dish. The tacos and tostada were fresh and flavorful. My only critique? The tortillas. That's the one area I'd love to see improved. Handmade or at least warmed on the comal would have really taken the tacos to the next level. Ours felt like they came from a microwave or warmer, which was a bit of a letdown. As for the caldo--it was flavorful and came with a generous side of onion, cilantro, and avocado, which I loved. The shrimp-to-broth ratio was perfect, but I wish there had been more veggies in the soup. A few more chunks of potato, some carrots, maybe a bit of zucchini or even corn would have made it feel more complete. One other win: the beans. My husband couldn't stop raving about them. We're not sure if they were made in-house, but they didn't taste canned, and that's a win in our book. By the time we were leaving, more people were coming in--which was nice to see. I have a feeling El Capi might be a newer spot, and I genuinely hope it takes off. If you're in the area, give them a shot and support a small business with a ton of potential!
