In a nutshell; Been here a few number of times, was an ok experience everytime. My experience has been mostly consistent each time, almost had the same server each time and each time was attentive. Luckily enough, Haven't had to wait for a table but after ever experience there seems to be a line forming outside. The food didnt take too long and haven't had any awful experience , though there was one time I asked for a medium well steak but when I got the food it seemed more rare if anything. Still the food was good enough for me to wave that one mishap off. The prices are what you expect out of a casino and doesnt exactly match quality of the food but if youre in thunder valley and just looking for a good spot to settle away from all the lights and not wanting to break the bank even more but don't want the food court options, Id say the thunder cafe is a decent option. read more

Decided to check out Thunder Cafe before attending the Freestyle Explosion concert with another Yelper friend, May A. We actually tried a different spot at first but the wait time was almost 2 hours which would've gone past the concert start time. We got seated immediately in a booth although the place was busy with lots of customers. Clean tables though May had to point out to the server to wipe off her seat and the server was very accommodating.. I ordered the reserve prime rib dinner with baked potato and veges. She ordered the blackened grilled Atlantic salmon with rice pilaf and veges. We shared a small piece of each other's order. The meals were delicious!! The blackened salmon was very tasty and the prime rib was very tender and juicy, plus dipped in au jus sauce. The server was very attentive and courteous checking in often on our requests. I had the turkey dinner as a to-go order and it was surprisingly delicious! The turkey breast was very moist and flavorful. The mashed potatoes had a lot of flavor and paired well with the gravy and turkey. The cranberry sauce was sweet and had whole chunks of cranberries. The vegetables were very buttery and tasty. The portion was average and would be filling for most people, but if I was very hungry I could probably eat two meals. read more

I've been here a few times now with family. Their prime rib is really good, but I feel like the cut is too thin sometimes. I recently ate here and got the parmesan cheese bread with marinara and cowboy burger. The food was good and service was great. It was crowded though since everyone was coming out of a show. My food came out pretty quick and my server brought out my drink refill and ranch quickly. I enjoyed my burger and the cheese bread was great. The fries are seasoned perfectly well also. We came here yesterday after finding out our preferred spots, High Stakes and Red Lantern, were completely packed. It turns out a Richard Marx concert was happening, which explained the crowds!The wait here was about 20 minutes, and they texted us when our table was ready. While the service at Thunder Valley Cafe was attentive, the food quality was a major disappointment. We ordered three dishes, and out of the three, two missed the mark entirely. The Turkey Dinner was almost inedible--the turkey was tough, dry, and difficult to chew. Similarly, the chicken in the Chicken Pasta was so heavily over-seasoned it completely overwhelmed the dish. I'd rather not post a review if I cannot say anything nice, but the decline at the Thunder Cafe is so rapid that I feel it's a service to all potential patrons that I must give an honest review. I ordered a taco salad. The taco shell was thick and brown, as if sitting in a refrigerator too long. The shell was filled with a decent salad, but the beef consisted of a few sparse spoonfuls of "Beef" that tasted more like Hamburger Helper than real meat. And it was on top of the salad, not deep inside the shell. When I get a real taco salad, such as at Taco Bell, the ample portion of beef is at the bottom of the fresh shell, then covered in salad and a sprinkling of cheese on top. The Thunder Cafe taco salad was bland, very little beef, and no cheese. My partner got a pastrami Reuben sandwich, which was good, but after eating the first half, the second half was soggy and needed a knife and fork to eat it. The pastrami was good and savory, as well as the potato salad, but like the taco, more than half had to be left uneaten. The coffee was terrible. It had an odd sour taste. It was closer to dishwater than to coffee. I had to abandon that too. In days gone by, the food at casinos was considered excellent, as they made their money at the gambling tables. I was surprisingly delighted with our meal here at the Thunder Cafe. Me and my wife had an hour before our concert at The Venue so we had a quick dinner here at Thunder Cafe. The restaurant feels very similar to any Vegas cafe/dinner. There was no wait and we were led to our booth immediately. The menu is typical American diner; I had their Prime Rib dinner and my wife had their Taco Salad. We also had an order of Calamari for appetizer. The calamari was okay. Nothing to rave about but pretty solid. Shortly, we had our main dishes. First of, my prime rib meal was very substantial. I was surprised how well proportioned my meat was with a proper amount of thickness. Flavor was also there; the prime rib has proper seasoning, so was the mash potatoes. The au jus compliments the beef well and the side vegies were not an afterthought. Overall, it was a very well made prime rib dinner. My wife's tacos salad was delicious as well. I had a quick taste and it was delicious was well, albeit may just a hair too salty. What really blew my mind was that with an appetizer, two main dishes, and a dessert. With tax and tip included was still south of a hundred dollars. I'm pretty sure it was hoovering around $80ish if I reckon. I'm like 'that's a pretty damn good deal!' I don't think I'd see that anywhere in the Bay Area. So concert go'ers or slot machine'ers I'd highly recommend Thunder Cafe for any of your food cravings. read more

While visiting Thunder Valley for an event last night, we decided to arrive early to grab dinner at the casino beforehand. We tried the steakhouse first, but found that no reservations were available - not surprising. So we decided on Thunder Cafe which had a small line, but it moved fast and we didn't have to wait for a table even though it was pretty busy. We were greeted immediately by our server Evonne who was very friendly and personable. We ordered coffee to start as we knew it was going to be a long night and also the Seafood Linguine and the Portobello Mushroom Sandwich. The Linguine came with garlic bread on the side and the Sandwich came with your choice of fruit or fries - my mom chose fruit. While the Linguine was clearly made with frozen shrimp and scallops, the vodka sauce had a good flavor and the noodles were cooked well - I ate my entire plate. My mom enjoyed her Portobello Sandwich even though she said it was a bit messy and ended up eating it with a fork and a knife. Thunder Cafe also offers a crazy array of desserts - they had multiple glass cases full of everything from breakfast pastries, to cheesecakes to even my personal favorite - Tiramisu. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and I would definitely check them out next time we visit Thunder Valley! read more

The customer service is great! Even though the cafe was crowded we were seated right away. We ordered a breakfast burrito with sausage and an omelet with spinach, mushrooms and ham. Both were very delicious! The burrito was so large, that half of it was taken home. We were so full that we didn't stop to buy anything from the dessert/pastry counter.
