When I stopped in yesterday, there were at least 6 employees behind the counter, but it still took long enough to be served that the people in line behind me loudly contemplated leaving. Several employees looked right at us, did not acknowledge us, and then turned and walked away. It seemed like no one knew who was supposed to help customers. Just very disorganized. The salad toppings and sauces were delightful, as usual. However, the braised lamb was covered in thick yellow grease. During my visit yesterday, I tried to order my usual, a greens and grains bowl with half super greens and a mix of white and brown rice. I was told I could no longer split the two without being charged extra, which was confusing since it is the same portion whether I choose one or split between the two. I told him never mind, I did not want to pay for something I normally get for free. To make things worse, I was charged an additional $1.50 for extra white rice, even though I did not receive extra rice and did not get white rice at all. I decided to stop in to grab something to eat before a long drive to Richmond, VA. The staff was pretty friendly and I was excited to try the new Harissa Avocado bowl with harissa honey chicken. I ordered it as is, as the ingredients looked great. Everything was fine until the employee absolutely drowned the bowl with spicy harissa dressing. It was so spicy that I choked several times while eating, and quickly finished my drink. Not the best thing to do before a 3+ hour drive. The employees need to take more care of how they complete customer orders. There was no reason why so much dressing should have been added to this bowl. I love Cava and I like this location a lot! They are so generous with their toppings and they always have the ingredients stocked up. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the ingredients are always available (I've had to wait more than a few times for ingredients but that just means I'm getting it fresh!). The spicy chicken wasn't too spicy, and in the future I know that I can tolerate it. This is a NEW Cava. And it's right next to Shake Shack, which was where most of the traffic was headed. They don't know what they're missing! It had been quite some time since I've been to CAVA. For real. I'm talking probably over a year. So I asked the woman to walk me through it. In the end, I believe she was the manager. She was patient and helpful. I got my bowl full of lamb goodness! I hate that I don't know the names of all the ingredients, but .....she understood what I wanted. I was excited and rushed to get home so I could eat. The store is pretty spacious. There were only a few people ordering so I was in & out. I took mine to go. When I got home I realized the lamb balls were a bit burned. This was my first time at a Cava, so I'm not sure how the serving size, quality, or customer service of this location compares to others. I created my own bowl and was very lucky that the girl helping us was so patient. She walked me through everything because I had no idea how to order or what to get. I was pretty surprised by the a lot of the reviews of Cava, because when I visited, all the food stuffs were available, no one skimped on my portions, and while the employee helping me was indifferent (and maybe a tad impatient) no one was rude to me. I went to Cava as a favor for a friend who placed an online order for pickup. Since I'd never been to a Cava before, I had to go inside to figure out the concept. It's very much like a healthier Chipotle, but waaay more options for carbs and proteins. You could have a pita or a bowl. I went with the bowl, lentils as a base plus arugula, and the stewed lamb for my protein. I got a whole bunch of miscellaneous sauces and add-ons as I went down the line and I was a bit concerned the pieces I was putting together would not taste good once I mixed them all up and consumed them. Made me wish I could taste everything beforehand, but that would be too much like right, right? Luckily I ordered the final dressings on the side, because one of them I definitely wouldn't have wanted slathered all over my food. Overall, the items I chose for my bowl all worked together and tasted pretty good. The bonus pita I got was a nice accompaniment to the rest of the meal. As for my friend, she'd forgotten to ask for her final dressings on the side and it looked like someone had gone to town with the sauce on her bowl. It was everywhere and she was pretty unhappy. Had to end up going back to Cava for a new bowl which defeated the purpose of me picking it up for her [shrugs]. So beware when placing an order for pickup to specify what should go on the side. Otherwise, this place is ok with me. There are no locations convenient to where I live but I may go back to this Cava when I'm in the area (if I don't go to Samos instead). read more

My husband and I decided to check out Cava on an early Sunday evening for dinner when we didn't feel like cooking. I put in our order online and came to pick it up at the scheduled time. I've only ever gone to the sit down waiter service Cava a long time ago, but I was looking forward to the quick service Cava here. The immediate parking lot is a bit small, but there's a larger parking lot for the sprouts, and you could just walk over. There's a large wall for online/pick up/delivery orders. My order wasn't ready yet, and it did take them a couple of minutes past the scheduled time to get ready. Which I didn't mind. We ordered a jasmine tea, a half greens/half rice bowl with meatballs, a spicy lamb meatball pita, 2 pita breads, the hummus, and the crazy feta. Everything was well packaged for take out. I really enjoyed the bowl and the unlimited toppings. The harissa has a kick to it, and I loved the pickled veggies. It was the perfect portion size for me, I wasn't hungry after eating it, and not overly stuffed. The pitas/dip was fantastic. We really enjoyed the crazy feta. It was tangy yet had great flavor. The jalepenos were a fantastic addition. My husband enjoyed his wrap but it was super messy. He said he wanted to make his own bowl next time like I did. The jasmine tea was fine, I would go for the other drinks next time. Overall a pretty decent meal. I would definitely come back because of convenience. And it was pretty delicious! read more

Only giving two stars because I love the food at Cava. The staff and service at this location is horrible and needs some serious work. Half the time they are out of ingredients, even if you go earlier in the day. Not sure if they just can't get ingredients due to a shortage or if they just don't order enough to begin with, but it's seriously annoying and an inconvenience to customers. I can't order online at this location anymore because they constantly get things wrong. One time they even went as far as to give me the wrong ingredients on my online order because they were out of stuff, thinking I wouldn't notice. The staff has a serious attitude problem. I once complained to a manager and he just laughed in my face. I've complained to their corporate office a few times but it gets worse and worse. No amount of account credit they could give me at this point would make this location improve, the staff is just lazy, incompetent and rude. Today they rang up my order wrong and charged me for things I didn't purchase. I noticed because I ordered my usual bowl and it was higher than normal and I didn't order anything extra. When I pointed it out to the cashier she turned to her coworker and was like oh what protein did he get and she replied chicken and quickly changed the price. I mean come on, they can't even accurately ring up an order! It's hard enough as it is in this economy to make ends meet, let alone being charged for things you didn't even order. Horrific customer service. I placed and order on the CAVA app for delivery. Two bowls- both arrived incorrect and a pack of pita chips. I drove to the store for my order to be corrected. The manager was rude and unhelpful. Prior to noticing our orders were incorrect we ate 2 pita chips. The manager, Augusta, charged us for an entire new order of pita chips with the corrected order. The remaining chips were returned so I was forced to pay for 2 orders because Augusta didn't look in the bag. Theft of the customer. Disgusting. She needs to be fired!!! read more
