Foods good, was crowded on a sunday, had to wait in line for a good half hr, asked for water cups, they ran out, cashier lady needs to be retrained on how to serve customers better, just use whatever cups you have, some of us just need plain water, no sodas, nothing, just water. 02/22/26 around 1:30pm. I always bring utensils and cups in my car, took those and get water from the dispenser, but that should not hv happened. Stood at a the "pick up" wall for 20 minutes. During that time, 6 employees made eye contact with me and didn't say a word as my order sat behind them. No greeting, no asking me if I needed help. Just made eye contact and continued with their shift. There was only 2 people in line and multiple employees walking back and forth. I had lunch at this restaurant today. My daughter and I had two chicken pitas and a salad. I counted 8 pieces of chicken, a few pieces of lettuces, feta cheese and olives in the pita. The salad was served in a small plate which was half full. For the amount of money I paid I feel this meal was over price. I Asked for a print receipt and apparently they runout of paper, the cashier promise to take my receipt to the table but she never did. Also the floors, the seats and the tables were dirty. The trash was full to capacity. I love Mediterranean food and I was really hoping to like this restaurant. Unfortunately it was a disappointment, I do not recommend CAVA in Chino Hills. Food is as good as other locations , but portion size depends on the day / service. The area is pretty crowded for prime lunch time with a hard time to find parking. I recommend coming at odd hours and to use the app to order online. Can't give full 5 stars because I had an employee who just did not want to take my order and I guess I was too bothersome to have basic customer service. They didn't ask me any of the basic questions and just wanted to send me off ASAP. Probably won't come back to this CAVA location since I'm used to the amazing service at the Rancho Cucamonga one. CAVA is a Mediterranean bowl place. There's several locations throughout the US. This one is located in The Shoppes at Chino Hills. I usually order a Build Your Own Grains Bowl with Saffron Basmati Rice, Tzatziki, Grilled Chicken, Fire Roasted Corn, Avocado, Tomato + Cucumber, Pickled Onions, and Garlic Dressing. It's been consistently delicious. Great portions of the rice, grilled chicken, as well as the other toppings. The grilled chicken is perfectly grilled and tender. The other toppings and fresh and plentiful. The garlic dressing is packed with flavor and is creamy. The service could use some help. On one of the visits, the employee that helped with my order seemed annoyed and it was painfully obvious that she didn't want to be there at all. Ordering bowls nets you a pita bread. The first visit I didn't get any pita bread. On the other visits, they gave me pita bread. For the other visits the service was alright, the bare minimum. They weren't rude but they weren't exactly friendly either. The ambiance is nice. Very large and spacious restaurant. Lots of seating available. I love the bowls here. The bowl exceeded my expectations. I ordered the falafel bowl, and customized it with half falafel half chicken, changed the dressings, grain option and veggies. The Mediterranean spots have different ways of making their falafel and this place makes them good. It has like a nice crunch to it and not as grainy. I wish that I ordered an extra side since the bowl only came with two (given I requested half and half protein). This place is like the Mediterranean version of Chipotle. I mainly order ahead on their app since the wait-time can take a while. I usually order their build my own Greens and Grains bowl ($12.05) with lentils and greens with falafel, roasted corn, roasted broccoli, pickled onions, and skhug dressing. All their dips and sauces are pretty good, the harissa has a good heat to it. They do serve grilled and braised lamb. The place is kinda kept clean but they're so busy the tables can get messy. read more

I've been to the Rancho Cucamonga location and Azuza multiple times and they give them to me happily for free or charge me. I feel the food at other CAVA locations is good, but this Chino Hills location has been disappointing. In my most recent experience, I received a straight up raw lamb meatball. I went up to show the manager and asked if it was possible to get a refund since this is clearly a health and safety concern. She did not apologize for the raw meatball and she was hesitant at first to give a refund because I was 3/4 of the way done with the bowl. I was confused as to why it mattered how much I ate before discovering the meatball was raw...it wasn't like I cut the two meatballs open first thing to make sure they are cooked, the assumption is they are cooked correctly and I obviously was not going to continue eating this bowl after discovering raw lamb in it. She did end up giving me the refund on the bowl, which I appreciate, but her hesitation to fix the issue was concerning. It wasn't a situation where I was missing an item or anything, this was literally a food safety issue and she was hesitant to fix the situation. Overall I give this location two stars because the other food such as the rice, and veggies, and sauces are tasty, but this customer service situation was not good and probably won't be back to this location at least. read more

This was my first time taking my sister to CAVA, and she was genuinely excited to try it. She had high expectations because I've been to other locations (like the ones in Seal Beach and Fontana) and always had great experiences. Sadly, that wasn't the case here. The store itself was nice, and the guy who helped build our bowls was decent not super friendly, but manageable. The real issue was the cashier. The moment we got to the register, his energy was off. He looked miserable, annoyed, and like he didn't want to be there at all. He gave off such a negative vibe that it made the whole experience uncomfortable. My sister asked him a simple question when checking out, and instead of answering kindly, he responded with a sarcastic attitude. She even told him, "You need to have a better day, your customer service is really bad." And instead of addressing it, he just looked around at his coworkers, almost looking for backup. The manager in the back (who was cooking) said nothing and let it slide. Honestly, customer service is everything especially when you're in the food industry. It's disappointing when one person's bad attitude ruins what could've been a great visit. Came in on a Wednesday night around 730pm and surprisingly there was no line. Ordered in-person and chose the "Chef Crafted bowls" - Harissa Avocado, coming out to a total of $17.17 after tax. The bowl was absolutely delicious, tasted fresh, and decent sized (wish there was a little more hummus). The service however was subpar. Sure the workers were friendly and had a smile on their face but came off a little unprofessional. After taking my order, my bowl was handled by what seemed like a newer employee who didn't know the toppings. The male was leaning over the ingredients counter to twist his body to look at the menu behind him to make sure he got all the ingredients right. Towards the end, he asked if I wanted more toppings but had left out the #1 ingredient - Avocado. I kindly asked for avocado and another worker said it would be extra but I politely had to ask if it was included since I ordered the "Harissa Avocado". Afterwards the male worker who had helped me seemed to be sent out on break and on his way out it he used profanity playfully but the other coworkers had to shush him. Overall the food is good and I'm lucky I came at a less busy time. The workers are nice in general but could be a bit more professional/remember the toppings or should put measures in place to help the workers know what to put on the bowls without leaning over the counter to view the menu behind them. I'd probably increase the review to 5 stars if the service improves! read more
