A portrait shot of my food with a refreshing drink
    Derrek

Hello there friends and thank you for joining me here my fellow yelpers and foodies on another foodie adventure! On this adventure we are going back to my long time favored place and one of my main go to spots for healthy and fresh food. This place is called CAVA. Some History! Cava began with three childhood friends from Greek families who opened Cava Mezze in Maryland in 2006. Inspired by the food and hospitality they grew up with, they later transformed that idea into a fast and casual CAVA experience. What started as a local restaurant, has grown into a nationwide Mediterranean favorite. Food: I was able to get a delicious make your own bowl with black lentils and fresh spinach. I got three scoops of the crazy feta and grilled chicken as my protein. I also got double of all the toppings except the olives. To finish it off, I put on lemon Herb tahini sauce and Garlic dressing. So delish! Ambiance: The ambience was quite nice. I was there first thing in the morning when they opened pretty much and so the dining room wasn't as busy. It was quite clean and maintained as it usually is from the drink station to the tables. Plenty of seating as well. Service: Shout out to all the peeps here who helped me today. The people who served me today were Alex, Marissa, Christian, Annie, and Lily. I usually like to chat to everyone who helps me with my food and so when I did chat with all of them, they were all quite cordial and helpful in creating a perfect CAVA creation. I look forward to coming again soon! --Derrek with 2Rs

Do not come to this location. The customer service and management were rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in communication. I waited in line and dined here for at least an hour, only to deal with an unclean restaurant and a women's bathroom with no toilet paper or soap. Then I discovered the soda machine wasn't working. When I asked an employee about it, his response was essentially, "I know." Okay... then where is the sign letting customers know before they purchase a drink? Instead, they continued selling fountain drinks despite knowing the machine was down. I purchased two drinks that I otherwise would not have bought. When I asked for a manager, I was met with excuses and a whole lot of "I just got here" and "I don't know." Yet I had been there long enough to know that wasn't exactly the case. Eventually, another manager offered a bottled drink as compensation -- but why did I have to ask for a manager, explain the problem, and essentially suggest my own solution? Customer service 101: if you know something isn't working, communicate it and make it right. And the final straw? Before I left, the manager started discussing the situation with other employees, resulting in people staring at me. Completely unnecessary, unprofessional, and frankly embarrassing behavior from management. Dirty restaurant, bathroom without basic necessities, broken equipment with no signage, poor communication, and management that made the situation worse instead of better. No class, no accountability, and definitely no reason for me to ever come back to this location.

Plenty of free parking on the lot. Came during a hot weekend dinner time. Dining area appeared clean. There was a worker actively sweeping when we arrived. There was a pretty long line when we arrived and had to wait. Waited about 10 minutes before we started to order. First time trying cava and we did not leave with a good impression. Got the Steak and Harissa for $16.20. Didn't change anything about the Steak and Harissa ingredients. Felt the portion was really small, especially since the bowl wasn't even halfway filled. Saw multiple people getting the build your own bowl with their bowls much more filled than ours. The food tasted alright. Nothing special. Left not hungry nor full, but didn't start hungry to begin with. Felt like we fell for the hype. Food wasn't good. Portions were small for what we paid. Would not come back.

Cava is super duper amazing awe-inspiring restaurant that everyone has to try once in their lifetime. I dream about Cava and will never pass up an opportunity to come here. Their bowls are amazing, it's like a souped-up Chipotle and Chipotle is already crazy good. Also, if you aren't feeling a full meal, get a kids meal! Kids meal doesn't have much customization but the drink makes it more than worth it. Their house-made drinks are so good. Get a drink it is super worth it. Before you know it, you'll be a Cava enthusiast like me.

This is by far the absolute best CAVA I have been to. I've been to the one in Rancho Cucamonga(2stars), and in Rialto(3stars). But this blows the others out of the water! This place never fails to prep their food right, portions and all, I love it here, I have tried the lamb, steak, spicy chicken, and falafel, and they are all cooked to perfection every time! The service is hit or miss, I mean like anybody, everyone has off days, but everyone is always willing to help with recommendations. I definitely come here often since it's usually where the wife and I shop near for just about everything. I cannot praise this particular location enough for such a well put together staff! It's usually busy but doesn't drag to get customers through.

CAVA is the perfect spot for a quick and healthy meal. Their Mediterranean-style bowls are delicious and filling with generous portions. I like to "build your own" bowl in which I can mix and match my favorite greens and grains. There are plenty of dips and spreads, mains, toppings, and dressings to choose from. I would recommend the grilled chicken and Harissa honey chicken for some protein. I'm also a big fan of the free side pita that comes with each bowl. Although a bit pricey, the heavy customization and fresh ingredients are what make me come back time and time again. Having the CAVA app is a must if you are coming here regularly. Through the app, you can earn points, unlock perks, and place mobile orders. I have only had positive experiences with mobile orders, with the orders always being accurate and ready at the given time. It is super convenient and easy to pick up food from here.

Don't go there, baby Not before I'm ready Spicy Lamb Meatballs Pita from #Cava

I've been seeing Cava for a while now. But seeing as I haven't been a fan of Chipotle in almost five years now and everyone describing Cava as a Mediterranean Chipotle, I haven't really been all that interested in giving it a shot till now. What I found was kind of good. I liked all the options for proteins they have, especially the seared lamb and spicy lamb meatballs. The options at Chipotle were never too exciting and pastor is my favorite Mexican meat and all they ever offered was chicken pastor. But lamb? Lamb is one step away from goat, and I love goat in a pita or burrito. The spicy lamb meatballs were great. The pita wrap was great and all the fresh veggies were great. I would definitely order this more if it weren't so expensive. It's just hard to justify $15 for one item and no sides. That's venturing into what a good trout or steak frites at a local food joint would cost you. The service was good except for the fact the employee kept having the meatballs roll off the pita and not be replaced. I could have had six meatballs, but she let two roll off--one into the veggies and one into the checked bin behind the counter--and she didn't even offer to replace them. That leads me to think I should've had 33% more meat on my pita if I had a more coordinated counter jockey. The space is nice with a lot of tables and that 80% occupancy line I try to seek out in a fast casual joint. I get the sense you could just pull a book here after your meal without a problem. That's a good thing, when a place is more interested in providing that great customer experience instead of trying to keep turnover rates high. As it is, I don't know if I'll come back often to Cava. I'd have to know the next spicy lamb meatball pita might have the protein packed into it that it deserves and that $15 won't feel like prohibitively over-priced every time I walk in. Cava is good, but not great so I can't see it as a regular visit.

Cava is one of the places that never gets old. If it's your first time I suggest the build your own bowl. You can choose a base (rice and/or greens), a protein, and toppings including hummus, and pickled vegetables. It comes with peta for free so make sure you get that with the bowl sometimes it gets overlooked but it is free with bowls! Service is fast and helpful they have good suggestions for sauces that may pair well with your toppings. Ambience is nice and open seats are usually available due to the amount of space. Pricing is not bad for what you get. It's a lot of food sometimes two meals worth for one bowl. It's fresh, fast, and worth a visit.

the Harissa Avocado chicken bowl. 5-6/ 10 ... rice undercooked flavors were good.

All the hype on socials i was so excited to try CAVA. this was the closest to me coming from an evening soccer game in the area. location was good near other shopping stores and food places. inside was clean and looked pretty organized with it being busy walking in. i ordered the Harissa Avocado bowl there's a line of workers to get your order down and build your bowl. when it got to the 3rd person where toppings were she asked me "what toppings do you want" i answered her i ordered the Harissa Avocado bowl. She looked confused, the guy before her on the work line told her what to put. then i noticed she didn't add avocado, i asked her about it and she told me it would be extra with an attitude. so then i asked "is it called the Harissa Avocado bowl just because ?" Again her colleague helped her to correct her. i can understand it was busy and maybe fairly new. But to have an attitude is just not going to be tolerated. As a first timer this ruined my experience and the excitement to try w/ all the hype. I think her name was Isabelle, the name tag had other designs it was hard to read. finally got my order right. everything was good as far as flavor. Rice seemed undercooked had some hard grains still. i will not be returning to cava :/

I ordered to pick up to avoid wait time. However, I'm not sure if this was the reason why my bowl and pita bread were all cold. The rice is cold, not even lukewarm. It tasted like it was cooked and stored the in fridge and did not even bother to warm it up. The pita bread is only 1/4 of a full pita bread, very thin and it is not warmed either. Flavor wise, it is still very good. Also, the veggies are very fresh and grilled steaks are flavorful and cooked very nicely. The portion is quite small with the price charged (again not sure if it's because I ordered online). I would give an overall 3.5/5. I hope Cava is able to keep their quality and quantity consistent with both online and in-person orders.

One of my favorite spots for a quick grab and go and I was able to introduce CAVA to my wife as well. Similar to Chipotle, there's plenty of ingredient options, ranging from veggies, meats, various proteins, etc. The selection is endless which makes the bowl very customizable. Price maybe $20+ for a standard bowl but it's worth as the staff fill up the bowl tons. Quality of food is great and very delicious. Each bowl includes a free side pita bread which is a nice touch, a delicious touch to the meal. It's honestly such a nice food option after workouts as they provide tons of macros, protein, and healthy options. Overall, this spot is great, staff is friendly and quick despite how busy this spot can get. They have a separate staff for the online orders which streamlines workflow, and they're also quick as well which is great for to go orders. This specific spot is great, located at The Shoppes At Chino Hills, it's almost always very busy in which I recommend ordering on their app to avoid wait times. Highly downloading their app to progress with their rewards program as they offer quality rewards.

The total came out to $52+ (including CAs seemingly mandatory these days tip). The friendly employee gave us our receipt, order number and beverage cup, and we waited. In contrast to other reviewers apparently short wait times, we sat waiting around a half hour for our take out order to be delivered to us at our table. We headed back home as soon as we got our order and the food held up very nicely. Id say the tacos were delicious and very filing. The battered fish and shrimp in each were generously portioned and the cabbage toppings on each were not only refreshing but eye appealing as well. Although the tacos hit the spot, I have to be honest about the rice and beans, as being an Angelo--if the spot has legit Rice n Beans, then everything else on the menu is spot on. Can't say this holds true for this spot, as it was quite literally the worst rice and beans Ive ever had from an establishment touting Mexican (style) food. I opened the takeout container of rice and was disappointed to say the least, it was just a helping of white rice-- the same as you would get at Chinese takeout. The beans? Even worse than the rice. I sat for a while trying to figure out how to not toss them out, as that would be throwing money away. I'm still pondering.... Go for the tacos, stay clear of the R&B.
