Be prepared to wait in line. It took about 30 minutes to make my way to the front counter to place my order. The space is bright with cozy tables to enjoy your meal. The team is friendly and helpful in explaining the various options. They offer counter service Mediterranean style food. They offer a variety of bowls and stuffed pitas. There's also the option to build your own. Brown rice, white rice, and black lentils are the foundation. There's also are a variety of greens to choose from. Next add a sauce or two. The crazy feta dip and red hummus were my favorite. Next choose a protein or two from salmon, steak, chicken, or falafel. Lastly add toppings and dressings. The balsamic and garlic sauce are delicious. I purchased two bowls, added extra crazy feta dip and pita. I really would have liked a little more of the toasted pita chips, an order comes with 6 pita wedges. The bowl was incredibly hearty and filling. I had enough for a small leftover meal. The drink counter is an absolute must. The drink offerings include cucumber mint lime juice, classic lemonade, blueberry and lavender drink, and a seasonal favorite tangerine with Aleppo pepper. I waited in line 30 minutes unfortunately, plenty of workers, just think people don't know what to get. Jamal was very friendly. Kourtney was very friendly. Tons of the staff were outgoing and super bubbly. This made the environment and atmosphere feel warm and welcoming. I can say I would've never tried this variety on my own at home, but it wasn't terrible. Definitely different. But as a family of five, we spent over $70 including tip and that's just not feasible in my mind because everything was addition, drinks chips, etc. The kids meal was very plain and not very kid friendly. Finally got to try the new Cava! Keep in mind there will be a wait! So possibly order ahead to avoid any potential wait times. The restaurant is very nice, plenty of seating inside and small outdoor patio. Many different many options and combinations which I appreciate. And also very friendly for non-meat eaters! I tried a bowl with their new salmon. I was a little disappointed with the serving size and went ahead and got a double portion so I definitely think that is not worth the additional cost. The frenzy for CAVA is insane, but I get it. Before we moved to MO, CAVA was just 15 minutes from my office and then I deleted the app when we got here because it wasn't here! Well, when it opened up here I knew it would be busy for a while. It is still CRAZY busy - line to the DOOR. And depending on the traffic, they close the app down for pick up orders. On a whim, at 9PM, I went to see if we could do a pick up and it was available! There was still a huge line, but I haughtily got my food on the pick up shelf and giddily ran to my husband while he waited in the car (lol) The portions were much smaller than I remember, but I'll attribute that to being slammed at every hour. The restaurant was pretty clean while I was walking through. The only issue was their ice was completely out, so our drinks weren't refreshingly cold. I stopped by early Sunday afternoon and was genuinely impressed with what they had to offer. The setup is similar to Chipotle, where you move down an assembly line and build your meal by choosing your protein and toppings. I went with a bowl as my base--brown rice, half chicken and half steak for protein, hummus, and I got balsamic dressing on the side. As I got closer to the register, I noticed the sour mac chips looked too good to pass up, so I made an impulsive last-minute add-on. To my surprise, the total came out to just over $21. Since I was hungry, I tried some of the pita chips on the way home, and they absolutely delivered on flavor. This place is pretty much perfect to me. I love the menu choices, the house-made beverages are really good, it's very clean and bright and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. They have unique fountain beverage choices like house-made selections like Aleppo Orange, cucumber mint lime, blueberry lavender, and lemonade. There was also freshly brewed iced tea and soda by Maine Root. The staff offered wonderful customer service and were very patient with me as it was my first time visiting. they have premade bowls and pita, or you can build your own. There is a lot of choices to make so you may want to plan ahead if it's usually hard to decide. I chose the "build your own bowl" with salmon. Everything was so fresh! My family and I went to Cava for a quick Saturday night dinner. I was crowed with a line out to the door. However it didn't take that long, maybe 10 to 15 minutes and we were able to order. The restuaruant is an upscale modern fast food style. The staff were all doing a good job of interacting with the customers and explaining the various food options that were available. First time to Cava! I got there about 10 minutes before opening on a Saturday. There were about 15 people in line by the time the door is opened. I definitely wouldn't wait more than 20 minutes for a bowl, but I would make a stop if the line is short. Unfortunately, the entire meal was fairly pricey. $20 for a grains bowl, side of pita chips and drink (near $4!!). I would absolutely skip the drink next time. The pita chips were a must. The protein was a few scoops too, which was nice. There was a cava employee for each section of the line, and everyone was in good spirits with answering the repeated questions with the first time guest. The inside is clean, spacious, and retro. Soooo excited that a CAVA is finally (somewhat) closer to me now! It's a bit away from St. Louis city, but it was worth the trip, especially because of how much I missed CAVA! I've never seen a CAVA with a line going out the door though. Nice clean space but due to the long lines you can feel as though the customers are looking at you while you eat. Was a beautiful day so we sat outside. I added lamb to my bowl. It was ground lamb, I would have preferred strips. The hummus was delicious and lettuce was fresh. There were lots of options to create your bowl or you could order one that had a pre-designed menu. I would like to go back and try the salmon bowl. Great addition to the Cottleville area. Went right at open on the 2nd day and 20 people were already waiting outside to get in. Took about a half hour to get through the line. The team was doing great for the high volume coming at them. Everyone had a great attitude and seemed happy to be there. Did a build your own bowl. While in line, the CAVA team was going to each person in line, welcoming us with samples of pita/hummus/tzaziki as well as drink samples. The weather was looking rough, so they then arranged the line to snake around the store to get as many people inside without disrupting the people sitting down to eat. I was shocked that they didn't run out of food, and the people who complained about portions or "messy" bowls are a little ridiculous given the insane amount of volume this store was doing all day. I ordered a salad and my husband ordered a pita. Both were delicious as always. The vibe of the store is strong with the signature CAVA aesthetic. I had been waiting for a Cava to open and for the crowd to die down. I was at the nail shop and remembered I was close enough to pull up. The parking lot was crowded. There was also a line but it wasn't out the door like I had been seeing on line. There was still enough seating on the inside and an outdoor patio with seating as well. I was taking my order to go. I pulled up the app to decide exactly what I wanted. I didn't want to get up to the front and not know. So I put my Mediterranean bowl together on line and just read each part to them as it came up. Didn't seem like they cared about efficiency. I didn't get a drink I had my water with me. My food was delicious and the overall feel of the visit was pleasant. I can't wait to go back. Went for lunch on day 2 of their opening. The line was out the door. We waited about 35 minutes. You can always order online and avoid waiting in line. I'm very familiar with Cava with all my travels in Texas and California. This restaurant was swamped with customers and they were still executing at a high level. I ordered a grain bowl with half brown rice and half basmati rice. For sauces I got hummus and tzatziki. For my protein I got grilled chicken. For toppings I got two scoops of chopped tomatoes and cucumbers, one scoop of pickled cucumbers and Greek vinaigrette dressing. All the ingredients look like they were just made. We were fortunate to find an open table. My grain bowl was over the top delicious. When we were waiting in line I spoke with an employee about the status of the Des Peres location and he said it's targeted to open in August 2026. I would also state that this restaurant is family friendly in the way that the bathroom was large and there was a nice changing table for babies, there was someone in a wheelchair and she seemed like she was able to get around within this restaurant well. The food at CAVA is a favorite of our family. Our introduction to CAVA was in Arizona and the food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. We were excited when the one in St. Peters opened near us. The first few days the line/wait time was simply too long (a great sign for the restaurant). When (a few days later) we finally were able to get a "to go" in under 4 hours lead time, everything was on par with what we experienced in Scottsdale. Good food, good service, and nice portions. The second and third times we have visited, the staff has seemed a bit less pleasant; maybe a bit rushed to get the orders completed? The food is still good, but the portions appear to have been significantly reduced, at least on our orders. We're hopeful that once the routine of operating a new restaurant settles, the efficiency, service, portions, and overall atmosphere will be consistently good. Meanwhile, we will continue to visit and enjoy CAVA in St. Peters. Perhaps our rating could rise to 5 stars! read more
