Cava is the best healthy and quick meal stop to come to the Southbay and trust me it will satisfy your cravings! My husband and I used to drive to Santa Monica just to get Cava and have been to the new location in El Segundo several times. Location: At the south East side of The Point which is a small outdoor mall. Plenty of seating inside, on their patio, or picnic area in the grass. You could also easily order it on their app "to-go" to enjoy on the sand or watch the sunset (10 min drive away). You collect points on the app btw and they leave the to-go meals on a shelf for "contact-less" pickup. Parking: Always easy! There's a giant parking lot and spots for fast pick-up. Food: Think Mediterranean chipotle with a healthy and flavorful twist. Every bite is full of flavor with all the different pickled veggies and hummus! If you have someone in your group that doesn't like exotic flavors, they might opt for a traditional grilled chicken bowl with the usual chipotle type toppings. Visited this CAVA location on 6/22/23 at 8:15pm. Although line was long and opted to not do an online order and just wait it to go through the line since it'd probably be faster. Wait was around 20 mins. Staff seemed maniac. Ordered a Greens and Grains Bowl. The staff who attended me was a young gal with piercings (vividly remember her septum piercing) Anywho... I was disappointed she was not able to add Persian cucumbers to my bowl because "they ran out". I asked if she could grab some from the online order prep table behind her which she replied, "no, that's for online orders only". I asked how long it'd be to get more and she then replied they wouldn't get more until tomorrow since they were almost closed. The long lines outside restaurants never lie... so of course you will come across a few negative reviews that at first always seems to be the review that is the most accurate... having said that, most of the negative reviews on Cava essentially revolves around the timing and for clients not to want to wait. Everything was spotless and I didn't see any dirty dishes on the tables. I was really impressed! **Price & portion, 5/5** These are big bowls and they don't skimp out! Absolutely get the bang for your buck -- my grains and greens bowl ($12.12 after tax) actually lasted me two full meals. **Presentation of the food, 5/5** Honestly it gets a little messy after all the sides are piled on, but it is still gorgeous because of all the colorful ingredients. **Taste of the food, 5/5** I already love Mediterranean food, but I was really blown away by the freshness and quality of the food here. I love build your own bowl type places that won't break the bank no matter how many choices you pile into your bowl. What made me put Cava high on my list was the clarity of dairy vs dairy free selections. The line at 12:30pm on Tuesday wasn't bad at all. The ordering process was fairly straightforward. Choose bowl or wrap, then greens (choices of salad greens vs power greens), grains (saffron rice, brown rice, right rice), then proteins (grilled chicken, honey chicken, lamb meatballs, veggies, etc). If you get lost, just look at the labels on the windows. Then plenty of toppings, from traditional hummus, red pepper hunmmus, tahini, eggplant, or spicy tahini then toppings of pickled onions, tomatoes & onions, tomato & cucumber, lentils, or corn. Then choice of dressing (which you barely need since the toppings are so flavorful. Hubby thought the bowl seemed a little "sloppy" but I thoroughly enjoyed the blend of flavors and colors in my bowl. Everything was seasoned nicely and not overpowering, which is a big thing for me. Hmmm what can I say.... The food is always good at CAVA and the experience is always smooth. However not for this place. If I were the owner I'd feel embarrassed of what type of operations that is being ran here at this location. Waited close to 40 min to get in and out of this place. The staff was very rude, customer service was even worse. The manager didn't seem to know how to operate and keep his employees in line, they were talking walking around orders were stacked line wasn't moving lots of talking, chicken was burning on the grill the alarm timer was going off all the employees were looking at the grill but none of them moved to remove the chicken. Super burnt.. I would personally never come back to this place! If I was personally the owner I would be in my franchise making sure it would succeed.
