Not my first time here. I've picked up a few meals here but didn't get a chance to post. I'm usually consistent with my order of the chicken & rice bowl, as it is on the menu. But I tried something different this time and this may be why this trip wasn't like the others. I tried the harissa avocado bowl and it was just ok. The food quality was a bit different & my rice could've been cooked a bit longer. I didn't taste the honey flavor that was advertised for this bowl. I was excited for the combination of flavors but did not enjoy this dish overall. The staff was moving a bit slower despite only one person being in line before me. My friend had to repeat her order and toppings a few times. There were customers dining in but the noise level inside was not overwhelming. They are always amazing and never lets you down. We went to the bridford parkway location and were as always very satisfied woth the meal. The food is always fresh and delicious and feels healthier than other fast food joints. The options look amazing and they keep adding new things as well. We got the cinnamon sugar chips along with the harissa bowl and it was amazing. I oove there spledid greens with lentils and is always super filling and leaves you satisfied. The service is quick but since kt was busy the line got backed up a few times , but we did not have to wait much. Ordered on the app and picked up in store. Everything was perfectly prepared and the quality was great. They even have parking out front for people who are getting take out which is super convenient! I don't change up my order because I am a creature of habit! The kids meal is my choice with the steak. It's a good portion and includes a dip, side, sauce, and drink. Mediterranean food can be a little intimidating to me. This build your own meal system was the perfect fit. There were so many options and my whole party got a bowl they enjoyed. This place is SO good! I usually only order to-go via the Cava mobile app, but I actually ordered and ate inside this time and what a difference it was. The portions seemed a lot bigger ordering in the store versus ordering ahead of time. I got a salad bowl where you can pick your own greens, dips/spreads, mains, toppings, and dressings. You can add as many toppings as you want at no additional charge (minus avocado). Everything tasted fresh - my favorite main is the roasted vegetables. This place can get very busy around lunchtime with the line to the door. Staff is very friendly and didn't seem to mind explaining the ordering process to customers several times. If you don't get their Crazy Feta® in a bowl or on a pita, make sure to get a side of it. For you non-feta lovers, this isn't your typical feta. My kids hate feta, but they devoured this. I have been in this shopping center several times, but never saw Cava back in the corner. Glad to know there is a place that has healthy food in that area. So I came here from a friend's recommendation. He said how great this place is, so I decided to give it a try. I frequently eat at Cava. If you have never been, it's like a Mediterranean chipotle. You go through the line, customize your meal and feel good that it's reasonably healthy. Tonight everyone in my family was busy. We tried ordering wings delivered but the site wasn't working. We decided on cava. I've never gotten DoorDash Cava, but it was an option when ordering. It was supposed to take 40 min and be delivered by 7:30 pm. After an hour I checked the app. The driver was still waiting for my food. Just then he called me and said my food wasn't there and after he waited in line they said someone else must have gotten it. I don't order DoorDash often, but this is so awful. I asked what to do and the kind dasher said if I called cava it would be helpful. I called and they said they would remake it. The dasher got my food and you would think this is where the story ends. No, it's not. My order was missing its chips and if you have ever been to cava you know these are essential (and also the unhealthiest thing on the menu. Think: fried pita and salt). I called the restaurant and told them my families 3 orders of chips were missing. I could feel my "inner Karen" starting to come out. I tried to restrain her. The kind person on the phone offered to drive the missing pita chips to me. I said no and I'd be by to pick them up. I asked if there was any "cost recovery" or "service recovery" to make this right. Not sure if the person on the phone understood. I refrained from saying "can I speak to a manager." I figured I'd handle that in person. I alerted my family I would be headed to get the pita chips and they were welcome to join me on this drive to cava (less than a mile from our house.) They reluctantly agreed. By now it was 8:30 pm. They all said they didn't care and just wanted to eat. But those pita chips... ! I calmed entered cava and by then the dinner rush was gone and I'm sure the employee on the phone spread the word I was coming by. I smiled and introduced myself to the several staff members behind the bar. They got their manager (without me being a Karen and asking)! She was extremely sympathetic to the situation. She shared that sometimes people get the wrong order and there is not much she can do because the order was through DoorDash. She immediately presented me with 3 meal coupons in the amount of my family's order (there are three in my family). And got our 3 bags of the very important pita chips. I thanked her profusely and shared that I appreciate her making this right. I have a 17 yr old about to go to college and enter adulthood. I shared this with the manager and that I would love to invite him in to show a real life example of someone making a situation right. She invited him in and offered us drinks and dessert. The manager shared that she knows we spent more on this meal plus tip and delivery fee through DoorDash and as someone who orders DoorDash herself sometimes they mess it up. This was a wonderful lesson for my son that if a situation is not working out as planned, that he is empowered to not settle for the outcome. That it is worth making it right and that there are good people and good businesses in the world. Cava at Friendly is an example of a good business with good people. When we got back home with pita chips in hand, our meal was amazing. Cava is always delicious (and the pita chips were extra good). Part of me feels like this was karma that there were issues with my order because I was "too busy" (read: lazy) to drive across the street to pick up dinner. The other part of me is grateful for this experience. To have a practical example for my son to see a situation made right. The staff at cava, especially the manager went above and beyond to make this right. I know this was over an order mix up and some pita chips, but I think the overall example of all parties involved doing the right thing: me for not settling and the restaurant for making it right, is a priceless lesson and amazing business. It's finally arrived in the Friendly Center!!!! I've been eagerly waiting a closer location hoping it's deliver, and it does! Lucky me! I ordered through the app per usual and was able to select delivery. It arrived earlier than expected which is a bonus. The bowl is a grain and greens bowl. I got the harissa honey chicken which is an additional charge. It was incredibly spicy. I've had it at the other location and this time was much spicier. Still good, but be prepared. Thankfully I paired with tzatziki, roasted eggplant and hummus. I also added their tomato onion mix, crumbled feta, roasted corn and lentil tabbouleh. As my dressings, I get the garlic dressing and Greek vinaigrette. Both create a lovely taste with creaminess and acidity. I also ordered the blueberry lavender drink. They didn't fill it with any ice which was appreciated for delivery. No watered down drink! It had an amazing flavor. The lavender was there but not overpowering. Still sweet from the blueberry but not too sweet. Perfect, honestly. Will continue to order from Cava in the future as a treat! Very good chain/process management and was easy to order without feeling rushed. The employees were pleasant and kind. Very large indoor seating area but also outside patio seating. If I had to eat the same thing over and over, the Harissa Avocado bowl with Right Rice would be a top contender. The bowl is packed with flavor...and protein. Perhaps one of my favorite things about Cava is the Right Rice option. The feel and taste is just like rice but it's made of healthy proteins (lentils primarily). While I love the food, and very much frequented the Cava off Wendover weekly, this location has really dropped the ball. The service was embarrassing to the point I audibly laughed out loud at how ridiculous it was. What makes it worse was the incident was prompted by who I believe was management from their behavior. The staff member in question was Whitney. She slowed service to a crawl by trying to manage the WHOLE setup line while other staff had to sit and watch her. This caused issues with trying to manage multiple orders instead of delegating to the full amount of staff. Very poorly run. The cardinal sin here was the portions. I paid extra for the braised lamb ($3+) to be greeted by the smallest amount I have ever experienced in all my trips to this chain restaurant. I am not joking when I say the amount was less than a spoon full. When I tried pointing out the obvious problem she ignored me focusing on the mismanaged line of customers she had behind me from not delegating to other staff. I will say the cashier did pick up a lot of the slack of missed communication from Whitney. It's clear why she took over though. Being that picky on portion sizes shows an incentive to take advantage of customers to save on food costs. Not the quality experience I have come to expect from this company. I got this recommendation from my wax lady and she said, if I like Mediterranean food, I will love Cava. You all know Mediterranean food has a hold on me anyway so I was all for it. I decided to have lunch here yesterday since I was in the area. I ate my meal inside. It was cozy and had plenty of seating inside as well as outside. It was very clean and I loved the options that they had. I got the build your own bowl and I'm going to share my concoction because I want to order this again lol. It was super greens, saffron basmati rice, spicy lamb meatballs, crazy feta dip, Tzatziki, pickled onions, cucumber, and yogurt dill sauce. I also had the cumber mint drink. I ate every bit of that bowl. It was so good and everything was really fresh. I think this is a cool option if you want something a little healthier. It reminds of you Chipotle with the assembly line of ingredients and options to choose. I love that everything was labeled at each station with a description so I didn't have to guess. I will certainly come back to try more items. Also they did have paper straws and the utensils were made from plant starch which I thought was really cool. I visited this location on Jan 30th while working the Mary J Blige concert, we had 2 extremely large orders and with the shows they have to have extra detail to attention..... some food goes on busses, some to dressing rooms or separate production offices and your staff was on point !!!!! it takes extra time to separate the order's (we had 2) one for production and one for the Tour..... the team was absolutely amazing, they jumped into action making each order to specifics given, they labeled and separated each order between the 2 teams . I have been doing this for years and I've never been as impressed with the quality and special customer service we were given that night. The Manager and her staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and even took the time to help me load everything in my van to get it back to the venue.
