I have been to Chopt a couple of times over time, and usually start with a base of one of their salad suggestions and make a few modifications to my liking. There are so many choices that in the world of salads, I would imagine that it would be tough to get bored here. They are usually pretty filling too. The container they come in kind of makes them seem smaller than they actually are, due to it's depth. This Greensboro location is very busy most days at lunch, if you come later, you'll get a less hectic experience. Regardless, they usually are good about keep it tidy. Here was my order: Romaine, Kale & Purple Cabbage (70 cals), Spinach (25 cals), Falafel (140 cals), English Cucumber (10 cals), Grape Tomatoes (10 cals), Pickled Jalapeño (5 cals), Purple Beets (30 cals), Lemon Tahini (90 cals), Mixed In, Light, Do Not Include Bread What I got: was mostly Romaine lettuce--and mostly the outer leaves and center veins. There was some kale, and a few slivers of purple cabbage. I saw maybe 6 leaves of spinach. Maybe there was 1 or 2 falafel balls. A miniscule amount of english cucumber and maybe 2 or 3 grape tomatoes. Probably 2 slices of pickled jalapenos. 2 slices of purple beats. As far as light dressing - the only real moisture in the salad came from the vegetables - barely any dressing. I tasted no lemon and a hint of tahini. The whole salad lacked flavor *yes I know I went for light dressing* but I did not expect it to be mainly romaine lettuce. I love Chopt and can't believe I've never reviewed them before. It's a causal order at the counter (or through the app) place for salads and wraps. This time around I got the Craft Your Own Salad. It can be a little pricey if you order more than the 4 included of their choppings. The place can get crowded at lunchtime so I usually order at least 45 min - an hour ahead on the app. My only complaint is that I ordered my salad through the app to be ready in 45 minutes. They made it early and had it sitting out for 20 minutes before I could pick it up at the pre-scheduled pick up time. I do like when my food is ready when I get somewhere, but 20+ minutes is a little long for it to be sitting on a counter when you want to eat a crisp, cold salad. read more

The nice staff were quick and efficient. A nice menu of already curated bowls and salads, or a create your own menu as well, I opted for the Chicken Tinga Bowl and was delicious! Warm grains topped with braised and shredded chicken, avocado, shredded cheese, tortilla strips, kale, black beans, and the green goddess dressing made for a tasty bite with every spoonful! Only complaint on my end would be I wish the avocado came diced or sliced instead of whole which would make for easier eating. My girlfriend went with the Chinese chicken bowl for her meal with the roasted chicken. She said it was good, but some of the veggies and chicken could have been a little fresher. I went on a Sunday and there was nobody in the restaurant at the time I went. This usually gives me a red flag but maybe At 1:30 everyone else had already eaten. There were a lot of options and I elected to get a grain bowl with cauliflower rice, kale mix, chicken and a variety of toppings. The portion was extremely generous and the price was more than I would expect to pay at a walk up "fast food" style restaurant. I asked for light dressing but the dressing was completely overwhelming that I didn't eat much of it. I decided to take it home and try eating it the next day by mixing it with some greens from home. This wasn't a salad I enjoyed the day after. For that reason, I give it 3 stars. I normally try to keep an open mind when it comes to trying a restaurant for the first time. We came here on a Saturday night about 7:00. There wasn't anyone else in there accept maybe another couple that just ordered. We needed time to look at the menu but felt a bit rushed. When we finally decided, my husband wanted to add an item the girl was rude and said it was an up charge but wasn't nice about it. It would have been nice if the girl explained how the whole process worked even after we said it was our first time there. I just felt like she wasn't happy to be there. I know it's hard in the works right now. I get it but if you are in the restaurant business and are dealing with the public then you need to at least be respectful. That goes both ways of course. I like this place! The customization is great and the toppings are endless. I got romaine, corn, green onions, cucumbers and grilled chicken. The dressings are very flavorful and can be mixed. I always get the blue cheese and then something spicy to go with it like Mexican Caesar or some vinaigrette. The way they chop up all the greens and mix the toppings and dressings together is very innovative and every bit of your salad has dressing and is consistent throughout. I spent $12 on the salad but I would say the price is about what you would pay for something like this. I recommend. read more

This is my new salad go to place. This restaurant is absolutely amazing because there are unlimited salad varieties you can try. I have a salad door dashed to my house at least once a week. The quality and freshness of the ingredients is consistently the same week after week. I love their Mexican Caesar Salad. Caesar dressing with a kick of spice...it is so flavorful. They have something like 40 different dressings and condiments to choose from. The salad I ordered is your typical Caesar and I added grilled chicken, apples, croutons, crushed tortilla chips, dried cranberries, Parmesan cheese complete with a slice of sourdough bread. You can get the dressing on the side or have it added: light, medium or heavy. I get heavy dressing already added and it's perfect. It's not dripping in dressing but it's evenly coated. The to go container is filled to the brim and I honestly think it weighs at least 4lbs! It's heavy! You definitely get your money's worth. This is my go to meal if I want something fresh and healthy. I stopped by here with my boyfriend to grab a quick bite to eat. I love that there are lots of healthy meal options and a lot of customization. You can either make your own salad, bowl, wrap or select one of the menu options. I opted for the Chinese chicken bowl with the sesame ginger dressing. The dressing was really good and complimented the veggies nicely. I chose to get my bowl on the rice but they had cauliflower rice too. I really enjoyed it overall but some of the broccoli in my bowl looked bad and the chicken wasn't my favorite. I think I'd order it again and swap the chicken for something else or not get it in the bowl at all. It was dry and didn't have much flavor. Other than that the bowl had good flavor with the other veggies and dressing. The staff were really nice and our bowls were made quickly. I didn't realize this place was a chain until I was sitting there last night eating with a friend of mine. She had suggested meeting there for dinner because she wanted a salad and had tried the one in Winston and liked it. Ironically, they were handing out samples at my chiropractor's office for customer appreciation day as well so I got to try a few dressings, which were good. So I was looking forward to trying the Chinese warm bowl which I had seen on the menu earlier. There was a small line upon our arrival, with two young people filling orders. It was around 6:45pm when I was there, and I was disappointed to hear they were out of cauliflower rice. I'm surprised they were out of a major ingredient that is the base of half their warm bowls (it's a choice of warm grains or cauliflower rice). And it wasn't even close to closing time. I ordered the salad instead with a minor substitution. At this time, only the young man was out front and he was helping me. My friend was standing waiting for someone else to help her while a line steadily grew behind her. I opted for a wrap instead, dressing on the side. The young man finished my wrap, helped a man with his pickup order, and handed me my wrap, forgetting the dressing, which I nicely reminded him about. After I paid and found a table, another young lady helped my friend with her order. Naturally I went to the condiments and silverware area but there were no napkins anywhere. The dispenser was empty and I had to ask for some since there were none on the tables either. I had to clean off a table to sit at and I noticed the table beside it hadn't been cleaned off either. Kinda gross. The wrap I ordered was decent but nothing special. The lettuce or cabbage base looked slightly off color like it had set out too long. The taste was ok. But just ok. Nothing that made me think it stood out or made me want to come back. My friend ordered the Mexican Caesar and she said it was good. One thing that annoyed both of us was the water dispenser. They have the tiniest cups for water. Think slightly bigger than a Dixie cup. They're flimsy and difficult to push against the ice dispenser. And with putting even a little ice in it, you can suck the water down in one or two sips. Thus, we made multiple trips back and forth to the dispenser and table, each taking turns. It was annoying, seeing how we were trying to talk and catch up but having to get up every 2 minutes to refill water. As we were leaving, several people were walking around the drink and condiment area looking lost. I watched them for a moment, then watched as they asked each other where the napkins were. It had been over an hour since I had informed the staff the napkin dispenser was out and they STILL hadn't filled it. Would I go back? Probably not. The food was mediocre at best and while the young man who helped me was very friendly, everything else lacked- dirty tables, stocking issues, etc. Not worth paying $10 for a glorified salad in my opinion. read more

Chopt is a quick service chain that specializes in build-your-own salads and warm bowls. However, I wouldn't say it was particularly quick. There a was a big line to order and wait for your salads. We arrived at 12:30, in the heart of lunch hour, and they only had like 3 people working out front. I would say they could use another person or two to keep things moving. You don't want to spend so much time in line you don't have time to enjoy your food. Chopt absolutely has a health focus. They disclose calorie counts and allow for customization to meet dietary need. I like to try a different item each time I go. On my most recent visit, I was very happy to find out that they now offer Cauliflower rice (opposed to just warm grains) for the bowls. I love that restaurants are starting to offer low-carb options, even if I must pay a little extra. I got the Mediterranean Bowl which has chicken, cucumber & tomato salad, feta, spicy peppers, cabbage, cilantro, and crispy chickpeas. Overall it was visually appealing with all its bright colors and tasted good despite being a lower calorie option. My main complaint was I felt it was overdressed. The rice is already drizzled with Lemon Tahini dressing and then they add house vinaigrette at end on top. It was just too much, if I get this again, I will just do one dressing or the other.
