I came in on Friday, evening. There was two girls speaking Spanish and one of the managers yelled at them for speaking Spanish. He is new to the store I'm a regular guest there, and this makes me not want to come in, because I'm Spanish speaker myself , and the two girls there, felt bad one of them cried. I'm sorry but for a manager to display such behavior in front of guests it's unacceptable. I will be contacting corporate, and want to speak to HR about it. The music was up excessively when we walked in. The staff was not helpful or pleasant, charged me extra for half a handful of salad, mind you I didn't get any grains. Any way the music was so loud they couldn't hear anything we said it asked. They tried to tell people I received extra items that I did not, then they began speaking in Spanish to avoid what I was saying. The dining area was not clean either. This was my worst experience at a cava. Not to mention when I asked for a receipt, the lady pressed no receipt and pushed me out of the line. One star until this location resolves their issues with how they operate. For the past month or two: - It has become normal for mobile orders (for pickup) to not be ready on time. - 9 out of 10 times the side pita I included in my mobile order is not in the bag, and I have to go ask for it. - They have not fixed their issue preventing customers from using the app to scan before paying, when ordering in-store. - It looks like the place is consistently under-staffed, and I cannot say I have ever seen or heard an employee that would make me think a supervisor or manager is there, trying to help the employees and ensure a good experience for customers. Bottom line, a lot of problems, and I've had it, which is a shame because the food tends to be good. Hope this place gets their act together. read more

This is a great location right outside Arundel Mills. I stumbled upon the Harissa Honey Chicken bowl. Each ingredient was really good. This location may need more ventilation because the smoke from the food cooking, was tough to bare. But I bared through it and the food did not disappoint. The customer service was noteworthy. Cava is great for new flavors and a quick lunch. They may only give you a small scoop of the veggies but the salad always fills me up, plus the flavors a unique. They tables are all spaces apart for social distance with labels and everyone had a mask on. I used to love CAVA. The staff were always nice, attentive and prompt with their orders. Since COVID had occurred, the quality of service is nonexistent. This recent experience was the WORST. The staff didn't acknowledge me AT ALL, I ordered ahead and it was 20 minutes AFTER the promised time before I received my food. I saw one guy using his BARE HANDS with salad, and I was DISGUSTED. Overall, I'm very disappointed, this location used to be my favorite location. My go to spot for lunch! I used to live in DC and really missed Cava, so when this one popped up near my work, I was thrilled. Everyone in my office is also now obsessed with it. Tons of flavor and everything seems to work together. I like to add the harissa if I am in the mood for some heat. I almost always do the greens and grains with the superfood greens. SO GOOD! Don't eat at this place! I reprimanded an employee why he was using his bare hands, without gloves, on getting some greens and pita bread in front of his co-workers and not a single co-worker reacted. His response was he was just helping. I told him that he's dealing with food and he needs to wear gloves all the time, he said he just washed his hands and I responded he was holding his phone all the time. This Cava is very poorly run. The food is great, but service is almost nonexistent. If you order ahead, your ticket sits there until you go and ask them where your order is. So order ahead doesn't really do much. The quoted time online or on the app is never accurate when your order isn't made until you request it to be made. Also had an experience where I stood in line and got to the register and asked for a side pita, which is free. I was rudely told that I had to order it at the beginning of the service line. I really use to like this location until recently, the quality of the cleanliness had gone down. Went in on a Friday. Seemed like they hated their jobs, threw stuff in the bowl with attitudes, sauces and food everywhere on the main line. The girl who helped us had red braids and just gave us attitude. We asked for pitas and moved on to the cashier. We watched as she dug her ear with the gloves she was serving with and touch our pitas and continued to serve other guests. I was in the area after an event and needed a fast, reasonably healthy meal before facing a long drive. I was happy to stumble across this Cava, which is located on the fringe of the mall across the parking lot from the Live! Casino entertainment complex. I was even happier to find no line. The staff were friendly and fast and the food was fresh and very tasty. I chose an arugula and spinach mix for my salad and the beef meatballs for my protein along with a good assortment of other vegetables and the Greek vinaigrette. I was especially pleased with the beef meatballs which were char-grilled on the outside but tender and flavorful on the inside. Overall a nice, fresh, tasty meal served up fast at a reasonable price. Can't ask for much more than that! The restaurant itself was clean and modern and looked fairly new. Plenty of seating in various configurations to accommodate every size group. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick meal and in the area. read more

Its too bad I have to write this but the food is not the problem the people that work there are. Here is my complaint sent to hello@cava.com that received no response. am writing this email as a complaint about our experience at the CAVA restaurant in Hanover, MD today between approximately 12:20 and 1:30 pm on August 19th, 2022. Originally I placed an order that was supposed to be ready at 12:15 pm (see attached screenshot) and I put my wife's name on the order so that she could pick it up. When my wife arrived at CAVA between 12:20 and 12:25 pm the order was not ready in the to-go area so she approached the cashier about the order. When my wife asked about an order that was supposed to be ready at 12:15 pm the cashier rudely replied that there were no orders scheduled for that time or name and that my wife must have the wrong location. When my wife pressed further and asked if the order was under my name the cashier said yes but would not allow my wife to pick it up. My wife did not have her phone and had to return home to get it. When she returned to the restaurant 30 minutes later she asked for the order to be remade as it had been sitting for over 30 minutes at that point. The cashier then refused to remake the order or give my wife a refund. After a brief standoff in which the cashier suggested to my wife that she go and remake the order herself, another employee remade the order and my wife was able to get it and finally leave the restaurant. Needless to say this was a very frustrating and humiliating experience for my wife and I am not pleased at the level of service we received. I wanted to make you aware of the way customers are being treated as I do not believe this is representative of the CAVA name and restaurant brand. I have attached a screenshot of my online order (that includes my wife name) as well the actual receipt from the restaurant (that also includes my wifes name). The faded receipt was exactly how my wife received it from the restaurant. We look forward to hearing your response. One month later. Not a peep. Don't waste your time, they don't care. read more

I hate to leave bad reviews, but here we are. The server gave me half a scoop of rice and one hand full or salad. It barely covered the bottom of the bowl. When I asked for a whole scoop of rice they told me it was going to be an upcharge. The servings are so small that it made no sense to buy food. I've gone to Cava one other time. This was supposed to be redemption. I still can't stand how healthy the food tastes. I am all for a good salad and some healthy options, but Cava just doesn't do it for me. I'm sure this is personal preference and has no standing on the organization itself. They offer a great healthy alternative to BIG Macs, French fries, and fried chicken. I tried the greens salad with hummus, falafel, and every vegetable that they had available. I also went with the green goddess. That was actually good, but the falafel was dry and tasteless. I tied the other proteins and they weren't much better. The lamb was dry and the chicken was barely palatable. I do enjoy the drinks. They are really good and I believe they are pretty healthy. read more

Ordered my grain bowl to-go. I was so disappointed by the portion size and stated that - they added more of my lentils and rice base. The lentils were crunchy- seriously undercooked. I came to Cava because my daughter told me about the great food and the cool atmosphere. I didn't know what to order so I went with the steak mezzo salad and it was so delicious. Okay, turns out what I thought were "undercooked" lentils this whole time are actually *dried-out lentils* from the bottom of the heated cast-iron pan they keep them in. This happens at every CAVA location I've been to, and the result feels like chewing on little rocks. And if you want delivery, you better do that at your own risk because they will send whatever order they want to your home. The "manager" is not trained in customer service whatsoever and didn't even try to offer a satisfactory solution for the inconvenience. It's not worth it to eat at this location. Attention GLUTEN FREE I cannot praise this place enough. We came in yesterday afternoon. The man serving up our food graciously changed his gloves (and washed his hands too!) when I explained I had a gluten allergy. He followed my bowl to the end to help limit contamination. They do have flat breads so it's not 100% no cross contamination because they use the same scoops to serve the topping - but everything was very clean. I felt great after and the food was delicious! And only $10!! Not only that but they were friendly and didn't act inconvenienced by my request which is sadly a rarity in the food industry. They are also completely egg & nut free & list all other common allergens on their menu! You have no idea what a gift this is to some one who has anxiety eating out after being sick so many times from unknowledgeable employees. I had the chicken & my husband had the lamb. Both were bomb. The concept is like a Chipolte except Mediterranean food. 1st the pita is amazing! I could have eaten the pita all day! Such yummy seasoning! I did the build your own bowl, romaine, brown rice as the base. Tzatziki, hummus & roasted red pepper hummus as my dips/spreads. You can pick up to 3 and the scoops are small. My protein was the seasonal roasted vegetables, sweet potato, cauliflower, mushrooms mix... I'm not a fan of mushrooms and luckily there was only 2 pieces in my scoop. My dressing was the lemon herb tahini, I wish I would have went with the yogurt dill or sriracha Greek yogurt. Overall my bowl was good. I took home a side of crazy feta dip with some pita. Love the pita, the crazy feta, not so much. It's nice to have another food choice by Arundel Mills. read more

I am a huge Cava fan, and always will be. Everything is so fresh and tasty. I prefer the bowl over the wrap because it's less messy. I always start with a super greens as my base, I add basmati rice and I love the roasted eggplant spread/dip. You can get up to three dips, but I love the eggplant so much I just get three scoops of that. Next for my protein I typically get half beef meatballs, half roasted veggies (which is brussels sprouts cauliflower and carrots.) They were out of beef tonight so I just went with half veggies and have sweet potatoes. They don't always have sweet potatoes but when they do they are delicious! I like to top mine off with lots of fixings, cucumbers, tomato and onion, and lentil beans. I like the pickled onion, but they were out tonight. My favorite dressing is the balsamic date vinaigrette and the tahini Cesar. I mix those two together, it's like heaven! I never go to Cava without getting a order of the pita chips. They're best when they're fresh out the grease, which today they were not. But they're still good. Lastly, I always have to get the cucumber mint lime drink. It's amazing! read more

Ordered food online to pick up. When I arrived 20 min later, there was no food ready. My email stated that is was ready for pickup. I stood at the counter for 15 min waiting for anyone to acknowledge me or say hello or apologize. Nope. Not one word. The line was long and the servers went through the whole line. I just waited at the counter. Finally I was forced to say excuse and asked where my food was. The girl said nothing and walked over to the line where my bowl was sitting with a receipt. No apology no thank you For waiting. Nothing. She dropped my food in my bag and said nothing. I asked for my pita bread and for some reason this bothered her. Here I sit with my room temperature food. Half of the food I ordered isn't on here. I did not receive pita chips. I wasted 2 dollars on avacado which I didn't get . And they forgot the sauce. I want a refund. Do better and Instill a more customer service attitude in your employees. I'm telling all my people to never go to this location. Consequences of awful customer service. read more
