This is located in the USC village. I had to park on the street and walk back. When I came in around 6pm they were out of the steak. They said 15-20 minute wait. It ended up being a 35 minute wait. This was my first visit to Cava and I did not enjoy the meal. The saffron basmati rice was dry and hard. I also ordered the lentils which was fine. I ordered the chicken and some veggies for the topping. I plan to try Cava again sometime. The staff making my order was super helpful and nice.

    Kids meal!!! With extra "chips"

Absolutely love CAVA and the taste. Kids meal is affordable and filling, also came with a drink. Although it did greatly upset my stomach as I have a sensitive gut. Unsure if it was the hummus or the mixed greens/tomatoes. So just a heads up for anyone who has sensitive GI systems. Otherwise, restaurant was clean and friendly service.

Super upset. I ordered a pre-configured CAVA bowl (lamb meatball) for $18. They had to substitute the lamb for something else. And the avocado was included in the preconfigured bowl. Yet my bowl cost $23! I complained At the cash register. And he dropped it from $25 to $23. Not right. I would have further complained but there was a long line behind me. NOTE: I rarely give any place a 1 star or even 2 star. ... still upset!

This was my first time trying Cava. I've heard a lot of great things, so I decided to check it out. We grabbed a couple of bowls and a wrap to share as a family. Mediterranean isn't my favorite cuisine, but I still enjoyed the food, and I liked the build-your-own bowl concept. It wasn't too crowded when we went, so service was good, and we were able to find a table outside to enjoy our meal.

I love Cava, but unfortunately I found a hair! Very disappointed!! Wish restaurant would handle food with safety and hygiene. Use hair nets and gloves should be a must!!

Food and portion is good that why I rate with 3 stars. But customer service is terrible. I went in and there was only 2 ppl ahead of me not busy. It took forever for them to get me to checkout. They were so distracted and talking among each other. They would pause from building my bowl to talk. I had to literally say "excuse me" and get the guys attention so he can continue my bowl. Paying was fast but didn't get a receipt and the cashier left I had to call him over so he can print it.

Super gross! I found a hair in my bowl! When I went there ordering food, people working there had bad attitude... What's worse, I got over charged for something i did not order. I wouldn't even have got a refund if I didn't ask for the receipt and looked closely! The person tried to argue with me and didn't even apologize until the manager fixed it for me. Usually I like the food at Cava, but I will not go back to this location!!! I recommend you all go to a different location.

CAVA is better than CHIPOTLE !!! I'm on the cava grind and it's so addicting. I highly recommend trying this place out a couple times to figure out your go to bowl. Tzatziki and red pepper hummus are my go to dips!

Love CAVA! It is a go-to whenever I am traveling since I do not have one back home. Service was fast and easy, and the portions were generous. I had heard this location can get busy, but on the Saturday morning I visited it was quiet. Delicious and healthy food that never disappoints.

Falafel salad with no pita chips :(
    Vanessa J.

I really have enjoyed cava and have been able to visit a few different locations and have orders delivered to my office with no problems. However, my recent visit to cava at the USC village was not so pleasant. The line was long, but I was free that day so I waited patiently and took my time deciding what I wanted to order. When I got to the front, I was ready to order the falafel bowl and figured it would be a simple order and ordered it as is on the menu. The employees on the assembly line were moving quickly, trying to get the line to move as fast as possible, which I understood, but I noticed that as the gentleman was quickly making my bowl he missed a few key ingredients so when my bowl arrive to the middle person for the dressing, I let them know that my bowl was missing the feta cheese and the corn that I had asked, and the pita chip on top. The young woman was annoyed and did a side roll with her eyes and was very annoyed that I was asking for these items. I understand the person before was supposed to have completed this task, but they disappeared when I wanted to bring it up then as she was reaching for the pita chips, there were no more so I said I could wait. I get to the register and the young man at the register said well it's gonna be a while and I said it's OK. I can wait. I'll wait on the side. There were a lot of people waiting on the side so I figured it would get done, but unfortunately what ended up happening was as the minutes ticked and passed. I continued to be ignored. I noticed the pita chips were pretty much done after about 10 minutes and that people in the line we're getting their chips, but I still didn't have mine and when I tried to interrupt the gentleman at the register, he was so overloaded with orders that he continued to ignore me so after about 15 minutes I left. Overall, I didn't think that it made sense for them to ask me to wait if they were not going to eventually get back to me. Also it probably would've just been easier for them to give me an extra pita or large pita chips or some sort of complementary item given that they felt that they could not produce what was needed for the salad that I paid for. Overall, I love the salads, but the customer service at this site felt poor, unprofessional, and unwelcoming.

It feels like we are the guests at a well run family dinner party. Loved the cocktails too. Nava and Semir are both excellent but maybe the former has a little too much ice. Loved their subtly. Definitely pricy, but I'd say it's on par with many of the Michelin starred place I've tried! Highly recommended for special occasions!

It's best to make a reservation in advance if you plan to dine here as they are almost always fully at capacity. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. If the weather is not too hot, I recommend sitting outside. Our mistake was choosing the indoors because it gets awfully loud to the point where you can't even hear the server(s) or your own party speak. Truth be told that's the major factor in the minus 1 star as it negatively affected our overall dining experience. 1. Farm Cheese Spread (5/5) The farm cheese was super light and airy. It's seasoned with sumac/fig leaf za'atar, rose petal (mostly for decor than taste) and fresh rosemary. It's served with 2 slices of crispy edged, doughy centered, black sesame bread that's toasted to perfection. 2. Baba Ghanoush (5/5) This is a dip dish made of smoked eggplant, Jimmy Nardello peppers (adds sweetness and smoky flavor), fennel escabeche, dill and olive oil. It's served with sites of fried pita bread. The eggplant was perfectly savory from the grilled onions and non-spicy, smoky flavor of the peppers. The Pita bread is like a fried beignet donut in terms of flavor. Another enjoyable appetizer to share. 3. Oyster Mushroom Kebab (5/5) Amazing smokey, well-charred and juicy mushroom with a nice price tag attached to it, but still worth to enjoy. It's served with avocado-lovage puree and sumac, which paired well with the mushroom flavor. 4. Grilled Octopus (5/5): The octopus tentacles were cooked to perfection - soft & melts in your mouth. It's almost like eating a very soft rice cake with a hint of seafood flavor note. It's served with sides of skordalia potato puree, brocooli, lamb xo sauce and coated in dill to give it a slightly spicy and savory profile. 5. Slow-Roasted Lamb Neck Shawarma (4.5/5) Super tender lamb meat that's also very fatty. It's served with a side of basil-cilantro like sauce, pickled vegetables and tahini sauce which was super creamy and helped to cut the gaminess of the lamb. The dish also comes with a full size laffa bread, which was fresh (made in-house; you can literally see them making it in the background) and pillowy-soft to wrap the lamb meat in. 6. Cherry Sumac & Ricotta cheese pastry (4/5) We ended with a crispy Cherry jam tart. The puff pastry was flaky puff while the cherry jam was tart and sweet. It paired well with their ricotta cheese, which was light and airy and sprinkled with sumac. It also comes with a scoop of Pistachio ice cream that's subtly nutty and floral but was a bit too sweet for our liking. Overall, the food here was good, but the dining environment was too loud for our liking. This place is often compared to Bestia, which we prefer. Fun fact - Bavel and Bestia are owned by the same owners.
