i've been to this corner bakery location a few times, and the food has always been consistently well made. the portions are solid, and the place itself is usually clean. it's also surprisingly spacious. every time i've gone, there's barely anyone dining in, which honestly makes for a nice quiet lunch. i've noticed most people seem to order ahead, grab their food, and head out, which makes sense for a downtown spot with a lot of office workers around. my only criticism is that during my last visit, there were dirty plates left on the table next to mine for my whole meal, and no one cleared them before i left. not a huge issue, but it stood out in an otherwise good experience. overall, this location has been reliable for me and i'd still come back! read more

Overall, I would say this is an okay option if you're looking for a quick bite (the food is okay and nothing special - probably a bit worse than Panera Bread), but I was definitely impressed by the portion size. This USED to be my favorite place for breakfast. I was definitely a DAILY customer of this specific location bcos of their chilled oatmeal. This recent experience left a bad taste in my mouth (no pun intended) since this is a restaurant. We ordered food for a group of (50) as we were having breakfast during a supervisor meeting. Food order was placed two days in advance with specific instructions to please have food delivered by 630 am. "No problem " was the response from the Corner Bakery employee who took my order. The day of, I arrived 15 minutes early to await delivery. 630, 645, 700 and no delivery. Meeting has started and I am on the phone trying to get a status on my order. "5 mins" I am told by an employee. 715, 725, 730 and no delivery. I am on the phone a second time that morning trying to get an updated status. "5 mins" I am told a second time by another employee. 740, 745, 750 and no delivery. I am FURIOUS!! If you are going to be late, don't tell me five minutes every time I call. Be honest and say "30 mins or 45 minutes" etc.. don't lie and simply be honest, " we are backed up and will be late" is easier to accept than "5 minutes". At 755, a small van FINALLY shows up. I don't share my anger and disappointment with the driver as he has nothing to do with this mess. I say thank you and have a good day to the driver and unload my order. The fruit we received was warm and lacked taste, the pastries for reason were stale and the coffee was just ok. Perhaps the entire delivery issue ruined the entire experience for me but I think I'll hold off on ordering from this location for a while solely for this drama. read more

I had scheduled for Corner Bakery Cafe to deliver food for a very very important meeting at our office that we are hosting for since my co worker suggested this place. I had informed them of the time we needed the food to arrive by and I was assured that the delivery would occur within that timeframe when I called to confirm the delivery that morning. Unfortunately, the delivery did not occur on time and I wasn't even extended the courtesy of having them notify me. Instead I had to reach out to them and inquire about the status of my order. I was told that the delivery driver was already on their way to my office. After 15 minutes went by I called again and I was told the driver was on their way. My order was supposed to arrive between 8:30-8:45am, the driver didn't actually arrive until 9:30am. The driver apologized for the delay, and I understand it wasn't his fault. He told me that they were short staffed and he didn't actually leave when the person from Corner Bakery told me he had left at. I understand it can be difficult being short staffed, but if this was going to be a possible issue then they shouldn't have assured me delivery would be made on time, in which case I would've opted for a different food service. The level of customer service was extremely poor, they could've at least given me a 1 minute call letting me know of the delay and proving a new ETA. It shouldn't have required me to follow up with them and then having to deal with a rude and disrespectful worker. She seemed more concerned with getting me off the phone than I'm actually finding out the status of my order. Also, she didn't offer any apology nor rectify the situation. In the end, I would not use this company for any future events and I've let other staff that schedule special events to avoid using them. Note: There is a delivery fee of $25 and as a TIP you should avoid paying gratuity in advance and pay it in cash since you should wait till the service has been provided and hopefully that will ensure you have a better experience. I'll give them a second chance with a second sandwich and photograph that. But right now I feel Subway is actually a better bargain, especially since you can see what ingredients go into a Subway sandwich. Be careful here. Expressed a concern to there cashier. Mentioned that the chocolate milk they sell and store in the front is at room temperature and my kids drink that same brand. (CA Food safety laws requires it to be at 38F)The person seemed careless and simply laughed with no regard for the risk they're taking. These practices will certainly spread to other aspects of there kitchen so be careful. Don't know about you guys, but I don't risk my health nor my kids for a pastry or milk.
