Today, my trip to Cava turned out to be a huge letdown, a stark contrast to my usual positive experiences at eateries like Chipotle. It all started with the rice - or, should I say, the lack thereof. I was handed a bowl with barely enough rice to cover the bottom, a sight so disappointing it set the tone for what was to come. When I asked for just a bit more, I was told it would cost extra. This felt ridiculous, especially since I've never faced such a restriction at Chipotle. Then came the moment to choose my meat. I opted for lamb, only to find out the base price was $17, which is $5 more than the most expensive option at Chipotle, the Carne Asada. While the price reflected the costs of what could've been a sit down meal, I could've overlooked the price difference if the portion had been generous. Instead, I received one tiny pinch of lamb. But the real kicker came with the sauces. I wanted a mix of garlic sauce, tzatziki, and some yogurt sauce to bring some flavor to my meal. To my disbelief, I was informed that choosing three sauces was not an option. The idea that they couldn't spare a drizzle of an extra sauce was beyond me. It's not just about the sauce; it's about the principle. The fact that such simple requests were met with denial left a sour taste in my mouth, far worse than any sauce could've fixed. Adding to the frustration of my visit to Cava was the incredibly long line I had to endure, a testament to either its popularity or perhaps a lack of efficient service. The wait time was exacerbated by noticeably slow workers who seemed more preoccupied with fulfilling online orders than attending to the customers waiting in line. This prioritization of online orders over in-person service not only extended my wait time but also contributed to a growing sense of neglect among those of us standing there. Such an imbalance in service, where digital convenience trumps the traditional dine-in experience, only further dampened what was already shaping up to be a disappointing visit. This stark contrast in efficiency and customer care when compared to my usual experiences elsewhere, like Chipotle, solidified my decision that my first visit to Cava would indeed be my last. Comparing this experience to Chipotle, where I've noticed they might skimp on the meat but are always generous with everything else, the choice becomes clear. The restrictions on sauces, the stinginess with basic components like rice, and the overall lack of value for the price have all ensured that my first visit to Cava will be my last. I have been to this location twice, I'm good, thanks. There are plenty of other restaurants in the village that come and go. You're not all that. Food is generally okay but the experience is the pits. We arrived around 11:15 AM and the restaurant was only half full with just a couple of people ahead of us in line. We were not greeted or said hello to, more of 'what do you want?'. For whatever reason, the people taking our orders felt the need to rush us, moving us through the line like cattle. I understand, you get busy but you aren't busy at the moment and really, being just a little nice goes a long way. At the cash register, the girl grabs my card and charges me for my food, does not ask if I wanted a drink (which I did) and didn't tell me the total, just gives me the card with receipt. I found this behavior as rude, with no personality and no general manners. I asked if I could get a small drink, she grabs my card again, swipes again and hands me the card back without so much as a word. read more

I really like CAVA's food, but the service at this location has been consistently disappointing. I've had servers who were cold and rude, and while I understand they might be overwhelmed, it doesn't excuse poor customer service. During my last visit, the employee helping me was clearly having a bad day. She sighed, scoffed, and spoke with an unfriendly tone the entire time. What's also frustrating is how small the portions have gotten. I saw a worker scoop something, then put part of it back to give me less. It's hard to justify paying for a bowl that looks half full, especially when I also didn't get the pita I asked for. Ordering online is even worse. The portions are noticeably smaller, which feels unfair when it's supposed to be a convenient option. I don't want to feel like I have to ask for more food every time just to get what I paid for. I still enjoy the food, but between the bad service and shrinking portions, it's getting harder to want to come back. read more

Can't believe I haven't heard of Cava before !!! It's basically a chipotle style restaurant BUT BETTER!!! My family and I came in today around 1:30-ish for lunch and let me just tell you, they will stuff your bowl! I got the arugula salad with the sweet and spicy chicken with all the topping and extra quinoa YUMM and as the cashier suggested I got the green sauce with the tahini sauce amazing combo! I also enjoyed how it was our first time there and the guest services workers were very nice and they really did tend to our every need. And to top things off the young lady with slicked hair Gave me free pita chips and my young daughter a FREE BROWNIE, I asked what was the reason behind this ? And she replied with " it's you're first time correct? We want to make your first time memorable" What other store give you free stuff on your first visit? For many years, Westwood has been lacking good restaurants, it's always nice to see when a healthy but good option opens in Westwood. I hate to compare Cava Grill to Chipotle or Shophouse BUT the concept is very much the same but instead of it being Mexican or Asian, Cava is Mediterranean food. What I love about Cava is that all of the ingredients are the very best and very fresh, the pita is always freshly baked and warm. The protein options are really good and tasty, I do feel the protein portions could be a little large especially when you pay extra and get one of the premium proteins. When it comes to beverages Cava has steered away from using the big beverage brands and uses more healthy alternatives who use real sugar not the fake stuff. I must commend Cava for being environmentally friendly, their forks, knives are all made out of plant base materials, their bowls are paper and the restaurant has recycling. Good job Cava! read more

I am not the type to write reviews at all, but one of my most recent visits here compels me to express a warm sentiment of appreciation specifically to the staff of this location. I stop by fairly frequently and my visits are always satisfactory. In regards to a recent visit, however, I happened to stop by on a pretty rough day for me. Dare took my order and I was greeted by her wonderful energy. They ran out of right rice by the time I ordered but she guided me through their other options as she wanted to ensure that I'd be happy with my meal regardless. To make a long story short, the rest of the staff who helped me after were extremely patient and exemplary with their customer service. It definitely helped that everyone was also enthusiastic and welcoming. Decent food. Semi clean store. The -2 stars are for the grill cook that was working when I went in around 1 pm yesterday 6/2/26. He really needs to work on his attitude problem and needs to be spoken to about his customer service. He clearly doesn't want to be there and it clearly shows in his voice and tone. I see im not the only person who's run into issues with this grill cook. I won't be coming back, as the rest of the employees were very short with me as well but the grill cook - pretty short, brown hair, left the worst impression out of everyone to me. Was amazed by the customer service brought on by the associate "savana" and the manager "Mikeal" I noticed they we're getting slammed and very busy for a store during these times But nevertheless they still managed to give me an outstanding service compared to other stores I've been where they tend to rush you but not here ! And they even gave me by bowl for free since I forgot my card at home! Cava has amazing food and a good vibe within the restaurant. The one problem I consistently find with Cava is that their staff really struggles with efficiently making the food and keeping the line moving. When I go into Cava it could take up to 10-15 minutes to get my food despite there barely being any line at all. That being said, the staff is incredibly friendly and generous with their portion sizes. The variety at Cava should also be noted- I've gone to Cava with a bunch of different friends and every time my friends can find something on the menu that they really enjoy. Overall good food and pretty restaurant, they just need to work on making the process quicker. read more

Kava is another relatively new restaurant that successfully adopted the Chipotle model. Think of it as mediterranean food done Chipotle-style. They give you a nice range of spreads to choose from and as many sauces as you like. The meatballs is my favorite, but you have the choice of doing half and half with any other choice of proteins. Sometimes, they don't have it available even though it's on the menu. I was not pleased, however, that the pork belly was drier than usual. I was pleasantly surprised that I got my order in less than ten minutes. Usually, it takes over 15 minutes to get my order, which isn't ideal if the clock is ticking away on your lunch break. I must have come on a day when they didn't have a lot of pick up orders. The service here was nothing to write home about. It was neither good nor bad. As my rating indicates, my experience was mixed, but for this place, it's par for the course. I keep coming back because I'm a sucker for tzatziki and pita bread and this is the closest place I can enjoy this wonderful combo for lunch.

I've been to Panini Kabob Grill plenty of times at other locations, so I knew it would be a solid post race meal. They seated me really quickly, which I appreciated so much because I was in no shape to be standing around. Huge thank you to the staff for refilling my water so many times. That honestly felt incredible after the marathon. I ordered the hummus, falafel, chicken shish kabob, and koobideh shish kabob, and everything really hit the spot. It was so fresh and filling. The restaurant is very bright and lively. The service at this location is especially wonderful as well. Everyone was kind and attentive, and you can tell the staff works well together. I felt very well taken care of the entire time. Highly recommend.

When I approached…read morethe counter and explained that I wanted to order food to go, the employee immediately discouraged me by saying, "Oh man, we are very busy and it will take over 30 minutes. It's up to you if you want to wait." Really? If takeout orders are going to take over 30 minutes, are the customers dining inside also waiting that long for their food? The response honestly didn't make much sense and left me with the impression that my business was not wanted. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but there are better ways to communicate that with customers. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning to Panini. I also work in a nearby office and regularly have opportunities to order food for meetings and coworkers. I will be sharing my experience with them so they can consider other options in the future.

As I side note, if you live in an apartment in the Los Angeles area, do not allow anyone from DGO Construction into your apartment. Although I like my CPK Gift Card, I would have preferred my apartment not being trashed under the guise of "rewiring". Today I went to the California Pizza Kitchen location in Westwood Village. Unlike the takeout horrors I encountered at the Beverly Hills CPK location, the CPK in Westwood Village has a separate door and counter way back in the corner for takeout orders so the tables in the restaurant can be used by guests, rather than being covered with takeout orders waiting to be picked up. I had a lunch duo of a Thai Crunch Salad and a Thai Chicken Pizza. Everything was very good and there was a lot of it. I probably won't be hungry again until tomorrow morning. The CPK in Westwood Village is located in El Paseo, a historic building. I am including some information about El Paseo in the photos I am posting with this review.
