The other day, I dropped by this place for lunch as I occasionally do, and ordered the Gyro plate with pork belly and rice. I was happy they had the pork belly. Sometimes, they don't have it available even though it's on the menu. I was not pleased, however, that the pork belly was drier than usual. I was pleasantly surprised that I got my order in less than ten minutes. Usually, it takes over 15 minutes to get my order, which isn't ideal if the clock is ticking away on your lunch break. I must have come on a day when they didn't have a lot of pick up orders. The service here was nothing to write home about. It was neither good nor bad. As my rating indicates, my experience was mixed, but for this place, it's par for the course. Nick the Greek is a great spot for quick Mediterranean food. Their wraps are the best. I do feel like they are pretty light on the meat, though. Their frozen yogurt is a must though! It is tart and a great serving for the price. It's a perfect dessert for the meal, I come just to get the yogurt! However, this location in particular has not had the frozen yogurt the last two times I have been there. I have gone in the middle of the day and it is disappointing to hear that they run out. The size of the bowls here are huge! I got the pork gyro bowl, which had a nice mix of everything - rice, veggies, protein. The meat was well seasoned and the veggies made it more refreshing. I ordered ubereats of Nick the Greek because I was craving a gyro bowl. It wasn't bad but it was underwhelming and did not hit the spot. The tzatziki has a weird bland flavour and the bowls didn't have much variety. Also, the actual gyros were not flavourful at all and they didn't even have any salt. Solid 4 stars, Nick the Greek is a standout in Westwood and offers all the gyro and souvlaki you could crave. Also, they have an absolutely delicious baklaka and honey topped greek yogurt froyo that cannot be found anywhere else easily. Came in for lunch today and unfortunately the lady who took my order was very rude. She also didn't even give me my receipt (despite asking for it multiple times) or let join the rewards program, like I wanted to do. The food was pretty good but the $17 Chicken Gyro plate only came with a tiny little baby scoop of tzatziki in a pre portioned cup, and the lady wanted to charge me extra just for some more sauce. It also only had about 6oz of chicken on the plate which a pretty small portion. One of these stores is opening up near my house in Santa Clarita and I was looking forward to it, but not any more. Loukoumades were a bit spongy but I liked the sauce. My falafel pita was very good and the falafel does not have the strange taste that some Greek places have. We came here this last weekend after walking around Westwood Village. I have heard of this restaurant before, but this was the first time both my friend and I have been here. Saturday. The restaurant itself is actually nice looking, with a fairly large dining area. There was lots of seating available and a short wait for food. We ordered the Gyros sandwich and the Gyros platter. They were both pretty good. I really like Greek food so I am very familiar with the Gyros. They make it with the lamb-beef and also chicken. We both got the lamb style. The portions were pretty good. My platter came with lots of strips of meat with mini pita pieces, rice, and a side salad. His was a large pita wrapped around the meat with some veggies. We both thought they were very good. Not quite a 5/5 but a solid 4. Westwood overall has declined a bit from 20 years ago, but this is a good restaurant in the village. read more

I ordered the Mediterranean Steak bowl and a side of fries "to go" on site (in person) shortly after the store opened at 11AM. Total bill $21+ over priced for the portion received and my bowl looked nothing like the picture. Strange since it was one of the 1st orders of the day. I ordered the bowl with everything included. While the bowl was tasty, it was missing at least half the serving of meat, there was no garlic spread, only half the serving of hummus and the Harissa spread was missing. Unfortunately, I did not realize any of this until I returned to my office. It was my first time at this location. I've been working on campus for almost 5 years. It's unfortunate they don't offer a neighborhood discount for UCLA faculty & staff. The restaurant was neat and clean. I can totally understand the hype behind Nick the Greek, and I'm surprised this location doesn't get more love and customers, especially for their incredible deals (which include 50 cent and $3 beers on select days) and super nice + fast service. Nick the Greek specializes in authentic, freshly cooked Greek dishes, and I love how you can choose from an assortment of proteins such as their vertically roasted gyro meats (available in lamb/beef, chicken and pork belly) and souvlaki, and enjoy them in healthy and delicious bowls, plates or pita wraps. You can definitely tell the difference in quality when it comes to the quality of their freshly prepared pita bread and gyro, and I love how they give you generous portions of rice, protein, salad and sides with your order. Make sure to also finish off your meal with their signature froyo, which is made from Greek yogurt and topped with baklava and honey, and seriously one of the best sweet treats I've ever had! Have not been able to find Greek froyo anywhere, so this will always be my go to spot for it. Gyro was average, good. Froyo, ordered two, delish as always1! Service: Patient, nice. Parking: We parked down the street in a metered parking spot. There is a lot of free parking around, especially by the cemetery, but plenty of metered parking around. Verdict: Perfect visit on a Sunday. Also, since we went during the summer, I'm sure a visit while UCLA is in session may have been a different story. Food is awesome and service is good. The only draw back is the parking here, extremely hard to find street parking even on Saturdays. A semi hybrid system that you order and then food is delivered to you by the cashier. Then you clean up your own table before you leave. You get your tissues as well. And this doesn't seem to be a place like $10-20 per person. This is like Greek mixed with American style. 3 huge TVs for ball games and exotic music. Service is nice, and I usually give tips on the end with cash after I know how good the service is. I am a true believer of not dictating me how much to tip in advance without knowing the service quality. My money isn't falling from the sky to me for free.
