I have been meaning to try Cava since it became a publicly traded stock, and I actually made a few dollars on a brief investment before even trying the restaurant. I have been a fan of Chipotle, Dig, and other similar eateries where you walk along a line of counters with various foods as ingredients which you select to combine into a custom bowl of your choosing. The cuisine might be categorized as Mediterranean. This "fast casual" seemed to be similar to Dig, but the flavors are all their own, and they are very, very good. I had a choice of either greens or lentils on top of my base of brown rice, and for a small upcharge you can have both. I mentioned to the server at this Cava location that this was new to me, and it would have been helpful if I had gotten some guidance on what I would order without being upcharged above the base order. There are small tags at the tops of each toppings section, noting how many of each before getting upcharged. I found out that it pays to do your research before buying. You also get small pieces of pita along with the order if you ask. The seasoning in the steak, in the chicken, and just about everything is all new to me, and I must say, all delicious. What little bit of spiciness was there was not too much. The portion size was generous so I foubd it to be a good value. Depending on how hungry you are it could stretch out to cover two meals. This being my first time trying I am hesitant to award five stars. Maybe I need to come back. read more

First time trying Cava as it came HIGHLY recommended by multiple friends. We ended up eating at my friend's apt nearby. The food was amazing!! I ordered a Greens and Grains bowl. I loved how customizable it was so it could be catered to one's dietary restrictions! From my choices, I loved the Saffron Basmati Rice, the Skhug, the pickled onions, and the grilled chicken. However, one thing we noticed right away was that we all ordered the roasted eggplant dip and NONE of us had it in our bowls. That was disappointing to say the least, but other than that we enjoyed our Cava bowls. For me, the bowl was enough for 2 meals! Service was quick and fast! I think everything was great except our 3 missing eggplant dips in our bowls. That's why I decided to give 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, perfect! read more

I've heard so many things about CAVA so I wanted to try it. It was disappointing for $15. I got a chicken bowl with rice and the rice was barely found. The hummus was all the way at the bottom for some reason. The chicken was non existent. The only thing I did like was pita crisps. The bowl was not even filled all the way to the top, clearly another work lunch spot falling prey to shrinkflation. I was not full after my meal so I will not be eating here again. read more

Wow! First time trying cava and was a great experience. I got the brown rice with arugula, 3 scoops of hummus, chicken, cucumber, tomatoes, corn, broccoli, pita crisps and garlic dressing. I would prob get less hummus because it did make it salty. The service was okay, I wanted to add pita bread to my order but they said the oven was off. Falafel Crunch bowl, how many pieces of falafel do you think it has? Why was it two? And then I wasn't even bummed out about only two pieces because I tried the falafel. Salty, bland, one note, and too soft. Also, it's called "Falafel Crunch Bowl", so like forgive me for thinking that the falafel should have a texture differing from a ball of fresh play dough. People were nice. Service was fast. Got busy and loud with the lunch rush hour, but it's what to expect. My first time trying Cava after hearing people rave about it for years. Solid option for a quick lunch or dinner. I got a build-your-own salad bowl with grilled chicken and, other than it being super salty, it was relatively fresh and filling. The portion was a good amount without leaving me super stuffed, though if I had one nit, it's that the amount of red pepper hummus I got was thimble-sized. The other thumbs down is that I had put in an order for pick-up and when I got there (albeit fifteen minutes late, that was on me), my order was gone. Apparently someone had walked in and swiped it. So back to the end of the very, very long order line I go. To their credit, they gave me a brownie on the house. If I worked near this Cava, I can see myself going all the time. Heard about Cava being an "upgraded" Chipolte experience so I decided to give it a chance. I work close to this location so you can imagine that the lunch crowd line is quite lengthy but they do their best to keep the line moving. There is seating throughout so if you want you can sit and eat but just remember lunch time is quite crowded so chances are you won't get a seat. Love the food, I love the fact that I'm eating healthier without sacrificing taste. Love anything chicken or lamb. Im not a fan of brown rice but love it here. I came here around 4:30pm on a Saturday. The place was clean. I ordered a steak salad. The portion was smaller than the average salad for $20. However, it tasted good and was fairly filling. The steak was the last in the tray though. Coming here earlier in the day may be a better experience. But I would still give it a solid 3 stars. read more

The staff didn't tell us the price of the adds on and we ended up paying $58 dollars for a smashed salty bowl with terrible hospitality. I could get the same or wait! Even much better from a food truck across the street for $13 dollars. This place is a scam. Do not go there unless you have really bad taste on food or a lot of money to waist. Very disappointing. I got the braised lamb grain bowl and it was almost inedible thanks to the rice. The saffron basmati rice was undercooked and tasted overly starchy--like it hadn't been rinsed before cooking. Unfortunately, this made the dish very difficult to eat and I had to stop once I got to the parts where the meat and toppings were touching the rice. The parts I was able to eat did taste good though! If you plan to go during lunch time on a week day, expect to wait in a long line! read more

Perfect way to get some veggies in if you have not been eating a lot of that lately! The bowls here honestly reminded me of Poke at first but I quickly came to appreciate the uniqueness of the build-your-own-bowl options here. I love that after picking a base, you get to choose up to three dips + spreads. That was so cool to me because I feel like it adds an even more flavors and it gives you the opportunity to try out the different tips they have. I really like the variety that goes into the bowl options. They are very filling and it makes me feel like I'm eating healthy since I not only get my proteins in but also my veggies in at the end of the day. The customer service is also good in that one of the employees accidentally dropped one of our bowls but she quickly offered to remake it for us which we greatly appreciate. read more

I absolutely love Cava and this location is no exception! Located right in fidi, it gets super busy! They have plenty of staff working very efficiently so the line definitely moves quick. All the ingredients are super fresh, including their amazing pita chips that are perfectly seasoned and warm (must get)! I always make a custom bowl with falafel (best falafel I've ever had!) and get an order of pita chips. So delicious, definitely recommend! read more

I've been going to this Cava location for both dine-in and takeout since they opened last year, and have generally had good experiences here. If you've never been to Cava before, it's basically a Mediterranean build-your-own bowl place, but I like that the menu has a lot of options and they're allergy-friendly (no eggs, peanuts, or tree nuts). This location is also set up better than some of the others since it has some seating and a bathroom (for the future when we can dine in again). They currently offer curbside pickup and will bring the food to your car, and you can order everything ahead on the app. They're also doing family meals (I don't remember if they had them before, but I hope they'll continue after COVID-19), where you can get a combination of bigger containers of greens, rice, chicken/vegetables, dips, toppings, and sauces for $45. It's supposed to feed 4-6 people, but in our household, it was probably more like 3-4. Although we wish there were an option to swap out the bowls of greens for another bowl of rice, it's still a good deal and we enjoyed assembling our own bowls at home. Now, if they would just bring back the white bean salad and make it year-round, that would be even better! read more

Similar to many other fast-casual bowl/salad restaurants like Dig Inn, Sweetgreen or Chipotle, you start with a base and add proteins, dips/spreads and toppings. What differentiates them is their focus on Mediterranean flavors, which leans towards tangy and slightly acidic notes and spices featuring lemony, briney and bright flavors. Think accents of harissa, turmeric, parsley. The overall concept seems very healthy and geared toward having a variety of nutritious ingredients. If you prefer a warm meal for lunch this may not be not your spot since most of the food is served at room temp or a little cooler for the dips and salads. Also as an eater that prefers not to mix flavors of different elements of food on a plate, the addition of the dips/spreads into the bowl, while tasty, can make it feel a) a bit too much of the same flavor and richness permeating the bowl, and b) soggy if not eaten right away, tho it can definitely hit the spot if you eat it fresh. Agree with some other reviewers depending on what you order it can be on the slight pricier side for lunch, but kinda par for the course in FiDi. The line during peak lunch hours can be almost out the door, but they move quickly and expect to be in and out within 10-12 minutes. read more

First time at Cava but it was everything I had hoped for! This Mediterranean spin on chipotle style service is a meal you'll walk away from feeling full but not stuffed in an uncomfortable way. The ingredients tasted super fresh and complimented each other perfectly. We tried the Harissa avocado bowl and it was so yummy. Creamy, a little spicy, and crunchy.
